Kate helped make our day perfect!

Kate and the team at A Charmed Affair are true professionals. We went with the wedding management package (not full planning but support leading up plus day-of support). Kate and her team are true professionals, incredibly flexible, and go above and beyond to make your wedding wishes come true. She guided us every step of the way to help us navigate all the decisions and tradeoffs involved in wedding planning. She really listened to our vision for the day, and it's clear she's passionate about her work. On the day of the wedding, Kate's team brought such fun and professionalism to the day. Hiring A Charmed Affair will be the best decision you make!

Of all the decisions we made about our wedding, hiring Kate to be our coordinator was among the best! She’s an experienced professional and most of all, she’s the epitome of GST (get stuff done!). She shared all of that experience to give us crucial advice on how best to structure every element of our wedding, which we were unsure about (and several where we thought we were sure, but we were just inclined toward unwise decisions). She worked through many complicated logistical issues related to how we used our wedding venue to ensure our guests had the best experience. Her day-of team was fully prepared for everything thrown at them and executed everything flawlessly. Need pain relievers? Check. Need to bustle the dress? Check. On top of her team’s professional expertise, they were so light-hearted and fun! I gave Kate full creative freedom to set-up parts of our wedding, and let’s just say everything was magical, gorgeous, and perfect. She created the perfect moody winter wonderland. Kate helped make our wedding day perfect

Kate wasn't the most involved to the lead-up of the wedding month, but once it was go-time we trusted her with our lives. She got all the vendors on the same page, provided visibility into the day-of timeline and details to me and my wife's families, and her and her team managed the wedding event itself with professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. Seriously, we felt so confident that everything was going to be perfectly prepped and smooth running because we had Kate and her wonderful team.

Kate and her team are true professionals and were so easy to work with. My venue required a partial planner and Kate worked within my budget and my needs. She was excitable and fun to talk to and clearly has a lot of experience. Our check-ins were helpful and efficient and she made me feel confident. Kate is amazing!!!

Choosing to work with Kate was possibly the best decision we made in the wedding planning process. She is incredibly organized, detail-oriented, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in making your day everything you dreamed of (multiplied by 1000). From the very beginning in the wedding process, she brought such a calming presence and helped us navigate every detail with confidence and ease. On the wedding weekend, she handled everything behind the scenes so masterfully that we were able to be fully present and enjoy every moment.

Kate had an incredible ability to understand our vision — even when you’re not sure how to articulate it — and turn it into something beautiful, seamless, and personal.

The most amazing person and planner in existence!

Omg literally the kindest angel sent from heaven! Kate Arel made every single thing we talked about over the 1.5+ years of working together come to life! She is the most prepared person I have ever met (coming from someone very type A lol) and has so much expertise to share! Her team worked tirelessly all day throughout the wedding and made everything run so smoothly! Her and her team are the main reason that my husband and I were able to be so calm and present on our wedding day. If I could tell every single person I know to book with her, I would!!! Planner of our dreams.

Where do I even begin?! How could I possibly express in words alone how amazing Kate and her entire team are? From the very beginning of our wedding planning process to the very end, Kate was there, making everything run smoothly and then some. There are planners who stand in a corner and point their fingers, and then there are planners who get down and dirty, into the nitty gritty, to make your special day a dream come true. Kate Aral exceeded both my husbands and my level of expectations by a long shot. There was no other wedding planner who was more fit for the job.

Kate was an absolute dream to work with from beginning to end. The articulation of our "dream wedding" was not an easy one, but she made everything from beginning to end run completely smooth. Her team was attentive and there was nothing that she literally didn't or wouldn't do that transcended into something more imaginable than we had ever thought. It also rained in the beginning, which is something that most people would have a melt down about, but made everything feel as though it was a timeless feeling of magic set in to the most perfect setting which reflecting back on was exactly what we needed in that moment. To just be in the moment. She took care of everything so dear to our hearts.

The best team!

Kate and Danielle are the absolute best! Kate helped us stay organized with our to do list while coordinating between the vendors. Danielle was on-site with us with Kate when we did a walkthrough of the venue and for our wedding weekend. She made sure everything went off without a hitch! They are both so kind and made sure everything went perfectly. Could not recommend more! We love them so much it only made sense to enlist their help for my sisters wedding ☺️

ACA created our dream day!!!!

There were a few standout elements of working with ACA to call out: Their incredible design skills, their attention to detail and guest experience, and their overall emotional support/reassurance during a stressful time.

1) Design Skills: We are really not design savy people, but I had a vision of how I wanted our wedding to make guests "feel"; when describing this vision to Kate, I was doubtful she could translate my awful design descriptions into something beautiful but she absolutely blew me away. She understood my vision exactly (elegant, intimate, garden party) and made a Pintrest-worthy wedding for us. Everything from the layout, to the table design, florals, foliage, cutlery, and plates was absolutely stunning- we received a ton of compliments! Obviously I am biased but I think it was the most elegantly designed wedding I've ever attended :)

2) Attention to Detail / Guest Experience: Kate and her ACA team truly think about EVERY single detail. Things that never even crossed our mind were beautifully planned and executed by her team. You can leave it to ACA to anticipate every event and guest need. Their attention to detail the guest experience was so apparent. One of our guests even made a comment "The wedding planning team was so ahead of the game, they handed me a blanket before I even realized I was cold!"

3) Reassurance: There's no doubt that wedding planning is stressful for everyone. By the end, we had a lot of concerns of how the weather would turn out (cold and rainy?) and Kate kept us calm with her clear-headed confidence that "she got this". This attitude was exactly what we needed so we could take a breath and enjoy our day, because we knew we had a phenomenal team running the show for us.

I could not recommend them enough, they made our dreams come true!

