True Bliss

Shane Canada and the Bliss team made our dream wedding come true. From start to finish Shane and his team were on point, communicating effectively, and making sure each and every detail was taken care of. The planning process leading up to the wedding evening was clear, well-planned, and brilliantly executed. During our wedding evening, Shane and his Bliss team handled every possible detail. They left no stone unturned and pulled out all the stops to make sure our evening was one we would remember for a lifetime. I couldn't be more thankful for Shane and the job he did, he truly knocked it out of the park! I recommend Shane and his Bliss team to anyone looking to have to most fantastic wedding experience ever! Mahalo Shane and Bliss!

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars!

Shane Canada and the team at Bliss are absolutely amazing! We had the pleasure of working with them as we planned our intimate Maui wedding all the way from Virginia and they did a phenomenal job! Obviously planning a destination wedding can be a little nerve-racking, especially when you aren’t familiar with vendors, venues, etc. But Shane was right there to answer all of our questions and made us feel so at ease with the whole wedding planning process. Bliss also provided an exceptional list of vendors for us to consider and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our selections.

The day of the wedding was absolutely perfect and went so smoothly . Shane is not only professional, hard working, and amazing at what he does, but he is also one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. He brought our wedding vision to life and a million “thank you”s would never be enough to fully express how grateful we are to him and the Bliss team.

Bliss in Bloom - Best Wedding Planner You’ll Find!

Allison is just the best in the business! She is professional, warm, responsive and knows the best vendors around. She made our son’s recent wedding at Orchid Fairmont run absolutely seamlessly! We were able to completely relax and enjoy the ceremony and reception (and the whole planning process) as she efficiently handled every detail, large and small...always with a relaxed smile on her face! I really can’t say enough about her amazing abilities - truly the stand out wedding planner on the Big Island!

Literally Perfect!

I was so impressed and overjoyed with everything! The coordination of vendors, the flowers, arch, minister, wedding cake, photographer... every detail was executed for us with high quality. We literally pulled up to the location and they were waiting out on the curb for us to assist. After the wedding, we sat down to enjoy our dinner out on the balcony under the beautiful Hawaiian stars and at our table was a gorgeous table arrangement of flowers and a handwritten card from all the vendors thanking us. How classy! It was truly us who were so grateful and thankful for making our destination wedding flawless and stress-free!

Thanks for a perfect day!

We got married at the Westin Maui in September and worked with Darren and the Bliss team to plan our special day in Maui. Darren, our coordinator was absolutely amazing! We didn't arrive in Maui until the night before our ceremony, Darren took care of all the details and made it the best day ever, nothing short of amazing.

Communicating with Darren was very easy as he was really responsive and well detailed about the pricing and options available to us. We had as many emails and calls as we desired, to ask questions and plan the big day.

Darren was very professional but also seemed like a friend that was helping with the planning process, you could tell he was genuinely cared about ensuring we had the best day possible, and went above and beyond even with last minute requests. We thought that planning a destination wedding would have been a challenge, but the entire process was made so easy! Thank you!

The flowers and arrangements were absolutely beautiful, and we couldn't have wished for more, they exceeded our expectations in every way.

Darren did a phenomenal job planning our most special day and coordinating details with the venue and vendors. We are thankful and will forever cherish the memories that Darren and the Bliss team helped create.

We cannot recommend Darren and the Bliss team enough, they are the best, and it was such a pleasure working with Darren! P.S. Hope you wouldn't mind planning our anniversary when we come back to Maui!!

It was a perfect day

If you are looking for a wedding planner in Maui, look no further, Darren and his team at Bliss are it! We worked with Darren for just about 2 years. He was amazing! He calmed our nerves, he responded promptly, and really listened. It was important that we stayed on budget, he respected that, and we did. He talked with us many times on the phone, and many, many emails were exchanged. When we had to make decisions, we never felt overwhelmed, he made it easy. It helped that he spaced out the decision making pretty much quarterly. We gave him ideas of what we were looking for (our Pinterest board) for the wedding, but just let him do his thing, and it was perfect! He found a florist that had a beautiful selection of local flowers, and he handpicked the flowers for our wedding---which were beautiful! Our wedding was perfect, the venue, planner, staff, flowers, weather, and our guests. Everyone who attended could not say enough about how beautiful the wedding was. After being together for 11 years, there was no better way to celebrate our union. Our best decision was to have destination wedding and do it the way we wanted. Our second-best decision was to use Bliss, Wedding Design & Spectacular Events. This day was perfect because of this team. Darren truly cares about the people he works with, and we consider him part of our Ohana. Thank you, Darren and the Bliss team, you have a special place in our hearts.

