Best coordinator in Charlottesville

I met with Barb almost a year and a half before my wedding. She was like another mom to me during wedding planning. It was so helpful having a coordinator that knew all the best vendors and the best prices. Barb was organized and helped me stay on top of deadlines. She had some great ideas for details I had not even considered! Barb gets things done before you even know they needed to be done. Our wedding day felt so stress free because of Barb. She and her team handled everything so that my husband and I could enjoy every moment of our evening!

Above and beyond

Barb helped us contract with an amazing team of vendors! Her expertise and experiences were far above and beyond any of our expectations... and we are a pretty demanding group! She expertly helped us navigate our plans for not just our wedding day, but... an entire weekend for 150 guests. Breakfasts, Manor House party, rehearsal dinner and night before bonfire in addition to the wedding day festivities. Morning breakfast, mid day catering, a million moving parts all the way thru our sparkler exit that was adapted on the fly due to rain. Barb and her team executed a flawless weekend our guests are still raving about! She is a bargain considering her expertise, industry contacts and willingness to dig in and get the work done in a professional manner with a smile on her face!

Barb and the entire BarbWired Team made our Wedding a beautiful and memorable event. From our initial meeting with Bab to the full execution of our wedding weekend, we felt completely at ease. The BW team is organized, creative, and prepared. They made the planning process and vendor selection seamless. Barb is a seasoned professional with a network of the best vendors in the Charlottesville area. We had no worries with the vendor team we selected with the help of the BW team. Her team are professionals who will not only be prepared for anything but are also kind and supportive individuals. Barb and her team go above and beyond to capture each couple's essence and to make their dreams a reality. Made Our Day

Barb and her team are such a great asset to have on your wedding day! They know all the nitty-gritty about organizing and coordinating vendors, guests, the wedding party, etc. And helping with things you don’t even think about as a bride. Fluffing the veil for photos, cuing the speeches, making sure everything runs according to plan.

It really takes a village to coordinate a wedding. And Barb is the mayor of that village. She knows how to get everyone organized and how to call the shots!

Couldn’t have pulled off our wedding without her and her team. They really helped us realize and achieve what we wanted out of the day. And gave us a wonderful wedding with no hiccups whatsoever. You're in safe hands with them.

A must have for your wedding day!

We got married on 09/09/23 and hired Barb Wired to help with planning. Although I am a Director of Operations and do quite a bit of planning in my role, it was important to me to have a professional who knew the ins and outs of weddings. There are so many details and moving parts that go into planning a wedding-so much so that Barb Wired was a necessity. Barb was able to connect us with amazing vendors and helped field questions for us. Additionally, she was such a major help when it came to final organizational details and she kept us on track during our engagement period. Barb and Abby made sure everything went smoothly on our big day and were flexible which was nice since we had uncertain weather forecasts. There are so many planning details that occur that Barb can assist with-overall, I highly recommend hiring Barb and her team for your wedding! She's great and you won't regret it. :)

Seamless, Memorable Event

With so many moving parts, people tell you not to expect perfection on your wedding day. However, hiring Barb and her team got us as close to perfection as possible! The communication prior to the event was speedy fast, and the itenerary and checklist they prepared was highly detailed. The event itself went off without a hitch. The team rolled with the punches and made any small adjustments where necessary to keep everything under control and on schedule. Our guests raved about how it seemed we had been practicing the event for weeks. In reality, once we showed up Barb and Lauren guided us through the day and made sure it was a day we never forget. On top of everything else, they think of the small things - like packing you a doggy bag from your caterer for after-the-party munchies. Hiring this team as part of your vendor line up should be a no brainer!

From our first meeting with Barb, we knew we were in the best hands to help plan my daughter’s wedding! We loved her down to earth personal approach matched with a vast knowledge of vendors, professional insight, and years of experience. We knew we were in knowledgable, organized, & helpful hands.
Throughout the wedding planning, she & Abby kept us on track with their organizational skills, enthusiasm, & attention to detail. From the initial vendor selection to last minute day of events, their communication remained impeccable. Barb kept in close contact with emails, check ins, and willingly set up phone calls. From the initial consult through the wedding day, Barb & Abby were with us every step of the way.
From the largest to the smallest detail, they had it covered with suggestions and solutions while incorporating our ideas and choices. As mother of the bride, I valued the pep talks, patience, and kindness every step of the way.
The wedding day went smoothly & stress-free in large part due to the team’s calm and confident approach. Every detail had been worked out, but they were prepared for any potential mishap. Many of our guests remarked on the team’s helpfulness & professionalism. Worth Every Penny

