My daughter and son in law were recently married; Kara & Bri were their wedding planners. Their expertise and guidance resulted in a magical & unforgettable wedding day that exceeded our expectations. Thanks for a perfect day!
We are incredibly lucky and grateful to have put our wedding in Kara and Bri’s hands. Their knowledge of our venue and their confidence that every problem could be solved and every dream of ours could be executed was a huge comfort during the famously stressful planning process. Their positivity and encouragement kept us on the right emotional track throughout the lead-up to the big day, and they were receptive to our feedback and quick to find solutions whenever we felt less than 100% about a decision or a process. Every vendor we interviewed (and later hired) who had worked with them before exuded a very reassuring trust that Kara and Bri would get them what they needed, and communication throughout was very solid. Our wedding day was perfect, and we were very proud to learn after the fact how few fires they’d had to put out, but of course much of that was a credit to them. Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party for the Record Books!
Kara and Bri of Amore Events were the geniuses who brought all of our dreams to reality. We needed help planning a formal dinner for 70 and a welcome party for about 120--and no one in the wedding party lives nearby the wonderful Charlottesville, Virginia, wedding location. Over about a year, Amore Events "worked the plan" for us and helped us choose a perfect location--one that was elegant, had delicious food, and allowed some of our older family members to easily access the venue. We held both events at The Forum Hotel (Kimpton) on the North Grounds of UVa. Food, decor, music, and ambience were all wonderful and the mood was light-hearted and fun. We enjoyed the evening with NO stress!

I can't imagine going through the wedding planning process without Bri and Kara. From our very first phone call, they impressed me so much with their professionalism and it carried through the whole process. Bri and Kara are all you could ever want in wedding planners! From the first meeting, they made the process incredibly easy for us. They came to every meeting incredibly organized and kept detailed notes of everything we went over. Throughout the planning phases they gave us enough options for vendors without overwhelming us and gave great feedback for vendors they have worked with previously. On the day of the wedding they went above and beyond to make it the most seamless day despite some weather challenges that forced us to move our ceremony inside at the last minute. Wonderful wedding planners and people
We are so thankful that Kara and Bri planned our wedding. They helped to create the wedding of our dreams and made it so much fun along the way. They created a perfect aesthetic and style for the day (we didn't start the process with strong feelings on any of that kind of stuff, so we really needed guidance there). They also prevented us from feeling stressed about vendors or any aspect of the planning process. And when the big day got closer and we had to rearrange some things, they were great and quickly handled the changes. We had a lot of moving pieces to our wedding--we had the ceremony at a church in downtown Charlottesville and the reception at Veritas--and Kara and Bri made sure it all went smoothly. We cannot imagine having done it without them. Plus, they are both so much fun and such genuinely kind people, which is so important when you are embarking on a yearlong wedding planning process. We would recommend them to anyone.

Because we were not Charlottesville locals, we knew that we would benefit from having a planner as a part of our team. We had an absolutely seamless experience with Kara & Bri as a part of Amore. They handled every detail from start to finish with ease, understood my vision, and always provided incredible vendors to select from early in the process so that we always had our date available. When a small issue arose on wedding day with the table linens not shipping (due to the fault of the linens company, not Amore!), they handled the entire situation with grace, never worrying the bride and groom and handling the problem in such a way that all the replacements still fit the vision.
Despite some challenging family circumstances on our big day, Kara & Bri were able to navigate everything with ease and support us despite various challenges. When the father of the bride was finicky about contracts with vendors, Kara & Bri always did the absolute best job either putting his mind at ease, or helping him negotiate with vendors to make sure everyone was satisfied with the end result. We couldn't have done it without them, and by far the best choice we made for planning our weekend was working with Amore. Can't recommend them highly enough!

Kara and Bri from Amore Events made our day the most impeccable. Our Pippin Hill wedding was one of dreams and I cannot be more pleased with their services. We had a wonderful experience planning our wedding with Amore Events. From the very beginning, Kara and Bri felt like instant friends! We quickly hit it off on our first call, and they made a very large undertaking (planning a Virginia wedding from Texas) feel doable and fun. We ended up with an amazing welcome party at Montalto to kick off the weekend, and our dream wedding at Pippin Hill on a gorgeous November day, thanks to their hard work.
Kara and Bri really took the time to listen and understand our priorities and vision for our wedding. We told them that we wanted to give our guests a beautiful, fun weekend and make them feel welcomed, celebrated, and loved. Kara and Bri translated that feedback into a design plan that made our reception feel like a "warm, elegant hug" - and they totally delivered! On top of that, they gave us great advice on vendors and assembled an excellent vendor team. Every person that worked on our welcome party and wedding was incredibly talented AND very personable/kind, and we could tell they all knew Kara and Bri well and enjoyed working with them, which made our events go even more smoothly.
I highly recommend Amore Events. You get not just one, but TWO excellent planners. Kara and Bri are such wonderful people, and we are so happy with how everything turned out!

My second review for Amore after our second daughter's wedding!
I wrote a recommendation for Bri and Kara a month ago for my daughter's wedding that took place in Annapolis MD on 10/23/21. Fast forward one month to 11/27/21 when my second daughter got married at Pippin Hill in Charlottesville, VA! Trying to plan two weddings (which were also destination weddings since we are from the Philadelphia area) was extremely challenging and stressful. Well, thanks to the girls from Amore we pulled both off and were thrilled with the results of each one. This is a letter my husband wrote to Bri and Kara the day after this weekend's wedding.

"You guys are the best! Thank you both so much for making another great weekend for us. Tara & Mike’s wedding was perfect in every way. We cannot imagine changing one thing. You orchestrated a script that was amazing and exceeded all of our expectation. We are forever grateful.

These two really make planning your wedding so much less stressful. They are both very calm and a nice presence to be around which is exactly what you need when you're feeling nervous and not quite yourself. They were relaxed yet tenacious and completely in control. I really can't explain it! They are magical and know exactly what they're doing. When the day came we did not once have to think about anything. We were able to completely turn off our minds so we could be present. The day would not have been so special without them. Like I said, I cannot recommend them enough.

Amazing experience with Bri and Kara from Amore Events
My wedding was a dream, and I owe so much of that to Bri and Kara from Amore Events. My husband and I hired them for our wedding on 9/18/21, and from the very moment we did we felt their support. They are both such wonderful people, and so easy to get along with. We immediately felt comfortable with them able to tell them exactly what we were feeling. Our wedding was at Mount Ida Farm and Vineyard in Charlottesville, but we live in northern Virginia, so it was crucial to have people we could rely on since it was not so easy for us to go back and forth to Charlottesville. My husband and I were also both the first in our families to get married, so everything was new for all of us, and we felt so lucky that we had Bri and Kara there to help and guide us throughout the whole process. On top of all of that, I am a teacher who had to work long hours through COVID times, so wedding planning was often put on the back-burner. Thanks to Bri and Kara, we were still able to stay on task through it all. We felt secure throughout the entire planning process knowing that they had our backs; even when we were having a few concerns with another vendor, they stepped in to make sure things worked out how we had wanted.
The wedding day itself was more than I could've ever hoped for, and my husband and I have both said it was the best day of our lives. We both were able to be at ease on the day and really enjoy the moment, knowing that Bri and Kara had everything handled and knew exactly how we wanted the day to go and look like. I can't say enough wonderful things about this company and these two, and would 100% recommend them to anyone who is considering hiring them!