Our coordinator Darren Keala was beyond amazing in the preparation and organizing of our wedding. We could not have asked for anyone better. Whenever we were stressed out with wedding planing, Darren always knew how to calm us down and had a solution for every situation. The bliss wedding team was absolutely amazing! I was so hesitant planning my wedding from CA, and not knowing exactly what everything was going to look like... but it was exactly what I dreamt of! My husband and I got married at the Westin Maui and Shane truly made my day magical. He didn't miss a beat, suggested a couple last minute changes that made the day turn out even better, he kept all of us so relaxed and smiling through out the day. He truly knows what he is doing. We have been together for many years as a combined family with older children. We had a very private ceremony with our adult children, their spouses and 6 grandchildren ages 18 months to 7 years. All the grandchildren were all in the wedding. My husband and I keep saying how it was everything and even more than we had talked about for a very long time. We will cherish the memories for years. We honestly do not know where to begin. Our wedding was nothing less than BLISSful. There is so much that Darren and his team did for us leading up to our big day and we cannot thank them all enough! We hired Darren for full service and we are stoked that we did.

It was evident among the vendors working with Darren and his team was awesome. Throughout the entire process Darren was patient and attentive. He communicated to us every concern and left no detail out. With much on his plate, he made us feel special and important as if we were his only clients.

We wanted our family to experience something they’ve never experienced before and Bliss Maui did just that and much more. Our family even noticed how amazing they were. They captivated and imprinted in us, memories that will be cherished and talked about forever.

Every journey begins with a single step and we are grateful that Darren was there to help us take it. Like the masterful pavers they were, Bliss Wedding made clear and beautiful a path for us to happily take. No scene or event could be more perfect than what they created. We recently were married at the Westin Maui, and we cannot say enough how this was the best decision we ever made! Shane with Bliss Weddings was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING - he coordinated the entire event with professionalism and responsiveness. With the hotel's expertise, flexibility, and attention to detail, we were able to relax and enjoy the resort all the way until the wedding. We feel incredibly lucky to have had our wedding at the Westin Maui - trust me it won't disappoint you. Our only regret is not having taken a picture with Shane - the miracle worker!

My husband is from Australia and we met there in 2013 when I was working in Sydney on a global deployment assignment with my firm for three years. We moved back to the states together in summer of 2016 and got engaged in January of 2017. Hawaii was a natural choice for us given it is half way between Australia and the states and I have always wanted a beach wedding. We quickly decided on the island of Maui and began researching wedding planners. We decided on Sugar Beach Events as the venue (which is amazing!) and spoke to the event coordinator there. We researched wedding planners more and Bliss quickly came up. From the moment I saw their gallery I was hooked.I loved their clean and simplistic style and grace. There was no looking back after our first call with Shane and Maria. I cannot say enough about these guys and the company they represent. Planning a wedding in Maui from Atlanta, GA has its complexities (conference calls, time differences, etc.) but we never felt concerned or nervous about ANYTHING when working with this team. Pinterest become very important and my vision for our day was shared via Pinterest posts. Shane and Maria got everything right. We had a Hindu/Christian fusion ceremony so worked through those details as well. The officiant, flowers, DJ, event space, cake, food, absolutely everything was perfect! We want to do it again!!!

I cannot recommend these guys enough - they presented us with the best vendors to chose from and our photos and everything are amazing! If you are getting married in Maui - they only way to do it is BLISS!!!

The Bliss team is beyond amazing!! Darren was absolutely fantastic and I cannot say enough good things about him and his team. Our photographer described Darren as a "wizard" with florals and she was exactly right!! His expertise and creativity are unmatched. The Bliss staff seriously made our day blissful!!!!! We decided to have a private beach elopement at Ironwoods beach in West Maui. I'm very particular about my vision and every step of the way Shane and his staff made me feel at ease and they totally saw what I wanted! I've worked with planners in the past for other events and the comfort level the Bliss team made me feel by far surpasses anyone I have worked with. We planned our elopement via phone and email in less than 6 months. Every phone call and email I was treated like no question was too small and every idea and request there was a lovely choice of the absolute best vendors. My flowers by Maui Petals were breathtaking! I sent so many photos of what I wanted and Darren knew how to make it all come together better than I could have imagined! We planned our day from Massachusetts so I put a lot of trust into Shane and his staff and they went over and beyond to make our day absolutely perfect! When a power outage happened less than an hour before hair and makeup was to arrive at my hotel, Shane and his executive rockstar Maria seamlessly organized a plan B and it worked out well. I never sweat it because I knew Bliss would take care of me...That's the kind of people they are! It was an absolute joy to work with them! 5 stars is an understatement for the Bliss team!!!

