Amazingly talented

Avery is the best! I’m not an easy client when it comes to makeup, but I brought photos to my wedding trial, and Avery understood what I was looking for right off the bat. All my bridesmaids loved their makeup, and she even graciously squeezed in my mom at the last minute who hadn’t originally wanted her makeup done. She’s also just so easy-going and personable. Thanks, Avery!

I've never felt more beautiful in my life

Avery is the best - in every way. If you are looking for someone who just gets the natural, effortless makeup look, look no further. From my initial trial with her, all the way to my wedding day, she made me feel so beautiful, radiant and most importantly, like myself. She is also the warmest, kindest soul. I could talk to her for hours!

Additionally, all my bridesmaids also got their makeup done with her. I have been in a lot of weddings. Most times, your girlfriends aren't huge fans of the makeup. I can honestly tell you that my friends looked like models. Every one of them remarked about how beautiful they felt (see attached photo of a few of them!). Seeing my friends feel so damn beautiful was so special to me.

Thank you Avery for being you and for making us all feel like the best version of ourselves!

I felt beautiful!

Avery herself wasn't available, but her associate Colleen did my makeup for both my engagement photos and my wedding. I am someone who normally hates the way I look in photos, but I couldn’t stop staring at myself! I wanted a “natural elegant” look, and Colleen delivered perfectly, with a really fun personality to boot. My wedding makeup lasted all night, and I felt beautiful.

Incredible Makeup Artist

I didn't even know I could look this good! If only I could bring Avery home with me and have her do my makeup everyday! Avery not only gave me a makeup lesson empowering me to do a better job with my own make-up but she also gave me several makeup sessions preparing me for photo shoots and videos. The biggest gift though was when she came to my home and did my makeup for my DIY home wedding. Not only did her wonderful, joyful, fun and calming presence help soothe my nerves for my wedding, but she also made me look Uh....mazing! I wanted a natural look and she is a pro at making me look like I don't even really have makeup on. How does she do it?! She also knows about natural makeup which I really value as I prefer to use makeup without chemicals. Avery is not just an incredible make up artist, she is also an incredible person and I feel so blessed to know her. Every time I see Avery, it is a great day! I highly recommend her!!! I plan to use her for the rest of my life anytime I need my makeup done. She rocks!

Perfection

Avery is really, REALLY good at makeup. She's also such a professional and so personable. We had a trial run, I showed her some pictures and explained what I wanted and she just nailed it perfectly. Would absolutely recommend her—the best!

Avery is a magician!! She can do wonders with makeup/eyelashes. I cannot say enough great things about Avery. I felt beautiful and it is thanks to AA. I wish I was close enough to have her do my makeup every day of my life. She listened to what I wanted, she is sooooo sweet and the best part, so talented. My makeup stayed on for 24 hours! ( I don't recommend trying that but I accidentally slept in my makeup and it was still beautiful the next day!!) Thank you sweet Avery! I heart you! xoxo

Avery is absolutely AMAZING!! She is one of the sweetest, most patient, professional people I've ever met. She never made us feel rushed and accommodated day-of changes to the hair & makeup schedule without batting an eye. The girl could seriously be a celebrity makeup artist. Not exaggerating. SHE IS A MAKEUP MAGICIAN! Amazing. We LOVED Avery and are currently plotting ways to move her to San Antonio so we can have her at our disposal. :) Book Avery! You absolutely won't be disappointed.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Avery of Avery Allen Makeup! I've had the opportunity to hire her for a couple of occasions and the results always have exceeded my expectations. What I love about her services most is that she is incredible at making sure you still look "like you" when the application is complete. Often times makeup artists have gone too extreme and I feel like a weird version of myself that isn't quite natural. But with Avery, I've always felt like the best version of me, even if I wanted to glam things up a bit. I most recently worked with Avery for my wedding day makeup and she truly hit a home run with me and the entire bridal party. Thanks to her expertise, she achieved the look I had been dreaming of and I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. And the entire bridal party were so ecstatic and looked FABULOUS! She's a natural talent and I look forward to hiring her again in the future!