After researching planners for our wedding at Pippin Hill, I immediately knew Cody from Amore Events was 'the one' during our initial call. Not only was she incredibly detailed in her planning (which I loved!), she took an individualized approach to our wedding and made sure we (and our guests) always came first.
Cody knows everyone you need to know when it comes to weddings and was essential to recommending additional vendors for us. She provided great guidance and was never pushy, always leaving the final decision up to me. I was able to relax on my wedding day!
We hired Karen McGrath as our month-of coordinator and she was such a huge stress-reliever. I'm a naturally anxious person but felt SO much better after every call with Karen. She was able to help with so many last minute details, like providing table numbers, printing/framing our seating chart sign, and providing pens for our Jenga game "guestbook" when we realized we forgot to bring them. She was able to efficiently and effectively manage our timeline so we remained on schedule and handled the small hiccups that came with our wedding in a way so that I wasn't bothered.
The day of the wedding, I felt so calm and was just able to enjoy the day without stress and that is directly because Karen did such a good job handling everything so I didn't have to worry.

Amore Events Made The Wedding Of Our Dreams Come True!
It’s hard to even put into words how amazing Cody is but here it goes...
From the first time we spoke I knew she understood exactly the vision that we had for our wedding, and let me say that she figured it out without the most detailed information from me! I was pretty much the bride with photos of things that I liked and no idea how to bring them all together. Cody designed, planned and executed every last detail more perfectly than I could have ever imagined and I’m not just saying that! Every last detail was stunning and more perfect than I ever dreamed. Seriously, mic drop, PERFECT!
Not only did she hit the design out of the park but she was always in communication with me. There was never a time that I had to follow up with her on anything. She made the process of planning the most smooth and stress free experience of my life.
My husband and I don’t have enough words to express our gratitude for all that she did to make our wedding one that dreams are made of! Our day was perfect because of all of Cody and the Amore team’s hard work and we will forever be grateful for everything that she has done for us!

Absolute best wedding planner there is!
Hiring Cody was hands down one of the best decisions we could have made when planning our wedding. My mom and I talked with her early on when we were picking a wedding planner, and after our first conversation, we knew our search had ended. Cody is just incredible. She is so kind, so down-to-earth, so thoughtful, and absolutely phenomenal at what she does. She truly went above and beyond for us. She gave us the absolute best recommendations for vendors, she put together a detailed timeline and list of tasks that we accomplished together one by one, making what is usually a daunting process seem completely manageable and super fun. She gave incredible advice, and when it came down to making sure that our wedding felt personal and unique to us as a couple, she offered creative ideas that just spoke to how well she knew us - it seemed like we knew her a lot longer than just the year and a half leading up to our wedding! Some of my favorite details that were her idea included personalized cornhole boards, linen napkins at our head table with our initials on them that we got to take home and will treasure forever, and koozies with our venue and date illustrated. Our wedding was absolutely gorgeous, and so much of that was because of Cody's experience and suggestions. My mom and I miss her so much already - we had the most fun with her, and we cannot speak highly enough of her. She was the one who made our wedding day perfect. What's more, she made it so perfect that I actually was able to soak in every second and be completely in the moment the entire day. I don't know if I will ever stop smiling when I think about our wedding day - it felt like a fairy tale, thanks to Cody. You need Cody, even if you think you don't.
Cody was, hands down, the absolutely best decision we made when planning our wedding. From the first moment we spoke, I knew she was the woman for us. From day one and through the big day, she was there for me & us every step of the way– attentive, honest, insightful, sensitive to my budget, patient, responsive, and basically my best friend when it came to all things wedding. To be honest, when we first got engaged we didn't think we needed a planner– I'm good at planning things, how hard could it be? I definitely made the BEST call by going with Cody.
She is an absolute PRO, and knows how to to make everything you want happen. She knows all the vendors, what's feasible, and what works well. She knows everything there is to know about weddings, and there is no way we could have had the absolutely beautiful and seamless wedding we did without her direction through the year long process, and on the weekend of.
On the day of, it unexpectedly started raining (in June!), and before I could get upset and stress, Cody jumped into action and told me not to worry about a thing. Our ceremony turned out even more beautiful than I could have imagined.
Despite leading the planning, my fiancé also really appreciated how she rolled with the punches, and would find a way to make all of his crazy ideas fit into the big day.
Cody was worth every penny and more, and I could not recommend a single vendor more. She was not only incredible at her job (and a total boss) but really was there for us emotionally and as a friend as well. I can't even put into words how amazing she was to work with. This is the BEST advice I can give to any bride in the area: go with Cody.

Cody helped us plan a perfect wedding
My daughter's wedding was last weekend, and I am still lingering over how wonderful it was, all because of Cody. We enjoyed about 18 months of planning the event, with Cody's help, and I knew from the first call I placed to her, when looking for a wedding planner, that she was "the one." My daughter chided me a bit, saying we needed to talk to several, so I just asked her to call Cody too. After she talked with Cody she called me back, saying those words every Mom loves to hear, "Mom you're right." Cody was totally on top of everything...she knew which vendors would work best....she loved working with the venue we chose.....Cody was just so easy to work with. If either of us had a question, we'd email Cody and usually get a very prompt response. She was so fun at our design meeting, and the food tasting, we just very quickly became very good friends with her and I think the world of her. I knew Jessica's wedding was in the best hands. The day of the wedding Cody was there with us through all the preparation time, the photographs, the weather checks, the table setting, the flower arrangements.... she oversaw everything, and had terrific support staff too. I could go on and on. Cody truly cares about her brides and their families, and her only wish is to help give the bridal couple the most special day they can imagine. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this woman I came to depend on for so many months. I never once felt overwhelmed by the wedding planning because of her. She truly cares, and is the kindest, most talented planner out there. And - she's funny too! I miss her already, and wish we could do it all over again. Cody is the best. Trust me.

Outside of marrying each other, cody is the best wedding decision we made!
Cody is the best of the best. Her professionalism is unparalleled. Every thing in our wedding was so meticulously laid out from day one. She kept us up to date on all of our vendors, everything she was doing, what we needed to do and the time frame it needed to be done in, and laid out a design plan with updated visuals so we never questioned how everything was looking.
Because of her tenure, connections, and tireless work ethic she was able to give us our dream wedding while staying in budget. She saved us so much money while still giving us everything we wanted. Even up until the day of the wedding she was negotiating to make sure everything was above and beyond our expectations.
She even has her own inventory of items that added unique details to our wedding without having to find and purchase them ourselves.
Cody made the entire process enjoyable and stress free (well as much as possible, lets face it, you’re still dealing with family). I am naturally a very stressed out neurotic person and I was terrified how I was going to handle planning wedding. Cody stayed calm no matter what the situation and always reassured me that everything was going to be perfect, she even talked me through situations that were outside of planning (she should have billable hours as a wedding therapist). She makes you feel like you are her only client and top priority. My husband and I both felt like we were planning our wedding with a life long friend who cared about us like family. During our weekly calls she got to know us as individuals and as a couple and used that to design everything to our taste. She even surprised us with some of her own inventory items for our sweetheart table to make it extra special. It was so thoughtful and heartwarming and just shows you how much she cares.
It has been a month since our wedding and we still have relatives and friends calling ad telling us it was the best wedding they have been to. They noticed every detail and all the hard work and it is all thanks to Cody and her amazing vision. She is so detail oriented, but her whole heart goes behind each of those details.
I can go on and on but its better if you just see for yourself, so do the best thing for your wedding and CALL HER!!

