Carla is not only incredibly talented, but she was a huge part of why the morning of our wedding felt so fun and relaxed.
I went into the trial not totally sure what I wanted, and she really listened, gave me options, and helped me land on something that felt like me but better. By the time I left I felt so confident about the look, which was one less thing to worry about.
On the day itself, Carla set the tone for the whole morning. Our getting ready suite was packed, easily 20 people at one point between bridesmaids, family, hair and makeup, and our photographer, and she just kept everything calm, fun, and on schedule. My bridesmaids and my mom all looked gorgeous and felt taken care of. She was there for touchups after our first look and again after the ceremony, making sure everything held up through everything. We had a small bustling snafu and she just calmly stepped in to keep me cool and distract me with a touchup while my cousins worked. She even sent me some photos she'd taken during the morning that ended up being some of my favorites from the entire wedding, which was such a sweet surprise.
And the staying power! My hair and makeup lasted the whole sweaty night and looked amazing in photos. I will admit I did not wash off my eye makeup that night, and it still looked great through brunch the next day.
I can't recommend Carla highly enough. She's talented, warm, professional, and just the best person to have around on a big day. -

Summary: I love her, her team, and her work. 10/10 would recommend.
I am someone who has no idea what I want, and Carla took that and delivered me everything I've ever wanted. For my wedding, I had Carla contract to do my hair and makeup, hair and makeup for one of my bridesmaids, just makeup for my other two bridesmaids, and the hair and makeup for my mom. And the consensus from everyone was that Carla is a unicorn and is the absolute best. At first, none of us really knew what we wanted to do for bridesmaid makeup, but after just taking a simple look at the theme and everyone's dresses (they were plum), she thought to do a smokier purple makeup. And my goodness, everyone looked BEAUTIFUL.
The vibes were off the chart, chill, fun, relaxing, etc. All the right energy for a very otherwise anxiety-filled day. She's calm, she's punctual, she's knowledgeable. She put up my very quick look change and absolutely DELIVERED. And the look stayed on THE WHOLE DAY. As someone who sweats like no tomorrow and had a summer wedding, that was crucial because the later pictures turned out amazing.
Thank you, thank you, Carla, for an amazing day and experience. I wouldn't want it any other way. -

Carla was an absolute dream to work with for my wedding day! From the moment I did my hair and makeup trial, she exuded the utmost professionalism and patience, especially when coordinating makeup for my bridal party. On the day of my wedding, she went above and beyond her role, helping with little things that weren’t even part of her job description, such as helping with photography poses, all while keeping the atmosphere light and stress-free. She was attentive to every detail—not just with my hair and makeup, but with making sure I felt calm, confident, and cared for on such a monumental occasion.
Her skill is unmatched—my hair and makeup were flawless, lasted the entire day, and looked incredible in photos. Additionally, her makeup artists were equally skilled, ensuring that my bridesmaids, my mom, and the best woman looked just as flawless. But what truly stood out was her warmth and attentiveness. She anticipated what I needed before I even had to ask, and her presence made me feel completely at ease.

Carla's team (Mirna for hair and Nas for makeup) did hair and makeup for my October 2024 wedding. Working with them was such a pleasure and the results were GORGEOUS! Carla personally attended the hair and makeup trial to make sure the team was ready to go for my thick and very curly hair. My hair has never looked better and the curls were perfect all night (and for days after). Mirna also gave my sister in law (who has very straight, blonde hair) a gorgeous blowout and style. Nas did my makeup as well as my mom and mother in law. She perfectly adjusted to each person's style and preferences and everyone looked perfect! She also kindly covered up a scar on my back for no extra cost. They were also so lovely to be around on my wedding day. I cannot recommend Carla and team highly enough - for all brides but especially for curly-haired brides out there. They are absolutely the best!! -

Carla Pressley is truly the one person you want in your corner before any major event. We both used her services at our wedding and she did a fantastic job tackling the needs of two brides with very different taste, hair types, and skin types. She went above and beyond to make us look our very best, checking in regularly for what we wanted adjusted or what we wanted to change to feel more comfortable. She is the sister everybody would want. The friend everybody deserves. She was such a calm presence on our wedding day and we truly enjoyed her company throughout the day. We also utilized her services for a trial run before the wedding and had an absolute blast trying on different makeup styles and several different hairstyles over a six hour appointment! Carla is so sweet and we would book her again in a heartbeat!! -

