I came here for my first location to look for my wedding dress and the second dress I tried on was THE one. Every staff member was so kind and the entire experience was better than I could've imagined. I walked into my appointment a little nervous but as soon as my family and I walked in we were greeted warmly and supported through every step of the process. If you're unsure of where to find your dream dress plus a dream experience, Brides for a Cause is definitely the place to go! Plus by getting your dress you're helping local charities around you, sounds like a win to me. -

Great shop for a low budget
Overall a 10/10 experience. I emailed the shop beforehand and asked if they had anything similar to what I envisioned. Elaine replied so quickly. Shortly after, I booked an appointment. In the shop, I loved being able to move at my own pace. The dress I ended up buying was originally $400 but I got it 50% off. Amazing deal! They also gave me a list of alteration and dry cleaning places that they recommended. Amazing staff! -

I had a great experience dress shopping. The staff was friendly, kind, and made it an easy process. I liked having the ability to make my own choices, look at all of the dresses, and purchased a dress for $200! It was fun to be in a dressing room with others. -

Impressive dress selection at affordable prices
I booked an appointment at Brides for a Cause uncertain if I was even going to buy a dress for my wedding. But Brides for a Cause made it easy for my to say "Yes to the Dress". They have a wonderful selection of dresses and the the prices are incredible. I got my sample dress for about a quarter of the original price. I also was able to get a very affordable cathedral veil. The staff were super helpful and very able to help you find dresses that you may I have missed while you grabbed your initial dresses.
The dressing area has 6 individual rooms surrounding a large central area. When I was there there were two to three others trying on dresses at the same time. I personally loved this as it is fun to see and support other people's dress making choices.
The sessions are typically booked for 1 hour, but Brides for a Cause let me stay past my time to make a decision on which dress I wanted to buy, which I really appreciated. I would say, if you could book two back to back sessions that might be helpful if you are planning on picking and buying a dress.
They also helpfully provided a list of people to reach out for alterations for the dress, and I did end up choosing someone from the list.
One thing I will say is I am white and I bought a size 12 wedding dress. They had a large range of size selection with the most amount of dresses in sizes 8-14. I think a lot of the dresses with mesh components seemed likely to work better with lighter skin.
I overall had an incredible time at Bride for a Cause and cannot recommend them enough. -

I highly recommend brides to be to check out this store!!! I had a beautiful experience at Brides for Cause in Sac. I had my appointment this past weekend and we were all greeted with smiles and they thoroughly explained the process and wasted no time letting us dress shop! Abigail and Jessica were absolutely wonderful! I originally went in for a "reception" dress and ended up falling in-love with another wedding dress, as soon as I put it on, i knew it was for me, Abigail expressed how perfect it looked on me However because I already had a wedding dress, I was still indecisive about purchasing another one, I was very conflicted as I really loved this new one. Abigail told me to take a moment, go grab some coffee and she can hold the dress until the end of the day to give me time to think. I really appreciated that! I left for the day and could not stop thinking about the dress all night. I went back to the store the next morning and as soon as I walked in the first thing Abigail said was "welcome back Emmalynn" with a huge smile! I asked to try on the dress again. Jessica helped me put it on and I asked her to take a photo. When I tell you she took the best photos!! Every angle, down low, up high, front back, sides, she gave me a full on photo shoot in 2 minutes and I knew coming back was the best decision because I needed to leave with that dress! Abigail then helped me check out and we spoke about how great it is that 90% of the proceeds goes to charities that help and empower women as I work for a non profit myself that helps DV victims/survivors and empower women. I found my beautiful dream dress for a really good price and knowing that the sale is also for a good cause, it doesn't get any better than that?!! -

I had a great experience here and got my dress! The employees were great and they made it easy for me! I loved getting to scan the racks myself and go at my own pace. I found my dress here and this was the first and only store I had to shop at! Best of all, 90% of your purchase goes to charity! -