Barb and Abby were amazing! We had the “Forevermore” (aka the full planning package) and we never had a single doubt that it was right for us. Prior to hiring a wedding planner we had a feeling that most of the wedding was ‘planned’. Then the questions and timelines started coming in and there was a feeling we were going to get divorced before we got married! With Barb Wired we had easy to manage checklists, great vendor recommendations, and the answer to any questions that arose. Barb is outrageously responsive and her depth of experience is obvious. Abby gave lovely insights into our websites, hotel blocks, and our side events (welcome drinks and brunch). You only get one chance to get a wedding right and having Barb and Abby made it go off without a hitch and with minimal stress. Everytime I mentioned Barb Wired to my now husband he would say without a beat that they were “worth every penny”.

Fantastic team

Barb and her team were exceptional and did an outstanding job making sure all of the moving pieces and parts were covered; Barb and Abby were thorough and patient and helped alleviate our stress and wedding workload. Best in Class, Easy as a Dream

We were lucky enough to be referred to Barb Wired as we began our wedding planning a little over a year before our ceremony. From the first conversation and the questions Barb knew to ask, it was clear that she and her team offered best in class service backed by real experience. What made Barb Wired so essential to our event was two things: the connections to the best vendors available and the professionalism of the staff, particularly Abby. To see the way Abby remained calm and focused under any circumstance was a credit to her as well as Barb Wired as a whole.
Beyond support in connecting us with vendors and keeping us on track of the course of planning, it was the day-of coordination that was invaluable. With the Barb Wired team present, there was nothing for me and my new husband to do but enjoy our celebration with our family and friends. The on-site staff was incredibly accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed and helping us track down whatever wasn't directly in front of us. The trust we had in Abby and Barb made it easy to take a step back and enjoy taking in as much of the day as possible. Barb is the best!!

We worked with Barb for almost three years, through multiple wedding reschedules due to Covid and I can honestly say we would not have made it through without Her. Barb is an expert in the Charlottesville wedding industry and every single one of her recommended vendors exceeded our expectations. Barb also quickly became our advisor on all things relation to Virginia's Covid regulations for large gatherings as we looked to reschedule (and then reschedule again) our Wedding celebration. She absolutely made a time that could have been painfully stressful, easy to navigate and for that I cannot thank her enough. We finally had our Wedding celebration 1/1/22 and it as perfect!!! Truly Fairy Godmother experience!

I could not have been more pleased with Barb's professionalism, kindness, attention to detail, and calm demeanor. We began planning June 2020 for a May 2021 wedding. From the first meeting, all stress was removed. She listened to Hannah’s vision; provided a roadmap and support, from caterers to the band to florists. Barb knows the business and knows the vendors. She never imposed but when asked, always provided her wisdom and insight. When Virginia Governor imposed COVID mandates at farms and wineries, she kept me informed and when the time came, she found another venue for the wedding- just 6 weeks out. Yes. We moved the whole thing. She didn’t miss a beat! Hannah’s wedding was stunning. She enjoyed her day as did me and my husband!!

She is all business- but her heart for her brides is uncompromising.

Best Planner in Charlottesville

On June 1, 2019, my daughter Deidre Smith and Eric Wilson had a magnificent wedding and this would not have happened without Barb Wired.

When we began planning the wedding Deidre came to me and said she wanted Barb Wired as her wedding planner, she had done her research of other wedding planners in Charlottesville. I thought what can a Barb Wired do that I can't do, well let me tell you - EVERYTHING. I've had so many friends who did not use a wedding planner and the horror stories of problems with the vendors, mother/daughter arguments, etc were countless. Well thanks to Barb Wired, I had none of that as she handled everything and I had the pleasure to enjoy and experience every aspect of the whole wedding journey. What a fun and beautiful journey it was!!!

Then we get to the wedding day and what a magical day! Everything went off without a glitch, oh, except Eric forgot his letter - not a problem for Barb. She took charge; she sent someone to the hotel to pick up the letter, rearranged the photos and away we went - down the aisle on time.

To the reception we go, everything was perfect from start to finish! I have and will continue to highly recommend Barb Wired as the Best Wedding Planner in Charlottesville, VA.

Outstanding service and support!