I was BLOWN away by Cody! She was recommended to me by the event planner at Pippin Hill and I could not be MORE satisfied with her services. I plan corporate events at a hedge fund in NYC and have very high standards/can be a bit particular. Cody knew exactly what I wanted and gave me EXACTLY what I envisioned. All my friends who got married told me to prepare for something to go wrong on my wedding day and honestly, it was absolutely flawless. Best In The Business: Exquisite Taste, Artistic, Incredibly Organized, & Thoughtful
Our wedding was gorgeous, and it's because Cody is a creative leader with the patience of a saint and the professional tact of a Fortune 500 executive. If her 500+ perfect reviews haven't convinced you of her skill, then you should know that I had to change my original venue 60 days out and Cody magically took my heaping mess and transformed it into the best day of my and my husband's lives. We held our ceremony at the UVA Chapel and then hosted our reception at Common House on the mall. Cody planned the first-ever wedding at Common House, leading not only her own staff, but also working seamlessly with the venue's entire staff + my external vendors to ensure everything from music to flowers to food to drink to toasts and so much more were amazing.
I can't put into words how incredibly amazing and hardworking Cody is. She went above and beyond thinking of details I couldn't even begin to forecast, making our wedding absolutely beautiful, personal, and unique. This woman recreated Kate Middleton's bouquet for me, which required flying flowers in from freaking Europe. She even coordinated our sword arch the day-of as a last minute request. Her timelines are a detailed work of art, and she handles coordinating with staff and vendors, ensuring everyone is exactly where they need to be at the perfect moment.
Of all the expenses involved in a wedding, I would say Cody's services are the most imperative. I promise it will be the best decision you make. And just as a side note–she and her family are good people, and I feel honored to have gotten to know and work with her. Ooorah.

Hiring Cody and her team was the BEST decision ever!
It's taken way too long to share our experience with Cody and her team...the wedding craziness ended but you know, life! It's nearly impossible to put into words how happy and grateful we are to have worked with Cody and her team for our special day.
Throughout our time planning she made sure our vision and voices were heard, down to every last detail. There's a reason they call her the Pippin guru - she really knows every single inch of that place! She's also such a sweet and caring person, and genuinely wants each of her brides to have the day of her dreams. I know she was swamped at times but she always made a point to answer my questions quickly and reassure any concerns.
All you can hope for on your wedding day is to feel relaxed, happy and enjoy every second, and we could all do so (families and bridal parties included) knowing she had everything covered. I truly had the A-team for vendors, all around! I'm pretty positive the entire day went perfectly, but if anything was off we had no idea. The only problem was it flew by even faster than everyone warned!
A HUGE thank you to her entire team (special shout out to Morgan, my personal bridal attendant) for making it the most perfect day!

Karen at Amore is my FAVORITE!
Karen McGrath at Amore Events served as our day-of coordinator. She was positively flawless and we couldn't have done it without her! She really took the reins about a month before the wedding. We had weekly calls, and it felt weird at first to surrender control over some of the vendor relationships and things, but it was a real joy to not have to worry about the small details. She also helped us in a pinch when we couldn't find bus vendors because so many were booked up. She was great at getting us through rehearsal with as little stress as possible, and helped us think about all the details we might have missed. On the day of our wedding, she seemed to be both everywhere and nowhere - she and her team of assistants were taking care of everything seamlessly without feeling like they were underfoot. There was a minor medical emergency with one of our guests - and Karen made sure there wasn't a big production stopping the whole reception. At the end of the night, everything that needed to be packed up and returned with us was neatly prepared and put into my mom's car. She even worked with our friends who were serving as our "vendors" for things like flowers, decorations and our Master of Ceremonies. We absolutely couldn't have done it without her.

Best Decision Ever (minus my husband!)
Two words of advice: HIRE CODY. This was the best decision my family and I made. I got married the week of Hurricane Florence. What should've been a stressful and hard week for me leading up was the opposite. Cody called/texted me everyday to ensure I was excited and to know everything was fine. Not only did she ease the nerves of myself and my family but she eased the nerves of even the guest. Cody made sure every vendor was aware that the wedding was happening and personally called every vendor to ensure they would be there.
Cody also had WEEKLY calls a year up to the wedding. With a huge family like mine that was amazing - my mom was able to be completely involved and loved being able to ask questions. Many brides think the process is very stressful, i love every part of my process thanks to Cody. If you are a bride that is not sure about the vendors she wants, trust Cody. I used every vendor Cody suggested and they were all amazing to work with.
You will without a doubt be missing out if you do not hire Cody. Cody - thank you for being the best decision we made throughout the wedding process!

Cody is seriously THE BEST! After seeing my sister plan her own wedding I knew I was going to hire a planner for my big day. Cody was so much more than just a wedding planner. She became a friend, a cheerleader, even a therapist haha. The wedding planner of your dreams
If you are looking for an impeccable wedding planner, look no further. Cody was absolutely fantastic in every way possible. I remember the day we hired her, my mom called me and said, "I found your planner - there's no need to speak to anyone else, we must go with Cody." Right off the bat, my mom and I could tell that Cody knew what she was doing. Over the next 10 months leading up to the wedding, Cody made me feel as if I were her only bride. She is extremely attentive, organized, and detail oriented. She answered calls, texts, and emails immediately no matter the time of day. Cody was reassuring but honest throughout the whole process. She has amazing relationships with vendors in the area and connected us with the most amazing team. Cody gets the job done - she is 100% on your team throughout it all. With any hiccup or potentially difficult decision that came my way, Cody guided me through it with grace. As an added bonus, Cody has unbelievable taste and she helped me design every last detail of my dream wedding. I trusted her completely to guide me through every big and little decision when it came to design.
Then, there was the wedding day itself! Just when I thought Cody couldn't get any better, she blew me away on our wedding day. She was unbelievably calm which made me feel so calm. While I was hanging with my girls and enjoying the morning of our wedding day, Cody flawlessly handled everything behind the scenes. Everything ran like a dream. Like all weddings, we had a few moments where problem-solving was necessary. I had no idea when any of these moments occurred because Cody handled them so beautifully.

I truly do not know where to start in describing how incredible Cody is. She is the most passionate person about her job and her brides. While knowing all along I was, of course, not Cody’s only bride, she ALWAYS made me feel as though I was. We spoke weekly for 1.5 years leading up to the wedding, and I can honestly say I looked forward to those calls not just because she is a BOSS at getting things done/keeping me on schedule, but she is truly a delight to chat with. There are too many good things to say about Cody, I don't even know where to start. I found Cody a year ago through her incredible reviews on WeddingWire. Cody was available to chat immediately when I reached out. She took her time to explain her services, answer my questions, and was honest with me about what to expect in the wedding planning process including all expenses to expect for our chosen wedding venue. After that, Cody poured her heart into the year long wedding planning process. She set up conference calls every single week to answer questions, and keep me on track with various tasks. When I was little, I was (literally), obsessed with that JLo movie: “The Wedding Planner” - needless to say my expectation was that planning my own wedding would be a piece of CAKE - when, in reality, one month into planning - it was quickly becoming a bad remake of the movie: “Bridesmaids”. This review is way way overdue- a year overdue to be exact! From the moment we hired Karen, she was absolutely amazing. She really went above and beyond throughout the entire process. Our wedding planning process was very stressful, we had to find a new venue 3 months before the wedding due to a family tragedy that happened at the home where we were planning to host our wedding. As we got close to the wedding date, she had weekly check in meetings to make sure we were on track and make herself available for any questions or concerns we had. Cody of Amore Events was the day-of wedding coordinator for our daughter's wedding at King Family Vineyards in February 2018. We are so VERY grateful for Cody and her team! She was wonderful to work with and was helpful with great suggestions leading up to the wedding. All of the vendors that she recommended were amazing and worked so well with her team. Our daughter had two young ladies assigned to her the moment she arrived at the vineyard and they took great care of ensuring she had everything she needed. Cody also provided a wonderful team to pack everything up at the end of the evening - and we brought a lot with us, including linens from the DC area! Our cars were packed and ready to go which was perfect after such a long, happy day.
Cody has an incredible eye for design and worked so hard to implement all the details of the day perfectly. Her timeline and planning documents were meticulous culminating in a beautifully seamless evening. I had complete confidence knowing that Cody would take care of everything. We were able to relax and enjoy the most amazing day in our daughter's life with our friends and family!!