Absolutely perfect!
Brides for a cause was such an amazing experience! I was looking for places to shop for my wedding dress and came across them via google search. I read their story and what they do and knew I wanted to go there and shop for my dress. As soon as I walked in, everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly! I picked out some dresses to try on and ended up finding my dream dress in under an hour! It was originally marked at $3,500 and I got the dress and cathedral veil for $1,100. They were the first place I looked as a first time, newly engaged bride. It was a perfect place to dress shop and I can’t recommend them more! -

My mom and I stopped at Brides for a Cause just to take a look at the dresses and walked out with my dream wedding dress for a fraction of the cost! I did end up getting my dress tailored to perfectly fit my body, but it still ended up being cheaper than purchasing the dress new. I definitely recommend checking out Brides for a Cause as your first wedding dress shop because you will probably find your dream dress! -

Best wedding dress shopping experience ever! I went in on an afternoon in the middle of last week and there were no appointments after me. I had the whole store to myself and the assistant manager was so helpful! She let me try on as many dresses as I wanted and helped me search for dresses. She ended up finding me the dress that I said yes to! She helped me zip up the dresses and also took videos and photos of me in the dresses in order to help me decide. This was the least stressful experience I’ve had and is unlike any other bridal dress shopping experience I’ve had thus far. I found my dream dress at a literal fraction of the cost and I could not be happier to donate to such a good cause. I ended up walking out with my dream dress, veil, sparkly belt, and shoes all in one day. I’m still over the moon and cannot stop taking about it. Thank you Brides for a cause! -

We had an amazing experience with Wanda. She knew what my daughter was looking for in a dress and gave us many choices. She came with one and said " I think this is her" Nikki came out of the room and we all cried it was the one. Wanda I can not Thank you enough for your help. -

Andrea was so helpful in explaining the process, and she let my sister and I do our own thing, giving us thoughtful suggestions when useful. Andrea was incredibly helpful! They have a great selection of 0, 2, 4s, with accessories to match. Super clean and roomy area to try everything on. The full hour was enough time to try on 5 dresses, narrow down to a few and pick the final one for your big day. You can pick them out yourself, low pressure sales, and relaxed environment. Pricing was fantastic, my dress was $350, veil $70, and belt $30. Come check them out! -

Our daughter is getting married in December, and has been searching for her wedding dress. She has visited multiple boutiques and stores, throughout the San Diego area. The dresses were lovely, however the price tags often made them obsolete. Our daughter loves beautiful thing's, and we truly wanted her to have whatever dress she chose, and felt the most beautiful in. However, money is always a factor, and it made us feel that we might not be able to afford her dream dress.
Then she discovered, Brides for a Cause. Everything changed, she was able to pick an EXQUISITE gown, and we could comfortably purchase it for her. It filled our hearts with joy, to be able to fulfill this dream for her. Beyond our own personal joy, we also felt so good about supporting a nonprofit, which assists women experiencing multiple difficulties.
We are beyond grateful for this amazing organization, and everyone was beyond accommodating, helpful, and seemed to really care about my daughter and her dreams.

I love everything about Brides for a Cause! As a bride, I feel like the whole wedding industry is very unsustainable and somewhat takes advantage of brides and their families. So when I found BFAC, I felt so relief that I could support an awesome cause & make a more sustainable choice while planning my wedding!
My wedding is 10 months out so I decided to start my dress hunt at Brides for a Cause. I figured if I didn't find something on my first trip, I could come again next month to check the inventory again. I had a specific idea of what type of dress I wanted. I was told I could try on 15 dresses. The shop has lots of natural light and the dressing rooms are bright and comfortable. I only found six dresses that were in the style/size that I needed/wanted. One of those six ended up being perfect for me! I put the dress on hold for 24hrs to think about it and research if that was what I wanted. It was donated by a high-end, small & sustainable designer, Laudae from BC, Canada as a sample. My Mom and I were shocked that the dress at BFAC was 70% of the normal retail price! The staff at BFAC gave me a list of recommended tailors/dry cleaners that could help clean & do any alterations. I called and made an appt with one today- she seemed happy to have a good relationship with BFAC!
Granted I am a low-key, millennial bride, but Brides for a Cause exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend giving their inventory a chance! -

