My husband and I celebrated our wedding at 28 event space and it was PERFECT! Such an incredible and beautiful space. McKenzie and Taylor were amazing to work with and quickly answered all our questions.
We booked the event space with help from our planner, who we later had some issues with, and 28 Event Space did an amazing job helping us find a new planner and stepping in to reassure us that our day would still be perfect!
Our guests loved the gorgeous, big space. The surrounding parking was perfect. I had a blast hanging with my friends and getting ready in the huge bridal suite! The bar tenders were also absolutely incredible - fast, friendly, and made great drinks.
The space makes it easy for vendors to load up everything that’s needed, with big garage doors and loading spaces. The lighting is also awesome!
The only change I think I’d make to the space is not staying there overnight after our event. Due to the surrounding area having other event spaces and bars, it was very very loud until about 3:30 am in the couples’ suite and we didn’t sleep really at all. This was NOT the venue’s fault at all! We’re just from the suburbs and not used to night life :) we do not blame them at all for the noise and should have known ourselves better!
I would 1000% recommend 28 event space!

My husband and I got married on June 14, 2019 and had our reception in the Kansas City Room. When we visited back in July, this was ranked the top in both of our lists. The room is breathtaking! Not only is it big and perfect to accommodate any number of guests (we had 250), but the mural of the skyline is just so different and unique than any other venue! It was fun for our guests and is a great way to remember 28 Event Space! The staff is extremely accommodating. I felt Maura was extremely personable, even calming when I was stress crying (LOL- thank you!). Everything we had talked about and planned was perfect and went smoothly! The tables arrangements and decor looked amazing! We used their suggested DJ package, Icon Event Space. My parents, husband and I are so glad we picked this beautiful spot. Our guests had a blast, as did we! Everyone had such nice things to say! The only complaint we have is it was a little warm in the room before we opened the garage doors. We understand though because what room wouldn’t be with 250 people? Ha! However, it was totally OK! We highly recommend this space! Thank you, again!!!!

We looked at so many venues and from day one this was our first choice. I loved that it’s all there set up for you and you as the bride dont have to worry about set up and tear down! All I had to do was set up my centerpieces and the natural beauty of the Evenf Space did the rest! Besides the event space being perfect they offer a loft area in the back that was the coolest spot to get ready! I just loved that we could all be at the same place and not worry about driving around trying to get to certain places at certain times. There are also a lot of cool photo options around the venue which made our photo session super simple and fast! The staff was definitely top notch, very professional and stepped in to help even when the issues were outside of their scope. I truly cannot say enough great things about this place! I wish I could do it all over again!!!

We rented 28 Event Space-Kansas City room on 02/03/18 for a wedding reception and our event was everything we expected and more. The staff from the planning stage to the day of were professional, accommodating and responsive. We paid for the basic package but they treated us as if we went “all out”. We did not serve alcohol but the bartender kept the soda, coffee and water filled to our expectation. Parking attendants were awesome as well. Our day of coordinator was one step ahead of us on things we didn’t think of in advance. Everything went so well I, as the mother of the bride, was able to relax and enjoy the event. For that I’m am so thankful!

We were the 1st wedding in 28 event space new venue "The Station" and it was amazing! Beautiful space, wonderful staff and over all a great experience. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue.

Honestly words can not express how much I love this venue. It is absolutely stunning and really doesn't require a whole lot of decorating because of how incredible the inside space is. Our pictures look amazing with the glowing lights that hang down from the ceiling. So many of my guests came up to me that night saying how much they loved the venue. It has a really cool outdoor space where the non-dancers were able to relax and have fun as well. Sylvia and Karly were a dream team. They answered all my silly questions leading up to the big day and were awesome the day of in making it look incredible. Everyone said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and I seriously think the event space was a huge part of it!

I would definitely recommend 28 Event Space to any bride. My husband and I were looking for a venue where we could have both our ceremony and reception in the same place. It is also nice that 28 Event Space lets you choose your own caterer and bring in your own alcohol. A lot of the venues we looked at had in-house caterers you had to use and you were required to purchase the alcohol through them. Our package included bartenders, but we were able to get the alcohol through Top-Shelf liquor at a great price, and when we didn't use it all, they bought it back from us. (Big $ saver) Everything was so flexible, it was amazing. We couldn't have found a more convenient venue. We chose a package that was very reasonably priced that let us use the entire venue (complete with "bridal suite" and "groom's cave"). With our package we also got day of coordination, unlimited use of the photo booth, bartenders, party bus, limo, reception set up and tear down, patio heaters, and we got to stay the night in the bridal suite. My bridesmaids and I were able to get ready in the bridal suite (which has so many photo ops) while my husband and the groomsmen hung out in the groom's suite. My bridesmaids and I had stayed the night at a hotel the night before and 28 was able to pick us up from the hotel in their party bus and take us to the venue to continue getting ready. We used the party bus and limo to drive around and take pictures before the ceremony. The ceremony went smoothly. If you get day of coordination, 28 will contact your vendors the week of the wedding and confirm/arrange what time they will be arriving. It was a relief not to have to do that the week of the wedding when I was already stressing out over other things. We got compliments from guests on the convenience and how amazing the venue looked! It really speaks for itself. Maura and Renee were amazing throughout the entire process. It's so unique and I would choose 28 Event Space over and over again without hesitation.