Exactly what we needed for our day

We hired Kate and her team later in our wedding planning process as we realized we needed someone to help us during the day of. She was such a calming force during our wedding day and her and her team went above and beyond. From setting up to making sure everyone was where they were supposed to be, we felt so at ease knowing Kate had it covered. Not only that, she was so kind and genuine. We could feel her excitement for us even though we had only met a few times and felt so supported. Not only were we covered with support from Kate & team throughout they day, she also provides access to her "wed shed" helping couples with decor items and more! Our wedding would not have been what it was without her and we are so grateful for her support!!

Speechless

Kate went above and beyond with our wedding. Everything, my wife and I could have ever wanted from a wedding planner. A wedding isn't a wedding, without a little chaos (especially, behind the scenes). But Kate, a real MVP - made our special day go so smoothly. Brian & Sara Wedding | Charmed Affair Followup

My wife Sara and I just wrapped up our wedding weekend at The Barn at Liberty Farms, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience working with Kate and A Charmed Affair!

Kate, Danielle, and the rest of their team were SO easy to work with, and they were truly able to accommodate our every need, and all with a smile on their faces. It didn't matter how specific our requests were, or how much time it all took to bring to life -- they made it happen (and then some!)

We received so many rave reviews from our guests about how magical the Barn looked and how easily the wedding flowed, it was just an incredible weekend that we did not want to end.

Booking a wedding over Memorial Day upstate can be tough, as there's a lot going on with the kick-off to summer, but Kate and Danielle always made us feel like we were their only clients and were available at the drop of a hat to meet and chat with us, no matter how frantic we sounded!

We'd be happy to recommend them to any couple looking to get married upstate, and will absolutely be back to see them again the next time we're in the Hudson area! They really helped us bring our vision to life, and for that we are eternally grateful!

Kate and her team were by far the greatest investment we made for our wedding day. A Charmed Affair was recommended to me by my venue as they have worked with her many times. Kate talked to me well over two years before my big day and gave me a run-down of all she offers and how it would all work. She was so fun, and so genuinely kind, nice to talk to, and shared everything honestly and in great detail. I was sold IMMEDIATELY! If not for her and her personality - she comes with literally ALL the decor you will ever need for a fee for a U-HAUL rental and when I tell you her connections, advice, and her items she has.. priceless. We felt that all she offered helped us save so much both financially and saved us so much stress! Plus, she's an incredibly loved vendor so your other vendors are happy you have her. She answered ALL my questions (all the time), she had everything planned down to the MINUTE, and our venue looked absolutely stunning. There truly are no words for how amazing her and her entire team were that day. She spoke to all my vendors, helped me talk through the whole day, met me the day before, cleaned everything, and I wasn't asked a single question all day. When I saw all that she had to do to make the wedding day run as smooth as it did, we were even more happy we had her and her team there! It really did save us so much time, energy and stress- and from a person who knows all the things when it comes to weddings. The day of she solved any and all last minute issues whether big or small, or even if she was trying to take a break and eat. She is just the sweetest person, and I wish her and her team nothing but the best because they truly deserve it.

When it comes to wedding planners there are two simple rules:

2. You need Kate and the ‘A Charmed Affair’ team!!!!

As soon as we found our venue, we got the highest of recommendations from the venue owners at Gather Greene to work with Kate.

From the moment we had our first call with her, it felt like we had known her for years. Kate is so friendly, enthusiastic, trustworthy, fun, and an all around talented professional. She doesn’t just plan weddings - she puts herself and team at the center of your universe, listens to what your vision is, and then absolutely SURPASSES your wildest dreams.

For the year that we worked with Kate, she literally made us feel like we were the ONLY wedding she had - got a question? Boom, she answered. Have a problem? Shazam, fixed and then some. Have some idea but not really sure? LET HER WORK HER MAGIC I PROMISE YOU! Seriously, the things that come up and have to be thought through while planning a wedding…you simply can’t and shouldn’t try to solve it yourself because Kate truly is an EXPERT at this. She LOVES LOVE and will put her everything into making sure that your love is cherished and celebrated in a way that will leave an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of all those who witness it.

In the moments leading up to a wedding, it’s inevitable that something will go wrong - and when it does, you NEED Kate to take the reins, and solution with tenacity, grace, and sheer brilliance. Guests getting kicked out of their hotel? She finds a new one, even in an area that’s known to not have hotels or offer blocks of rooms. Coach buses experiencing suspicious levels of mechanical failure and need to cancel the week of? She’ll make sure your guests get transported there and that @$$es are in seats, all with extra time to spare before the start of the ceremony.

Wedding week/day of - we were AMAZED at everything she and her team did for us - working around the clock to ensure our big day (and really the full weekend) was absolutely perfect. All of our guests commented on what a well organized machine the planning team was - from golf carting guests to staying in lockstep with all the vendors to ensure timely transitions, answering guests’ questions (no matter how insane or silly), to making sure that by the time we were there, we had NOTHING to do but just ENJOY and look around in awe.

If this review sounds like a bunch of rambling, well…fair enough. We have been spending the last few weeks since getting married thinking about how much we owe it to Kate and team for all that they did for us to ensure that our wedding weekend was beyond magical…and despite all these words here, there truly aren’t enough to express our gratitude and amazement for this incredible team. Kate, we simply cannot thank you enough for everything! I’m so glad we chose you and your team, and we will never forget all that you did for us to make our dreams come true and then some. You are simply beyond the best!

Kate is incredible!

Highly recommend A Charmed Affair! Kate was our day of wedding planner and she made our wedding day truly magical. Leading up to the day, Kate was very accessible via phone and email, answering all of our questions, making recommendations and coordinating all of our vendors and day of festivities. Our wedding was a destination wedding and we wanted to have a bunch of accessories and a lounge for our guests. Kate had a HUGE list of items that we could use and it made such a difference in planning. The final product of staging for our wedding was exactly what we had hoped for.