Cody is truly the best. There's simply no other way to put it. She is kind, calming and detail-oriented all things that make for a fabulous partner in planning such an important event! I worked with her over the past year on my March wedding at Pippin Hill and she lived up to her (fabulous) reputation in every way.
I worked with Cody on a "Day Of" package but she went ABOVE AND BEYOND for me and was there for questions and calls throughout the entire process. I was able to gut-check my choices along the way and get some expert insight on ideas for our big day. One of the things I treasured most about Cody is that she was honest and truly made me feel like her feedback and suggestions were coming from a place of wanting the best for my husband-to-be and I, not in any way trying to sell me on things we didn't want or that didn't make sense for us.
The other truly important and wonderful thing about Cody is how she and her team were on top of everything on the day of. Not only did I feel taken care of but my mother, my mother in law also truly felt special, taken care of and had a day without stress.
My husband and I planned our wedding new to the Charlottesville/Richmond area and truly couldn't have had the day of our dreams without Cody and her team.

Our wedding was magical because of Cody and her team. She really is the total package in a wedding planner. An elegant visionary, I trusted her completely to create the look and feel for our wedding. I had a vague idea of what I wanted, but couldn't articulate specifics beyond "classic" and "wintry." Cody’s design was more beautiful than I ever imagined. It was perfectly tailored to my taste - subtle and classic with a hint of glam. She had original ideas that translated into a cohesive concept suited to the venue. Some of my favorite elements were gold lanterns filled with candles, hemstitch napkins and a stunning family photo board covered in climbing greenery, all her concepts. She designed all of my flowers - bouquets, boutonnieres AND arrangements! They were works of art. A perfect blend of texture and color for an organic shape that highlighted winter. If you're not sure how to articulate your design vision, let Cody guide you. Even if you are sure, let her guide you! She has so much expertise and vision, aesthetically and logistically. Trust her and you will not be disappointed. Cody is intuitive. She knew when I was worried. She is reassuring and solution-oriented. When I saw obstacle, she saw possibility. She is quick to mitigate problems. It snowed on our wedding day, which created bad driving conditions. I was worried vendors wouldn't be able to show, but Cody offered to pick them up in her 4-wheel drive vehicle if needed. I was very impressed with her day-of staff. We had multiple locations, but everything ran smoothly. There were even 2 attendants dedicated to bride and wedding party! This allowed me to enjoy the moment rather than worrying about logistics. They coordinated all of the "people herding," vendor communication and setup. It was so nice! All were professional, sweet and eager to assist. Because of Cody, I will cherish my wedding day as a happy, beautiful, sacred moment free of stress and complication. She made my wedding dreams come true.

I could not have been more lucky to have Cody as my planner! I was working a job that required me to be on site 12+ hours a day and was planning my wedding from an entirely different state. She kept me on track, made it simple, and put me in touch with the very best vendors in Charlottesville. I didn't have time to waste but also didn't want to sacrifice on quality. Whether your budget is large or small, she can make your dream come true. She was efficient, honest, and incredibly organized. I honestly can't say enough about how much I adore her! I've had countless guests me tell me that my wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to. And on the day of the wedding, both Cody and her staff made me feel so special. All I had to do was show up and enjoy the best day of my life! My advice: Don't consider anyone else...and TRUST her. Cody and the Amore events team are nothing short of AMAZING. From the first time I spoke with Cody over the phone I knew she was the planner for me. Cody has a way of making you feel at ease when talking to her and I just felt in my gut before I even met her that she could be trusted with every detail.
Cody was easy to get in touch with and quick to respond, I felt like she was more of a friend than a wedding planner during this process. She is relatable, yet professional, and she knows how to diffuse situations and stick up for the bride while respecting everyone else involved in the planning process.
Cody has incredible taste in wedding design and planning, but the thing I loved most about her is that she listened to me and got to know what was important to me. Cody really studied what I liked and disliked and ensured every aspect of our wedding was tailored to my husband and I. For example, Cody knew that having a Christ centered wedding was important to us and she recommended using an olive leaf as an accent to our place settings because of its meaning in the Christian faith. This is something I had not even thought of, but Cody took the time to look into small details that would help reflect us as a couple.
Cody also has tons of connections and recommendations for other vendors, which was incredibly helpful! She helped us find amazing vendors within our budget and worked with them so I didn't have to worry about orchestrating everyone. Planning a wedding is a lot of work and I can't imagine having done it without her. I won't say there was no stress, but I can tell you that Cody made wedding planning a breeze and I was able to fully enjoy and be present on my wedding day knowing that Cody was on my side and that she had everything under control. I 10/10 recommend choosing Cody and the Amore Events Team for your wedding, you won't regret it!

I truly have no words to describe just how much I love and respect Cody as a professional and as a person. Hiring her was without a doubt the best decision I made during my planning process. I am that woman who has been planning her wedding since she was born. I am a perfectionist, I have crazy ambitions/requests/ideas, I was an out of town Bride, I am incredibly opinionated and had a very distinct vision/brand I wanted to portray, and within minutes of speaking to her on the phone, I just knew SHE GOT ME. We were 1000000% on the same page, she understood my vision, opened my eyes and mind to new options/ideas and delivered the most extravagant, perfect, fairy tale wedding. It was a production, and she executed flawlessly. Cody went above and beyond her scope of work, and became my best friend, my therapist, my mentor, my creative genius and my dream maker all in one. I met with/spoke with a ton of planners, researched, looked at all reviews and knew what I was looking for, and within minutes, I knew she was who I wanted. I will never forget seeing a previous review on her page that said "stop what you're doing right now and hire Cody immediately".... well, those words have never rung so true. She is a genius and an absolute delight to work with. She made my INSANE dream come true! She is the best out there. I could not begin to say enough about the positive experience we had in having Cody with Amore Events as our wedding planner. My daughter, the bride, is a busy medical resident who lives in Charlottesville. I live out of town, and although I love to plan parties, I had no idea of any of the vendors in Charlottesville, and was not at all familiar with the city. I was making blind calls to caterers, hotels, etc. when it became clear we needed a wedding planner. Cody was the person I was consistently referred to by various sources. She seemed to be everyone's favorite. After working with her I know why! She's kind, funny, fun, creative, relaxed, intuitive, informative, resourceful, accountable, responsible, respectful,accessible, and caring. She listens to what your dream is, helps you solidify your vision, then works the miracle of putting it together to become a reality beyond your expectations. She does all of this and makes it happen within your budget!!! Wedding planning can get anxiety provoking and she is an expert at calming nerves, knowing how to prioritize, delegate and put things in perspective. She chose the perfect vendors for us, matching not just tastes and styles, but personalities and price points as well. She assembled a team that was a pleasure to work with. The vendors she selected for us clearly love what they do and pridefully demonstrated their investment in making the wedding an amazing experience for all of us. She negotiated with the vendors and communicated our wishes to expedite and simplify things on our end. Cody coordinated everything making sure we booked key people and places early on. She kept a timeline where selections kept building on the plan until the magical wedding day. On the wedding day, she guided us through each step as the orchestrated events unfolding flawlessly. Working with Karen McGrath from Amore Events was the best decision we made during the entire planning process. We decided upon a partial planning package and she worked with us to choose the best vendors, ease our worries, answer etiquette questions, and just plain support us throughout the seven months of our engagement. She is professional, responsive, organized, and so sweet. Karen made us feel like old friends. It was clear that she genuinely cared about us and helping us realize our vision. The wedding was truly stunning because of her. I can't say enough about how Karen and her two assistants (Beth and Laura) ran our wedding day. They made it seem so seamless and if there were any issues, they handled them. It was the most stress free and incredible day. We had so many compliments from our guests about the wedding from start to finish. We loved working with Karen and her team and we will miss our weekly calls now that this is over. She is the absolute best!