I cannot say enough positive things about Barbara Lundgren with BarbWired. As the mother of the bride, I was lost in planning a wedding and Barb made the whole experience so easy! She has so many valuable contacts in the industry and was able to connect my daughter and I to the very best. She checked in regularly and was so responsive in answering every question. Adding to her load, we recently realized we have to reschedule because the groom will be on assignment for 3 months, so Barb has assisted us with contacting all vendors and retaining deposits toward a future date. We look forward to our continued relationship with her and plan to use her for our two other daughters when it is time to plan their weddings. She is simply the best in the business!

Barb is the best!

My now-husband proposed in December of 2018, and we knew we wanted to get married within a year. We decided on September 27th, 2019. With a relatively short timeline, it was important to us to have professional guidance throughout the planning process. We could not have made a better choice than Barb Wired.

Barb assisted us at every step of the planning process. My husband is Persian, and Barb helped us to seamlessly coordinate two separate ceremonies – an Episcopalian ceremony and a traditional Persian Sofreh Aghd. She also helped us find a beautiful location for the ceremonies and reception, suggested an incredible caterer with a talented chef, secured transportation and accommodations for our guests, and coordinated the timeline for the day with our many other vendors – just to provide a few examples.

Having attended very few weddings ourselves, we were unsure of what to expect. Barb provided us with suggestions and feedback based on her previous experience but respected our decision if we chose to go in a different direction. Once my husband and I had agreed on our vision for the wedding, she worked hard with the other vendors to make it happen. She was quick to respond to every call and email, regardless of the day and time. It was such a comfort to know that we could come to her with any question or complication, and she would look for a solution with positivity and enthusiasm. She really treated us like family.

On the day of the wedding, Barb brought a support team to help make sure everything went smoothly. We felt confident that they would be able to handle any issues we encountered. We are so grateful for the care and attention with which the Barb Wired team oversaw our wedding. It was a beautiful day, and everything went according to the plan. We are so glad we chose to work with this team, and we highly recommend them.

Amazing and best decision!

Barb and her team helped plan the most amazing and beautiful wedding for my husband and I! My whole family cannot stop talking about how wonderful Barb and her team was throughout the planning process and the wedding weekend!! When searching for a wedding planner, I read a review that said "STOP! You have found the one!" I cannot second that statement enough! Barb truly is the one, the Fairy Godmother! From our first conversation, she was very professional, fun, helpful, and excited for our wedding. I always looked forward to each of our talks as I knew she was going to calm me down, help me cross things off a to-do list, or plan a little more and she was always as excited as I was. As the wedding day came closer, she and her team helped to ensure everything was in order and we would be stress free. During the venue walkthrough, rehearsal, and wedding day, Barb and her team ensured everything ran smoothing! Our families received many compliments about how wonderfully everything went and how great Barb's team was! I could go on and on about how amazing Barb and her team is, but the bottom line is I strongly recommend Barb Wired to any bride! I am certain you will be just as happy as my husband and I!

Great to work with!

Barb and her team are great professionals to work with. Barb is always knows what needs to be done, and stays organized and on top of everything! On the wedding day, she made sure our wedding went off perfectly! We never had to worry about logistics or who was taking care of something because she thought of everything! Just the right amount of everything!

Professional, knowledgeable, and thorough.

Being the mother of the bride and living in another state I wanted someone of her experience. Her website convinced me, had her picture, her background details of what she had to offer. Other websites didnt have a specific person which did not appeal to me. Thanks to Barb the wedding turned out beautiful!!! Several guests commented it was the nicest wedding they had been to!

Amazing!!!

My recent wedding day was nothing short of perfect. This is mostly due to the help of Barb and her team. They took care of everything and always had great advise. Every single vendor I dealt with was exceptional and they were all hand selected by Barb. Most importantly, on the day of, Barb and her team oversaw every detail and were always anticipating our needs. They were like stealthy ninjas who always had a drink or appetizer ready and waiting right when you needed it. We never had a worry about any detail because they took care of everything! Our day wouldn't have been as amazing as it was without them!! I couldn't recommend them more highly!

Incredible

Barb is an amazing planner. She is so organized, professional, and is looking out for the best interest of her clients. We had an awful experience with a venue and had to change 2 weeks from our wedding date to a completely new place. Barb worked really hard to basically help us start from scratch. She was so flexible with all the changes that we had that were so last minute.
On the day of the wedding, my husband and I didn't have any worries and it was perfect! Barb and Hannah were fantastic! I got so many compliments from family/friends at the wedding about how great they were. So thankful for all the hard work they both put in to make sure my husband and I had a day to remember!