This space is perfection! It is incredibly unique, there is nothing like it in the Kansas City area. Everything about this space was fantastic, from the layout and amenities to the amazing coordination staff, I could not have had a more perfect venue to celebrate the best day of my life. Not only did we have our reception at the venue but we also had our ceremony and our rehearsal dinner and Maura and Renee took all the stress out of planning all of it. They know exactly what to do to make your day run as smoothly as possible, which is critical for your wedding day sanity. They are both so sweet and great to be around (another wedding day life saver.) Every single one of my guests commented on how beautiful the space was, how easy and close the parking is (sounds weird but at other weddings it can be a real pain), and how friendly the staff was. On the night before the wedding I stayed in the Bridal Suite space with all of my bridesmaids and we had such a fun time. We watched movies, drank wine, and chatted and it was so nice and so comfortable to be in the space where we were going to be all weekend. We didn't have to worry about waking up and rushing to another hotel, or rushing to a salon to get ready. We woke up and walked to the Roasterie for some coffee and we were able to walk right back to get ready for the big day- it was so relaxing! My husband and all of his groomsmen arrived later in the day, and they were able to watch sports and get ready in grooms quarters and we didn't have to worry about waiting to anyone to arrive or having to run from place to place. The whole time we were getting ready Maura or Renee would be setting up our space and making sure everything was perfect. We got to spend the whole day enjoying our time with our loved ones, instead of running around and I cannot tell you how much that keeps your mind at ease and keeps all the stress away. The girls helped the ceremony go perfectly and the reception was flawless.

My husband and I were recently married at 28 Event Space and it was a WONDERFUL experience! Renee and Maura were so incredibly helpful from the moment we booked the venue all the way through our reception. They literally think of everything and they make sure they have every detail covered so you don’t have to worry about anything on your wedding day. They are both so organized and responsive and they made the entire process so easy for us. They took care of coordinating the arrival times with all of our vendors and just handled all of the last minute details. We rented out both loft spaces as well as the party bus to transport us off-site for our wedding photos. My husband’s parents stayed in the larger loft space Thursday and Friday night and they loved it. We had the best time getting ready in the gorgeous bridal suite the day of the wedding and the guys had a great time getting ready in the man cave as well. There is so much space for everyone that you have plenty of room for all the people coming in and out all day. Having everyone getting ready in one place made the whole day less stressful and when it was time to take our photos, we all loaded up on the bus and left, so easy! We had both our ceremony and reception there too and all our guests raved about how beautiful everything was! This is just an incredible and fun venue that has so many amenities you won’t find anywhere else! Thank you guys SO much for everything. You helped make our wedding day perfect in every way and we are so grateful to you both!

Working with 28 Event Space was a great experience and I couldn't imagine having my wedding anywhere else! The space is beautiful and very spacious. The package additions with transportation, photo booth, and the conjoined sleeping rooms made it very reasonable and convenient as well. Maura & Renee were great during the planning process. They are very responsive and organized, making sure they know every detail so that they can set everything up perfectly. My mind was at ease knowing that they had everything under control. The reception was amazing and everyone is still talking about how beautiful it was! Thank you so much to 28 Event Space for making our special day so memorable!

My husband and I were married at 28 Event Space in downtown Kansas City. This event space was literally a dream come true! On the day of the wedding, my bridesmaids and I had the best time getting ready in the spacious, well decorated and functional bridal suite. I cant wait to see the getting ready pictures! The guys enjoyed relaxing and hanging out in the man cave before the ceremony also. When it was "GO TIME" the event coordinators Renee and Maura took the lead and made sure that the ceremony flowed perfectly! After the ceremony, the event staff pulled the curtains and did a quick, 45 minute, room flip while our guests enjoyed a few cocktails.The reception was nothing short of amazing between the music, bartenders, photobooth...I couldn't have asked for anything more! I would recommend this venue to ANYONE!!

Our experience with 28 Event Space was fabulous!! Renee and Maura were so easy to work with, they took the time to sit down with us and go over every detail! We had our ceremony and reception at 28 Event Space and all of our guests raved about how smooth the Room Flip was for the reception and they loved the cocktail hour to get ready to kick off the Live Band! Absolutely hands down, we are so happy we chose 28 Event Space! We highly recommend them - but book early because space is limited! We ended up having a Friday evening wedding, and so happy we did because we were able to utilize the loft space on Thursday and Friday which was perfect for our bridal party coming in from out of the Country!

28 Event Space was beyond amazing!! Maura and Renee were so helpful with every detail of our big day!! They kept in contact throughout the whole planning process and allowed us to visit several times! I absolutely loved everything 28 had to offer. I highly recommend getting married on a Friday!! :) I was able to get the venue Thursday night and stayed in the suite.(REALLY REALLY recommend as well) My bridesmaid and maid of honor stayed with me while the groomsmen and best man stayed with the groom in his suite. Maura and Renee went out of their way to help with whatever anyone needed! Maura even helped to bustle my dress for the reception. There are several different packages to pick from which was very nice to have a pick from what we wanted. LOVED IT!!

