The Perfect Wedding Weekend at Ella's Vineyard!
We hired Amanda & her team as our day of coordinators, but they were SO much more than that. They were truly a partner to us throughout our two year engagement - checking in on our planning progress through our online portal & zoom calls, giving us so many incredible resources to get us started (check lists, timeline templates, vendor contacts, just to name a few!) and always being quick to respond to our questions and share their recommendations / opinions.
It was really important to us that our friends & family got to enjoy the day, so we were very grateful that we could lean on Amanda, Sarah & Shea to handle all of the day-of logistics. They did an incredible job running the show - coordinating with all of the other vendors we had on site, setting up all of our personal decor & details, and keeping the timeline running smoothly as the night went on.
We hired Amanda & her team as our day of coordinators, but they were SO much more than that. AHE for the Win!
The AHE team won us over from the first skype meet & greet call. Amanda is such a pro and set us up for success with vendor reccos and tools to make wedding planning so much easier. Hannah was our girl for the wedding weekend and month-of coordination. Best Wedding Planners in California!
Working with Amanda, Hannah, and the whole team at Amanda Holder Events was like working with family. We knew from the first call that they were the team for us; choosing them to support us in planning our wedding weekend was by far the best choice we made in planning our wedding.
We had a three day wedding weekend, and the entire time was the most beautiful, organized, and special weekend of our lives. Amanda and her team were with us every step of the way throughout the planning process. Whenever we spoke with them, we felt like we were the only clients they had. They made us feel so special, they were consistently kind, and went out of their way to make sure we had the best vendors, design, and experience a couple could ask for.

Amanda Holder & Team exceeded every expectation
Our wedding went off without a hitch because of the excellent coordination services provided by Amanda Holder and her team. Amanda stepped in to help as soon as we decided to hire her over a year before our wedding to be our day-of coordinator and checked in with us every month till the big day. She was there every step of the way to offer guidance, expertise, and support throughout our wedding planning experience. When our wedding weekend arrived, Amanda and her team helped ensure everyone including vendors was on-time, knew where to set-up, and checked in with us throughout the events (rehearsal, welcome reception, rehearsal dinner & wedding day-of coordination) to ensure my now husband and I were taken care of. There is not enough words I can say to truly say how AMAZING it was to work with Amanda and her team. Truly from the entire process of booking my vendors, communicating with my parents, helping me decide small details, to just being an incredible nice and stress free wedding planner - it was incredible. Most brides say that the day of (which in my case was a weekend long event - 4+ events) is extremely stressful and goes by quickly and a little bit of a blur and it could NOT be less true with Amanda. Truly enjoyed and was in the moment at each event with ZERO stress!! Amanda and her team are PROs and they gave us the best day & weekend we could've imagined and MORE! What a day with Shea!
Shea was incredibly professional and helped to make the event experience extremely smooth from start to finish. I was traveling from out of town, and she answered all my questions and made it very easy to work with her. Also considering there were multiple venue sites, her and her team did an amazing job. A dream to work with
Amanda Holder and her team are truly the best at what they do. The planning process with Amanda was made very easy. She did almost all of the leg work for us. Whenever we even started to feel the least bit stressed, Amanda would calm our worries and show us everything was on schedule.
During the event itself, Amanda's team were truly incredible. As the Bride and Groom, we never had to lift a finger or make any decisions on our special day (Special shoutout to Hannah and Martha for keeping our drink glasses full and every need catered too!). Although, I know Amanda and her team work on weddings nearly every weekend, she never, ever treated us like we were "just another wedding" on her schedule. We always had her full attention and she truly cared about putting on our special day. I could not recommend her more highly. We laughed, we cried, and most importantly we didn’t have to worry about any of the coordination details!
I’m definitely not your typical bride, my now husband is not your typical groom, and the event we planned was not your typical wedding. To start off, we are both busy- VERY busy. My husband is an architect working full time for a local design firm and part time at starting his own business. I’m a full-time COVID epidemiologist, an almost full-time graduate student, and a research assistant for several studies. We are also both (former) fire performers and we’ve been heavily involved in bringing art and participatory activity to the Burning Man festival for our entire relationship and then some. We’ve also amassed an incredible, tight-knit, hilarious, loving community of friends and chosen family over the years in addition to our blood-related families who we are also very close with (and who are also a colorful cast of characters on their own!).
The wedding we wanted, or rather, NEEDED amidst the hardship and isolation of the last two plus years was very particular. We needed to be able to invite between 100-200 guests, to have the venue all weekend, to be able to stay on-site, to be able to do the rehearsal, ceremony, reception, etc at the venue, to be able to stay up late making noise around a fire pit, and to have a safe spot to include fire performance and aerial performance in the festivities. Despite the rather tall order, we found a perfect, beautiful venue, Camp Ocean Pines in Cambria, CA. The only problem? Their availability meant that we’d only have 6 months to plan the wedding, an almost insurmountable feat even for people half as chaotically busy as we are.