Perfection Personified

We interviewed other wedding planners but Barb was our clear favorite. It takes quite a leap of faith to entrust such a major event to a stranger, but there was an immediate sense that Barb was someone we could trust. She listened to us but made informed suggestions that ended up creating a perfect day. The team members are consummate professionals: organized, sensitive, and willing to respond quickly and unobtrusively whenever curve balls seemed threatening. Barb also hooked us up with the best vendors we could have envisioned and worked incredibly well with all of them. I heartily recommend Barbed Wire without any reservations whatsoever.

Best choice we made over the year and half of wedding planning. We left another planner for Barb and her team two months until our wedding. Barb picked up the phone moments after my inquiry went in and responded at 11:00pm when I confirmed we would be proceeding with her services. You will not find a more accommodating team! Hiring Barb and her team was the best thing I did. We have sold a house without a realtor but now I would not think of having a wedding without a planner and I would want Barb. I'm pretty organized and theoretically I could have done it but there are a myriad of details that would never have occurred to me and I would have been a crazy woman by the time the Big Day rolled around. Barb applied experience and foresight to the planning process to avoid foreseeable problems and make sure the wedding had the elements and feel we wanted. Stuff went wrong-and when you gather 200 people and try to have a momentous occasion followed by drinking and dancing--that's a lot of moving parts and one of the parts is going to have an issue. I was blissfully unaware of the glitches because Barb and her team took care of them. This is the bottom line: it was a magical day and everybody had a great time, including me, mom of the bride. That doesn't happen by accident! Thank you Barb!

My daughter was married in Sept 2016 and people are still raving about her wedding! Subsequent to the wedding other future MOBs have asked me "What was the key to planning such a great wedding?" I always tell them that hiring a wedding planner was the single best decision my daughter and I made as it relates to planning for such an important event. Specifically, hiring Barb Lundgren and her team enabled Meg & I to be confident that all of the planning milestones were met on time, that we had inside info about the best vendors and that the vendors would work seamlessly together. We were able to reduce the inevitable moments of stress which made the planning process even more special. Barb, Iris, and their team were fantastic in handling our big (~ 150 guest) event. It was important for us to understand that they were great about suggesting vendors, and very focused on our wedding day, but we needed to be prepared to make a lot of the decisions in between. This balance was sensible and important.

On the wedding day, the team took care of innumerable details that we never could have juggled. The guests have, since the wedding, have marveled at all of the little things that fell into place. We know that wouldn't have been true without Barb Wired.

It meant a lot to us that the whole team was so positive, professional, and supportive on the big day.

Barb gave us a great first impression with her transparency, helpfulness, interest in getting to know us, and a planning package with a price point that worked for us. We felt confident in her knowledge of Charlottesville-area weddings and all the vendors we met throughout the process gushed about Barb and her team, so we knew we were in good hands. She was very responsive to all our questions and issues, especially in the beginning and end of the process when there was a lot going on. Every time we spoke, we felt assured that things were on track. Barb was so helpful in her recommendations that we never felt overwhelmed or stressed. We were able to work in our own ideas, with Barb helping us figure out the best way to do so based on all of her experience. During our venue walkthrough, rehearsal, and wedding day itself, Barb and her team ran everything so smoothly - we really were able to just enjoy ourselves and it meant a lot to just spend time with our guests, eat, and dance, and not worry about anything else! Barb and Kimberle were our "day-of" coordinators, and were absolutely a joy to work with! We had a large wedding (over 300 on guest list), with all kinds of complicating factors (transportation from Chapel to vineyard for reception, outdoor reception, rain in forecast, many vendors, etc.). Barb and Kimberle were so helpful all throughout the planning process, meeting with us over the phone and at our reception site, to ensure that every single detail was perfect. They are so experienced and knowledgable, that we didn't worry about a thing during the days leading up to the wedding. There were all sorts of issues that came up with our reception venue, from food to transportation, and Barb and Kimberle handled it all so that we didn't sweat any of the details. Kimberle was our on-site coordinator the day of our wedding, and had everything planned and executed to perfection. She was a very calming influence, because not only could we SEE that everything was handled, but we KNEW that Kimberly had predicted and taken care of anything that had or would come up. Barb Wired was the best investment we made in our wedding, and we couldn't recommend them more!