5 stars easily!!!!! My daughter recently got married at King Family vineyards 2 weeks ago and Cody and her AMAZING staff honestly created a wedding BEYOND our expectations! I actually cried when I saw everything - my daughters dream came true! She was highly recommended to us and I was not sure of having a wedding planner but I certainly eat my words! She is NOT just any wedding planner - she is the BEST!!!!! She not only executed the MOST beautiful wedding I and so many have ever seen but she was very concerned about keeping us on budget! She respected our decisions but was also the voice of reasoning. We realized we were dealing with a true professional and TRUSTED her with EVERYTHING!!!!!! I could go on and on but I must mention to truly see how well someone does their job is under adversity. The day of the wedding was the same day as all the unfortunate events that happened in Charlottesville regarding the riot. In addition, she was also dealing with the threat of rain at the same time my daughter was to walk down the aisle outside. She NEVER led us to believe there were concerns - guests were able to get on buses from downtown and she was in constant communication. She let us enjoy the pre wedding build up without bothering us with any of this. Looking back I truly do not know how she did this but we will are forever grateful!!!!!!!

Over a year before our wedding I sent her inspiration I had seen online & from that moment on she sent me emails/photos of ideas & new decor she had added to her inventory just with my vision & our wedding in mind (like I said- she did everything & more). On our wedding day when I arrived at the venue setup was already finished & I had to fight back tears of joy when I saw the beautiful work Cody & her team had done to bring everything together. It was perfect. Her eye for design is unmatched- she went above & beyond as a planner & as a friend to give me a dream come true wedding. Cody also did all of the florals for our day and they were absolutely gorgeous! I could go on and on about how much I loved them….I even had a centerpiece transferred into a bowl at the end of the night so that I could take it with me & love it all week long. My boyfriend (now husband!) and I attended a wedding that Cody planned about six months before we got engaged. The wedding was so stunning that right after we got engaged, I contacted Cody. There is something incredibly intangible about Cody’s weddings, and after seeing it first-hand, I knew I wanted to work with her!
Cody only suggests vendors who will be invested in your day, meaning these people are going to care about you and will go above and beyond to make you happy. The best part about booking vendors while working with Cody? The vendors LOVE to work with Cody’s brides! Cody ensures the entire day is organized and seamless, making the vendors’ jobs SO much easier. Several vendors offered discounts just to work with us since Cody was planning our day. Another great reason to hire Cody is her vision and design ability. She is SO talented and made our wedding day absolutely stunning. I can’t tell you how many compliments I received on the details that Cody had planned.
Lastly I need to mention how valuable she is on the day of your wedding. The day of our wedding, the weather looked clear. Around 4pm Cody told me she had just received a warning that a severe thunderstorm was blowing in. Our outdoor ceremony was already set-up (150 chairs, an aisle full of white rose petals, greenery in place, wooden signs) and there was less than an hour to move everything inside UPSTAIRS. If Cody hadn’t called the rain plan, our guests would have been soaked and hit by lightning. Our entire day would have been RUINED if she wasn’t there. Cody had transformed the empty loft space into an intimate ceremony. It was perfect, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I mean, what bride honestly says that their rain plan was better than their original plan? It was all because of Cody!

Without question, apart from picking my husband, picking Cody was the best wedding decision I made. She is way more than just a wedding planner. She is a friend and confidante throughout the process and your biggest advocate. Any problem, big or small, any day of the week and she was there. Cody was not the only wedding planner I spoke with, but within the first minute of speaking to her I knew she was the best. She was straight forward and honest, and incredibly bubbly and warm. She was amazing at helping determine where costs should and should NOT be spent. She went above and beyond and exceeded my every expectation. Cody was the absolute best part of my wedding, and hiring her was the best decision I made during the planning process. HIRE HER, and do it IMMEDIATELY. We got engaged on a Saturday and hired Cody on Thursday, and she was there with us every step of the way for the next 14 months.
QUALITY: Cody is an amazing planner, and more importantly, an amazing person. She truly cares about each of her couples and goes above and beyond in every way to make your wedding a special and unique event. Each conversation, interaction, and idea came across as so genuine, so unique, and so "us." I have already referred other brides to her, and rave about her every chance I get. Cody helped carve out roles for my fiance to be involved in the planning process (he called her a "demi-god") and helped narrow down the field of possible decisions whenever I felt overwhelmed. She was, simply, a life-saver.
RESPONSIVENESS/PROFESSIONALISM: Cody is SO on top of things. She has an incredible wealth of planning resources--a checklist that covers everything you'll need to do throughout the planning process, detailed timelines, budget spreadsheet, and more. I showed her resources to a few friends and they were in awe! And she is there every step of the way, answering calls, texts, and emails. We had weekly calls closer to the wedding which was a huge time and life-saver for me. The caterer we wanted was not the most responsive, and Cody happily took on the job of managing her. Anytime I had a question or concern, she handled it immediately.
VALUE: For those of you worried about cost, Cody easily paid for herself. Not only did she help us get vendor discounts, she knows all the great "steals" in Charlottesville and vendors bend over backwards to work with her because of her amazing reputation. I loved our entire team, and Cody is 100% to thank for helping us select and book them all.

Cody was absolutely fantastic and we couldn't be more pleased with how incredible our wedding at Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards turned out! From our first planning phone call to our sparkler farewell send off, she was AMAZING. Hiring Cody was the best decision we made for our wedding.
We booked our venue about 18 months out from the wedding date, and hired Cody shortly thereafter. After our first planning meeting, Cody took the reins and guided us through all of the decisions (trust us there are even more than you can imagine). Her experience with our venue and with wedding planning in general showed immediately. Most importantly, Cody guided us in curating our wedding dream team- from photographer, to florist, to cake baker, and more. Her recommendations on vendors that suited our style proved to be a critical piece in the wedding planning process and she did not disappoint! We set a budget and she stuck to it. She will tell where you can save or where you need to splurge based on the wedding that you want to have. She pays attention to details big and small, and knows how to curate those details beautifully no matter what your style is. When we were nervous or anxious she was on the phone to calm us down. During the big day, she and her team handled everything, if there were any issues, it never came to our attention because Cody had it covered. Our only job was to say our I do's, eat some cake, and dance the night away.
If you're looking for the prim and proper wedding planner type from the movies, you may be disappointed, but honestly that was one of the things we liked most about Cody. She knows the business, Charlottesville, and all the vendors, and above all she forms a friendship with you and is truly there to support you along the wedding journey.
We highly recommend Amore Events by Cody to any couple who is getting married in the Charlottesville area!