LOOK NO FURTHER!! The Bliss Family & Maui Petals (Darren and his team) are quite incredible. I have nothing but positive things to say about this team! I am very particular and picky in terms of what vision I had for my wedding and I wasn't sure how to bring that to life, but Darren and his team were able to not only make my vision come true, but decorated my events to beyond my wildest dreams with absolutely stunning floral and decor!! I had a vision of a simple, clean & crisp yet elegant look, and Darren and his team brought that and much more! I can't thank their team enough for the long hours on the phone to going through each and every detail of what I wanted my wedding to look like, which floral pieces I wanted, to the reality of what those visions turned out to be. When I first started researching wedding planners on Maui and came across their website, I immediately knew that I wanted Bliss to do our wedding. I gave them a call, talked to Darren, and the rest fell into place smoothly. We had a long engagement so we had like 15 months to plan. We emailed each other a lot. We even skyped a couple times which was great. Luckily we had a chance to go to Maui 8 months prior to the wedding and meet them. Darren organized meet and greets with various vendors and arranged tastings which really helped to solidify our choices. It also helped us get to know each other better so that Darren could get a sense of what we wanted. And he delivered. Even with a major snafu occurring that was out of anyone's control 4 days before the wedding that resulted in us having to move the entire event to another location went smoothly. Darren was calm and collected through all the changes. And the day of I didn't have to worry about anything except enjoying the day. Darren and Shane took care of every detail and the flowers and décor were gorgeous. Our guests had a blessed and magical time. It was simply perfect. It was everything I wanted our wedding to be and more. I wouldn't change a single thing. Reliving moments from the day still brings tears to my eye. It was the best wedding I've ever been to, that's for sure. I may be biased...but it's true. Thank you Bliss for what I can honestly say was the Best. Day. Ever.

The staff at Bliss Events are absolutely the best. Darren took our vision and made it happen within our budget. He went above and beyond to help us plan the important details of our hindu/american ceremony and reception. His floral design was better than we could have imagined. We are still getting complements on our November wedding from friends and family. Their phenomenal service allowed us to have a worry free day and we truly enjoyed every minute.

Shane Canada and the Bliss Team were fantastic to say the least. We had a last minute wedding (started planning 3 or 4 months prior to the actual wedding), but after having an initial consult with Shane, his enthusiasm, passion for weddings and energy made us feel at right home with him, and he reassured us that we would be able to have the wedding that we dreamed of.

Once we locked down the date/time for the wedding, we started the planning process. With only a few months to plan, we knew it would be busy and tight from both sides (given that it was the beginning of wedding season). We were in contact with Shane weekly (usually through email, text and some phone calls) and he took us through the planning process step by step with securing the officiant, photographers, caterers, then the final design, etc. We set up a pinterest board and were able to coordinate and share a lot of the details of the wedding through that board. Being a destination wedding, and not having a chance to meet Shane and his team prior to the wedding and only seeing the Kukahiko Estate online, we were a bit nervous over how the wedding would turn out. But having the pinterest board provided for an easy way to convey the theme we were looking for.

When the wedding day arrived, it was the first time saw the wedding venue and design, and Shane and his team absolutely nailed it. Shane had captured exactly what we wanted and the Kukahiko Estate was perfect. Our biggest fear with the venue was that we did not want a space so big that it would swallow up the wedding. We had about 25 guests, and with how everything was setup and laid out, the space and size was perfect. The ceremony and reception were all done on the lawn and it wasn’t too crowded or too large. They also just installed air conditioning in the bridal suite, so getting ready was comfortable as well. Shane and his team did a great job capturing our vision for the wedding and working with him and his team was seamless and easy.

I worked with Darren at Bliss and he was wonderful! I always wanted to get married in Hawaii and originally planned for a beach wedding, but once I seen all the beaches were public, I started to look into venues. I got married at the Kukahiko Estate and myself and my guests loved it! It was so nice to have privacy, get ready together, and have the intimacy you would want on your wedding day. Darren listened and worked very well with me and exceeded all my expectations. You will not regret hiring Bliss.

Bliss Wedding Design & Spectacular Events went above and beyond with all aspects of our wedding. Darren and Shane both truly love what they do, and every detail of our wedding was evidence of this. Planning a wedding from a different Country could have posed a significant challenge but because of Darren's organization and incredible communication it was flawless. We knew right away we could put our trust in Bliss and they did not disappoint. Darren provided all the information we needed to make informed decisions about our vendors and every one of them turned out to be amazing. Without hesitation I would recommend Bliss to anyone planning their wedding on Maui. Not only did we get a beautiful, amazing wedding that reflected both of our personalities perfectly, we now have two great friends in Darren and Shane.

We loved every bit of our wedding at the Kukahiko Estate planned and organized by Bliss Wedding Design & Spetacular Events! Maui is beautiful, no doubt, but hosting a wedding at the estate with breathtaking ocean view and stunning sunset was way beyond our expectation! Bliss staff were all super friendly and welcoming! I contacted them only 2 months before our wedding and Shane spared no effort to try to fulfill our every request. The wedding turned out to be a very sweet and gorgeous one. We loved every bit of it, from my beautiful bouquet (I only sent Shane a photo I found on Pinterest and he delivered an even better one!), the flower-decorated wedding cake, the romantic arch with drapes, the very beautiful house for our preparation and family gathering, to the hospitality of every Bliss staff.

I will highly recommend Bliss Wedding Design & Spectacular Events to anyone who wants a dream wedding in Maui!

