Amazing photographer

Amy photographed our wedding in November and they were gorgeous! She was great to work with, professional, and so sweet! Looking over the photos brought tears to my eyes and just made me so happy to get to remember the day with such beautiful photos. She has a way with capturing joy and I have never felt more beautiful in the photos she took. It never felt awkward and she was making us laugh the whole time.

Amazing Photographer

We had a very small wedding with just immediate family (10 people) at a park. No one really knew what they were doing, where to stand during the ceremony, etc. Amy stepped in as a make shift coordinator and helped direct people while also taking photos. We didn't have a set plan until a few weeks before hand and Amy was ready and willing to roll with the changes. We didn't have a reception but if we decide to later, I will be giving her a call to capture the moments. She got our pictures back super quick and I "favorited" more than half of them. But they were ALL amazing photos.

She is very responsive, reliable, and communicative. Amy gave us direction to make sure we got good pictures. We also got some candid shots. I would recommend her to anyone.

Amy is the best photographer I have ever worked with

Working with Amy is a privilege. I don't know how else to describe it. She is so genuinely fun to be around that you can't help but smile. She has done everything from professional portraits to my wedding, and her work throughout it all has been spectacular. Everyone I know who has worked with Amy has had the same response I did: "No one has ever taken such a naturally good and happy picture of me. I look like myself in this photo." It's not forced, it's not uncomfortable, it's just brilliant work by a brilliant and fun photographer.

Your friendtographer can capture your true self

We can’t give Amy enough stars!! I am not a generally photogenic person, and I have NEVER seen so many photos of myself that I LOVE. She made the photo taking experience fun and was able to capture our personalities and natural smiles. She knows so much about weddings, and even helped us rearrange some of the ceremony setup because she knew there wouldn’t be enough room at the altar. She helped us to create a timeline and kept the flow of the day moving forward. She’s fun and friendly! My whole family adored having her and her extra camera friend Bronwyn around. They both stayed a bit after to join the dance party and I would give them an additional 5 stars for their dancing skills! Everyone should have Amy shoot their big life events. Amazing person and amazing work.

Gorgeous work and so fun!

There is a reason Amy Soper goes by "Yourfriendtographer" on Instagram, she is by far one of the friendliest and talented photographers in the PNW! Her work is clean with true beautiful color, her clients feel at ease on any shoot or wedding day. She is an artist in a variety of mediums, and you really see this come through with her work and editing. On wedding days, Amy is the perfect mix of fun and fly on the wall when she needs to be to catch the perfect shot. She is a breeze to work with and I just wish I had more weddings with her each year!

Amy is amazing!

We cannot recommend Amy enough! She has a magical way of making you feel comfortable taking intimate engagement photos, and then blends in with the crowd at your wedding, but somehow also can magically wrangle all of your Irish and New Jersey family into standing still and looking great! Her photos are crisp and clean, with bright colors and they capture the love of the moment.

Not to mention, Amy is incredibly fun to have around! She makes you feel calm and helps keep you laughing. Her turn around time is great, and I got my photos within a month of my wedding. She is responsive and really listens to what you want. We can't recommend her enough!

Amy was everything we wanted and more in a photographer for our wedding. She has a way of bringing calm, fun, and joy to those she is working with. Our top qualities we were looking for in a photographer is someone who made us feel comfortable, natural, and like we could just be ourselves and have fun. Amy did just that. She is super responsive, organized, and professional. She knows her job and does it well. Our pictures turned out perfectly. She captures the energy of a room so well, and my wife and I can’t help but smile every time we look at our photos. Looking at the pictures makes us want to relive our wedding day again and again. Professional, Fun and Beautiful work!

Amy was so wonderful to work with! She was easy going, personable, and made the awkward, in public engagement photo session less awkward for us! When we met for the first time to see if she was a good fit, we talked for close to an hour at her studio and she felt like a friend we had known forever. Besides the easy conversation, her work is beautiful. We were originally drawn to her photos because of the natural color. There weren’t any odd color filters that are trendy right now. We wanted to capture the natural colors and beauty of the day and our venue. She did just that. We were so pleased with the little moments she was able to capture. We also hired for a 2nd photographer and Amy selected someone who was also incredible to work with and a lot of fun! Our guests loved that they were popping into the photobooth and on the dancefloor at the end of the night. They blended in with the crowd and our guests truly enjoyed talking with them. It was also a nice touch at the end of the night. Amy told us she left us a gift. She was able to print out one of our wedding photos she had taken that day and framed it for us. So thoughtful! Post wedding, she sent us a slideshow teaser to view some of the photos, which was amazing! We received all of our photos quickly afterward. Would highly recommend Amy!