One of our vendors did not show the day of our wedding (a vendor we had booked) and Kate and her team were amazing at coordinating a solution. She ensured that our guests were taken care of and timeline for the day was adjusted to accommodate. We can’t imagine not having Kate there to manage all the details, so we could be present and love our wedding day as much as we did. A Charmed Affair is an absolute dream team

When planning our wedding, everyone said to prepare for at least three things to go wrong on the big day, just to manage stress levels. But none of those people had Kate and her team coordinating their weddings! We are SO lucky to say that everything went perfectly, all because of A Charmed Affair.

We planned our wedding at The Barn at Liberty Farms without much knowledge of the vendors in the area. Kate helpfully recommended local vendors, gave us recommendations about what we could do on our own, and helped us make tedious decisions much easier. She simplified parts of planning we didn't even KNOW we had to think about. Even though we didn't meet in person until the day of the wedding (we don't live in the area) we felt like she really saw us, our vision, and how to make our wedding feel true to our relationship. Kate and the team are SO professional, they are experts in their craft, and they're generous with their time, knowledge, and resources. I was excited at the end of the night to see them eating a candy I love, and they even offered for me to take the rest home - their generosity does not end. I truly can't imagine how we would have pulled together our wedding without Kate, and would recommend her and A Charmed Affair to everyone.

Amazing Planner!

I cannot recommend Kate and her team enough. We could not be more thankful for: every single of the hundreds of emails, every single thoughtful response and detail she executed, every chaotic hour she dealt with (and soooo so many things behind the scenes that I had/ still have no idea about) on our wedding day....she even solved a seating chart/place card snafu in seconds that I was privately panicking about. She was always smiling and handling every question or request from us with so much patience and cheer. She made our dream wedding day come true and we are forever and ever grateful. She is truly talented at her craft and we couldn't have executed this day without her.

Kate and her team are the absolute best in the business. From start to finish, Kate was incredibly helpful with booking vendors, coordinating timelines and ensuring a smooth run of show. I get emotional thinking about working with Kate because she took such incredible care of us - she truly made us feel like the most special people on a very important day. We are SO grateful for Kate and the Charmed Affair team! Kate's relaxed, but extremely on the ball, demeanor was a calming presence leading up to and on our Wedding day. Her openness to hearing our questions and concerns, not matter how "silly" we thought they may be, was extremely reassuring that we'd chosen the right coordinator! A wonderful experience

Don’t sleep on a wedding planner. Kate had planned my sisters wedding in 2019 and I knew once I got engaged I HAD to have Kate help me with my wedding. Not only is Kate amazing to work with, her staff is just as amazing. Kate has become a part of our family and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

Dream planner for a dream wedding!

Kate and her team are without a doubt the kindest, most professional, most on point, least fussy, most amazing wedding planning ever. She made us feel taken care of, even outside of the context of what we had technically hired her for. Off the bat, she was extremely easy going, reassuring, and knowledgeable in a way that made us feel heard, understood, and like we were in the best of hands. Which we were!

All our vendors came through Kate - and they're all a reflection of the incredible person and planner that she is - kind, thoughtful, and willing to go above and beyond because they love what they do.

We will never forget our experience working with Kate. So much so that we told her at the end of our wedding that she was stuck with us.

If you're getting married in the Hudson area - or honestly any area - she is a true gem of a human and extremely talented at what she does.

We loved working with Kate!

Kate was such an amazing wedding coordinator. She really shines in the month and weeks leading up to the event with the small details - coordinating with vendors, bringing your design vision to life, calming you down when you start to sweat the details. We realized about a month out that one of our shuttles was too large for the venue and we no longer needed that many seats. There were no smaller shuttles available that late into planning, but she was able to reach out to her connections and ask another couple to swap with us. I couldn't believe it! We also engaged Kate to help us select a florist and execute on our design. We only had one call with the florist and some emails, so on the day of I wondered if our vision would be represented. It was SO MUCH better than I'd anticipated. It shows how well Kate understood what we envisioned and translated that behind the scenes without our needing to get involved. She had such a great attitude about everything, was so professional. At the end of the night, I was sad to say goodbye - I want her around for every event I plan!

Amazing, thoughtful, professional planner!

Kate is an extraordinary wedding planner - we recommend her so highly! My husband and I got married at The BARN at Liberty Farms, and she made our day magical. We worked with Kate as a partial planner, and she went above and beyond to be a sounding board for us in the year plus leading up to our wedding. Kate knows Liberty Farms like the back of her hand, and so having her both as a thought partner in planning as well as there on the actual wedding weekend to make sure everything went completely flawlessly without us having to think about anything was amazing. We are so appreciative of her aesthetic vision, hyper-competence at all things logistics and run-of-show, and down to earth and honest attitude. She also has a huge inventory of props and touches for the day from seating card holders to a popcorn machine to lounge furniture and she basically has a catalogue that couples can select from and she'll bring over as much as she can hold in a trailer and just charges for the cost of the trailer. This is a HUGE perk and saves a ton on extras to buy/rent for the day - we had a gorgeous full lounge set up (which our older guests in particular really appreciated!), photo booth backdrops, a popcorn machine, candles, and so much more from her. We are so grateful to Kate for pulling off the most perfect wedding weekend!!

I made an instant connection with Kate from the very first conversation we had. She immediately instilled confidence and was clearly a genuine, kind-hearted soul (what a bonus for being amazing at what she does). Kate is an absolute ROCKSTAR who we will forever be indebted to. Would be lost without them!!!

