  I was married last weekend (10/14/17) at my family home in Annapolis, MD and it was the most magical day - largely in part to the lovely Clare Palace!
  
  We had a longer engagement (18 months) and one of the very first vendors we booked was our officiant as I wanted to have plenty of time for her to get to know us as a couple and write a very personal ceremony. Ironically, we did not originally pick Clare but found her by happy accident when our first officiant had a family emergency 3 months before the wedding and had to cancel. Luckily, she put us in touch with Clare who was phenomenal.
  
  Clare was so responsive in immediately pulling all our original questionnaires into a beautiful first draft, turned around a second draft very quickly, and had great ideas for how to organize the family and bridal party processional. She ran a very efficient rehearsal, and her "performance" on the actual wedding day was A++. Clare has a very bubbly personality and a charming British accent.
  
  These days I feel like so many non-religious ceremonies are over in the blink of an eye, but it was one of the more important aspects of the day to me and my husband. Yes, I wanted to have a great party (and we did), but the marriage ceremony was the whole reason we were having a wedding. We wanted it to be authentic to us as a couple and a special moment that our guests would actually remember.
  
  Clare delivered and then some! Every single guest I spoke to complimented me on the ceremony and asked how we found Clare. My father even singled her out in his welcome speech - stating that of all his children to get married (I'm 4 out of 6) that it was the most personal, emotional beautiful ceremony he'd witnessed. Maybe not the smartest move, Dad, but I appreciate it.
  
  I could go on and on - but I'll stop there. Book Clare. Do it now! You'll be so happy you did.

  Clare Palace did a wonderful job officiating our wedding a few weeks ago! We found Clare online and she responded to our inquiry within a few hours. We had a lovely conversation so she could get to know us and we could get to know her and feel comfortable with her. Clare ensured we stuck to a timeline for our vows and ceremony script. We chose the package where she provided a few template script verses, and we chose which ones we wanted and added in our own if we liked. Clare was very flexible and worked through a few drafts to ensure the script was perfect. On the day of the ceremony, she arrived early and was so pleasant and professional. She officiated without a hitch! Her delivery was professional, yet also soft and personable. Everyone loved her! I highly recommend Clare - she is the real deal!

  Clare was a delight to work with, from beginning to end. She worked closely with my partner and me to understand our vision for the ceremony. Our friends and family are a very diverse group from all over the world, and Clare made sure that her beautiful ceremony reflected this diversity and ambraced all. Many of our guests told us that it was the most moving, personal wedding ceremony they had seen, and I completely agree! Cannot recommend her heartily enough.

  We contacted 4 officiants registered in DC before we talked with Clare. Clare was very pleasant to work with and provided creative ideas and guidance along the way. She will work with you to give you the ceremony you want. She provided scripts of the ceremony and allowed us to change whatever parts we wanted to customize. She has a wonderful demeanor and adapted to the fast changing environment at our wedding. It was an outdoor ceremony and the rain was threatening. Clare was calm and collected as we decided whether to move inside or stay with an outdoor ceremony. She kept the ceremony organized and everything went smoothly. Her organization is her strongest trait, She politely reminded us to keep on track for approving the ceremony scripts as we fell behind when we were planning other aspects of the wedding. That is on top of her wonderful British accent which added so much charm to the ceremony. We highly recommend her.

  Working with Clare is a dream. We planned our entire wedding in a month and Clare was ready for it. She was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the whole process. Our ceremony was amazing--so heartfelt and personal. We are so incredibly happy to have chosen her to officiate our wedding. We highly recommend her!

  Clare is professional, flexible, and such a pleasure to work with! I currently live in Oregon and my husband is in the military training on the east coast. I planned our elopement in DC from across the country and she made the whole experience easy and stress free. She was able to get our marriage license for us which took a lot of stress off our shoulders. She is very responsive and also took the time to video chat with me. The vows she put together for us were lovely and we are so glad we chose her.

  Clare was a fabulous officiant - my wife Tracy and I cannot recommend her strongly enough! We had a small, lovely wedding at the Old Stone House garden in Georgetown on a super-hot day. Tracy and I worked with Clare via Skype and email from New York (where we live) to chat and prepare our vows and ceremony. She had suggestions that helped us to start thinking about our vows and was open to our ideas for additions to the ceremony so that the process felt truly collaborative. Clare's good humor, professionalism and attentiveness made her a pleasure to work with, and we are so glad that we asked her to officiate!

  Due to my partner's military service, we needed to do the legal end of our marriage several months in advance of our actual wedding ceremony, so we hired Clare as our legal officiant to complete all of the necessary paperwork and met her at a coffee shop on The Hill to do the deed. Clare was extremely helpful, flexible, and so friendly- she was a delight to work with and made the process practically painless. After completing the paperwork, she submitted it to the courthouse and got several extra certified copies for us, which ended up being a huge help in the end. We only spent about twenty minutes with her, but I can tell she loves what she does and cares very deeply about creating the wedding experience her couples deserve and want. She is extremely pleasant, well-spoken, and kind, so I'm sure she would do a lovely job of officiating a full-ceremony including readings, reflections, and vows. Highly recommended.