Bliss made our dream wedding a reality! My husband and I wanted a Maui destination wedding and were thinking of doing something large, but the planning was becoming too much of a headache. So we decided to elope instead, and that's when I found Bliss. After looking at pictures and videos of other weddings they had done (as well as reading all the positive reviews), I reached out and was immediately contacted by Darren. I told him our situation and that we were looking to get married in the next 2-3 months. I had a couple vendors in mind that I really wanted to work with, so he reached out to those people to see when they would be available. I was extremely impressed that he would do this for me before I had even signed a contract to work with him.

Once we settled on a date, everything else fell into place. Any time I contacted Darren he was always extremely prompt to reply, usually within a day. We communicated mostly by email, with a couple phone calls to discuss the larger details. I sent him pictures of things I liked (flowers, cakes, etc.) so he could get a sense of the style I wanted - and he executed my vision to perfection! Our wedding day was so relaxing and stress-free, which is something I don't think many brides and grooms can say. I knew that everything would be taken care of perfectly, and it was. We were married at Kukahiko Estate, and it was the perfect location for the private, intimate elopement that we wanted. Darren and Kayla made sure everything ran smoothly and we literally did not have to worry about a thing the entire day. Kayla even helped me with my dress, which I really appreciated since I did not have my mom or any bridesmaids there to help me.

Planning a destination wedding can be daunting, especially if you are not able to travel to the destination or meet your vendors beforehand. I'll admit that I was nervous about how everything would turn out, but I knew that we were in good hands. So glad we chose to work with Bliss!

The Bliss Team helped to make my wedding day a dreamy reality! We asked Darren to design our bouquets for our elopement. He responded very quickly to our emails and stayed in contact with us during the whole process. We would collaborate on ideas via pinterest and he was extremely enthusiastic and really cares about your special day. Our bouquets were even more amazing than we had imagined. He also went out of his way to help us set up appointments with getting a marriage license and gave us a list of things we could do on Maui! We loved Darren! He even stayed for our ceremony!

My husband and I were married at the Kukahiko Estate on 25th September 2015. We had a couple only wedding and it was all arranged by the fabulous Shane Canada at Bliss Wedding Design. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Bliss. Shane was instrumental in arranging our day, and such a pleasure to work with. His amazing personality and professionalism is a credit to him. We only contacted Bliss the first week in August 2015 to see if they had availability to accommodate our wedding in September. Shane did such a great job turning it around for us in such a short space of time.

We live in Scotland, UK and so all communication was done through e-mail. Shane was quick to answer all my mails and I always felt completely re-assured that everything was coming together nicely. All of the vendors we had were amazing and we couldn’t have had a nicer day even if we’d had 2 years to plan it. Darren from Bliss made by bridal bouquet and it was truly stunning, I couldn’t have wished for anything more, it really exceeded any expectations I had. Fran from the Bliss team was also fantastic in getting me ready. As it was just myself and my husband I had no friends or family to help me with my dress and she was there to lace me in and made me feel so comfortable, what a beautiful lady.

If you are looking for a planning service then look no more, please do not hesitate, Bliss are truly top class. Also if you still haven’t set your heart on a venue then please consider the Kukahiko Estate, absolutely breathtaking location.

Darren gave us a wedding that surpassed our dreams! We gave him ideas and he ran with it; with so much enthusiasm and excitement that it resulted in exceeding our expectations 10 fold!!! Everything from the venue, incredible floral arrangements he designed (WOW), music, catering, and cake (we wish we had room to take it home on the plane with us!!!) We had previously booked with another venue whom we were continually told over and over again, “its not part of "your package", and were nickeled and dimmed at every decision telling us “thats extra”, and then made us do all the footwork. They cancelled our contract on Valentines Day, and that’s when we met Darren and the team from Bliss. Within a week we had more planned with Darren, then we had with the previous venue over a period of 4 months!!! Darren never said “NO”, only “I love it”, or “We can make that happen”, or “That gives me some great ideas” It was so stress free that we went snorkeling the day of the wedding instead of rushing around or worrying about things getting done, infact the months leading up to the wedding were totally stress free knowing he had it under control. When we showed up at the venue, everything we had hoped and dreamed of for our “Big Day” was exceeded in every aspect!!! Because of their passion for what they do, Darren and everyone at Bliss took our ideas and made them into something even better and more wonderful than we ever expected!!! All the Vendors Darren selected are top notch, from the caterer (who was a finalist on Top Chef) to the bakery for the cake, and musician, everything couldn’t have been any better!!! Darren and Shane from Bliss were wonderful. We hired them as our Day of Coordinators and therefore had planned the wedding ourselves. Darren was our main contact and was absolutely instrumental in helping us plan our wedding. He was always there to help me with questions I might have, vendor suggestions and to confirm I was on the right track. Darren has such an amazing personality and always made us feel comfortable.

The wedding day itself was perfect. Darren and I had discussed the details on decor, timing, etc. before hand. Darren and Shane made sure the decor was perfectly place, the timing was going as planned and that everyone was having a great time. Darren even helped pull off a surprise from my parents to have Hula Dancers perform during dinner. We had no idea. It was absolutely perfect.