I first reached out to Kate in 2019 when I knew I wanted my wedding in Hudson, NY and I was going to need someone hands on who was familiar with the area, vendors, etc. as I am from Long Island.
We set up our first phone meeting where Kate took the time to get to know us as a couple and what made our story different (High School Sweethearts who took a wrong turn and wound up back in each other's arms after 7 years apart...I mean Hallmark could pick us up, am I right??).
We knew after just moments on the phone with Kate that we were in good hands. It was one of the quickest decisions we made in terms of booking vendors for our wedding. Kate was there to answer any question at any time and trust me I emailed her A LOT!!! I was very fortunate that when we made the decision to postpone our big wedding due to the Covid-19 Pandemic that every single one of our vendors was available- but Kate had a list of backups ready to go just in case.
About 8 weeks out we got on the phone with Kate to go over any pending items, agenda, timeline, etc. I felt so behind with so much left to do and Kate assured me we were right on track and after getting off that call I felt so relieved that Kate was the one holding the reigns.
We met with Kate the evening before the wedding to go over the timeline and lineups for the day. We dropped off any special decor we had planned for and confirmed our vision. Our wedding day was a DREAM! We had waited so long for this day, in so many ways, and I wish I could live it over and over again. The use of the horse stalls at our venue were absolute perfection, our lounge was a big hit with our friends, we found some of the adults lingering around the kids room playing video games, and the non-traditional photobooth with the backdrop and instax cameras was just everything we could have imagined. We loved that our guests had the freedom to bring the cameras to the dance floor and take pictures throughout the evening that we now have in a photobook on our hallway table when you enter our home!
I am very Type A and like to be in control of well everything, but I could not have survived this planning and making our wedding day as wonderful as it was without Kate and her team.

Fun fact- we had a golf cart to take us for pictures and the battery died on the at the top of the hilltop. My husband and I having fun with it said "ehh, let's just walk back and take advantage of the views for more photo and video". Kate's team wasted no time in figuring this out- Seth came and picked us up about half way so we didn't have to walk back and be late to our reception LOL.

Amazing!

Kate and her team pull off the impossible. Not only did the help us navigate covid times, but they turned a simple barn into a Christmas dream. It’s was exactly what I had envisioned and more! Late was always there to talk us off a ledge and guide us when we needed help. Kate has a very wide range from dark and dreamy to light and magical. She can do anything!

The best wedding planner EVER

We are high maintenance bride and family with high expectations. Kate handled us with professionalism, humor and as much attention as we needed. She exceeded our expecations on every level. She is super, super organized, a fabulous communicator and she manoevered around complicated COVID issues above and beyond. Kate handled all the vendors with a firm but friendly hand and thanks to her our event was truly flawless. We had a wedding of 160 people including a church and a venue with three different spaces on two floors. She and her team coordinated it all perfectly. She was also available pre-wedding as much as we needed her. We can't say enough about Kate and her team at Charmed Affair

Worth every penny

I cannot recommend Charmed Affair enough. Kate and her team were just absolutely incredible to work with. We hired Kate in 2019 for our 2020 wedding... you know where this is going. We postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic and as stressful and horrible as that was, Kate made the process as easy as possible given the circumstances. Her relationships with her vendors in the Upstate area really helpful to facilitate our changes. As we got closer to our new date, I got so overwhelmed over all the details but Kate brought me back down to earth and handled a lot of it. For day of... she is invaluable. Her and her team made sure everything was taken care of while we got ready and created the most beautiful decor for our Barn wedding, the venue looked absolutely incredible. They really listened to what I wanted for the day. I'm not kidding when I say it was the most beautiful space I'd ever seen. Just hire her you won't regret it.

Barn at Liberty Farms June wedding

Kate was an absolute pleasure to work with and a lifesaver on our big day. Our number 1 reason for picking Kate was because she had a huge supply of furniture and decorations that we wanted for our venue. But once we got talking to Kate and realized all the other little things she could help us with there was no question we’d be hiring her. She answered every question we had whenever we had it and always made time for us. The day of our wedding she handled everything perfectly and there’s not a single thing we had to worry about. When the bride forgot her custom sneakers, she wanted to change into, at the Airbnb down the road Kate sent one of her people over to go get them. Kate and her team made wedding planning, and our wedding day smooth and perfect!

Saved Our Wedding

After rescheduling our wedding and then having to find a new venue after rescheduling, Kate was probably the only reason why we had the wedding of our dreams. Not only is she able to make a venue look absolutely beautiful, she knows what she’s doing. Her and her team organized our day and everything was perfectly coordinated. I cannot recommend her enough. Do yourself a favor and hire her immediately for you wedding!

The most essential vendor was our day-of coordinator team!

Hands down the most helpful vendor I hired was Kate from A Charmed Affair. We hired her as our day-of coordinator, and she was so essential in the weeks leading up to the wedding to make sure everything came together seamlessly. She ensured my friends and family could relax and be present the day of because she and her team had it covered.

Kate made one of the mini airstreams on-site into the coolest vintage-inspired photo booth! She went above and beyond and it was such an awesome and unique moment for guests to go and take pictures. Everyone loved it!

Hiring Kate was essential in helping me pull together my 1.5 years of planning and rally all of my vendors together during the final weeks leading up to the wedding to ensure a smooth and wonderful day.

I was a bride on a budget and hesitated when deciding to budget for a day-of coordinator, but I must say Kate's services were worth every penny! Can't recommend her enough - she rocks!

Wish I could have worked with Kate

Kate was an incredible support at the beginning of Covid. We were hoping to get married upstate and Kate went out of her way to make my future mother in law feel comfortable at the venue we were hoping to book. Due to Covid, we decided to go more local and ended up not working with Kate. Though we didn't even officially work together Kate made me feel so special, she was so helpful and informative. She handled the Covid transition with grace and professionalism. I could NOT recommend Kate more for your special day. I hope one day to be able to work with her! (Maybe a no reason celebration of Covid being over party in upstate NY)

ACA takes away your stress while bringing your visions to life!