I'd highly recommend Amy as your wedding or event photographer! She's so personable which makes the day SO much easier. Who wants someone they can't talk to following them around for most of the day and talking to their guests? She was great with the kids in our wedding party and captured amazing moments of them as well. Her response time was fantastic and she got us our engagement photos and wedding photos back quickly!

True expert and professional!

Hiring Amy was the best decision we could have made. She not only is an amazing photographer, but she is very skilled at making you feel comfortable in front of the camera. We had two engagement shoots with her, where we were either trekking through the woods in the dark or shooting in a freezing waterfall, and she never once complained, heavy gear and all! Her positive attitude is infectious. On our wedding day, she was the one thing I didn’t have to stress about at all! I knew she would be on time, and would jump right in. She did a great job at capturing all the moments, and everything on our shot list. I was blown away with the professionalism from a business perspective. Documentation, contracts, payments etc. were easy to receive, sign, and do online. The speed in which she gets photos back to you is unheard of! She even sent us a cute gift in the mail around the holidays with our engagement photo and made a fun sneak peak slideshow of our wedding day. The cherry on top, she printed a photo from the day of the wedding and put it in a centerpiece frame and gifted it to us at the end of the night! It was so fun to go home with a memento from the day. I highly recommend that you hire Amy, you will not be disappointed.

Her photos transport me back to relive the best day of my life

I had the pleasure of working alongside Amy for many years when I was in the industry. When it came to my own wedding day, choosing Amy was a no-brainer! It's such an important decision and I'm so glad we booked her.

Our engagement shoot with her was great practice for us. As I'm sure is the case with most couples, we'd never had experience posing for a professional photographer with each other before. It's surprisingly difficult to look natural, not feel uncomfortable while kissing and to actually look cute while attempting to capture the love you share with another human. Amy gave us great direction and made us feel very comfortable (almost an impossible feat for my husband!). She's laid-back, fun, carefree, and fully open to any suggestions we had. I have to also mention that it was absolutely POURING down rain that day, which obviously makes a photo shoot extremely difficult. Amy rolled with the punches, juggled her gear and umbrellas with ease, and the photos still turned out beautifully.

Working with her and her awesome assistant (Bronwen) on our wedding day was a breeze. She provided a shot list for us to fill out prior, so she just went to town as soon as she got there without needing any direction. We had a lot of shots to get through on another rainy day with a lot of different people involved, but Amy kept us wrangled and on schedule. Bronwen was amazing with engaging the kids (and a lot of the adults too)! I just loved when their time was up at the end of the night and they joined us on the dance floor. They were breaking it down better than the guests! What a fun pair.

The wedding day went by in a flash of course - we were on a high all weekend. Once it was over, the thing we looked forward to the most was getting our photos back. Sadly, we were a bit disappointed with how our wedding video turned out, so I was a little nervous to see the photos. I needn't have been worried - they were absolutely stunning! She captured every detail perfectly. I have looked through them from start to finish at least 50 times now and each time I relive my wedding day all over again. The memories come flooding back and the feelings of love and support just fill my heart and soul.

Please don't take the decision of choosing your wedding photographer lightly. It is a very personal choice. Choose someone you jive with and whose photos speak to you. Try to picture yourself in place of that couple and see if that is the style you're looking for. You will be showing these photos off a thousand times and will look back on them yourself even more.

I could not be more grateful to Amy (and Bronwen) and the gift she has given me for a lifetime.

We picked Amy to be our wedding photographer for our ceremony in Woodinville on August 10th. Amy is such a blast to work with! We did our engagement photos at Discovery park and Amy lugged her big bag of cameras on the mile hike out to our destination. Our pictures came out beautifully! Also, did I mention she is a pet photographer too? We had our dog apart of our engagement pictures and some of the wedding photos. She managed to get some amazing shots with the three of us (I also now believe my dog is more photogenic that I am!). Her and her assistant were so great on our wedding day! We have some great memories to look back on of that day and that is due to Amy's amazing photography skills.