Awesome place to get your wedding dress!!!
I had a great experience at Brides for a Cause - San Diego! Andrea in particular was fantastic at helping select and style dresses for me to try. This store was incredibly attentive, flexible, and was not crowded during my appointment. I had tons of space to try on dresses and for my guests to sit (one of them had a sprained ankle and the team was so accommodating). Despite this store having opened recently, they have a large selection of great quality dresses, all reasonably priced and going to great causes. I highly recommend this place! -

I visited Brides for a Cause in Tacoma, WA. The volunteer staff was helpful and welcoming. The dresses are all donated and in great shape. There is a huge selection for many sizes, but as a larger bride the selection was limited- again they are donation based. Great prices, if you find a dress you love! -

I was amazed at the selection, quality and variety of styles Brides for a Cause had to choose from. It was honestly hard to narrow down all the beautiful dresses I tried on. I'm a size 0/2 and was a little worried there wouldn't be many options in my size, but I was very wrong. The staff were so kind and were able to answer my questions regarding alterations and what would and wouldn't be possible. I would highly recommend checking them out! Prices were great, selection was amazing and it felt good to have my money go towards such a great cause. -

I had the BEST experience shopping at Brides for a Cause! My brother’s fiancée got her dress there and highly recommended it to me, and I’m so glad she did! I went with my gals December 2022 during their end of the year sale. The shop is clean, well organized, and shockingly calm in energy. They were super sweet and accommodating even though traffic made me late for my appointment. I tried on around half a dozen dresses, and an EXTREMELY friendly and helpful worker caught my vibe and pulled the dress I ultimately ended up picking!! She said it had just come in and they hadn’t put it on the floor yet. I was super impressed by her and her knowledge of the inventory. They also had my dream veil from Tailored Tulle, and that’s when I got emotional. Everything about the day was perfect and I am so so so grateful!! I recommend Brides for a Cause to EVERY person I meet, and now TWO of my friends have found their dream dresses in the last month alone. Go go go! You won’t regret it! -

Brides for a cause was a fantastic experience. It was cheaper than the other bridal salon we went to, better selection and dresses, and supported fantastic causes. The staff were friendly, helpful, and kind. I was able to get a gorgeous $2000 wedding dress for $500 that had never been worn by a bride before. I tried on 15 dresses, brought my friends and family, and had a wonderful time trying on dresses with other brides nearby. Absolutely fantastic experience! -

I had a great experience at Brides for a Cause! The selection was way bigger/better than I was expecting. The staff was friendly and helpful, they will help as much as you want/need, but let you do your own thing if you prefer. The process of booking an appointment time slot was easy and I got email reminders about my time I booked. At the end of my hour time slot I appreciated that they didn’t just kick me out, they allowed me to finish and said no rush, I ended up being there closer to an hour and a half. A lot of the dresses I tried on were around $300 so great prices! I would definitely recommend Brides for a Cause to anyone else in need of a wedding dress! -

I bought my first wedding dress at BFAC Seattle in February 2020, I then had to postpone my wedding by a year and by 2021, I realized my first dress wasn't going to work (it just didn't fit the vibe anymore - even though I loved it!). I went to BFAC 6 weeks before my 9/21 wedding and found a sample Hailey Paige dress for less than $600, valued at well over $5000 retail. Both times at BFAC I worked with awesome staff members and everyone there is so supportive, I got tons of complements on dresses from other brides, moms, sisters, etc.. which made dress shopping even more fun. My first dress was gray toned and my second was blue and blush toned (we called it the "mermaid dress" haha), so if straight white dresses aren't your vibe - they still have a selection for you!
There are communal mirrors/dressing rooms and definitely bring a good friend to help you get in and out of dresses, but the staff are super knowledgeable and the dress selection is really large!
I also purchased a wedding cape from the Portland store (off of their instagram/via phone) and had a great experience with them - they were super kind and supportive.
My one word of advice is that I did go to a traditional wedding dress store first and that really helped me understand what I liked about certain dresses, the right language to use, and helped to narrow in my vision, but if you're someone who wears dresses regularly you could probably skip this step. Also be open to going a few different times or to a few different locations to find the dress you want in your size, and keep an open mind!
Finally, I LOVE that I didn't have a dress custom for me that I was never going to wear again. After my wedding, I returned both dresses to BFAC and felt way better about the ecological impact of that, not to mention supporting women's charities in the process. 10/10. -