We worked with Karen McGrath of Amore Events to plan our daughter's wedding. She was responsive, creative, respectful of our budget, and helped us to pull off a wonderful wedding and reception, on a rainy May weekend. She was unflappable, proactive, and on top of it. Where to even begin? When I first started the wedding planning process, I considered the value of obtaining a wedding planner. Our budget was pretty tight, especially for the Charlottesville area, and I went back and forth on if it was worth the cost. From my first conversation with Cody, I knew there was no other way to do this, except with her by my side. IT WAS THE BEST WEDDING PLANNING DECISION I could have ever made!!! Worth her weight in gold, extraordinarily kind, professional, and caring, she is the best of the best. Honestly, I do not have any other experience with wedding planners, but I cannot imagine working with anyone else. From day one, Cody was completely on top of it (she was hired as a full planner) and presented her recommendations and ideas in a completely organized, and stress-free way (I tend to get stressed out with anything that involves planning). She was completely down to earth, and available whenever we needed her. If we would have paid her by the hour, she would have been worth 10X her cost. She was extremely aware of our constrained budget, and never at any point made us feel like we were getting anything but the best. And we did. A little over a week since our wedding, and I still daydream about the most perfect day. Seeming flawless, and off without a hitch (even though it poured all day). She made all my dreams come true, and every single guest mentioned what a beautiful wedding, with personalized touches. It was extraordinary to me that even though this is Cody's profession, every single detail felt very personal to my husband and me. I cannot say enough how much I adore this human! She is the best, and I promise if you go with her it will be the best wedding planning decision you have ever made!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Cody and the entire Amore Events team exceeded my expectations in every way possible. My husband and I originally hired Cody as a day of coordinator for our wedding at Early Mountain Vineyards, but she became so much more. When our caterer went bankrupt 3 months before the wedding, Cody stepped in and contacted a great local caterer to step in and take over, the food and service turned out amazing! Also, when our florist became ill 3 weeks before our wedding, Cody took on the entire floral responsibility and created the wedding of my dreams! I was brought to tears when I first stepped into the reception hall. When I say hiring Cody was the best decision I made, it's an understatement. She kept me calm and collected throughout a very stressful planning process, she's one of the most talented women I've ever met and she was always quick to respond. My husband, my parents and especially me are truly going to miss having Cody I'm our lives. We can't thank her enough for everything she did.

Cody is a phenom. Our wedding turned out to be a spectacular event that was exceptionally well executed, and we credit Cody with pulling it off.
She was very generous with her time, cared enough to take the time to get to know us, and encouraged us to make our wedding extra personal and special. She helped us out in so many ways, from finding/coordinating decorative materials to helping manage family relationships. We came to think of Cody as a friend, not a contractor.
Her vendor recommendations were spot-on, and she did a great job managing our team of vendors, always putting our interests first.

Cody is hands down the best in the business. Before I even met her, I had heard so many great things from vendors and friends that I knew we have a would have a connection. Even though my wedding was somewhat non-conventional, she was flexible throughout the whole process. From the beginning, she was both organized and creative, acting both like a sounding board to my thoughts as well as contributing with her own ideas as needed, giving both enough space and structure for my wedding to turn out exactly how I had envisioned it. Even more important, she was calm and collected at all times, assuaging what could otherwise be a stressful situation. Her support was especially critical in the final weeks of the wedding, up to literally holding my hand in the moments before walking down the aisle. She was fantastic with all the vendors, and her assistants were so sweet and kind to the both the guests and the bridal party. Even through last minute changes, Cody was graceful and professional, and got the job done. She went above and beyond and for that I am forever grateful!
Our guests said our wedding was one of the best they'd ever experienced. I cannot say enough positive things about Cody and her team, and highly recommend her to any bride planning their big day. I wish I could do it all over again with Cody!

Cody is extremely organized. During our first phone call she gathered information of our wants and desires for our wedding. Within 48 hours she had sent us vendors, venues, ideas, and a wedding timeline. Cody calmed us down by showing us what decisions needed to be made, and when.
Cody is warm, and has A HUGE HEART. She knew when to make us laugh, when to help us prioritize, and when we just needed hug. She didn't treat us like clients in a typical way. She went above and beyond to meet our needs. She made sure throughout the process it was the wedding WE wanted.
Cody is prompt and professional. It didn't take us long to realize that every vendor we worked with, LOVED Cody just as much as we did. She's never late, and always proactive. To have a mediator between us and other vendors was crucial, it saved us time and stress knowing she was keeping everyone on the same page.
Cody is an artist. Her attention to detail made the decor part of the process so fun. She created a vision board for us to see what our wedding day would look like. When I saw our vision come to life on our wedding day, it honestly took my breath away. Cody made it all happen.
Cody is willing to work with your budget. Hesitant to have a wedding planner because of cost? This is exactly why you need her. She knows how to strategize on where wedding money is best spent. Quite frankly now that our wedding is over, a wedding planner was the most key financial decision we made.
Cody has a strong team. She provides enough assistants day of to make sure everything is running smoothly and ON TIME. At the end of the night her assistant Juan ran the rest of the event, and he continued to stay on track with Cody's timeline.
Cody is more than a wedding planner to us, she became a dear friend. Reading you may think, "this sounds too good to be true," but that's the level of expertise you will receive with Cody!!!!!

I don't even know where to begin. Cody is simply amazing! If you are even remotely considering hiring a wedding planner, stop right here, because she is THE BEST!! We were trying to plan a wedding in a short amount of time during a very busy time for us. As we started looking into venues, caterers etc., we quickly became overwhelmed & realized that 6-8 months was a fairly short time frame to plan a wedding! We knew we needed help.. The moment we found Amore Events by Cody, we knew she was the perfect fit for us. She had a long list of glowing reviews, & the pictures of her previous weddings were absolutely stunning. We were a little nervous at first out of fear that our budget was too small. We decided to reach out to get more information. Cody replied extremely quickly with a warm, welcoming email & info. We decided to choose the full planning package, & I'm so glad we did!
Within days, we spoke with Cody by phone. She built a detailed spreadsheet, reviewed budget & breakdown, recommended vendors & emailed them, booked hotel blocks & so much more! . You could tell from this first conversation that she was passionate about us as people above anything else. By the end of our conversation our wedding was practically planned, and we immediately felt excitement instead of stress.
We decided to completely trust Cody's recommendations & knew that our wedding would be perfect, and it was beyond anything we could have ever imagined. We really had no idea what our vision was, but Cody truly got to know us and made our wedding exactly what we wanted without us even having to tell her! She was always there, whatever we needed. All of our vendors were excellent. Every little detail of our wedding was taken care of, well thought out & stunning! Cody is so down-to-earth, responsive, and totally on point with 'day of' details. From the early planning all the way through to the last guest leaving the venue, she was truly invaluable. She thought of everything (even things I hadn't a clue that needed to be considered) and came up with suggestions to make the day even more special and memorable for our guests. Her knowledge of and excellent working relationships with other vendors was critical to the event's success. I never thought a food truck for donuts and hot chocolate at the end of the evening would be such a smash hit! I love Cody and will truly, honestly miss our frequent interaction now that my daughter's wedding is a blissful memory.