There is no better person to capture the moments of our wedding day than Amy. In addition to being incredibly talented, the combination of her wonderful and fun attitude/demeanor and her leadership for getting us through the pre-wedding photos was such a blessing. Amy was wonderful! I highly recommend her. She produced beautiful photos - hooray! We somehow look so glamorous! - and a gorgeous album layout - but what I'd actually like to emphasize is how easy she was to work with and how down-to-earth and regular she was to talk to. She's super-responsive over email and she gets it that you're harried. I gave her our shots list at the very last minute, at something like 3am the night before we got married, and despite that, she was able to scramble that morning and get organized and we got all the photos I wanted. (Thanks Amy... and sorry about that!) She's super willing to make a little adjustment to a photo, e.g. send over a black-and-white version, and promptly! Talk about an easy person to work with.

Amy Soper is easily the best photographer in the Pac NW. Once you know Amy, you love and cherish her forever. So many of her clients book her for an engagement shoot, and before you know it, she’s photographing their weddings, baby announcements, children, pets, family reunions, and basically any other event they can think of. Now I understand why. Amy has this wonderful ability to make you confident in her skills and make you feel that this moment is uniquely yours. You don’t ever feel like she’s checking off from a list of poses or going through the motions to get through the shoot. She’s funny. She’s engaged. She’s authentic. You want to hang out with her. And then you see her photos! I hate being in photos and was seriously stressed about the idea of being in hundreds of them on my wedding day. But I can honestly say that each and every photo looks like me ... but better! She captured the love we have for each other and for our favorite people in the world. Amy’s photography is a gift and we are so glad we found her for our wedding day.

Amy is hands down one of my favorite wedding vendors we selected for our special day!

When we first met for coffee, I think she said something like, “I want to make sure I get to know you and that you feel comfortable around me because on your wedding day, I’m going to be all up in your personal space with my camera. I want to make sure you’re able to relax and let your true happiness shine through.” I’m paraphrasing, I’m sure she said something way more magical. :)

Leading up to the day, Amy was true to her word. We met a few more times, shared our love of coffee and whiskey, and bounced photo ideas back and forth over email. On the day of, Amy and her second photographer melded right in with our wedding party. She kept us laughing, kept us on schedule, and ultimately captured some of the happiest moments of my life and I couldn’t be more thankful.

When we set out to plan our wedding, it was important to us that we found vendors who wanted to know us and to create our day specifically for us. Amy did exactly that. There is no more accurate word than Friendtographer to describe Amy. Thanks for everything Amy!

Amy has been amazing - she was available on short notice (we first communicated less than a week before our elopement), and was very accommodating and sweet. Transactions were a breeze because I was able to do the contract and payment process all online. We had a lot of fun with Amy the day of our wedding. She scouted the venue and found the perfect spot for outdoor photos. She also had the photos ready right away, and they are beautiful! Our puppy dog Patrone was an important part of our wedding day and she got some amazing shots of him in his tux!

Seriously. What else is there to say? Amy is, hands down, the most talented, happy, energetic, passionate, and friendly photographer on the market. Okay, I haven't met them all, but believe me when I say she is amazing. We were SOOOO incredibly lucky to have met Amy and hired her to do our engagement shots and wedding day photography. Although timing on wedding days tends to be a little scattered, Amy took it with flying colors and got all shots that we could have wanted, and more! We had a blast with Amy on our wedding day - she definitely helped ease the wedding jitters and made both my wife and I a little more calm and ready for the big day ahead of us. After the wedding and the scheduled time we had with her, Amy stayed and partied the night away with us at the bonfire we had at the campground. Seriously - what other photographers would do this? Working with Amy was truly a pleasure. She really seemed to "get" our vision of our wedding and spent a lot of time really getting to know us, which I think made our photos so amazingly personalized. Every time I thought, oh it would be great to get a picture of...she would be there already taking it.

On top of all of the beautiful photos Amy was so much fun! She made me and my husband feel so at ease during our individual session and got right in on the action for some amazing dance photos and action shots. Even though we live in TX and our wedding and Amy were in WA I would definitely look to her for any future photographer needs. She is 100% amazing!