When I was looking for a hair and makeup artist, I wanted someone who I felt confident could help me decide the look for my wedding and come up with options for my naturally curly hair. However, I knew the deciding factor would be whether I felt confident that the artist could make every member of my bridal party that was diverse (in terms of race, disability, and LGBTQ) bridal party look and feel beautiful. Carla's portfolio showed me that she really lives her values of inclusion and I booked her with full confidence after our phone consultation the day after my inquiry. She gave me different options for the schedule for either just her or her and a team. I ended up going with the option of her and her team to not start so early and have a more efficient schedule. I was right to place my trust in her and the team she works with!
I did a trial a couple weeks before my wedding, which I cannot recommend highly enough. It was definitely one of the most fun experiences of the entire wedding planning process! Carla spent a few hours with me trying different looks based on my inspiration photos and the vibe of my dress. I left so excited and knowing I had options I liked based on how I was feeling and the weather.
On my wedding day she and her team were fantastic and executed flawlessly and made everyone comfortable on what was a hectic morning. My mother hadn't worn makeup since her wedding almost 40 years ago. My sister and maid of honor is also autistic with intellectual disabilities and had never worn makeup but wanted to be included (and look like a princess!) Carla and her team (special shoutout to makeup artist Mong!) were so patient and understanding and put them both at ease, which I appreciated so much. My other bridesmaids had a wonderful experience with makeup artist Nas as well.
In terms of myself, I can say without question I've never felt more beautiful and glamorous but still myself than I did on my wedding day. Carla came with us to the church and fixed my veil that blew off during my first look and touched up everyone before we walked down the aisle. The look stayed the whole day and my hair held through the dip in our first dance into the after party.
Going with Carla for hair and makeup was easily one of the best decisions I made in wedding planning and I cannot recommend her highly enough! -

She was communicative, patient, responsive, and kind throughout the entire process - from booking, to trial, to the wedding day itself. Carla single-handedly did the hair and makeup for myself, my two sisters, my mother, and the mother of the groom, and she made everyone look natural and beautiful and had us all done in time. I especially appreciated how patient she was with the nervous moms and how much care she took to make sure we were all satisfied with our looks. Carla and did such an amazing job with my hair and makeup on my wedding day. She was extremely professional, personable, and made my bridesmaids and I feel so comfortable and beautiful on my wedding day! My makeup stayed on all day and night and my long, thick, curly hair didn't even fall out!
I have long, thick, curly hair and one of my biggest concerns was ensuring that my hair stayed in the up-do I was looking for and that I wouldn't look like a lion due to frizz by the end of the night. Let me tell you.... my hair stayed ALL DAY AND NIGHT AND LOOKED AMAZING EVEN THROUGH OUR SENDOFF!!! By the end of the night, my makeup looked like she just put it on... even though it had been 6 hours :)
I highly recommend Carla for all brides! Curly girls, Carla definitely has you covered! -

In my humble opinion, Carla is the best out there. She has so much experience, an incredible resume, and is knowledgeable about hair and make up across hair textures and skin tones, which was important to me so that everyone in the bridal party looked and felt fabulous. I experienced some health issues that caused me to gain some weight around my face in the months leading up to our wedding, leaving me feeling a little self-conscious. Carla listened to my concerns and balanced perfectly between makeup technique that helped boost my confidence while still embracing myself as I was at the time. I genuinely felt so beautiful, and she had no issues handling my thick head of hair and swept everything up into an elegant updo that stayed all night. In addition to her expertise, Carla and her team were a very calming presence during a stressful morning leading up to the wedding - I can't thank them enough for their professionalism and kindness! -

Carla and her crew were wonderful for my son's wedding in October, 2022. We had a lot of women who do not regularly wear make-up or style their hair and were a little apprehensive with how they would look.
Carla & Crew did a wonderful job of listening to the Groomsmaids as to what they wanted and then proceeded to make each and everyone of them look beautiful.
She also had such a calming influence during preparations. She was on top of getting everyone ready. Especially when I added 5 extra hair and make-ups to the morning.
Carla even stayed around and touched up the Grooms during their professional photos before the ceremony.