Planning my wedding was by far the most exciting and equally overwhelming period of time in my life. As a fellow wedding professional and busy Mom, I knew the only way to take away the stress was to summon the best wedding planner and designer I've ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with. I've worked with Kate and her team countless times over the years and have never witnessed her create anything sort of magical. She knows the ins and outs of the industry, she has the resources and experience to smooth out any snafu and bring any vision to life with grace, beauty and love. You can always see just how much she truly enjoys what she does and holds a special connection with the best support to all of her couples. She has a contagious smile and way with people that leave every wedding guest feeling like they just had the most amazing experience. A majority of weddings will have something go wrong or unplanned, it's just how it is! Hiring ACA will ensure that those issues are resolved as fast as possible, completely unnoticed.
My venue provided the day of coordinator, and rarely works with designers. I just knew I needed more to create the beautiful space I was dreaming of, but had no time or energy to make it happen on my own.
To say my vision was brought to life is a huge understatement. I was very vague with explaining what I wanted, as I knew she could take a small idea, run with it and make it more amazing than I could ever dream of. She has an incredible stock of decor and an impeccable taste in style and ability to match the vibe of the day and couple. The venue coordinator was totally blown away and stated that she never had seen the place look so incredible. It has been several months since my big day and my guests still rave about how beautiful everything was. Every time I look through my photos, I notice more magic and details that I missed on the big day. Every inch was thought of and perfected.
I cannot thank Kate and her team enough for taking away the most stressful part of the experience for me and creating a space that came right out of my dreams.

Un-Freaking-Real

Kate, you are a beautiful, gorgeous, shining star of a soul. Where the hell do I even start?! If you are looking to have one hell of a time, the most gorgeous day of your life, a time that not a single person will forget, a setting to make even nature weep…look no further. Kate and her team were absolutely unbelievable. From the day I emailed inquiring to the “big day” and even now, Kate and her entire team have been nothing but spectacularly amazing. Kate was my go-to throughout my entire planning process…we’re talking like almost two entire years worth of planning. School and jobs and life always seem to get in the way of things, so we had some time to figure out the nitty gritty…and she was there through all of it. The stress, the questions, the details, the more stress, obtaining information, solidifying details, helping ease the nerves…you name it. She was attentive to details, responsive to every single annoying (and sometimes what I felt was insane) question, compassionate, kind, generous, and wholeheartedly involved in the entire wedding and then some. She provided me with list after list of referrals and helped me build the best damn team around, and man, DID IT SHOW! The wedding we had was one for the books. She made our dreams come true and then somehow topped them. Every vision, every color, every vibe, every request…she made it all happen. I am so beyond grateful to have met Kate and gotten the chance to work with A Charmed Affair. They are what real life fairytales are made of. Her team was on the scene when I arrived and I seriously felt like my own personal FBI team was escorting me – every one of her teammates was a pleasure to work with and get to talk to. Seth even transported my high maintenance Aussie back to our Air BnB so we could enjoy the rest of our night without worrying about her. We cannot thank him enough for that. Kate orchestrated the entire day and night with ease and without a hitch – even with little hiccups here and there, we didn’t even bat an eyelash because she was so on top of everything. Best wedding decision you will make!

When I first began planning my wedding I truly thought I could handle it myself..... NOPE! WRONG! I cannot recommend Kate & A Charmed Affair ENOUGH!!! She was literally an angel sent from above and truly a fairy godmother during our entire wedding experience!! She was BEYOND helpful and so kind. Not only did she make sure our day went SO SMOOTH... she also was so great at recommending vendors that were AMAZING and not insanely overpriced which was what we ran into sooo many times....

Hiring Kate and her team will be the BEST money you spend on your entire wedding. I'm telling you.... HIRE HER. You will not regret it.

Great experience with A Charmed Affair

Kate Arel and her team were amazing to work with from start to finish. We selected a super DIY wedding venue that necessitated we provide EVERYTHING, and she was not at all intimidated by the undertaking at hand and inspired confidence that we could make it happen. Kate was responsive and helpful from day one, she remained calm and collected even when we had issues with our venue and surprises with our guest count, and helped keep us positive in the more challenging moments. She is easy to work with, organized and professional and quite literally pulled off our wedding without a hitch. She gave us the best vendor recommendations, all of which we were impressed and happy with. Kate seemed to understand exactly what we were envisioning. We'll never forget walking up to the ceremony site after our first look, and being astounded at how beautiful it was. It was exactly what we had hoped for, but even better! Hiring Kate Is The Best Decision You Will Make

Let us just start off with... we honestly do not think we could of had the wedding we wanted without Kate. She was so much more than just a day-of coordinator. She was with us through every important decision throughout the entire planning phase from coordination with our caterer, to design element decisions, to reaching out to our venue to see what certain protocols were, helping us choose a rehearsal dinner venue. You name it!! We knew we did not want a traditional wedding and Kate was a huge supporter-- but she also knew from her experience what was going to work and what ideas needed to be reconfigured slightly in order to work.

Kate and her team are priceless.

Oh my goodness, where do I begin? Our wedding basically could not have happened without Kate and her team. My husband and I are a pretty organized duo, but we knew we wanted someone to take the reigns for us as we got closer to our wedding so we could relax and absorb everything. We hired Kate and A Charmed Affair as our month of coordination team. EVERYONE SHOULD DO THIS, if not hire her as your full time planner. When my husband and I unexpectedly lost our initial venue due to some legal issues the property was having 6 months before our wedding, Kate swooped in and sent us a list of all venues that still had our date available as well as venues with dates close to our date within basically a day. In less than a week, we were visiting our new venue (which we loved so much we couldn't believe it!). Kate is so honest, responsive, sweet, and also tough when you need her to be (especially with any vendors who need a little push :) ). Honestly, amazing is not a good enough word to describe her. Kate also sent a team the day of who knew every detail of what we wanted and executed it perfectly; they were calm, organized, and it made us so relaxed the whole day. They also brought so many amazing decor items with them as well, and had a great eye of where to put them to enhance what we had already planned, so our wedding was full of these amazing surprise touches that we absolutely LOVED. Basically... GO. HIRE. KATE. NOW. She is an incredible professional and the best decision my husband and I made when planning our wedding (aside from marrying each other!).