We just received our wedding photos back from Amy and I could not be happier with how they turned out!! She is incredibly talented and captured the spirit of the day. During planning Amy was very easy to work with and communicative during the whole process. She provided a shot list prior to the big day which really helped organize the wedding party and our extended families. Amy and her assistant spent 8 1/2 hours with us - and that didn't include coming over to the wedding venue on the ferry! - and she was upbeat and energetic the whole time. Her pricing is extremely reasonable particularly given that she includes an engagement session and has no time restrictions, plus she gave us a pet discount! I would highly recommend Amy!

I can't say enough about how incredibly talented Amelia is. I went through around 80 portfolios, and when I came across Amelia's I knew she was the photographer for us. Her personality shows through the pictures-fun, artistic, creative, and just awesome. I cared more about my pictures than my dress, and I couldn't be more pleased. Amy is wonderful!! We loved getting to know her during our engagement session, so on our wedding day it felt like we had another friend along. I ran into Amy and her services (through Dane + Dane) about 2 years before I was even engaged at the Walk for the Animals, I know it sounds crazy but at that point we were together for 7 years. I fell in love with the photos and angles. I held on to that business card for 2 years knowing that I wanted them!
Amy was so amazing to work with and professional. She and her assistant’s eye for detail are incredible. We got our photos back in a short time and when we saw all of them it was like reliving the entire day. She captured moments that I wouldn’t have even thought to ask for and the ability to have access to every photo that was taken throughout the day sets her above all the other photographers we compared her services to.
She goes above and beyond any expectations I had ever imaged in a wedding photographer. I am so happy to have met her and I can’t wait until we work together again...Perhaps on the family planning side of things ;)
I would recommend her services a million times over!

Amy was great, we got to know her through a few meetings together before the wedding and she was so easy to communicate with. We did a session with our dogs to get to know her style and got some great pics of dogs in the grass on the sunny day, beautiful shots. At our wedding she was relaxed and calm and got all the shots we wanted. We haven't gotten the shots back yet, but the one photo we have seen is gorgeous and we cant wait to see the others! All her work we have seen online is great, she does very original photos.

I never write reviews on anything. But having had almost two months to reflect on our wonderful wedding, I felt compelled to write a review about Amy, with the hopes that other couples would get a chance to experience her exceedingly rare combination of charm, friendliness, artistic talent, work ethic, and stunning photographs.

We met Amy a couple of times. The first time, over drinks in Belltown, was enough to convince me that she was the photographer for us (we'd probably met with 5-10 other photographers by that point). I'm really picky about photography - Amy's portfolio immediately conveyed a talent simultaneously comfortable with documenting an event and capturing those moments and details in thoughtful, artistic, and beautiful ways. We immediately decided on her.

First she came out and did our engagement photos. Being the groom-to-be, I wasn't necessarily comfortable getting photographed. Let me tell you -- Amy tromped around with us in Discovery park and the photos she captured are hands down my favorite photographs of us as a couple. I was impressed then by her professional attitude and willingness to go the extra mile (we literally tromped around in the woods).

At the wedding, Amy was amazing. Her and her assistant captured everything about the event. They were professional, detail orientated, hard working, and incredibly proficient. I can honestly say that they made our wedding better. It was a joy to have them at our wedding, sharing our happiness, and the resulting photos have, by far, exceeded my wildest expectations. They are an heirloom. They are a reflection of the joy, details, love, friends, quirkiness, beauty and soul of our wedding.

I hope she's around for my childrens's weddings, and I am heartily recommended her to all of my friends.

Amy was absolutely amazing for our engagement shoots and wedding day last June. The photos she took those days are really better described as art. We never get tired of looking at them and get so many comments on how beautiful they are. I would recommend Amy to anyone looking for a photographer.

My wife and I are impulsive kind of people and are pretty hands off. We read a good review of her on the knot.com and scheduled an appointment with her. We liked her so much we hired her on the spot. She was the first and last photographer we talked to.

One of the reasons we chose her is because she was laid back and willing to go with the flow. We were less concerned with formal shots and more concerned about capturing the mood, feeling, beauty, and romance of our wedding. In other words, the last thing we wanted was to be trying to enjoy our day and have a photographer constantly in our face telling us to look this way or that way and hold my hand here. We wanted candid shots so we gave Amy all the room for artistic freedom she wanted. And man did she impress!