When I chose to work with Barb Wired, I was looking for an event planning organization that had an established reputation in the area and one where my expertise would contribute to highly successful events EVERY time. Failure and shoddiness wasn't an option for me and my personal reputation. I have spent many years working in event planning and know quite a few vendors. So, they were the obvious choice to start my research. Barb Wired was almost always the first company name that surfaced. Naturally, I contacted Barb Lundgren and we began working together. Barb Wired has worked with the Alzheimer's Association Central and Western Virginia on our annual golf tournament and gala for 3 years. Barb and her team are experts at making events go smoothly. They are great communicators before, during and after the event. One of the greatest joys in life is watching your best friend get down on one knee and ask those four words every girl dreams of hearing. What no one tells you though is how terrifying the next morning is when you realized you have to plan the biggest and most expensive celebration of your life and you have no clue where to start. Luckily for me I knew exactly who to call…my soon-to-be mother in LOVE, Barb. There are no words to describe how crucial Barb was to our special day. Not only as the mother of the groom, but as my planner, friend, and calming force. I could truly go on for hours about everything Barb and her team did for us but one of the biggest reason Barb Wired is so successful (besides their hard work, attention to detail, and just being darn amazing) is their connections within the wedding industry. Every vendor we contacted just raved about Barb and her team and everyone WANTS to work with them. We had vendors practically begging to work our wedding as a “Thank You” to Barb for all she had done for them over the years. Perfection; the first word that comes to mind! My daughter recently married Jeff, one of Barbara's handsome sons, and what a blessing he is to our family. As if marrying Jeff wasn't enough; he is the son of the most wonderful event planner there could be! My daughter got to have the wedding of her dreams due in large part to the talent, creativity, thoroughness and professionalism of Barbara and her Barb Wired staff. Throughout the planning process we found that vendors were more than happy, or preferred, to work with the Barb Wired team. This speaks volumes about the reputation they have in the Charlottesville and surrounding communities. As the wedding approached, Iris and Lauren became invaluable to us. They worked with us to create the event schedule for the weekend and once it was confirmed, we never needed to think again about logistics. I cannot CANNOT stress enough how essential it is to have a wedding planner. Barb and her team did everything. I oscillated between being really into wedding details and not wanting to make a single decision and they took it all in stride and created the perfect day. The wedding exceeding our expectations and as far as I know... nothing went wrong and THAT is the magic and blessing of a wedding planner like Barb! In preparing to plan my daughter's wedding I knew we needed and wanted a wedding planner. There were so many things that Barb., Iris and their team just took care of that it was so worth the money. In the beginning it was about finding the best vendors, Barb Wired did all the recommending and we used so many of their suggestions. They always looked out for us, our budget and the bride and groom's preferences.
The Barb Wired team were so responsive throughout the year long planning process and as the date drew near I always felt we were their priority even though I knew they were servicing other clients. The day of was all about the bride and ensuring it was flawless. We all know nothing is flawless, but any issues were handled with calm and professionalism. "We will take care of that." was the phrase of the day. I have great respect for Barb Lundgren and her team at Barb Wired and would highly recommend them for anyone considering wedding planners.

We hired Barb and her fab team to plan our daughter's wedding. Best decision EVER. Barb helped us plan for things we would have never thought of on our own. When we made last minute add-ons to plans ...she helped us make it all come together successfully. Our friends and family have been telling us that this was the best wedding they have ever attended and I credit Barb & her team. My daughter was married last month (June 2016) and Barb Wired was the event planner hired to assist us with the wedding and reception. First, Barb was very helpful, professional and timely during the entire planning process when we had a plethora of questions and needs. She would call or skpe, whatever we needed in order to assist us. She recommended vendors, and worked diligently with us to set in place the timeline for the wedding and reception. Barb Wired coordinated all of our vendors so that they were in perfect sync with one another. On the day of the wedding, our director, Lauren, and her staff were there to make sure everything came together smoothly and went out of their way to make sure this was the wedding my daughter had envisioned. Not only did they accomplish that task, but they exceeded our expectations taking care of details we hadn't even considered. I actually had to laugh because I needed to write a check to a vendor right before the wedding and did not have a pen. I barely whispered about needing one and Lauren popped up right behind me with a pen in her hand. I still wonder how she managed to be everywhere all at once. Lauren knew exactly what needed to be done and when. She directed our large wedding party with ease and made sure everyone knew where to be and exactly what to do. There was no stress on the wedding day because if anything did go wrong, I certainly was not aware of it (which is exactly how it should be!). I cannot say enough about Barb Wired as a whole and each of these ladies individually. I would highly recommend their services to any new bride. I have no doubt you will be writing the same complimentary review!