Do yourself a favor and hire A Charmed Affair

Kate and her team literally MADE our wedding. I got married at my sister's home in upstate NY, a non-event property with lots of helping hands, but no expertise, and so there was a lot of planning to be done. Kate guided us through literally everything, from vendors and timeline to how much electricity to run to the field to how many garbage cans we would need! She even helped manage my mom when I told her my grand plan to grow my own flowers and hire a pizza truck for catering. My friends and family joked about how relaxed I was through the planning process and it was because I knew I had the best advice available. I came up with a few ideas that I ran by Kate and she executed every single one of them without breaking a sweat (Champagne wall - C'mon!!). It was a beautiful, breathtaking day with literally every detail accounted for. We've gotten multiple reports from guests that this was the "Best Wedding Ever" and that's a testament to Kate and team's hard work. It was a perfect day that felt very us, but better then we could have ever pulled off on our own. I'm getting teary-eyed just thinking about it now.

Hire Kate so you can relax knowing your wedding is in great hands!

Kate and her team are phenomenal and we cannot recommend them enough. Kate served as our day-of coordinator, which in reality meant that she provided support in the months leading up to our wedding, giving vendor recommendations and communicating with everyone we hired. We got married in a remote location and brought in everything but Kate was unfazed. In addition to her support in the lead up and her flawless coordination of the day, her team also did all of the flowers and set up for our tables at the reception and at the cocktail hour along with all of the lighting in our tent. If you are getting married in the Hudson Valley/Catskills do yourself a favor and hire Kate!

Kate is the best!

My husband and I worked with Kate to plan our summer wedding in the Hudson Valley and working with Kate was the best decision we made throughout the whole process. Kate from Charmed Affair was an absolute pleasure to work with and a total pro. She understood exactly the type of wedding we wanted, and also understood that we had extremely busy work and travel scheduled. She helped us manage, coordinate and keep all of the various partners (e.g., venue, caterer, DJ, lighting, liquor, florist, etc.) on schedule and paid on time. Best wedding coordinator!

We hired Kate for her day-of coordination and this was the best decision we made for our wedding day. Not only is her price competitive (actually way better than some others we looked into) but she also provides feedback and answers all your questions the months and year leading up to your wedding. That way, when the day comes, it’s the best it could be, since she provided input throughout the process. We hosted our wedding at my parents’ house, and it was very busy leading up to the wedding. As soon as Kate and her team arrived, my Mom was able to hand off the reins and enjoy the day with friends and family - exactly what we wanted! Kate handled weather concerns, liquor shortages, and I’m sure many other hiccups - and as the bride and groom we were completely unaware. Along with her wonderful advice, coordination, and team, you also get access to many of her props and wedding decor items - in the long run saving you time and money. Do yourself a favor and hire Kate and her fantastic team!

Great Value, Flawless Execution

Simply put - WE LOVE KATE! She is incredibly talented and we could not have pulled off our wedding without her. Her team was professional and cordial and we could not have been happier.
Once we choose The BARN at Liberty Farms, a bare venue, as the site of our wedding, we knew we were going to need a lot of help setting everything up. Kate was indispensable in almost every aspect of our planning which allowed us to create personal and bespoke vision for our special day. The staging she helped coordinate was spectacular and she executed our vision perfectly.
Since we were coming from several hours south of the venue, it was exceedingly helpful to have someone who was familiar with the area, but we have no doubt Kate would excel no matter where your wedding is held.
Kate was always available to answer any questions and give valuable feedback throughout the entire process as soon as we engaged her. For the amount of hands-on support and other services she provides, she was an absolute steal at her rate and epitomized great value and service.
On the day of the wedding, we took immense comfort in Kate's presence and she definitely helped make sure everything ran smoothly so that we could focus on enjoying ourselves (and not freaking out). The A Charmed Affair staff coordinated seamlessly with our other vendors and the ceremony and reception were executed flawlessly.
Engaging Kate gave us access to a wealth of additional accessories and inspiration for the style and decor of the interior of the venue. Kate is a warm and lovely person and we highly recommend her and the rest of the staff of A Charmed Affair. Hiring her is the best decision you will make - Kate we love you!!!

Kate is a life-saver who made our wedding possible. She was informative and reassuring, and she worked with us the whole way through. The BEST decision for wedding planning you'll ever Make!!

If you're like me (deer in headlights) when you start to plan for your non conventional wedding You need Kate! We planned our wedding from a distance so I asked a million flustered questions from which vendors she recommended to figuring out the aesthetic details of how we wanted our day to feel and flow. Every person she recommended to us was phenomenal! she basically took what she knew about us from talking on the phone and perfect matched us to a photographer and DJ. She was so organized and easy to work with over email. I was able to take a deep breath and relax with her at the helm! And as is life, our plan was slightly altered by an early November snow storm. Kate and team quickly made plans B C and D and the night went on without a hitch! We couldn't have been happier.

We had a general vision for design, but Kate really took what we pictured above and beyond and made it 10x more magical then we dreamed! We are still getting complements on our personalized hay lounge and people asking for design tips from the formal lounge area. The lighting and table setting were perfectly done. Kate knew just what to use from her large stash of wedding swag to fit with the decor and enhance the experience for us and all our quests. It was so special I'm still reveling!

The absolute best team!