Avery is simply the best! She made me and my wedding party look BEAUTIFUL on our big day! She is very sweet and easy going - perfect kind of person to be around while you are preparing for one of the biggest moments of your life! I liked her so much that I'm now using her to do my makeup for other events as well! Would definitely recommend you book her and her team!

I can't begin to explain how amazing Avery is. Not only is she super talented and knows exactly how to create the look you desire while still bringing out your natural features, she is a super sweet person. Getting married is a strenuous process, so when you're working with vendors that you actually enjoy being around, it is a huge plus. Avery will definitely be my "go to" for any occasion where I want to treat myself - she is really that good.

Avery is so great! She is such a sweet person and she is hands down the best makeup artist. I felt AMAZING and looked gorgeous on my wedding day and so did my bridesmaids. I was beyond pleased with finding her. My girlfriends felt beautiful as well! Avery brings out your features and makes you look pretty and natural. You don't want to look like someone else on your wedding day! I had a trial with her and it went so well and on my wedding day she nailed it! My makeup and lashes were still on the next morning! I know, I know, I went to bed with makeup on, but now you girls know that your makeup will last all night. And into the next day! I recommend Avery and I will be using her services in the future! 5 stars.

Wedding Date was June 14, 2014:
Avery Allen is a top notch professional makeup artist! My daughter was adamant about doing her own makeup for her wedding as she does such a beautiful job, However, her wedding planner suggested that she have someone pamper her on her wedding day and she was spot on when we hired Avery Allen! She not only suggested a trial run, she listened to our concerns and everyone looked amazing!! I had never had my makeup done professionally and it was such a treat! She made me look so pretty! My daughter was extremely happy (since she is so picky about her makeup) and each bridesmaid (8) could not have been happier! Avery's style and expertise made for a wonderful experience and I highly recommend using her for any occasion. She is calm, listens to you and produces a professional outcome in her work! In addition, her prices are more than fair and she even travelled to the wedding site to make us all look fabulous! Thank you Avery! We certainly are glad to have worked with you!

I worked with Avery for my wedding in Austin. I found Avery through a referral from another make-up artist who was booked, and I think I absolutely came out better using Avery than I would have anyone else.

On Avery suggestion, I did a trial run with my make-up a few weeks before the wedding. I showed her photos of the look I wanted and did my make-up in the same fashion. At the end of the trial we talked about what I liked and didn't. We tweaked the look a couple of times and took some photos in the sun so that I could get an idea of how my make-up would look for my outdoor wedding.

On the day of the wedding Avery was a dream to work with. She was on-time to the site where we were getting ready, and was set-up before the first "appointment" time of the day. She brought an assistant with her to help with the bridal party, and her assistant was also top notch. All of us left that day feeling like pampered beauty queens. Varying from full on glamour girl to an "I rarely wear make-up" tom boy, Avery customized each look to the person's desired result.

And my day of make-up was EVEN BETTER than my trial run. She was able to put together exactly what I wanted and I have never felt more beautiful. I looked like a brighter version of my daily self without feeling overly made up or like a drag queen.

Note that my wedding was all outdoors and somehow managed to include: tears, sweat AND rain...and this make-up withstood it all. The airbrushed foundation was easily smooted out with a soft sponge for areas where I had cried it off. And I look radiant in pics even after all of the elements and emotions took their toll. I cannot recommend Avery enough!

Avery is so talented and knowledgeable, not to mention that she is a miracle worker! I woke up the morning of my wedding with HUGE swollen eyes. Avery wasn't phased at all and worked her magic to make me look and feel absolutely beautiful. She is the BEST and I couldn't recommend her more highly. She is a total sweetheart too!

Avery came highly recommended to me from an acquaintance that has been in the beauty industry for many many years...someone who's opinion I trust with respect to stylish and modern trends.