The new store in Sacramento is right in mid-town next to some awesome brunch/lunch spots with free street parking on the weekend! The boutique is smaller with about six dressing rooms (4 in use for social distancing) and have a concentrated selection of dresses from size 2-18. Bridal sizing is even worse than street sizing, so don't be afraid to go up a few sizes since many of the dresses are samples or donated dresses with alterations. I ended up getting a size 14 Paloma Blanca sample that fit nearly perfect on me (I'm a street size 8-10). The ladies were wonderful assisting me both times. First with my sister and mom, and next alone while my fiance sat on the bench by the door hiding me from view with headphones in so he doesn't spoil the selection process for himself. (He's a good sport). I found my dress after coming in to try on a dress I had on hold and I felt super supported and encouraged to make a decision that was right for me and not what my family might have influenced. Best part was that my dress ended up being nearly 82% off the sample sale price!! So check out their locations especially if you are a bargain hunter, proceeds also benefit various women's charities and the have accessories, veils, bridesmaids and mother of the bride occasion dresses too! -

I'm all for a more affordable bridal shop in Sacramento. And one that does good? I love it! Booking was easy and the process was fun. You're allowed to try on 15 dresses total during your visit, and the time goes fast! Bring a friend if you can.
During the experience, I realized that it was so fun because I was actually able to try on dresses my size. For reference, I'm 4'10 and 105 pounds (size 2-4 dress). At other bridal shops, I was trying on size 10+ dresses, having them clipped onto me, and having to use my imagination. It was SO NICE to be able to try on a dress that I'd actually be able to go home with! The customer service was excellent. I had trouble deciding between 2 styles and they put it on hold for 24 hours. Thank you for the awesome selection and great experience! :)
FYI, the majority of their dresses are samples donations from other bridal stores! For a highly discounted price, you can get your hands on a new designer wedding gown! -

Virtual Dress Dash Experience
I bought my dress virtually from Brides for a Cause, so I can’t review the physical store experience. I bought my dress from their virtual dress dash January 2021. The dress list was released a few days prior to I was able to look up what each of the dresses looked like, they had the measurements according to the designer listed as well. On Facebook live, they went through each dress which was assigned a number. You commented sold # __ and the first comment got the free. It was an overall really good experience and there weren’t any issues during the virtual sale. My dress was shipped to me for $30 and arrived about a week later. It was placed in a garment bag and carefully placed into a box. It was a bit of a gamble buying a dress online but for such a low price point I was willing to risk it. Upon reviewing my dress all the anxiety of disliking it in person went away! I would definitely recommend participating in any of their virtual sales! -

They didn’t have the dress in April when I called but they emailed me in August saying that for one in and could mail it to me! I am getting married n a month and got engaged one month prior. A good friend of mine told me about Brides for a Cause (in fact raved about them). I hadn’t heard about them and was of course in need of a dress, so checked them out. So glad I did!! The dresses were beautiful and the gals working there were awesome!! I found my dress from BHLDN there and can’t wait to wear it. Also, who doesn’t love designer dresses at a discount?!!

My dress was FREE! I attended a Brides Across America event hosted by Seattle Brides for a Cause boutique. With proof of my current EMT license and proof of active working status I picked my dress out and paid $0. I only paid for alterations at a local vendor, and it was truly my dream dress. I appreciate Brides for a Cause boutique, who donates their profits to charity, and Brides across America who donates wedding gowns to women in public service all over the US. At the event all the women where supportive of each other and found a community in the store. The stylists made it a fun experience for everyone and actually picked this dress for me after it didn't stand out on the rack! I'm incredibly grateful I received this gift and I hope more brides find out about it in time to receive as well. -