I have no doubt that with Darren and Shane there, it wouldn't have gone as smoothly as it did. Our wedding day was amazing and they had a big hand in making it that way. :)

Our wedding was simply perfect, and that was all thanks to Darren and Shane and the vendors that they assembled for our big day.

Communication was always sound, questions were answered clearly and promptly, and everything was handled with a level of attention and care that speaks of the passion they have for their company. We had a lot of unique requests, which they were able to handle with ease. They put their creative spin on what we needed help with, and their attention to detail is the best in the business.

After the wedding, all of our friends and family could not stop talking about our their experience. Kukahiko Estate, where we had our wedding, was such a perfect venue. It really showcased the beauty of the island and also felt like home.

I cannot thank Darren and Shane enough for walking us step by step though the wedding planning process, for putting a deep level of care and sincerity into every bit of communication, and for truly being our friends not only through the planning, but to this very day!

Darren and Shane have the most important quality in wedding coordination... they genuinely care about your special day. By the end of your wedding they feel like family. It's such an intimate day and I think the comfort level with your wedding team is so important.

Bliss created a perfect day for us. When my new bride and I finally had a moment alone at the end of the day we looked at each other and said, "This was literally a perfect day." You can't ask for anything more on your wedding day.

My husband and I thought (hilariously) that it would be easy to plan a wedding in Maui from California without ever meeting or scouting any of our vendors or locations. Boy, we were in for a big kick in the pants.

Thankfully, the universe provided us with two angels known as Darren and Shane aka Bliss Wedding Design & Spectacular. Not only were the two of them BEYOND knowledgeable about fantastic vendors for us to work with, but they also completely respected and stayed within our budget.

We always felt like we were being taken care of with Darren and Shane. They responded back in a timely manner to all of our crazy emails and phone calls. If they didn’t know an answer to a question we had posed, they went out of their way to help us find one. From helping us find a great vet to guide us through getting our pup to Maui to auditioning lion dancers for us, they always went the extra mile.

Darren and Shane are some of the most down to earth and hard working human beings we have ever met. They genuinely care about their couples and only want to make people’s dreams come true.

If I could go back in time and give myself one piece of information when we were just starting to plan our wedding, I would say, “go hire Bliss Wedding Design ASAP. Stop messing around on the internet, looking at reviews, and second guessing yourself at every step. Hire Darren and Shane right now.”

Being that I live in MN I was worried when I began to choose a wedding planner. I'll admit I spent 2 weeks solid searching online for different vendors and planners. I had originally reached out to Bliss where I immediately got a great vibe, however I then did my due diligence to speak with other planners to make a more educated decision. I found someone who was slightly cheaper, however the quality of the service was definitely sub par. I then ended up going back to Bliss and I can honestly tell you that it was a great decision!
I must admit I'm a bit of a cheapskate so paying for a planner when I tend to like to do things myself was a bit hard for me, however it was truly worth it since Darren and Shane were able to help me find not only cost friendly vendors but they were also absolutely amazing! Even after everything was planned out and set into place they still reached out to me just to check on me, even sometimes just to check to see how my stress level was!
There were some times where I wasn’t quite sure what to do next, and all it took was a look immediately they knew to come over to help. They guided me and my guests through everything during the wedding, being able to not be stressed during my wedding day is something I hear most brides dream about. Not only did they have the utmost professionalism, but they were funny and a joy to be around! I truly love these two, the moment I met them in person it was like we were old friends that have known each other forever.
Trust me ladies, when you plan your wedding you will want to be as carefree as possible and Bliss is definitely the place that will do this for you. I can honestly say I am so blessed that years from now when I look back on my wedding day I will be able to say that it was perfect and that my FRIENDS Darren and Shane made it happen. I really don’t see them as just planners who planned my wedding, they were a huge part of it and I love them for it :)

I've never planned a big event before let alone a destination event, so I knew I needed planners that were local to the venue. Bliss came highly recommended from a friend's friend. I did my research and compared based on reviews, photographs, and conversations and knew that Darren was it. The one statement that got me was he told me not too worry too much about budget, just let him know what I want and we'll make it work. And he did make it work. For instance, I didn't budget that much on floral design so I gave him a $ number that's lower than what is typically quoated, and the day of, the flowers looked phenomenal. I was very focused on the budget and expenses (even if Darren did say to stop worrying about it) but I'm very particular with statements. Darren was patient and walked me through each one to confirm everything was accounted for.

I also relied heavily on him on vendor recommendations, and the vendors that he suggested, and I used, had outstanding service. I was nervous to entrust so much on someone I have not met, but on my wedding day, it just came together so perfectly.

Darren and Shane fell from the sky to make our dream of having a wedding in Maui a reality. A year prior to our wedding my husband and I went to Maui on a half vacation half scouting trip to explore the possibility of having a destination wedding in Maui. Long story short we had given up all hope about a Maui wedding when a woman told us about the Kukahiko Estate, she immediately provided us with Darren’s number and information.