Avery was very responsive with communications from the get-go and her rates are reasonable...I researched many artists before making a final decision. She was also flexible as far as driving outside of the Austin area and arriving on time, starting makeup for myself and my bridesmaids at the Inn we were staying, and then transitioning to the venue for "final touch" pictures with the photographer.

She is just adorable and her personality is equally lovely. Even though I was working on my laptop, talking on my cell, chatting with my bridesmaids, tearing up...she was cool, collected, and was able to work through all the distractions while applying my makeup. I didn't even really notice the work being done...which is a good thing!

As for the makeup itself, I opted for the airbrush upgrade and never once had to touch up. I have oily skin, so I used oil-blotting paper and also reapplied lipgloss for pictures...but that is standard maintenance for me. Everything looked smooth and felt comfortable, even the false lashes.

I would definitely recommend Avery to a friend. (By the way, I am a real person and real October bride...not an acquaintence of Avery's...anonymous due to privacy only :)

I was looking for a good makeup artist in Austin after having a terrible makeup trial at a local Austin salon and found Avery's name listed in the credits for an fashion editorial spread I saw online. I reached out to her and luckily she was free for my wedding in June. All I can say is WOW!

Avery did a fantastic job with makeup for my wedding and rehearsal dinner. I went for a trial the day of my engagment party and ended up wearing the makeup out that night as well. She nailed both of my different looks. Photos from the three events made me look flawless. Even when I sweat all day at my outdoor wedding (TX heat in June!) you couldn't tell in my photos. She was an expert at air-brush foundation, fake lashes, etc. making it all look super natural. I have never had so many compliments!

Additionally, Avery has a great personality. She is charming and funny and puts you at ease immediately. We had a sort of scheduling disaster the day of the wedding at the hotel I was getting ready at and Avery was completely calm under pressure. She was flexible, even when put in a stressful situation and handled herself with grace and professionalism. She did the makeup for my sister, friend and mom and everyone looked beautiful and different (no cookie cutter makeup on everyone's face).

Take a look at the photos on Avery's instagram account (@averyallenmakeup) and you can see some glimpses of her flawless work. I cannot say enough positive things about Avery and her services. Do yourself a favor and book her immediately!

I was so thankful to have Avery be part of my wedding. I literally gave her no ideas of what I wanted and had to cancel my trial run the day prior. I simply told her how I wore my makeup on a daily basis and my only request was that she make me "bright eyed". I was concerned I would look tired as I wear glasses but would not be wearing them for the ceremony. She absolutely nailed it. I felt and looked incredible!

Another important thing to mention is that Avery is so super chill which is so wonderfully comforting during a harried wedding weekend. My wedding day would not have been the same without her. She's cute as a button and so good at what she does. Thanks for making this 40 something bride feel like a million bucks!

I found Avery through a friend to do my makeup for my wedding in June 2013. She did an absolutely phenomenal job!! After working with me through a trial-run, Avery listened to how I wanted to look on that day and came up with the perfect look. Not over-done, the makeup was flawless.

I received so many compliments on my makeup on my wedding day. Avery really made me look better than I ever could have imagined.

She came to the venue the afternoon of my wedding day to take care of my makeup. Because I knew I was in good hands, I was able to relax and soak it all in - I can't tell you how priceless it is to put yourself in a professional's hands!

Not only is she amazing at what she does, she is the sweetest person ever! Avery was the only vendor I used to send a thank you note after the event. It says a lot about a person and their character to take the time to write a hand written thank you.

You would be lucky to have Avery to work with for any special occasion!

I was so happy to have Avery as my makeup artist on my big day! She created the exact look I wanted and I couldn't have been happier. Love Avery! Effortless, romantic glam

We had the best time with Avery her assistant wedding day. She enhanced all our features and made us feel amazing. Avery is super easy to work with and had a great relationship with our hairstylist so everything came together perfectly. She also made sure I had powder and lipcolor to last the night.