Barb has over 30 years of experience in event planning. As a native of the Charlotesville/Albermarle area, she is very familiar with the area, available venues and vendors needed for any event. She works with her clients to ensure a perfect fit in all aspects of the event. She has a well-trained support team that have the same work ethics as Barb. Her upbeat attitude and love of people results in a fun and meaningful experience for everyone involved. Barb and Barb Wired will not disappoint.

We purchased the month-of coordination and it saved my life! There are just so many details when planning a wedding, many of which I wouldn't have thought about myself. "What would we have done without you, Barb?!" was what I remember repeatedly saying on our wedding day. From day 1, she and her team have been truly fantastic in helping us with our day-of-coordinating services. Barb was always available via e-mail with any questions I had, and if it was extensive, she made time to discuss over the phone.
The walk-through before the wedding day was extremely helpful, and my husband and I kept commenting - to each other - about she went over things we didn't even think about!
On the wedding day, everything went smoothly. Her team helped us set up decor, and got the bridal party and family moving along as scheduled. I couldn't be happier with Barb Wired, and Barb is an absolutely amazing lady!

Barb and her team at Barb Wired are truly amazing. I always wanted to get married in Charlottesville, and since this would be a destination wedding for us, I knew I would need a wedding planner as well. As soon as I began researching planners in the area, Barb was the first, and only, one I contacted, and I'm so glad I did. She was the best investment my husband and I could have made. She responded to my inquiry the same day, and we talked on the phone for 30-45 minutes. She was so thorough, asking questions my husband and I hadn't even considered. I immediately knew we made the right decision. For the next 10 months, Barb made herself available to me via email and phone and was always super responsive. She organized a list of recommended vendors in the area, so all we had to do was call and inquire. Every vendor we booked with was the absolute best; we honestly experienced no issues while planning this wedding. Barb had two other weddings the same day as ours, but the team we worked with, especially Carmen, was incredibly friendly, professional, and flexible. The behind-the-scenes work they did was magical. Even though Barb had other weddings to attend, she still made a surprise visit to our, truly making her the "fairy godmother" we referred to her as throughout the planning. I cannot say enough great things about Barb and her team, and I highly recommend Barb Wired to anyone seeking planning services in the Charlottesville area.

Hiring Barb and her team was the best decision we made for our wedding! All of her vendor recommendations were spot-on for exactly what we wanted for our wedding (delicious, family-style food with reasonably priced bar and a great DJ to keep all of the guests on the dance floor all night long). Her experience in the wedding industry and relationships with so many Charlottesville wedding vendors was so evident- each of our vendors stated they love working with Barb's team, and that we had nothing to worry about when it came to the logistics of our wedding day. Barb and her team kept everything moving smoothly, and most importantly, my husband, my family and I were able to relax and enjoy our wedding without ever worrying about any logistical details. We can't recommend her highly enough!

Barb and her team were wonderful. We hired Barb early on in wedding planning, but our main concern/need was help during the weeks leading up to and the day of the wedding. Barb handled all of our timeline, vendor coordinating, final confirmations, etc. so that we could focus on family and friends and enjoying the day. She also made many helpful recommendations for other vendors and events that we would not have found otherwise.

We also had a weather "hiccup" with a fast arriving (and quickly departing) thunderstorm over our outdoor vineyard wedding. Barb and her team were able to coordinate with the venue and all of the vendors so that we could do the cocktail hour first and wait out the rain, and then were able to get married outside. She pulled it off perfectly and as if that was the plan all along. We would not have been able to do it without her! It was an amazing night, and Barb and her team were absolutely critical to pulling it off.

One of the biggest pieces of advise my husband and I give to our friends is to get a wedding planner! Barb and her team were top notch. They clearly knew what they were doing and shared several helpful tips throughout our entire engagement. Barb seems to always be available through e-mail and always made an effort to have our ideas come to life. The wedding day was so smooth! It was wonderful having Barb to coordinate with all of our vendors (most of whom she'd worked with before) and she came up with a itinerary for the day. She had several ideas and tips for things that we hadn't even thought of and she was so calm & helpful the day of. She even had a headset & would tell the bartender to bring the bride a drink :)