I hate shopping, and was dreading the experience of trying on a wedding dress - having a stranger shoehorn me into a dress that didn’t fit me to begin with was an actual nightmare. I was so relieved to find Brides for a Cause, because it totally took away the stress and pressure of the shopping experience. The store had plenty of options, and the staff was so friendly. I found a great dress at a great discount, and I feel good about the fact that my money is going to help charities and not the wedding-industrial complex. This definitely isn’t the place for you if you’re looking for a traditional “bridal experience” but I wasn’t looking for that, so it was perfect. I highly, highly recommend and I’ll be telling my friends who are engaged to be coming here too! -

I loved this shop! If going to boutique second hand stores is something you enjoy, then this is a great choice for you.
The service was excellent, the ladies that worked there are knowledgeable and helpful. I usually wear a curvy size 6/8, but I was concerned how "dress sizing" was going to work. The ladies recommended starting with a size 10, 12, and 14 just to see how the fit was. I'm glad I did! We ended up going with a size 12 to fit my bust and hips, and there was plenty of selection to choose from. Brands, prices, and the condition were labeled clearly on the tags, which made knowing what you were getting so much easier.
I was so happy to find my dress here! And it feels even better knowing that the money is going towards a great cause.
Since everything is donated, I would recommend looking for dresses here with plenty of time before your wedding, and checking in frequently as the dresses change constantly. -

I just happened past this place when I was visiting my friend in Portland. What a great find!! My least favorite thing about dress shopping was how someone had to grab the dress, and put me in and take me out. Not here! I love not being handled by a consultant! We were able to pick out our own and try them on, on our own. I found one that fit me like a dream and still had the tags on it!! Best part? They were having a sale and the dress ended up only being $150! I came back months later and bought my veil. -

I just bought my dress from BFAC after spending days shopping at high-end boutiques. Not only was the selection of dresses wide in variety, size, and style, but the staff was so helpful--all I had to do was ask and they took pictures, helped pin to my shape, and gave advice (I went in by myself!). They had a small space to work with with the amount of girls who came in looking for dresses and did their best to get everyone fitting rooms and make them feel comfortable. Prices were reasonable and tags detailed whether dresses had damage or dirt. If I had a reason, I'd shop there again! -

I found the perfect wedding dress at Brides For A Cause. What a great store! The staff are wonderful. The dresses are affordable. Not stuffy or pretentious store at all. Love this place! And the proceeds go to women's charities! Highly recommend! -

Such an awesome experience! They have options for most sizes, defiantly more options for sizes 8 and smaller. Still I got my dress for $200 originally $2000 and it was brand new. It's defiantly worth checking out even for people who don't know if they would find something or not. They even have parking in the back so you're not fighting for spots. Tip- Go to the restroom before you go because they don't have one. Highly recommended though! -

I am so glad that I started (and finished, in one trip!) my dress shopping experience at Brides for a Cause Seattle! It was exactly the kind of experience I was hoping for: relaxed, friendly.. I didn't feel pressured in any way, and very quickly found the dress I'd been dreaming of! For the budget and/or eco- friendly bride, this is the place to shop! The prices will keep you smiling, and knowing that you're supporting a nonprofit organization that donates to women-focused charities will add an extra layer of love to your special day! The kind and helpful staff made shopping fun and easy, and they even gave me a list of local shops to check out for my alterations. Though my dress showed a tiny bit of wear on the edges of the train and was two sizes too big, it was completely renewed and fit like a glove after a trip to Zeita Studios! Thank you Brides for a Cause!! I'm sure shopping at the Portland location would be just as wonderful! (More photos to come!) -

What a lovely place with a fabulous mission! I had a delightful experience shopping for my wedding dress at the Portland shop. Brides for a Cause features a gorgeous array of dresses, reasonable prices, and excellent customer service. I was able to put my top two dresses on hold for 24 hours so that I could come back with my family the next day and make a final decision. They even have a small selection of bridesmaid dresses for $20 each. I went away thrilled with my dress and even more thrilled with where my money was going -- to the women-focused charities that Brides for a Cause supports. Cheers to that! -
Courtney Sent on 07/14/2018I found a beautiful dress for less than $200 at Brides for a Cause. They provide such a wonderful service for brides on a budget (and those who are mindful of recycling/donating). I cannot imagine having purchased a dress anywhere else.