I would have never survived the wedding planning process without Kate!!! I searched high and low for the right wedding planner and I can say with 100% certainty that Kate is one of a kind and any couple would be incredibly lucky to have her on their team! I had phone calls with several other wedding planners who charged for every last minute of contact or refused to offer any help unless they were charging you down to the last penny. From the start Kate wanted to just make sure that she made the planning process easier for me and her number one goal was helping me have the wedding of my dreams rather than just looking at me as another customer who was paying for select services. She took my calls no matter what time of day it was or if I had spent the prior 3 days on the phone with her already, she answered all my emails within hours and she simply never hesitated when I asked for her help. Her team helped put together the rest of my flowers when I was rushed for time the day before the wedding and made sure all the details were sorted out, which included getting the decorative mason jars onto all the church pews and then transported to the reception and placed in the requested spots. I can say with complete confidence that anyone who hires Kate and her team will be amazed with their services and treated with the most care!

Hiring Kate and her team to coordinate and plan our wedding was one the best decisions we've ever made. On our wedding day, I was expecting guests to come up to us and compliment the usual--food, music, flowers, etc., but what was most surprising and satisfying was the number of people who said, "this is the one of the best executed weddings I've ever been to." And it was true! Everything went off without a hitch. Everything was perfect. Kate made herself available to answer my extremely long, detailed and manic emails for over a year. She gave the best vendor recommendations and the greatest advice. When I emailed her 48 hours before the wedding with an insane escort card idea, she didn't hesitate to jump on it. I'm not entirely sure she got any sleep, but the end result was the perfect encapsulation of my wedding vision and more. When the bridal party and I walked into the venue before everyone got there, I couldn't believe all the incredible extra details Kate put together. She took all of my vague and sometimes inconsistent ideas and turned it into the greatest time of our lives. I can't honesty think of a single thing that went wrong that day. If you're on the fence, don't be. The service that Kate and her team delivered went beyond any expectation I had.

Kate was incredibly easy to work with and really helped us in the planning and prep phase to keep on top of everything as the months went on. She had fantastic recommendations for us from DJ to furniture rental companies, and beyond. Her approach is very relaxed and she is able to easily understand the vision of her clients to help bring them to life.

On the day of, we experienced weather that caused our outdoor wedding to need shifting. Kate and her team weren't flustered by this and seamlessly made the transitions to accommodate the weather.

Kate is the absolute best and helped make our dream wedding come true. She goes above and beyond and does so for a fair and reasonable rate. We became completely overwhelmed and needed help with vendors, plannIng our DIY rehearsal dinner, and a few other things last minute. Kate could have realized we were desperate for help and charged something ridiculous (like our florist did when we needed last minute flowers for the brides hair), but instead she jumped to help and did so for a fair price (we originally only signed up for dayvof coordination). While we were charged for linens like you would expect, Kate brought a ton of her own stuff to decorate including a custom table she made for our lounge and large candles that matched our theme, all free of charge. She's laid back, fun, but also isn't scared to lay down the law to any vendors at your request. I'd highly recommend Kate and her team to anyone. It was her first wedding at our venue and she nailed it so don't worry if she hasn't done a wedding at your venue. Thanks again Kate!

Easy. That is the best way to put our experience with Kate and her staff and A Charmed Affair.

She has extensive knowledge of vendors in and around the Hudson Valley, and was so helpful throughout the whole wedding process. Never pushy, and always had recommendations on how to shrink the budget. We unfortunately had a bad experience with out first planner, but if we would do it all over again, we would have picked Kate from the start. She was easily the best decision we made... aside from getting married of course ;-) Her staff was professional, attentive, and helped when we had a few issues the day of, and Kate even helped decorate our venue with us.

If you're looking for someone to help with your special day, from a little to a lot, A Charmed Affair will be your best choice. We cannot say enough good things about them. You will not be disappointed!

Kate was incredible! The wedding was perfect and everything we wanted it to be and it was because of her. She made sure everything ran smoothly from the months of planning through the event itself. We never had to worry about anything, and if there were any hiccups on the day-of, we didn't know about them.

We definitely had a specific vision for what we wanted and Kate delivered 10-fold. Not only did she make sure our every whim was met, but she went above and beyond with some amazing creative suggestions, and in the end everything came together perfectly.

Her warm, sunny attitude and genuine excitement every time we spoke/saw each other made working together such a pleasure. My mom referred to her many times as the mayor of our wedding village. (And it's true!) Kate is the best, and I would get married again just to hang out with her more.

It would be impossible for me to say enough about A Charmed Affair and Kate Arel. From even our initial chat with her, she managed to embody a combination of chill, creative, good-humored, and detail-oriented that I didn't know was possible in a human. She proved her worth over and over again. When we had trouble with a caterer, she was immediately there with high-quality, budget-friendly suggestions. When I was unnecessarily anxious about decor, she helped us craft a strategy. When we told her we wanted a curtain of lights, she said, "Sounds like fun!" and made it happen. Her staff was really great, too...and she made the wedding day run completely seamlessly. My mom could not stop singing her praises! What I'm trying to tell you is that I really feel like hiring her was the best decision we made. She'd be a bargain at twice the price...and she's just such a lovely person.

Is it coincidence that "Kate" rhymes with "great"? Well...probably. But at our wedding she really was. Very knowledgeable and calm within the wedding whirlwind. Our main area that we needed help was logistics and "what do we do?" - I can't rave enough about how much she helped. Members of her crew were there all weekend working. Really responsive to all of our questions during the weeks/months leading up to the wedding. Synopsis : YAY.

Kate and her staff at a Charmed Affair were the best decision I made for my wedding besides picking my groom! Kate was there with me every step of my wedding planning, giving me advice when asked and saving me hours of research with her thorough knowledge of wedding planning. During my wedding she handled everything seamlessly and with so much care I was able to enjoy my day without any worries! I can not say enough good things about her - if you are getting married in her area do yourself a favor and hire A Charmed Affair as your wedding coordinator / planner.

There are no words to describe how amazing Kate and her team were. I can't even imagine a wedding without her. We spoke to so many wedding planners before Kate that just stressed us out. Kate made us feel like everything we wanted was possible, easy even. She was so so responsive, very affordable, and just so nice and friendly and easy to talk to and hard working. On the day of the wedding, she was a life saver, and her whole team was as nice as she is. I really can't say enough. You won't find a better wedding planner than Kate.