We could not have made it through our wedding planning process without Barbara. Though my husband and I currently live in California, when we became engaged, we knew we wanted our wedding to be in Charlottesville as the town holds a special place in our hearts for various reasons. As I began planning, I quickly became overwhelmed by the challenges of organizing a wedding from a distance. I realized I was not familiar with local venues and vendors, and on top of that, a three hour time difference and miles of distance made coordinating phone calls and meetings difficult. We hired Barbara and everything changed.
Barbara is very well connected and highly respected within the Charlottesville wedding industry. After our first conversation, I knew I was in good hands. Planning became fun as Barbara guided us every step of the way. Despite the distance between us, Barbara always made time for my calls and was always extremely prompt in her email responses. She is a busy lady, but she always made me feel like I was her first priority—I truly don’t know how she did it! We are forever grateful to Barbara and to her team for working so hard to create such a perfect day for us. Through the craziness of the day, they were always smiling and ready to jump in and assist with whatever was needed. I know everything ran so smoothly because of the hard work of dedicated and passionate people. My husband and I were able to enjoy our guests and relax at our reception knowing Barbara and her team were taking care of everything behind the scenes. Seeing Barbara the morning of my wedding was like seeing a friend. I was so happy to see her and have her with me. Aside from being an incredible event planner, therapist :) and voice of reason, Barbara is a lovely, warm, caring person. I was extremely impressed and pleased with how Barb Wired and the staff created "magic" for our daughter's wedding. It was everything she had wanted it to be and without Barb it certainly would not have been! I felt like I was a "guest" at the wedding, with no worries and just there to enjoy it. No matter what questions we had, Barb was always available and so resourceful as well as creative. Her recommendations were helpful and she was never pushy if we decided to go another route. I would highly recommend her services. My husband admitted after the wedding that after seeing her in action there was no way we could have done it ourselves without having a major catastrophe! Barb Wired came highly recommended to us, and as soon as we met them it became clear that they were seasoned professionals who'd seen and done it all. They were perfect--unobtrusive when we needed to be left alone, and there immediately when we needed them. Particularly in the last couple of months, Barb and her staff were absolute lifesavers, coordinating all our vendors' details and saving us innumerable headaches. They were warm and personable without being pushy, and respected our needs and wants while offering their own (usually spot-on) ideas in a straightforward and low-key manner. The day-of coordination was seamless, and it was a huge relief to be able to tell the guests who came to ask us for logistical details, "just ask the lady with the clipboard--she's the boss." Our only regret is that we don't have "the lady with the clipboard" to run the rest of our lives!

I thought that hiring the manager at our venue as a day-of coordinator would be enough for us, but it really wasn't. Doing that still leaves you on our own to shop and source vendors, negotiate contracts, all while never knowing if you're getting taken advantage of. It feels like you have no one on your side. Barb and her team are there for YOU and you only - they are YOUR advocates and will help you navigate a complicated industry so that you have the best experience possible.

Barbara Lundgren is THE expert of wedding planning. She is organized with project planning templates and extremely professional. Her and her event planning team at Barb Wired are friendly, courteous, and a joy to work with. The team communicates well and made us feel very comfortable throughout out the planning process.

We had a traditional Indian Hindu wedding, which comprised of a Sangeet (Rehearsal Dinner/ Dinner-Dance Party), Wedding Ceremony, and Reception. There were a lot of moving parts and given the size and remote locations (gorgeous venues!! that Barb helped us pick!) we were able to put together the most intricate plan for a wedding!

Barbara's calm demeanor made all of the events go through smoothly. She worked through any last-minute changes and pressure gracefully without worrying me, the bride, or my family. She handled any obstacles and came up with solutions on her own and then informed me of the challenge and the solution afterwards so that I was in the loop and didn't have to worry at all!

Barbara is well-connected with the most talented and professional vendors to create what I call a DREAM TEAM that truly made our dream wedding come true. It was such a hit! Our guests are still raving about the events.

Barbara, the Barb Wired team, as well as the vendors that comprised our DREAM TEAM are so dear to our hearts. We left the wedding feeling like we had an extended family. They treated us with respect and love.

I highly recommend Barb Wired to any Bride, Groom and their families. It will be a magical and unforgettable experience. You will also end up with life-long friends!

I hired Barb with the intention of having her be the day-of coordinator for our wedding. I was worried about some logistics (most notably, transportation to the UVA Chapel from two different hotels in such a short time frame) and the small details that I -- never having been married before -- would be likely to forget or not know in the first place.

