Dream experience for this long distance bride
Planning a wedding in Florida when you live in Hawaii is an extremely daunting task. I knew I needed help and my gut told me within minutes of talking to Katie that she and her team were exactly what I was looking for. Beyond knowing I wanted blue hydrangeas and a complimenting color palette, I didn’t have a lot of expectations for design. After answering some “get to know you” style questions we met with Katie for a three day whirlwind of vendor meetings. With her help and meticulously prepared design board (that included samples when possible!), we settled on nearly every major design decision in one meeting and left ready to sign all of our vendor contracts.
Seeing all of those pieces come to life on the day of was beyond what I ever could have imagined. Katie’s attention to every detail and placement of unique personal touches that represented us as a couple was incredible and something we, as well as all of our guests, felt and appreciated on the big day.
Our top priority overall was that everyone have fun and WOW did we ever! A month later and family and friends are still telling us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. Spending the day not having to worry about a thing was the best gift myself, my husband and family could have asked for. We can’t thank the Blue Ribbon Weddings team enough for making our wedding everything we wanted and more. We will cherish these memories forever! -

Em and Katie have been THE DREAM wedding planners! Em was my lead planner and every time we met for planning meetings it was like I was getting together with a friend! These ladies are the perfect balance of professionalism, confidants and creativity! They helped make the most magical experience and day so seamless and catered to me and my Groom! Having planners is probably my biggest piece of advice as a bride but having Katie and Em at Blue Ribbon Weddings as your planners is my highest recommendation! Best Wedding Planning Decision - Blue Ribbon Weddings
Starting the wedding planning process can feel daunting, magical, overwhelming, and exciting all at the same time. My advice to any couple starting their wedding planning journey would be to start with selecting your wedding planner and I could not sing my praises highly enough for the Blue Ribbon Weddings team. Trusting your vendors is incredibly important and investing in those you trust will make all the difference. When you’re in the hands of Katie and her team you will have nothing to fret from the get-go.
I thank my lucky stars that I had heard about Katie and her team through the grapevine and knew that if we needed anything for our wedding day, it was her as our planner. Many people speak highly of her team’s organization, communication, thoughtfulness, attention to detail, eye for design, and the list goes on. I had the pleasure of working most closely with Katie and Em - and boy, was everyone right. Not only did they live up to these qualities, Katie and Em surpassed their shining reputation by leaps and bounds. By the time our wedding day came along, we knew if anything unpreventable happened or if even the tiniest detail was slightly askew, Katie and Em would be there to make things right or even better than we planned for.
Over our almost two year engagement, they stayed engaged with me, learning as much as possible about my now-husband and I to ensure our day was personalized to our style, preferences, and priorities. I am a perfectionist and was thinking about small details very early on - from the style and design of reserved seating signs to fitting many specific moments into our timeline (like hiding with my maid of honor before the ceremony for a few deep breaths, pouring champagne into a champagne tower for the perfect photo-op, or having a moment to sneak away and make an entrance into the cocktail hour). Not a single detail was missed and she heard every single one of our wishes with eagerness to make our day our dream come true. I cannot fail to mention how Katie and Em circled a coffee table with countless shades of blush, ivory, and sand-colored linens seeing how the fabrics looked in different light and from different angles. I laugh at this memory a bit now but cherish how they took the task just as seriously as I did because they knew how important a small detail like this was to me.
Beyond wedding planning checklists, Katie went above and beyond in many other ways that we began to call her our fairy godmother. From ensuring I had a pair of sweatpants to hide from the drizzling rain after my spray tan, providing the best advise on wedding etiquette, to celebrating a job over and move states away during the planning process, Katie knows how to make every moment matter, is there by your side, and even 10 steps ahead. I found myself feeling as though I gained friends in the process, not just a husband. After accepting a job in another state, many people asked how we would plan our wedding from afar. Thankfully, this was not a worry for us. I did not carry a single doubt that Katie and Em would ensure the process was seamless - and our in-person planning turned virtual (pre-COVID) and they handled the new situation with ease and never missed a beat.
While I spent many hours dreaming up details I wanted to personalized and focusing on personal items, Katie and Em elevated our vision and made it more than we could ever dream up. I confidently tell everyone I know (and even those that I don’t - haha) that choosing Blue Ribbon Weddings would be the best decision they could make for their wedding planning process. Being able to peacefully sleep the night before our wedding was never something I had to worry about until I laid in bed the evening before - I have Katie and Em to thank for this and every single teensy tiny detail that was perfectly put in place for us.
I cannot recommend Blue Ribbon Weddings enough. I would choose to work with them a million times again with them at the tip-top of our priority list. -