As an Asian female with uneven monolids, I wanted to make sure that whichever MUA I worked with for my wedding day was comfortable working with Asian features. Carla more than delivered, and I'm so glad to have had her as part of my vendor team.
She and her team were responsive and proactive throughout the whole process, providing me with questionnaires to better understand my needs and preferences and updates to let me know what I should be aware of. During our hair and makeup trial, Carla examined the options I presented her and focused on understanding what I liked about each style/look. She never pushed me to decide anything on the spot, instead encouraging me to take time after our trial to sit with the photos she took of me and see which one I liked most. A few weeks before my wedding, I found a style that combined elements from multiple looks that we tested during the trial. She more than happily agreed to do it and said she’d practice the look before the big day.
Carla was a calming presence on the morning of my wedding, working on the hairs and makeup for myself and my three bridesmaids. She kindly touched up the curls two of my bridesmaids had gotten from the Dry Bar even though she didn’t have to. All of our looks held up beautifully throughout the long and somewhat windy day. One of my friends has already asked me for Carla’s information for when she gets married herself.
I have really come to appreciate Carla not just as a hair and makeup artist, but as a strong female entrepreneur with high standards and who cares about doing right by her teams and her clients. I respect the thoughtfulness with which she approaches her craft and business, and really look forward to the opportunity to work with her again in the future. -

She was extremely easy to work with from the time of inquiry through our wedding day, and was always super responsive and attentive. Carla scheduled a virtual consultation since I was unable to do an in-person one. We chatted through what I envisioned for my look and she made recommendations based on my hair and skin types. She was extremely professional, but made the day fun and brought a great energy to getting us all ready! My mother-in-law specifically doesn't typically do make-up and was very pleased with her natural glam look.

Best Experience
With no exaggeration, I felt and looked the most beautiful that I had ever been! Carla showed up on time with her assistant and a second assistant arrived an hour after. It took roughly 5 hours for 5 people, each with hair and makeup. Carla completed touch ups in the end and was very accommodating to perfect loose curls and eye makeup. She even helped apply some body makeup that I had brought to conceal my acne scars. Wonderful personality to work with and my updo (with hair extensions) stayed in place for over 9 hours with no frizz from dancing. She made my day! -

I can't say enough wonderful things about Carla and her team. From the moment I reached out to inquire about availability and pricing to the day of the wedding, they were responsive, professional, and genuinely kind. I shared a few photos ahead of my consultation and Carla took the look I was going for and turned it into something that suited me perfectly. She was totally open to feedback I shared about wanting to tone down my brows and eyelash extensions for a more natural look on the actual day, while also sharing recommendations for what not to change so I didn't look washed out in my photos. I felt beautiful – but not overdone – on my wedding day and that's all thanks to Carla and her team. They also did hair and makeup for my mom, grandmother, aunt, and mother-in-law, who all have short hair and don't wear much makeup, and they were extremely happy with how it turned out, as well. Carla Pressley Hair & Make Up was one of the easiest vendors I worked with and I'd hire them again in a heartbeat. -

Carla did my hair and make up for my wedding this past November. She gave me everything I was hoping for and more and was definitely one of my favorite wedding vendors I worked with throughout my whole experience. Carla was professional and amazing at what she does and I received so many compliments and people at my wedding asking who did my hair and makeup. On top of all that, Carla is so sweet and personable and was a calming force the morning I was getting ready which was much needed during the wedding stress. 10/10 recommend!! -

My experience with her with so smooth, organized, easy and reliable. She is extremely talented, patient, caring and I had the best morning getting ready with her. Although I didn't have any bridesmaids, she did my sisters' make up/hair and they all looked STUNNING! She even helped my mother in law style her hair very last minute. Carla is the best!!
Carla is the absolute best, and so is her team. Leading up to the wedding, Carla helped me go over the timeline and make sure it all made sense- she and her assistant, Erin, were always quick to reply too which is so helpful in the last week or two of planning.
I have never felt more beautiful than I did on our wedding day! I knew she was an amazing artist from her Instagram, but she truly went above and beyond on our wedding day. When we booked, I was unsure if I should keep Carla around an extra few hours for touchups, and it turned out to be the best decision I made! You don't realize until the day of the wedding how helpful it is to have someone to touch up your lips after eating, or hair after being in an Uber- it didn't even feel like an extra, but rather a necessity. She even put my veil on me!
Aside from her expertise, Carla and her team helped keep us on schedule and kept me at ease throughout the day. I'm not a big makeup person, and Carla totally understood how I wanted to look- glam but not TOO made up (the trial we did helped too). She and her team also made me entire bridal party look and feel amazing- I could tell even my Grandma, who can be a little apprehensive, felt (and looked!) really beautiful.
It felt like I had a supportive friend beside me through each step, who just happened to also be able to keep me looking my absolute best. She made sure I drank water and didn't mind when I messed up my lips 50 times from eating.
Overall- book Carla!!! And have her stay for touchups, she rocks! -

I chose Carla Pressley to do my hair and makeup for my wedding day as well as all of my bridesmaids and Mom and Step Mom. She had two assistants on the day due to how many people we had.
On the day she was so calm and comforting in such a stressful time, which was beyond appreciated!! She seamlessly coordinated with her assistants and produced flawless work! I spoke with her that day and told her I had been having breakouts and eye problems due to stress and she helped me through it and made me feel so much better.