We got in touch with Darren at the last minute and we set up an appointment to meet him later that afternoon to view the estate. When we got there, we immediately knew that was it! Not only was the venue breathtaking, we immediately felt super comfortable with Darren as his interests have always been about helping us bringing to life the wedding we envisioned and it was never about selling us on unnecessary costs. We left the venue that afternoon and left Darren a security deposit check. It was that immediate comfort we felt with Darren we knew we made the best choice and that we were in good hands.

We came back to Los Angeles feeling super excited and happy that our dream was one step closer to being a reality. We worked with Darren throughout the year via, phone calls, text messages, emails and Pinterest and it was the easiest process on earth. Darren and Shane are very easygoing and caring people that treat their business with the utmost professionalism. They have always been accessible and responsive to any questions and concerns we had throughout the entire planning process. They were always flexible and always provided us with ideas on ways to save money, they facilitated and referred us to professional vendors that were easy to work with and met our needs. My husband and I feel truly blessed to have found Darren and Shane. We will continue to keep in touch with them when we go back to Maui. We love them!

Planning a destination wedding was a scary thing but I knew Bliss was the perfect choice after one call with Darren. Bliss works with only a very small number of vendors on the island who have proven to be reliable, creative, professional, and fun to work with. I can honestly say that we loved every single vendor that we hired for the wedding and that's PRICELESS.

Sadly, there were supposed to be TWO hurricanes hitting Maui on our wedding day, so we were a little stressed out in the days leading up to our wedding. Darren & Shane visited us at our condo with backup plans, reassurance and a level of confidence that calmed our nerves and reaffirmed our belief that everything would be ok (and it was). They worked with Sugar Beach Events Hawaii to move the ceremony indoors, secured safe transportation for our guests, and then just a few hours before the ceremony was going to start, they learned the hurricanes weren't going to hit, and proactively moved the ceremony back outside so we could enjoy the crashing waves and gorgeogorgeous scenery as originally planned.

One of the greatest things in the world (and why it's critical to have a coordinator) is not having to worry about details on one of the biggest events of your life. Darren & Shane were constantly reassuring us, checking in with us and doing anything and everything we needed in order to make the day spectacular. They are experienced, knowledgable, creative, patient and fun to work with.

We had our wedding event at the Kukahiko Estate & it was magical. Darren designed our flower arrangement & bouquets. All were were thoughtful, beautiful...above & beyond what I was expecting. We were blown away when we saw the final product of the wedding venue, & what the boys of Bliss had created for us based on only long distance phone calls & emails. They went above and beyond with every single detail of the day, & I truly felt like Shane & Darren had read my mind over months of conversation & had created the most magnificent event that we could have ever wanted. Our wedding day was truly one of the best days of our lives & we owe it all to Bliss!

Shane & Darren have an extensive knowledge of all things related to weddings in Maui. They also have an impressive, network of wonderful vendors to choose from. Most importantly, they work very well together, and they work really hard for their couples.

If you are thinking about getting married, I highly recommend using the services of Bliss Wedding Design & Spectacular Events. Such an important life event should really include important people like Shane & Darren. Their expertise, as well as their love of wedding planning, will create an unforgettable experience for you, your betrothed, as well as treasured guests.

I found Darren and Shane through my planner in San Diego. She was unable to fly to Maui with me to do Day of Coordinating, so she found Bliss Maui for me. There are not enough words to describe how amazing they are! Darren was in contact with me before I arrived in Maui and I could tell from the e-mails that he was great with the details (which was very important to me) and I was immediately put at ease.

The day of the wedding, they were both there promptly when they were scheduled and ready to put together everything my planner had sent with me. The entire day they checked in on me as I got ready and were there for things that I wouldn't have even thought about! Then as the wedding ceremony ended, and we moved into the reception they handled everything so seamlessly that no one even noticed all the work!

Then, besides all the Day of Coordinating, they stepped in and helped me with my flowers after a few budget and planning issues. The floral work was beyond anything I could have imagined!

Overall, both Darren and Shane are sooooo sweet. I had never met them before I landed in Maui and I felt like they took care of me as they would a friend or family member. On top of that, they were just the right amount of OCD and detail oriented that I LOVED! Details are what really matters :) If you need a planner, coordinator or any help with your wedding... you HAVE to hire them!

What can I say Darren and Shane made my wedding day the perfect day ever! My first wedding planner fired me two months before my wedding. she said I wasn't "organized enough". But really it all came down to I wouldn't give her how much my budget was $$$. I didn't know how much I wanted to spend. I just knew what I wanted.... good music, good food, open bar and a hell of a good time (and to look and feel beautiful)!! I asked around and I was told the best was Bliss. I called them up. Both of them came over to my house with their superhero capes on and save the day. It was the first time someone asked me the question....what do you want; not how much do you want to spend. They listened and together my dream wedding became a reality. I kid you not when I say I had the best day ever!!! My wedding was even more then I dreamed of. Shane and Darren went above and beyond the call of duty of any wedding planners. I cannot thank them enough for the memories that they created in my life forever. I'm so grateful and blessed to have been "Blissed".