Best decision you'll make!
Where do I even start? There is not a single detail about our wedding that wasn’t made better thanks to Katie and her team at Blue Ribbon Weddings. Katie’s passion for weddings, attention to detail, and incredible tact when working with a wide range of vendors made our day and the months that led up to it an absolute joy. She elevated every idea I brought to the table and contributed helpful suggestions that ultimately curated the most beautiful aesthetic and ambiance. From our initial meeting to the day of, she accounted for every detail you could imagine — the sentimental, the logistical, and the many “I would’ve never even thought of that!” issues — and tackled it all with the most infectious, positive, can-do attitude.
When I first got engaged, I was on the fence about whether I needed a wedding coordinator, and I can legitimately say that hiring Blue Ribbon was the best decision I made. Not only are the packages fairly priced, but I was able to save on several other line items because Katie’s experience helped me know when it was worth it to splurge and when it was smarter to save. There are so many difficult decisions to make all at once when planning starts; hiring Blue Ribbon should be your first and easiest one!
Katie is such a pleasure to work with and was so on top of details, I don’t think I could have been a bridezilla even if I wanted to. ;) That said, I can be particular and usually have very specific ideas of how I want something to look and feel. Katie took the time to ensure she understood what my vision was and went to bat for me several times with different vendors to make it happen. A few days before my wedding, a contract dispute with my most major vendor arose. What could have been a huge headache and taken up the limited time I had with out-of-town guests was a complete non-issue thanks to Katie. This is just one of the many examples I could share that illustrate how she offers couples so much more than event styling and timeline planning. The peace of mind she provided us was invaluable and when I think back on the days leading up, I am so grateful that all we had to think about was getting married. :)
I’m not exaggerating when I say that everyone who interacted with the Blue Ribbon team the day of the wedding — bridal party, family members, vendors, and even a few wedding guests — had only positive things to say about Katie and that they went out of their way to do so! The seamlessness of the event spoke to her expertise and her subtle but effective management style is legitimately impressive. I still don’t understand how she managed to be everywhere at all times and didn’t photobomb a single picture. haha
I could go on forever about how much I appreciate the work Katie and the Blue Ribbon team did for my wedding, so I’ll just say that I cannot recommend this wonderful company enough! -

I wish I could get married EVERY year!!! Other than saying 'Yes!' to my husband, making the decision to hire Blue Ribbon Weddings was the BEST decision I could have made!
Katie was my rock through the entire planning process! She was always available for a call, via email or text, and she had the best advice for every minute detail. I had a million crazy requests and Katie was there every step of the way with vendors that fit my needs, ideas to help make my vision become a reality, and she was the voice of reason when dealing with personal family dramas.
I cannot thank both Katie and Em enough for all of their hard work wedding planning and their flawless execution on the day of my wedding! Hiring Blue Ribbon Weddings will be the best decision you could make besides your 'I do's'! I would have never had the wedding of my dreams without them! -

Katie Skully is the BEST! I have never seen a more organized, patient, SWEET, and intelligent person. She made my daughter's wedding a success by taking all the pressure off of both my daughter and me. The guests tables looked amazing. We still don't know how they set everything up and made it look straight from a magazine! We are so thankful to have used Katie and her team. -

I first met Emily when she planned my sister's wedding. I was so impressed with her attention to detail and communication skills that when I began wedding planning, she was the first person I reached out to. I was really nervous about my wedding day, but Emily made the day absolutely perfect. Whenever I felt stressed out, I would call/email/text Emily, and she would promptly respond and handle whatever was bothering me. On the actual wedding day, Emily was so composed and organized, it helped relieve my nerves. She was the best decision I made! -

Where to even start.... working with Katie and Emily at Blue Ribbon Weddings was the best thing that could have ever happened to us. Not only are they the most wonderful people, but they are ON it! Words truly can't express not only how many headaches, tears, and mistakes they saved us from, but how truly AMAZING our wedding was because of them. We only did a partial planning package, and looking back, the only thing that I would change would be to get the full service package. They made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process, never let me feel any stress, went above and beyond my expectations, and most of all made it fun. On our wedding day, everything was executed flawlessly. I truly credit how perfect our day was to their hard work. Katie and her team at Blue Ribbon Weddings exceeded all of my expectations and dreams of a perfect wedding. BRW took my vision and ran with it. I cannot thank them enough for being so kind, thoughtful, patient and so darn good at what they do. Our vision was carried throughout our entire wedding weekend seamlessly and we couldn't have been more in love with it! Katie and her team thought of little touches that made us feel so special. During the cocktail hour, they did a "first look" for my husband and I to view our reception area and it brought tears of joy to our eyes. They also pulled us aside to enjoy one another's company and such a fast-paced day with hors d'oeuvres and our favorite drinks in the wine cellar that I just feel in love with.
Words cannot fully express the gratitude and love I have for Katie and her team at BRW. They truly are near and dear to my heart and we couldn't have have a more beautiful wedding.