  Clare Palace was a wonderful part of our wedding ceremony. She is extremly professional, very well organized, and took care of all the marriage license details so we could focus on other things. Her lively spirit, and magical voice, made our day all the more special! I highly reccomend Clare!

  Clare was a wonderful officiant. She was highly recommended to me by my wedding planner. I currently live in Florida and she made it very easy to work with her while I was here in Florida. My husband and I filled out a short questionnaire for her and she created a short story about us two that she included in the ceremony which we absolutely loved. Our family and friends all commented on the lovely ceremony she put together - I highly recommend her! Thank you again, Clare :)

  We booked Clare with less then two weeks until our wedding day and she was able to perform a fabulous ceremony. Our only advice is to be sure to give her and you more time to prepare!

  We hired Clare Palace to be the officiant at our daughter’s wedding at the St. Regis Washington, D.C. Clare had been highly recommended to our daughter by some friends for whom she had performed a wedding last year. My daughter and son-in-law loved working with Clare during the months leading up to their wedding. She provided them with a list of possible readings and assisted them with writing their vows. Clare helped them decide on a processional order and was very responsive to phone calls and emails. Clare’s professional, yet relaxed, demeanor made our daughter’s wedding ceremony stress-free and her easy elegance helped to make it an unforgettable event.

  Clare is a wonderful officiant. She was very easy to work with across the entire experience, and stayed in regular contact while also allowing us the space to plan things at our own pace. Her suggestions helped to make our simple ceremony meaningful and uncomplicated, and she was open to our own wishes while also being an active part of our planning.
  
  My husband and I were delighted in every way with Clare's services. She is truly a treasure to work with.

  When Clare responded to my initial inquiry within twenty minutes (on a weeknight and at 9 pm!) I knew she was the right person to take care of our wedding. She exceeded our expectations in every way, from helping us through the process of getting the permit to filing the paperwork for us after the ceremony. I planned the wedding in the midst of two cross-country moves and had to change the date, venue, and the number of guests several weeks before the ceremony. Clare was completely unfazed and told me, "Just get all your ducks in a row and let me know when your plans are set."
  
  Although we had a secular ceremony, Clare graciously accomodated my request to incorporate wording that echoed more traditional vows. The language of her template was simple, sincere, and thoughtful; when my fiancé and I struck out and rewrote a few things to better suit us, she again did not mind one bit.
  
  The day of the ceremony, she got to the venue 30 minutes early and took time to chat with everyone and put them at ease. Not one part of our ten-minute ceremony was rushed. Clare made the most of it. I'm not a very emotional person, but when I saw her, I couldn't help giving her a hug and a kiss. She is that wonderful, and I couldn't recommend her highly enough.

  Clare was such a delight and we are thrilled we hired her to be our officiant! Our ceremony was so personalized to us as a couple because Clare is excellent at getting to know you well. Clare also helped us with our vows and suggested several readings. She was also an expert at keeping everyone organized and everything running on time.   First and foremost, Clare made it fun! Given my wife and I ride bikes we loved the fact that she rode her bike to our ceremony. She was professional, responsive, and attentive. We received great feedback from our guests regarding our ceremony and Clare!

  We needed a simple elopement ceremony, and we needed it fast. I contacted several possible officiants. Clare was the first to respond, and she has been absolutely phenomenal: she quickly took care of all the needed paperwork, put together a very nice little ceremony, and was extremely flexible regarding the time and place. All we had to do is to show up. She even took care of getting official copies of the marriage certificate. Amazing.

  My husband and I wanted a short and meaningful secular wedding since we are both of different faiths. I started searching online for an officiant and thankfully stumbled upon Clare's website! She was the only officiant we ended up screening as the others weren't as responsive and she made the process so easy and comfortable. Our first meeting was by phone and the second over Skype and everything was done virtually leading up to the wedding. Clare has suggestions for those who are clueless as to what they want and has a framework for people to work from if they have some of their own ideas. Thank you Clare!

  Clare's ability to understand and to express what is spiritually and emotionally important to the couple she is marrying meant more to us than we can say. She was able to articulate in a lovely way what marriage meant to us and the importance of this event to anyone who truly wants to commit their life to their partner.

  Clare was able to create a lovely ceremony with only days notice for my wedding to my partner. She listened to what we wanted, and didn't want and very flexible in the time. We very much wanted the 12/13/14 date and she found time to squeeze us in last minute. She was very professional and all of my guests found her charming, kind, and a delight to be around. She made our special day happen and helped with all the logistics and legalities of getting wed in DC.