USE AMORE EVENTS!! If you are looking for a wedding planner, or even if you're not, just use Amore Events. I really don't know where to start with this review, but without a doubt Cody and every single one of her associates/employees made my wedding amazing. I live in Florida, and was planning a wedding at Veritas Vineyards. To start with, during the planning phase Cody really, really kept me organized and on track, and aware of all the little details I needed to be thinking about. Once decisions were made Cody took care of literally everything, and has an arsenal of amazing vendors that took care of everything. For everything I need a vendor for (flowers, hair, makeup, lighting, violinist...etc) Cody gave me a list of suggestions, I picked one, and they all turned out to be so amazing, professional, prompt, and they all did just an amazing job. The day of the wedding Cody and her crew really did take of everything. I got ready with my bridesmaids, took my photos, had the beautiful ceremony, and then had the most fun and beautiful reception (I'm a little biased), and worried about nothing. Cody answered any all questions I ever had so quickly and helpfully, helped handle the family dynamic that can't help but get a little crazy about wedding planning, and really just put together my dream wedding- which I really think is so amazing considering we were discussing things long distance, had never met, and I wasn't entirely sure when planning started what I was going for. She is beyond talented, and on top of that is so well organized and connected with venues and vendors it really made planning fun and exciting. On top of all of that, she really is a joy to talk with and be around. Wedding planning is not always fun and cheery, and Cody really helped make those tough/annoying topics fun and manageable. I cannot say enough about Cody and her staff. They made my wedding day everything I wanted it to be, and completely stress-free!

A Groom's review:
I could not be more pleased with my experience with Cody and Amore Events! There's no way we would have been able to accomplish was we did in terms of executing not only a wedding that my wife and I thought was perfect, but that our guests continue to rave about months later as being so unique, romantic and exceptionally fun.
Early Stages: Cody did an amazing job of listening to and interpreting our vision as well as building upon those requests and ideas by pulling from her years of experience and providing suggestions that we would never have thought of ourselves, including both big concept ideas as well as little touches that we would have overlooked.
General Planning Logistics: Cody kept us organized and informed on the extensive amount of logistics that go into planning a wedding. She helped keep us calm and relatively stress free (a little stress is unavoidable) throughout the entire process and on the day of the wedding we were able to just enjoy the events with each other, our family and friends while knowing that Cody and her team had everything under control. As the Bride and Groom we got to actually enjoy and remember all of our wedding rather then stress about the execution of the day and our guests. Based on comments from our friends, this is definitely not the case for all Brides and Grooms so this aspect that Cody provided was invaluable.
Vendor Recommendations: Cody provided multiple vendor recommendations for all of the various vendors we used. We were so pleased with each one we selected and when we have some detailed back and forth with certain vendors to ensure we were getting what we wanted or needed, Cody was instrumental in helping secure those needs.
Flowers & Decor:
Cody excelled at everything she did, but the Flowers and Decor is where she exceeded our already high expectations. While working within our budget, Cody just blew us away with how amazing everything looked!!! She's a rock star!!

There are not enough superlatives for Amore Events by Cody. Cody is warm, professional, incredibly organized, and really listens. She completely personalizes the event for the couple involved. She is calming and capable. While the idea of a "day-of" planner might seem appealing at first, trust me when I say it is worth it to purchase a package with Cody. My wedding planning was stress-free knowing that Cody was on-top of everything from budget, contracts, vendor relations, etc. Cody's years of experience play a huge role in her expert advice, money-saving tips, and efficiency. Planning a wedding can be very stressful, and I didn't even know where to start. Cody guides you through the entire process step by step and helps you stay organized and on the right time line for your wedding. I had a difficult time expressing the exact look and 'vibe' that I wanted for the wedding, and I was worried that I wasn't communicating my ideas well enough, but Cody could see into my vision and analyze my inspiration boards and created the perfect fairytale scenery for my wedding.
I truly can't describe how amazing it was working with her. She responds quickly, always has an answer and is constantly on top of things. My husband and I work long hours so she accommodated our schedules by emailing at night and having early weekly conference calls with us.
The entire wedding process from the moment we hired her to even still now, two weeks after the wedding has been completely flawless. I never worried, and was completely stress free on the day of - she even came by our home the morning of the wedding despite the millions of things she had to do that day.
Cody has a positive, energetic and radiant personality and helped me through the emotional rollercoaster that is wedding planning! I wouldn't have traded my experience for the world - I loved all of my vendors and she made sure that my big day absolutely perfect.

The best decision I made was hiring Cody has my wedding planner. She went above and beyond for me and my husband and was the reason our wedding turned out so perfect. I was planning my wedding from across the country and Cody made it such an enjoyable process. All the vendors she recommended ended up being amazing. They all love her so much as well that, they even went above and beyond for me because Cody was my wedding planner. The day of my wedding Cody had added a few little surprises and special touches just to make my day that much more special. Our weekly calls were the highlight of my week and she made me feel like I was the only bride she was working with even though I knew how busy she was. My husband is a very detailed oriented person, very particular and very budget conscious and on the day of the wedding he said to me that this day couldn't be more perfect and Cody exceeded his expectations and couldn't be happier. I had 4 friends get married the year prior to our wedding and they all had wedding planners and not one experience the service I did. Amore Events did all of the flowers for our wedding as well and created the most beautiful hanging floral and greenery arrangement over our head table. I would give Cody 10 stars out of 5 if I could.
I had no idea what to expect when my bride and I first got on a call with Cody, but it was quickly apparent that Cody was much more interested in us as people than as “just another client.” We laughed, we goofed, and we felt right at home with Cody _from the very first call_.
Throughout the planning process, my now wife and I looked forward to our weekly (video!) calls we had with Cody. We had only vague notions of what we wanted for our big day, and Cody patiently listened, asked questions, and just got it. For example, she understood right away that we are not the kind of people who like big, fancy, ornate decorations, so everything from our table designs to lighting was understated and elegant. This was very different than another wedding of hers we had seen where the couple wanted fancy crystal chandeliers and large centerpieces on each table. Both were stunning, but for very different personalities.
I loved that during our calls, Cody routinely asked “How are you doing? How are you feeling about the whole thing?” Her consistent reassurance and support that everything would be awesome was invaluable, from right after our engagement all the way through to now (several days after the wedding). There was nothing I felt I couldn’t ask or discuss with Cody, and there wasn’t a single time where an email or call of mine wasn’t returned within a reasonable amount of time, if not immediately (obviously when she’s running other weddings during the weekend she’s not immediately available).
Another major influencing factor Cody had was on our vendor selection. Cody has a ton of experience with so many different vendors throughout Charlottesville and knows which ones are the cream of the crop. She also knows where she can work with those vendors to get you discounts or extra services for the same price. From the moment my mom and I met Cody a year ago, we were sold on her warm demeanor, impeccable taste and obvious passion for her brides. Throughout the year of planning a destination wedding, she continually made it top priority to keep us on track with bookings and budget while showcasing her knowledge and understanding of the Charlottesville area and its vendors. Once she knew what was important to us, she immediately secured the most in-demand (and nicest) people for videography, photography, makeup/hair etc. so we felt confident from day 1! From day 1, Cody has been more than a wedding planner to us. She has been a dear friend and even at times a therapist, making herself available if we needed to talk about anything 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – which was a huge undertaking as we had a long, 18 month, engagement. Every step of the way, Cody was there, helping turn our dream wedding into a reality. She gave great advice on how to stay within our budget and pointed us in the right direction for all things “wedding”. Throughout our planning process, I was working full-time and also a part-time MBA student which made planning a wedding in Charlottesville from Dallas very difficult at times as we weren’t able to visit much before the wedding. Even though we had been to King Family Vineyards several times during our college years as undergraduates at UVA, we never had a chance to step foot inside the carriage house until the month of our wedding – which is was very worrisome for me. Cody calmed my nerves and helped me visualize the entire room by walking me through every detail of the reception. During all of our weekly meetings, she had a calming presence and always assured me that the big day was going to turn out just as I hoped. I really can’t say enough nice things – she is THE wedding planner that every bride needs to have! She’s calm, creative, silly, and loving – but most importantly, she treats your special day as if it were her own. All of her brides are so important to her and she is willing to do anything (well, almost anything haha) to create an entire weekend that they will never forget. Our wedding weekend was the best weekend of our lives and a memory that we will cherish forever. My parents couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out and several guests have said that it was the best wedding they’d ever been to. If you are a bride, in Charlottesville or anywhere in the country, I have complete confidence that Cody will make your big day an absolute dream come true!