Katie made our dream wedding happen for us!
My (now) husband and I had a great experience working with Katie to create our dream wedding. She took the time to get to know us and our vision for our big day, and recommended AMAZING vendors that would coordinate well with our style and wishes. We were very happy we chose her throughout the whole wedding process. She saw our vision and recommended great linens, flowers, etc. to bring together our whole feel. When it came to the week of the wedding we were even more thankful we chose Katie as she worked tirelessly to finalize all last minute details, especially due to the rain forecast on our outdoor wedding and implementing a tent and switching around our seating plan, where the band would go - all of the many logistics we wouldn't even know to consider. The day of the wedding we were even MORE happy we chose to work with Katie. The day went by so smoothly and perfectly. Her team and all of our vendors worked so hard to make the dream of an outdoor wedding ceremony a reality, pulling out all the chairs right before the ceremony and watching the rain to make sure we were able to get our dream. It was the best day, the most beautiful day, and we couldn't have done it without Katie. -

Nikki Sent on 05/24/2018The whole journey with the women at Blue Ribbon was brilliant. I needed a lot of help and wanted to find a team who could lead me in the right direction. Sometimes it was difficult to explain what I was envisioning, but Emily had such a great sense of what questions to ask, that would ultimately guide us to creating such an amazing, carefree day. Prioritizing is so important when planning a wedding in the little time that we had, and I remember asking Emily if we could do it, if it was even possible, and without a hesitation, she calmly said, “Of course”. Really from then on, there was this confidence that helped carry the whole experience. The entire planning process leading up to the wedding, from helping us pick the right vendors, to helping us write and send out our invitations, Emily was always available and full of helpful advice. And when I’d throw some kind of new idea or change, things were so easily adjusted. I never felt like I couldn’t achieve exactly the idea I was after.
Everything for the timeline of our wedding, was coordinated and specifically molded to our particular vision. I really had no doubts about the wedding day and it made for such a better evening with all our friends and family. The wedding day was absolutely beautiful and there is no way it could have been done with out BRW. When I saw our ceremony and our reception area, I had butterflies. We received so many compliments from guests saying how wonderful the BRW women were, and also how beautiful the wedding was. The best gift was that I got to enjoy every second of our wedding weekend. All the time spent with my bridesmaids, every dance with our families, and being able to get lost in little moments with my husband because I knew everything was being taken care of. -

Antonia Sent on 05/21/2018Hiring a wedding planner was the first thing that I did once I got engaged. There was no question that I would need help, and it took about 3 seconds to decide to reach out to Katie. Having known her once upon a time in a professional setting when I worked for her (so therefore knowing firsthand her attention to detail and just how hard she works!) and looking at her beautiful portfolio online (gorgeous, right?), I knew that she was the one. From our first meeting together, I knew we had made the right decision. During that first meeting, Katie and her colleague, Em, were talking about things that I hadn’t considered or even known about. Somewhere along the line I also tasked Katie with the role of our florist (another brilliant decision!).
My engagement was about a year a half; in the beginning, communication was pretty consistent, died down for a bit (since there wasn’t much to do!), and then picked right back up in the months leading up to the day. Katie was also very cognizant of the budgets that my fiancé and I had laid out for her which is of course always appreciated. And if you’ve seen her portfolio, you know that she has a wonderful eye for decor and flowers - everything came out even more beautiful than I could’ve imagined (photos by JP Pratt Photography - who is also amazing!). Katie also helped with much of the correspondence between our venue and other vendors - just another thing I didn’t need to worry about!
I cannot emphasize how little stress I experienced the day of my wedding because of Katie and Em. Of course I was nervous, but I was able to take my time getting ready, enjoy time with my girls and family, and not worry about if the tables were set, if the caterer needed anything, who was going to pick up our cake. Everything felt seamless and perfect and I don’t even think anything went wrong and if it did, I have no knowledge of it lol. If you’re getting married, you NEED to talk to the girls at Blue Ribbon Weddings! -

Heather Sent on 01/18/2018I was referred to Katie by Cypress Grove. We had met with another planner prior to Katie and the Blue Ribbon team however, my first meeting with Katie is as if I’d known her for years and she instantly understood my vision. I decided I was a “DIY” bride and my decision was never challenged. Katie checked in during my year of planning and helped tie together all of the loose ends. My wedding was perfect. She and her team went above and beyond as my husband and best friend brought my birth certificate to the wedding instead of our marriage license lol. However, no need to panic because she drove to my home, got the license and drove back to the wedding. AMAZING!?! We could’ve easily sent a family member but I didn’t even have I worry about it. Katie and her team are wonderful to work with and I would recommend anyone getting married to them. Even 2 months after our wedding she has checked in with us. Kudos to you and everyone at Blue Ribbon.