We certainly did have some formal pictures that turned out top notch, but our favorite was all of the candid ones! What was great is that we never felt that she was in the way.

We ordered the two carat package which was perfect! Although, it says 8 hours and two photographers we had Amy for 12 hours plus two additional photographers for at least 6 hours. That's a total of three photographers and 24 hours of labor in one day! She also did some great editing like removing backgrounds, cleaning up skin blemishes and red cheeks, editing text on a passing train, putting the flowers in color and everything else in black and white, black and white shots, sepia shots, and all kinds of fun poses. Between the three photographers everything that happened that day was well documented. We have over 2,000 photos and almost all of them are framable!

We had a friend get married in the same the month as us and they spent $3,000. But they didn't own any of their wedding photos. They were given a website where they had to order and pay for the shots on top of the $3,000. We have the ability to take our photos to Costco and get them developed for cheap!

Amy is one of the best photographers I have ever seen. She is worth far more than she charges. I also have to mention that her assistant whose name is escaping me right now (maybe Mike), was also a lot of fun and made some great shots. If you get the package with an assistant you should ask for him.

I wish there were more stars to give. Amy was absolutely amazing. A friend recommended her to us and after reviewing her website and meeting with her we booked her. I am SO glad we did - we could not be happier with our wedding photos.

Amy has so much energy and enthusiasm. She was extremely responsive and worked with our schedules. I had lots of questions and ideas before the wedding and Amy always responded quickly to my emails and met with us to go over our plans. She got to our hotel early on the day of the wedding and didn't stop till we were in our car to leave. Our other vendors loved working with her and our guests thought she was great. On top of all that, our photos were perfect. Amy took the most beautiful, creative photos of our wedding. We have gotten so many compliments from friends and family and we can't believe how many wonderful photos we have to pick from. We would recommend Amy to anyone!

We were very fortunate to have Amy shoot our wedding. On the wedding day, she was there on time ready to go before we were there, super flexible, and very creative in coming up with posed and non-posed shots. I barely realized she was even there half the time and when I was attuned to her being there, she had me laughing and smiling. Our shots were incredible and she presented them to us in a beautiful book as well as a complete DVD set in a very prompt manner. I posted some of our shots to my facebook page and I have had photographer friends just rave about her sense of light, timing, and the quality of photos. Our engagement shoot was also a blast. Amy did a great job for us! She has so many great ideas and she captured absolutely the entire day. My husband and I are not big on having our pictures taken but Amy was so much fun and really made us completely comfortable. She really impressed us with her creativity. She was also very flexible when our schedules changed and she worked very hard for us to get as much done as possible in our tight windows of opportunity. The hard bound book she created is more fun than you could imagine. We can relive the entire day as we flip from page to page. It's really beautiful and a great way to bring back all the memories. Everyone who sees the book comments on how nice it is. I would definitely recommend using Amy for any of your photography needs!

What else can we say about Amy that doesnt already show in her photography Professional, creative, charismatic, and most of all a blast to work with - Amy really has an eye for the setting and knows how to capture the true feel of an event. Her photos can now be found in almost every room of our home. We loved her work so much that we were honored to have her shoot the first photographs of our newborn baby, Jeremy, which once again exceeded all of our expectations. We cannot recommend her enough and only hope she can save the date for Jeremys wedding 20 years from now!

Amy has a way of bringing out your personality in every situation and turns it into an amazing photograph. I loved that she was with me the entire day from hair and make up to getting in the limo. I have great pictures to treasure. The best part was getting my pictures on a CD so that I can pick and choose which ones to print at my leisure. She was also able to travel to our location in Lynden, WA.

I cant say enough good things about Amy. She was amazing throughout the entire process. She traveled up to our location (1.5 hours north of Seattle) for our engagement and wedding pics. She arrived at 9AM to start taking pictures of us getting ready and stayed until 11PM when the party was wrapping up. The minute she got there, she went to work taking pictures of all the details. Whenever something was going on during the day, she was right there snapping away. She knew we were leaving for a 3 week honeymoon on the Tuesday after the wedding, so she worked hard and had a few teaser pics posted on her site 2 days afterwards. We just got the final proof book and DVD from her and the pictures are amazing. She captured so much emotion and so many details that we didn't get a chance to appreciate the day of.