  We started this process clueless as we're not a religious couple and neither one of us had strong feelings for the direction of the ceremony. We met Clare Palace and all of that changed. Clare flawlessly and intuitively uncovered all of the most important things about our relationship and crafted a completely customized ceremony that represented us to a tee. After filling out a short questionnaire, Clare provided us with many options for suggested welcomes, readings, vows, and blessings. We and all of our guests agree that her charm and grace made her the perfect fit for our wedding!

  We absolutely adored working with Clare. She has great ideas and understood we were trying to create something meaningful for the two of us to share as well as enjoyable for our family and friends. Clare listened diligently to our story, ideas and requests and the final experience couldn't have been better. We don't live in DC but Clare made herself readily available to us via email and Skype so the planning process, including sorting out our marriage license on our behalf, ran smoothly.
  
  Clare is enthusiastic and tries her best to ensure the whole process is very personal. We would highly recommend her to any couples searching for a celebrant.

  My Husband and I could not have asked for more than what Rev. Clare provided. We had a non-traditional wedding, which was hockey themed at the Verizon Center. On our first phone call after telling her our plan she immediately suggested that she wear a "ref" jersey which would have "Rev Palace" on the back of it. This worked with our hockey jersey attire perfectly! She was so pleasant and easy to work with and was very responsive with all questions. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and we had family and friends commenting about it for days! We highly recommend Rev. Clare Palace! Thank you again for an amazing day!

  My (new) husband and I decided to get married two days before our desired date. We reached out to Clare to see if she could be willing to officiate an 'I do! I do!' service on such short notice. She agreed with no fuss. My husband and I were still deciding on a time and place up until the evening before yet she never complained and graciously agreed to our request for a Sunday ceremony at 7am. She arrived on time and was very professional. She submitted our marriage certificate to the DC courthouse first thing Monday morning. I highly recommend Clare because we put her through the ringer yet she remained very professional and open to our ideas and changes.

  Clare was so fantastic. We are so happy that we chose her as our wedding celebrant. We had a cross-cultural wedding, and she is so open, friendly, and a joy to have had her as part of our special day. From the time we made contact with her to the day of our wedding day, she was in contact with us. There was full transparency of her process. She offered a variety of vows to choose from, and we really liked them. We had the opportunity to also skype with her after we first contacted her. She was very flexible in accomodating some extra readings by family members in our ceremony. We highly recommend Clare and both of our families agree.

  Clare is an absolute angel. She is a bright star, bringing joy and enthusiasm to the entire process—in addition to incredible professionalism throughout. On the day of the ceremony, we were two anxious brides whom she handled with ease. Her joy and energy are so infectious that she dissolved our concerns at every turn.   We contacted Clare with the desire for a professional, caring and enthusiastic officiant. We were on a compressed schedule, but she was very responsive to all of our concerns and provided helpful advice when requested. She was quite enthusiastic and performed superbly. We didn't worry about a thing and had a wonderfully perfect event.

  Clare was extremely easy to work with and everyone loved the job she did. We had the short ceremony and it struck the perfect balance between being long enough to feel like a ceremony without being so long that you're anxious to get it over with :-).

  Clare was delightful to have as our wedding Celebrant, from our first meeting we knew she was right for us. Our custom wedding ceremony told our story, and an added bonus is Clare's lovely British accent. Our family and friends all commented on the lovely ceremony she crafted.

  Clare was wonderful.I had known her from cutting her hair. She eased all of my fears about Hastings& my wedding. The vows were perfect.Her suggestions were right on the mark. Just a delight to work with.My nerves took a back seat thanks to her.

  Clare was absolutely wonderful! She was available whenever I needed her. She made our wedding day so wonderful and very special. I am so happy she was apart of the most important day of our lives! Thank you Clare!

  We contacted Capitol Hill Celebrant via email within a week of the ceremony. Not a recommended approach to any special occasion however, Rev. Clare responded within hours, was quite gracious & agreed to work with us within the schedule allowed. She warmly assisted us with how to gain the legal marriage certificate and informed us that she would assist with filing the certificate afterwards.
  Pros: Quality exceeded expectations, displayed effective communication skills, lovely personality carries a professional demeanor with customers [and difficult guests], considers her quality of work to be important
  Cons: First meeting began a few minutes late, but we understand DC traffic in DC. She assured us she would be early for the ceremony and was.
  We agreed to meet the next evening to tell her our love story. She observed all the small details; she paid attention to the plans for the ceremony, participants and other important information. Rev. Clare actively listened to all our requests and background information contributing within the communication to ultimately create a quality wedding service that revealed real enthusiasm. We received the ‘wedding ceremony’ draft the next morning to proofread, verify and approve. The details were brilliant; she truly understood what message we wanted to communicate, while incorporating our own written vows within and a romantic summation. Approved with no revisions.
  Rev. Clare Palace arrived at the appointed time looking quite professional, standing tall with grace, and dignified in self esteem. She patiently dealt with my family members and contributed frequently in discussions. {Thank you!} Delivery of the ceremony was beautiful; confident, patient with my tears and full of assurance and all in attendance thought that the words and presentation were lovely.