Kate is a total pro. We hired her as our month of coordinator and she pulled everything together seamlessly. Plus she added several charming details that we hadn't thought of. Her skill at her job allowed us to focus on enjoying the day, which we did, immensely. We are very grateful!

Kate did an amazing job of organizing all the details for our wedding day! She beautifully managed all the vendor relationships and took on so many things that would've otherwise stressed us out. I'd recommend her to anyone considering an upstate wedding.

Working with Kate and team was a dream!! Both the ceremony and reception were outdoors (and 1/4 apart with a parade and lemonade stand in between) and they handled the logistics seamlessly - everything from set up, rain contingency plans and magically having the rain storms just sneak by us. It was great having Kate coordinate with all of the vendors and running the day for us. She had our back at all times but yet stayed under the radar. Her team, in particular Seth, also were awesome. Sides of the tent mysteriously were up when needed and then down once the weather cleared without anyone noticing. And the extra lights on the dance floor were great too! Thanks to Kate and team we were able to enjoy every moment of a truly magical day. We cannot thank them enough!!!

Kate goes above and beyond for her clients. My husband and I got married at the Senate Garage in Kingston, NY at the end of May but we started speaking with Kate pretty much the day after we booked the venue in January. From the beginning she tells you she doesn't really believe in "day-of" coordination because there's really so much more to a wedding then showing up on the day of. You get a feel for Kate's contagious energy from the first conversation you have with her. She really stepped up to the plate for all aspects of our wedding between coordinating with ALL of our vendors, the venue, the caterer, etc. to literally setting up our rentals/tables/chairs on the day of our wedding. Some vendors can be tough to deal with or hard to get into contact with but Kate was always able to seamlessly deal with everyone. There was never a question too small for her to answer. Anything we asked her for help with was always done to perfection. Our wedding day really went flawlessly and that was owed in very large part to Kate (and her team). I cannot say enough good words about Kate and I hope that anyone looking for a competent, caring, organized, on-top-of-her-game coordinator in the Hudson Valley/Catskills area hires Kate Arel!

I realized my "DIY" wedding in a barn in upstate NY wasn't as DIY as I thought - I knew I needed a planner. Kate went ABOVE AND BEYOND for me. She is calm, patient, giving and knowledgable. I thought I had all the details organized but Kate gave me suggestions I would have never thought of. I dont even know where to begin. I will forever be greatful for her help and guidance. She is a true professional and loves what she does. She should - she's the best. The planning process went swimmingly all b/c Kate is detailed and organized. As a human being, Kate is such a special person. We have become friends through this crazy process and I value her friendship tremendously.

Day of, Kate and her team came early - prepped, gathered, organized, ran the show. I didnt have to worry one bit. I knew with her attention to detail the wedding would be a huge success. 59 people including one crazy bride, 5 kids, 1 dog -- all had a great time, thanks to Kate.

Kate and her team at A Charmed Affair are an absolute dream. Kate is without a doubt the most talented, attentive, creative, and caring wedding coordinator in the entire Hudson Valley, if not the state of New York. The superhuman effort she puts forth to help ensure a smooth execution of all your wedding day hopes and dreams will leave you speechless. And her dedication to helping plan out every aspect of your big event is only outdone by her exhaustive knowledge of all the ins and outs of planning a wedding and working with all your various vendors. We can honestly say there is absolutely zero chance we would have been able to pull off our wedding weekend the way we did without Kate working behind the scenes, breaking her back month after month to make sure we walked away ecstatic. She is also an incredible problem solver who gets on top of any issues that might pop up without delay and solves them creatively in a way that is always friendly to your budget. Frankly, Kate and A Charmed Affair are at the pinnacle of the pyramid as far as Wedding Coordinators go. You would honestly be making an enormous mistake in hiring anyone else to help cultivate and execute your big day.

Actually the best decision we made during our wedding process. We planned our wedding in 3 short months and couldn't have asked for better service, commitment, communication and passionate attention to detail. Kate & team really went above and beyond with their guidance, problem solving (we had rain day-of) and professionalism. We didn't feel like we had hired help. We felt cared about during our short planning cycle. Kate did not lead us astray and I would highly recommend her for anyone. Whether you want to be involved or not, Kate executes a vision that is cohesive and stress-free. Kate & team worked through the elements of our rainy big day and re-organized the flow (of course running it by her type A bride). I never doubted her talents for a moment and I am so appreciative to her for her organization, communication with all our vendors leading up & on the big day, and her friendship. We felt as though we truly made some great friends through the short process. Kate has a thorough and reputable list of vendors she prefers to work with and she knows her stuff. Don't doubt anything that comes from her. She's a true talent and I wish I could force everyone to work with her, she's that freaking fantastic! Thank you for making our wedding day truly a magic moment in time. We are eternally grateful for crossing paths with you!

Kate was initially our day of coordinator, but she ended being so much more. If you want a wedding planner who makes you feel calm and confident, Kate is the right person to work with! Beyond providing us with countless recommendations and guidance, Kate also helped with styling by providing all of our lighting, custom signage (in the font From our wedding invitations), and overall decor. Kate is also an excellent problem solver and calm under pressure. When it turned out that our wedding day was going to be 90 degrees, Kate devised an awesome "cooling lounge" where guests could literally and figuratively chill out. Bottom line, my husband and I say that Kate was our best wedding decision besides marrying one another.

Honestly I couldn't have imagined a better experience ! Kate and her staff were beyond helpful... There are not enough words to describe how thankful and completely in awe I am with the help I received and the work and true dedication that was done . I currently live in NC and I knew planning a wedding from NC was going to be super hard .. however Kate answered every ridiculous question I had .. me and my father'a questions with such detail ... my day was incredible because of her and her staff ..