At first, we tried to soldier along on our own. We figured out some of the details, picked out our wedding garments, found a donut shop to do a donut wall (we both think cake is overrated), and enlisted loved ones to fill some of the crucial roles (our officiant, florist, and photographer were all dear friends of ours, it was very special). We also enlisted my mom and my sister to help, and truly we felt pretty confident until we realized the sheer number of details that still needed to be figured out and the immense amount of coordination that would be needed over the weekend and on the big day. Needless to say, we panicked and froze and started to freak out- classic.
In a stroke of characteristic pragmatism just two months before the wedding, my mom, whom this wedding would not have happened without, decided to hire a wedding coordinator. At first, I told her we didn’t need one, but looking back that was absolutely naive of me, because we definitely should have hired someone as soon as we set the date.
When my mom hired Amanda and her team, every vendor we spoke to, without prompting, enthusiastically told us that we made a good choice and that Amanda was THE BEST. They were certainly right! Amanda scheduled a virtual meeting with us right away to discuss our vision and what we’d need help with, and right from the get-go she was professional, organized, kind, and totally on-board with our nontraditional shenanigan-filled ideas. Over the course of the next two months, her and her amazing team gently pushed us to organize our thoughts and ideas as well as the plans we had already made, to make arrangements for the things we had not figured out yet, and to help us make our dreams a beautiful reality, all while respecting and understanding how frazzled and overworked we were.
The weekend of the event finally rolled around, and I met the rest of Amanda’s team on-site the night of the rehearsal. Not only were they all some of the nicest people I’ve ever met, but they worked like a well-tuned machine. By the end of the rehearsal I felt confident that this was all going to work- we were in good hands! They stayed on-site for a while longer on Friday, which was a godsend because I was still so clueless about everything and every time someone asked me a question I just directed them to the team and knew it would get handled. I chatted with most of the team members one on one and they were the kind of people who I would have invited to the wedding even if they weren’t coordinators. They made my family, my husband, his family, and our friends feel so supported and cared for!
When I woke up, groggy and mildly hungover on Saturday late morning, Amanda’s team was already on-site and in action. As I got my makeup done and was transformed from a sweaty mess into a beautiful bride, the team checked in on me and the other guests who got ready with me and buzzed around the venue getting things done and coordinating other vendors. The first time I peeked outside at the ceremony space, I was floored. It was beyond gorgeous and so perfect that I couldn’t keep myself from happy crying. Not once did I have to interrupt my emotions to deal with logistics.
The ceremony itself was overwhelmingly beautiful and my heart aches knowing that I can’t live in that exact hour for the rest of my life. Everything went off without a hitch thanks to the team, and really they were just getting started. As soon as they dismissed the guests to the reception hall, they brought my husband and me drinks, water, and tissues (we needed those by a huge degree, haha). They kept us on-time for photos, led us to the entrance hall, and even had plates of dinner already set out for us when we got there. With the second drink-refresh, I started to feel like the president being attended to by a team of loyal secret-service agents, it was pretty surreal and I might have let it get to my head a little bit.
Over the rest of the night they continued to hold the entire event down while still having fun and participating in our silly nonsense and party-games. The first dance was, as you can guess, a first fire dance, and both my husband and I had to change into different outfits beforehand. Hannah, one of Amanda’s team members, drove my tipsy self up to the on-site cabins and helped me change, kept me from getting too distracted, and drove me back down to the reception hall. I probably wouldn’t have been able to do all of that on my own.
When it was time to say goodbye to Amanda and the crew, I felt a genuine pang of sadness in my heart. Everyone was beyond lovely and I just wanted to hang out with them longer, even if they weren’t bringing me drinks! Their service was compassionate, personal, warm, gentle, organized, professional, nonjudgmental, and incredibly effective. Throughout the whole weekend, I was able to focus on the important stuff while they handled all of the finer details AND made me feel so so special.
My husband, our families, our friends, and me were able to have the most hilarious, fun, carefree, and beautifully spiritually important time of our lives because of Amanda and her team. They were the integral piece in bringing our vision to life and I cannot thank them (or my mom!) enough for making it happen. I told all of them that they’re part of my family now and I will absolutely treat them to coffee or a meal if they’re ever in my neck of the woods.