When my fiancée and I spoke with Barb for the initial consultation, we both knew she was the right choice: personable, experienced, and extremely competent. We had tons of questions, and she had answers for everything. She doesn't have a "day-of" plan, so we hired her for the "month-of", which meant we got her help with some of the vendor coordination and logistical concerns in the month or so run up to the wedding.

She saved our butts on transportation and helped guide us through things (like the ceremony details) that neither of us had a clue about. She made both the rehearsal and the wedding day go very smoothly, and we had no issues in large part thanks to her.

It is hard to say all that she did for us, but I think that the low level of stress we both felt (and my mother-in-law felt) on the day of the wedding was a direct result of her guidance and help through the process.

If you're looking for a wedding coordinator or planner in Charlottesville, you'd be a fool not to hire her.

Barbara and her team did an AMAZING job for our wedding at the Visitor Center at Monticello. We can't thank them enough for ensuring that every detail was covered and that everything ran smoothly throughout the night. Barbara and Shelly were incredibly thorough using checklists that included every vendor and timelines telling every member of our wedding party and immediate family exactly where they needed to be and when (which we desperately needed with all of our wedding party and both of families coming in from out of town)! Our families are still raving about how professional, sweet and helpful Shelly was at the rehearsal and the day of the wedding. When my daughter decided to have a destination wedding at House Mountain Inn in Lexington, VA, I knew that we could not do planning on our own. We hired Barbara Lundgren of Barb Wired and from the start she assisted in working up a plan and providing us with vendor information. She gently pushed us when it was necessary and truly helped to keep our planning on track. Barb also has a very nice collection of items that we were able to use for free at the wedding service/reception. The wedding day is when Barbara truly shines as she and her staff take full control of the day and leave you to just enjoy it. When our daughter and future son-in-law asked me and my husband if they could be married and hold the reception at our home in Midlothian, VA we were overjoyed! I thought that a relatively small (65 guests) home wedding would be a breeze. My daughter and I soon realized that a wedding and reception is much more complicated than a cocktail party or family BBQ, particularly since I was in Midlothian, and my daughter was living and working out of state. Barb was wonderful! She came out to our house twice before the wedding to give us advice on the logistics of an outdoor home wedding (plus a rain plan) and to meet with the caterers when they came for their site visit. Barb was very good about keeping in touch with my daughter and me through emails and phone calls. This kept us always "in the loop." I am so glad we hired Barb! She and her team made sure everything ran smoothly from the wedding rehearsal through the ceremony and reception. They took care of the details and logistics so that everyone was able to enjoy the wedding!

Barb and her team did a great job. We planned the wedding in less than 6 weeks and she was very flexible coming up with a package that suited my budget and needs. Barb was absolutely the best investment we made in our wedding. I did not think I had room in my budget (I really didn't...), but I had a great friend who worked with Barb in the past, and told me that I would not enjoy my own wedding if I did not have a day-of wedding coordinator. I called and met with several people in the CVille area who offer these services, but Barb really impressed me with her professionalism, her recommendations, and her rates, which were far more reasonable than the competition. My fiance and I decided to move forward with her, and I am so grateful that we did.

I loved wedding planning, and thought I did not need a planner for all the details...but I had NO idea how many details there are! Barb did know, and she helped me take care of every single one. She knows everyone in the CVille wedding industry, and they know and love her. She taught me how to create a schedule, where our planning wouldn't work, etc., and she was a constant resource for all of our questions and worries. She also told us where we did not need to waste our money (e.g. champagne for all).

Without Barb at our rehearsal, we might have been there for 3 hours. She got us out in 30 minutes. On the day of the wedding, Barb made sure everything happened on time, took care of every concern my husband and I had, and made sure we had a beautiful, beautiful day. Without her, I would have worried, and tried to be a hostess...instead, I just had a wonderful time. Also, she brought 3-4 interns and assistants, so I felt like I had a whole team of people helping!

If you are a bride, I recommend skipping a less important cost--like champagne--and hiring Barb instead. Our wedding would not have been the same without her.

We hired Barb for Day-of services, and really enjoyed working with her. Though our plan was officially for 6 weeks prior to the wedding, she was always available and willing to answer our questions months out from the big day. She was flexible and made time to meet with us whenever we were in town, and was always prompt when responding to emails. When there was an unanticipated change at our reception site, she advocated for us and ensured that our plans would still be carried through. She took care of absolutely everything on the day of the wedding-- I was worry-free. The reception went remarkably smoothly. Working with Barb, I got the sense that she has an immense amount of experience and has learned what's important and what isn't. We are very grateful to her for her outstanding services.