Carla and her assistant provided the hair and makeup services for myself and some family members for my wedding in April, and I could not have been happier! Getting my hair and makeup done professionally is typically an awkward/anxiety inducing process for me, but Carla made it so comfortable and fun! From the initial consultation, Carla took the time to listen carefully to what I wanted and review my reference photos. She then walked me through the whole consultation and made adjustments until I was 100% happy. On the day of the wedding, Carla was such a positive and calming presence. Oh … my … goodness!! Carla is absolute magic and a complete pleasure in all ways. She just did our wedding (myself and my two sisters) and we all looked stunning. I can't recommend Carla enough - she is professional, warm, organized, timely, enthusiastic, and knows how to help you look like your best version of yourself. Carla did my hair and makeup for our small August 2020 wedding, and I can confirm that she takes extensive precautions to keep herself and her clients safe in this COVID-19 environment. She communicates those precautions and other expectations clearly upfront so everyone is prepared. I definitely recommend doing a makeup trial - it's worth the additional expense to go through ideas for hair and makeup, but more than that, I really enjoyed getting to know Carla and was so excited to see her again on my wedding day. If Carla is available for the day of your wedding, don't think twice... book her! From my trial to getting ready on my wedding day, Carla and her team did an amazing job. From the very first trial I had, I knew that she was going to be great. Within the short timeframe we had, she executed three very different hairstyles for me to try to see which I would like best on my big day. On the day of my wedding they were so efficient, took into account what each bridesmaid wanted to look like, and make the hectic morning more calm.
My mom isn't big on wearing makeup, and so she was worried that she wouldn't look like herself, but Carla did such an incredible job and my mom looked stunning. She and her team are such professionals at what they do, and I recommend them 150%. -

My wedding was multicultural and there were a range of skin tones and hair textures to work with. Carla & team were very knowledgeable and made everyone look and feel amazing . Carla was fabulous! From the first message I sent her, she was detailed, thorough and so helpful. I really didn't have a great sense of what I wanted for my wedding hair/makeup but she was very patient with me at our trial and showed me options I hadn't even thought to consider. There were some in-process changes over who in the wedding party was getting their hair and makeup done, but Carla was flexible and helpful throughout. On the wedding morning, she was prompt and ready to go, despite the fact not all of my people were likewise. I loved my hair and makeup and my friends and family loved what she did for them. Carla went above and beyond the whole day. She even offered a makeup touch-up to a wedding party member who'd previously and adamantly declined professional services, which really meant a lot to me. Carla came with us from the hotel to the venue and helped keep everything looking fresh and beautiful in the August heat. And throughout the day, as I dealt with family drama and nerves Carla was always there with a kind word or reassurance. And she laughed at all of my jokes! As someone who doesn't normally spend a lot of time/thought on hair and makeup, I'm so glad I chose to work with Carla. She was the perfect choice on this day when I really did want to get everything right. -

Simply the best!
I've known Carla for years so when I got engaged I knew exactly who was going to do my hair and make up for my wedding day. Carla and her team are the calm you need in an often hectic bridal suite. She took the time to make sure me and my entire bride tribe including our moms and flower girl looked their absolute best. The weather on my day was perfect (though a little hot in the sun). Carla was right there with an umbrella to shield my sensitive skin from the rays. She thinks of everything!!! I was so happy to have Carla around for touch-ups throughout first looks and the pre-ceremony bridal party pictures. She also stuck around for post-ceremony touch-ups to make sure my lipstick was in place and my eye make up was unphased by the happy tears! I began my search for a hair and makeup artist over 6 months before our July 5th wedding. We planned our wedding long distance so I spent quite a lot of time reading reviews and looking at portfolios of work. Carla stood out to me, she had nothing but amazing reviews and her body of work was stunning. When I scheduled my hair and makeup trial, she was so prompt in reaching out to me and sent a very detailed questionnaire. We spend over three hours together during my trial and tried about every hair style on Pintrest that I could find! I loved all of them so much I couldn't bring myself to make a decision. Between my wedding party and family we had a total of 11 ladies having hair and makeup done. Carla was perfectly punctual on the big day and brought more than enough help to finish everyone on time. Everyone was so happy with their hair and makeup, Carla did an amazing job bringing to life each ladies vision including mine. Overall I couldn't of asked for a more wonderful experience, Carla is a true professional and is a master at her craft. I highly recommend her services to any bride who wants to look flawless on their wedding day.