So the ultimate questions are: Is Amanda Holder Events “THE BEST?”? Do they live up to the hype?? The answer is the most resounding “yes” ever spoken and I’d give them 100 out of 5 stars in every category if possible. I highly recommend Amanda to anyone looking for a great wedding coordinator, especially if your ceremony is quirky and nontraditional like mine. When my mom hired Amanda and her team, every vendor we spoke to, without prompting, enthusiastically told us that we made a good choice and that Amanda was THE BEST. They were certainly right! Amanda scheduled a virtual meeting with us right away to discuss our vision and what we’d need help with, and right from the get-go she was professional, organized, kind, and totally on-board with our nontraditional shenanigan-filled ideas. Over the course of the next two months, her and her amazing team gently pushed us to organize our thoughts and ideas as well as the plans we had already made, to make arrangements for the things we had not figured out yet, and to help us make our dreams a beautiful reality, all while respecting and understanding how frazzled and overworked we were.
The weekend of the event finally rolled around, and I met the rest of Amanda’s team on-site the night of the rehearsal. Not only were they all some of the nicest people I’ve ever met, but they worked like a well-tuned machine. By the end of the rehearsal I felt confident that this was all going to work- we were in good hands! They stayed on-site for a while longer on Friday, which was a godsend because I was still so clueless about everything and every time someone asked me a question I just directed them to the team and knew it would get handled. I chatted with most of the team members one on one and they were the kind of people who I would have invited to the wedding even if they weren’t coordinators. They made my family, my husband, his family, and our friends feel so supported and cared for!
When I woke up, groggy and mildly hungover on Saturday late morning, Amanda’s team was already on-site and in action. As I got my makeup done and was transformed from a sweaty mess into a beautiful bride, the team checked in on me and the other guests who got ready with me and buzzed around the venue getting things done and coordinating other vendors. The first time I peeked outside at the ceremony space, I was floored. It was beyond gorgeous and so perfect that I couldn’t keep myself from happy crying. Not once did I have to interrupt my emotions to deal with logistics.
The ceremony itself was overwhelmingly beautiful and my heart aches knowing that I can’t live in that exact hour for the rest of my life. Everything went off without a hitch thanks to the team, and really they were just getting started. As soon as they dismissed the guests to the reception hall, they brought my husband and me drinks, water, and tissues (we needed those by a huge degree, haha). They kept us on-time for photos, led us to the entrance hall, and even had plates of dinner already set out for us when we got there. With the second drink-refresh, I started to feel like the president being attended to by a team of loyal secret-service agents, it was pretty surreal and I might have let it get to my head a little bit.
Over the rest of the night they continued to hold the entire event down while still having fun and participating in our silly nonsense and party-games. The first dance was, as you can guess, a first fire dance, and both my husband and I had to change into different outfits beforehand. Hannah, one of Amanda’s team members, drove my tipsy self up to the on-site cabins and helped me change, kept me from getting too distracted, and drove me back down to the reception hall. I probably wouldn’t have been able to do all of that on my own.
When it was time to say goodbye to Amanda and the crew, I felt a genuine pang of sadness in my heart. Everyone was beyond lovely and I just wanted to hang out with them longer, even if they weren’t bringing me drinks! Their service was compassionate, personal, warm, gentle, organized, professional, nonjudgmental, and incredibly effective. Throughout the whole weekend, I was able to focus on the important stuff while they handled all of the finer details AND made me feel so so special.
My husband, our families, our friends, and me were able to have the most hilarious, fun, carefree, and beautifully spiritually important time of our lives because of Amanda and her team. They were the integral piece in bringing our vision to life and I cannot thank them (or my mom!) enough for making it happen. I told all of them that they’re part of my family now and I will absolutely treat them to coffee or a meal if they’re ever in my neck of the woods.
So the ultimate questions are: Is Amanda Holder Events “THE BEST?”? Do they live up to the hype?? The answer is the most resounding “yes” ever spoken and I’d give them 100 out of 5 stars in every category if possible. I highly recommend Amanda to anyone looking for a great wedding coordinator, especially if your ceremony is quirky and nontraditional like mine. While I’ve never worked with a wedding coordinator prior to this, I can confidently say that we happened to stumble across the best people for the job, and our magical weekend would not have been possible without them.-

Amanda and her team are THE ABSOLUTE BEST! Not only is Amanda the sweetest most calmest human being to ever live, her team is attentive, detail-oriented, and focused. They helped to make our day run smoother than we could have ever imagined. Wedding planning during a pandemic was not always easy, but the Amanda Holder Events team always put my mind at ease. Amanda is SO GREAT with communication! She replies quickly and completely, and answered all questions throughout the wedding planning process. Although I hired Amanda for wedding management as a day-of coordinator at my venue, she did SO MUCH MORE. And a fun bonus, Amanda's mom works on the team and is such a joy to be around: we all hit it off right away. Don't walk... RUN to hire Amanda. She's the best and made my dream wedding a reality!