Darren and Shane did an amazing job at our wedding! They went above and beyond to bring my simple vision and turned it into something incredible and spectacular. I couldn't imagine having my wedding without them. Living and having my wedding on Oahu, I thought it may be a little difficult to arrange and coordinate as we are on separate islands. Darren and Shane were more than accommodating to come down and help me celebrate our special day. They assured me and made me real comfortable that everything was going to be perfect, which it was. I highly recommend them for any event that you may have.

we just had wedding in Maui last year October. when i was looking for wedding planer in Hawaii, Darren and Shane was the best wedding planer that i could find. i was little worried about planing wedding over email and phone, but Darren made everything very easy for me to look at things and choose. he explained all the stuff that i need to know, and made everything happened the way I wanted with the budget I had.
I had the best wedding and I have no regrets. thanks to Bliss wedding and I would recommend 120%!!

Bliss was referred to us by our friends, who own a house on Maui. Our friends offered us their house for our wedding. I could not be happier that Shane and Darren are the planners that they are. Our friends' house is beautiful, but what Bliss did with the whole event was amazing. The decor was as beautiful in the sunlight as in the moonlight. It was a wonderful atmosphere for our intimate wedding! Darren's flowers were perfect/beautiful & well Shane just handled everything with the utmost professionalism. You can put your trust in them to take care of everything you have tasked them with & more -sit back and enjoy your happy time. Behind the scenes, the photographer double booked & the chef was suddenly ill. Shane took care of everything before we knew there was a problem- it was effortless for us. He got a new better photographer & a new better chef (we know this because our friends said the new chef's food was better than the first). The new chef was able to completely replicate the menu we picked with first chef. We told Shane what type of ceremony we wanted, and the Officiant fulfilled that by giving us a wonderful Hawaiian Wedding. We wanted a Hula Show- we got it! It was awesome! To make a comparison: We arranged for guests to dine at Feast of Lele the night before on advise that this is the best luau in Maui. I am so happy to say that our wedding food and luau were better than the restaurant's! Every expectation we had for food and entertainment was far exceeded. The bar service was simply the best- they added special touches- delicious signature drinks, purple sugar for the rims of glasses that matched our colors, lovely drink decorations & purple LED lights for the pillars. Bliss' vendors had such thoughtfulness & friendly personalities- just good people that had excellent vibes. A warmth surrounded the evening because of all those involved. Big Mahalo & much Aloha to Shane and Darren for making our wedding-for lack of a better word-spectacular!

Darren and Shane were a gift sent from above! They were everything we needed for our special day and far exceeded our expectations. I can't say enough about their professionalism, flexibility, talent, creativity, quality of their services and their smiling helpful faces. They are very easy to work with, very reliable and organized. Our wedding day was stress free because of them and that is what every bride wants.
They were so impressive I recommended my brother hire them for his wedding on Oahu, which they and incredible job at also.

We hired Darren Keala as our florist- WOW!! Darren is the kindest, most creative and talented person I have ever worked with! He is incredibly artistic, helpful and worth every penny. He went above and beyond our expectations- I can\'t say enough nice things about him. I would hire him as a wedding planner in a heartbeat. We had already booked our wedding planner when I found Darren, or I would definitely have hired him for wedding planning. I saw he just created a private wedding luau option-it looks awesome! I wish he had this option available when we got married. It includes everything- guest transportation, flowers, cocktails, dinner, photography, entertainment etc etc, so as close to an all-inclusive option in Hawaii as you will get! Check it out if you are interested in a private wedding luau- ceremony and reception at a private oceanfront estate (where we got married!)- looks incredible, and really reasonably priced for Maui. Shane and Darren are the absolute best! They are unbelievably organized and have contacts with some of the greatest vendors on Maui. Working together eased my mind and allowed me to enjoy my wedding day stress-free, not to mention that the wedding itself was gorgeous and planned out to the T. My wedding turned out absolutely perfect, Bliss captured exactly what I was wanting. Shane gave great recommendations on what he has seen in the past. The day of the wedding was stress free, while Shane had everything set up and under control when we arrived.

Shane and Darren are lovely and they have wonderful vendors also. The estate venue was perfect for our intimate wedding and the whole experience was great. They took care of everything and we were able to relax and really enjoy our day. The Bliss boys are passionate about giving you a great experience and making your day perfect! Darren and Shane are incredibly easy to communicate with and worked very hard to make the day feel exactly how we wanted it too. Our wedding was comfortable, casual and all about love and was exactly what we wanted it to be. The entertainment went above and beyond our expectation as did reverend Pia. Everyone seemed very humble and greatful to be there for us. The catering was wonderful and met all of our special dietary needs, complete with ingredient cards for our guests with food sensitives and allergies. Darren and Shane managed to pull our soft and casual look together with stunning pink and white plumeria lies for each guest as well as beautiful lanterns and nostalgic pieces tastefully placed throughout the venue. Our wedding is still talked about as the best wedding our guests have aver been too. We feel very fortunate to have had Shane and Darren from Bliss Weddig Design and Spectacular Events as our planners. They an amazing team.