Cody is an absolute dream to work with. I live in London, England and was very nervous about planning a wedding from a far in a town I had only been to once! I knew I needed to work with a planner. I called all of the big names in the Charlottesville wedding circuit. I was almost hesitant to to call Cody at first because I just that her name was in People magazine for doing a wedding for a big name client.... I thought I'd never be able to afford working with a celebrity wedding planner! Thankfully, I called her, she was wonderful and her prices were reasonable. From the minute I talked to her, I knew this was the woman I wanted to plan my wedding with. As every other reviewer has said, she is warm and she will become your friend. After your wedding, you will miss your weekly phone calls terribly and find yourself thinking about 'what would Cody do?' when you hit snags in other parts of your life! Our wedding was a dream. I can't even think of a single thing that went wrong or wasn't exactly perfect (and I am a perfectionist...). She listened to our ideas and helped us shape the most beautiful wedding. She is incredibly creative and talented. Cody went above and beyond to make the whole weekend special. When she is your planner, it's hard to believe she is even planning other weddings because she is so involved and on top of things. She makes you feel like you are always #1. I never talk to an assistant or anything, always Cody, every time. Also, unlike a lot of wedding planners that get paid off of a % of total wedding costs (and therefore are not incentivized to help you reign in costs), Cody was very upfront about costs, stuck to our budget and really helped me understand what was worth splurging on and where we could cut costs. I adore this woman and I promise you will too!!!

Ladies, please do yourself a favor and hire Cody. She was absolutely incredible. She was my right hand woman and I couldn't have done this without her. A week before the wedding I called her (having a panic attack) with some advice- and she told me not to worry about anything. She handled all of my little odds and ends and to do stuff before the wedding. She really cared about my emotional stability! Haha. She was prompt at the wedding rehearsal, lined everyone one up in a timely fashion and made everyone feel so comfortable. You could tell that Cody has worked a few weddings- she knew exactly what to do. She knew all the vendors, she knew when to take control, and especially how to comfort the bride. I cannot say enough good things about Cody. Everyone loved her. She is simply the best. Bride to be's- my best advice to give you would be to hire Cody- don't even think twice about it!

Cody did an incredible job planning our wedding. We worked with her over several months and she was extremely responsive and accommodating. She did an amazing job recommending our vendors but giving us the flexibility to make our own choices. The day of the wedding was flawless! Cody had everything under control. We had gone over the timeline a few months prior to the wedding and everything was spot on on May 7th! I would highly recommend Cody for brides and grooms that are looking for a planner that can be their friend. Thank you Cody for helping us make our wedding the most memorable day of our lives!

Cody and all of Amore Events made my day so special from the very beginning. I can not say enough great things about how spectacular my day was largely due to Cody and her staff. My Mom lives in New Mexico and my now husband lives in Nashville, so communicating was difficult at times and Cody handled it in stride. She also came with me to my tasting and other wedding planning tasks which made me feel so comfortable and supported. Of course Cody made my venue look beautiful, but more importantly she made me feel special, loved, and confident. The day went so smoothly. Oh, and she did my flowers! Which were absolutely amazing. I could go on and on and on. If you are thinking of hiring a wedding planner, Cody is worth every penny! I highly recommend Amore Events!

I don't even know where to start. I can hands down say Cody was the best money we spent on our wedding. Every little detail provided by her was special, from her personality to her decor...absolutely amazing. Everyone told me the few weeks leading up to our wedding would be extremely stressful. I wasn't stressed at all. I worked most of the week leading up to the wedding. I knew Cody had everything under control and that was such a good feeling. She handled all of our vendors and created a detailed timeline for our wedding weekend. I could have never put anything like that together on my own and our wedding could not have been more perfect. I'll finish it off with a quick story that truly highlights Cody's character. My brother in law is mentally handicap. Cody offered to take him to his room during the wedding and put him to bed so my in-laws could stay and enjoy the wedding. She's such an incredible person and extremely talented. I would highly recommend her services. You will not only gain a stress-free, beautiful wedding but also a great friend.

The first thing Cody told me was, "I want you to feel like you're planning your wedding with your best friend." She did just that. She became my best friend in no time, and she executed my vision to a tee - making it even better than I could have dreamed. Seeing our venue after Cody "worked her magic" took my breath away and brought me to tears. There were so many times while planning our wedding that I knew she just "got it" - I didn't have to hold her hand at all...she just executed, and that was such a relief to me. (Plus, she knows her area SO well, and has an amazing relationship with all the vendors, which was so helpful so many times.) Cody's professionalism and way that she operates let me truly ENJOY our wedding planning process, and she created a day that was magical, in every sense of the word. Even guests marveled at the vibe she created - one of comfort, love, and elegance, and that's exactly what we had hoped for. I can't say enough about Cody as both a person and a wedding planner, and I couldn't be more grateful that we met her and used her. I can't imagine our wedding without her. It was everything I could have ever hoped for, and Cody was there for me every step of the way. You will have no regrets if you use her. She's simply the best.

Cody was beyond amazing. She was always there whenever I needed anything. She kept me calm. The day of the wedding I did not worry about a single thing. Listen. If you are getting married, this is the team you want!! Cody was so SO organized that I knew I wouldn't have to worry about anything! And for a bride, that means EVERYTHING. But beyond that, Cody Grannis becomes your friend. She can see your vision and make it so much more than you ever expected. You can laugh with her, cry with her, call her at 11:30 at night because you are freaking out about something random; she becomes your wedding rock. These are words, but words cannot ever truly describe how grateful I am to have had her as my wedding planner.

From the first phone call, Cody was completely devoted to making my daughter's wedding a dream come true. She is a consummate professional, patient, kind, creative and a whole lot of fun! Every detail of the wedding was perfect; everything ran on time, the flowers and decor were gorgeous, the food delicious and the DJ Cody recommended had everyone up and dancing all night.
Cody has a great working relationship with so many local vendors and can readily suggest venues, caterers, rental companies, DJs florists, bakeries and much more for any type of wedding you want to have.
Cody made my daughter's wedding day a joyful occasion and one that will be remembered only with happiness for years to come.