We had our wedding at Kukahiko estate and it was a beautiful venue with great views. Great for pictures! There is a cottage house that can be used for the bride to get ready while the groom can get ready in the main house. The estate is right on the water and has a beautiful grassy area. The yard had limited space so Darren and Shane did an amazing job of transitioning the ceremony area to the dinner area while guests had cocktails on the porch at the house (while we took our wedding pictures). Darren and Shane did such an amazing job pulling everything together. They took on all the details and took away any stress I would have had. They made it possible for our day to be wonderful and we could focus on the big day in a gorgeous location. Many of my family members said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. It should be noted that the Kukahiko estate is Darren's family's estate and it's great to get a piece of history while being there. I'm so greatful he was able to share that space with us. I enjoyed seeing their family reunion pictures on the wall. So many beautiful people have called that place a sanctuary that you can feel the love and family there! I would recommend it to anyone seeking a small private wedding that wants it to feel like home. Darren and Shane's services were fantastic and they handled our wedding so wonderfully, I'm sure they could handle a wedding of any size with ease. Darren never showed any stress and I was able to focus on us instead of on the wedding. It should be noted that we had about 20 guests and the estate was perfect!

Today is our 2 week anniversary, and we are back in freezing Boise, ID but still walking on air after our amazing wedding on Maui. I couldn't be happier that I chose to work with Bliss as my partner to plan our destination wedding.

Shane and Darren are beyond a dynamic duo. Shane provided me with instant reassurance and confidence that he 'got it' when I described my vision. I was pleased with the attention and conversations we had - i.e., the care he put in - in spite of the fact that I'm sure our wedding was not the biggest or most expensive on his list. Shane helped me to orient with options, choose a location (Merriman's next to Kapalua Bay - incredible), and select the details that would really make our day special and help eliminate the ones that weren't. Then he set it all up and took care of it! I really appreciated that he had flexibility and worked (and re-worked) our plan to fit within budget. I thank Shane for his humor and continual reminders of 'don't stress'. :)

Then, Darren - to say his flowers and artistic creations are amazing is an under-statement. I'm not a big flower person but the iconic bridal bouquet was important to me and he listened and built the perfect one for me. I absolutely loved it, and Darren was extremely responsive and easy to work with. I will always remember and appreciate that Darren was with me in the moment before I walked down the aisle - helping me functionally (holding the train, hoisting the dress up and into place one last time), but more than anything emotionally with his calm and kind eyes, and gentle reminder to enjoy every moment.

The Bliss boys are wonderful - stylish, authentic, and determined to give you one of the best days of your life. If you want to get married on Maui, don't hesitate to call them!

Shane and the Bliss team were such a pleasure to coordinate with. They were helpful in planning the specifics of the wedding and very accommodating to schedule sessions to speak on Skype. As living in a foreign country and with Shane at a disadvantage being 19 hours difference from us, he never seemed overwhelmed or incapable of meeting our requests. From the flowers to the cake, each aspect of the day was handled professionally and with great care. Shane’s positive attitude, helpfulness and sincere personality put us at ease and made us feel that he truly cared about our wedding and making it the best it could be. In finding out what specifics we were interested for the wedding colors, to the minutiae of recommending a place to iron our wedding garments, to waking up early and picking up our mothers for make-up, Shane made us feel as though we were always the only wedding on his mind and the most important client he had. I can’t say enough about how welcoming he and the Bliss team were, other than ‘Thank you so much’.

Missing deposits and funds.

We have also had issues with this company and the wedding planner Shane Canada having gone missing with our unrecovered funds. Shane has deleted all the Bliss social media accounts from Facebook and Instagram. We have collected similar instances from a group of other couples that have experienced this, or something similar, over the last few months. Horrible experience!!!!

I never thought I would be someone to give a poor review but after the experience we had I feel it is important to prevent people from going through what my wife and I went through with Bliss wedding design. We met Shane while looking at venues in Maui and decided to work with him for our wedding as we had a good feeling about him. That feeling changed 100% after working with him. He told us not to call him and that emails were the best way to communicate. The problem was he would take literally 2 weeks to respond back and not even get us the answers we were looking for. So we would call their office and they would say he is on the other line and then he would text us instead of calling us back. He gave us excuse after excuse on why he couldn’t get anything booked/confirmed. He said the DJ would not call him back for 3 months??? When we decided to part ways because it was a very stressful and horrible experience with Bliss we decided to go with the in house coordinators and they were able to book the DJ 1 day after we gave them the contact info! I have never had such a bad and unprofessional experience. We were so lucky to of had a few months after parting ways with Bliss to work with a team who cared and knew what they were doing. DO NOT CHOOSE BLISS!!!!!