28 Event Space was perfect for our reception! Maura and Renee were great to work with. They were quick with communication and always helpful with any questions we had. They were always accommodating when we wanted to come in and take a look at the space to get better ideas for the day of the wedding. These ladies worked really well with our vendors and left us nothing to worry about. During the reception, Maura was wonderful with letting us know of any needs throughout. And I haven't even mentioned how amazing the feel is in the space! The lights and mural are the perfect touch to any other details you want to add. We loved our experience here and will recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Such an INCREDIBLE wedding venue! The space is absolutely beautiful and they are so great to work with. We had about 300 people at our wedding and it was the perfect size for our reception. It was great to have both indoor and outdoor seating for our guests to enjoy since it was a nice evening out. The event coordinators, Renee and Maura, are so easy to work with and were A LOT of help the day of the wedding. They work so hard to make sure everything falls into place perfectly. We couldn't have picked a better wedding reception venue in Kansas city!

Perfect venue for a perfect wedding! I highly recommend getting the full package. The day of coordinator, setup, and breakdown was a lifesaver to ensure the day of I could just relax and they would take care of the details. The suites for the bridal party to get ready in the morning of was so convenient and since I had a large wedding party I couldn't imagine getting ready anywhere else- lots of space! Guests loved the photo booth and the overall decor of the venue, little decorations are needed. Lastly, being able to bring your own caterer and your own liquor saved us a lot of money. Highly recommended!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at 28 Event Space several weeks ago and I can't say enough good things about the space and the staff!

The venue was a gorgeous and worked out perfect to host both our ceremony and reception there. The Bridal Suite is a must-have - it worked out great for our wedding party to hang out there during the day of the event.

The event planners - Maura and Renee - worked with us on everything and answered all of our questions throughout the planning process, leading up to the big day. I would highly recommend going through them for event coordination!

Our friends and family are still talking about what a blast they had at the event and how amazing the venue was.

I would recommend this space to anyone looking for a fun and contemporary event space!

28 Event was a great place to get married!! Renee and Maura were both very helpful in planning our wedding, they were flexible, friendly, and gave us some great ideas! The wedding was beautiful, I would definitely rent out the Bridal Suite and the Cave. It was a great place to get ready and hang out with everyone before the wedding. 28 Event is very flexible and understanding, it's nice that you can bring in your own booze and caterers and they don't rush you out at the end of the night. We hired Renee to be the day of coordinator and she was awesome, she made sure everything was running smooth and on time and checked on me throughout the day to see if we needed anything. Would recommend this to anyone getting married soon. :)

28 Event space was the perfect location for our reception. My husband and I did not want your typical ballroom reception and 28 Event Space was exactly what we were looking for. We loved the urban feel, location, big bulb lights and lanterns in the main ballroom and ALL the amenities 28 Event Space had to offer. Myself and all my bridesmaids used the bridal suite the morning of to get ready, which was so convenient! Then after the reception, my husband and I spent the night there. We also loved the fact that you could bring in your own alcohol and caterers, this helped save soooo much money. Many venues require you to use their own food and alcohol packages which cost a fortune. Maura and Renee were so great to work with, from wedding planning to the big day they were extremely helpful. Renee's event experience and support the day before and the day of the wedding was invaluable and the whole day was seamless. I loved that I didn't have to worry about a thing. The venue is breathtakig and the experience was incredible. I would highly recommend 28 Event Space to any couple looking for a beautiful and unique venue you can't find anywhere else in Kansas City!!! Sincerely, Alex & Nicole D

The most unique and beautiful venue in Kansas City! Very responsive and helpful with planning, also very flexible too. We absolutely loved having the on suite, a very unique perk. He ambiance is second to none and this venue is competitive in pricing with anything in the area! Would do our reception there 1000 times over!!

We enjoyed our time at 28 event space! Renee and Maura were very helpful and fun to have around. It was nice to be able to stay there, get ready there and have everything at one location! We had our dogs with us the whole time and it was great! Super dog friendly, which made my wedding that much better!

This space was perfect for my husband and I. We wanted something larger, urban, and near downtown that would require limited decorating. The space is so beautiful we only felt a need to provide centerpieces to complete the look we were going for - which made for easy planning! The fact that they allow outside food & liquor was another BIG winning feature of the facility. We were able to plan every detail as we wanted rather than as the venue suggested like at some other venues. Maura and Renee are both super nice and easy to work with. We highly recommend this space to anyone wanting to throw a great bash!

We held our wedding reception at 28 event space and were so happy with how everything turned out. It is a gorgeous space, perfect for the large amount of guests we were expecting. The lights are beautiful and we didn't have to do much decorating since the space is already so pretty. Maura was very helpful and easy to work with. They provided bartenders for us and we were able to use their sound system to do our music ourselves. Great dance space. We were also able to bring in our own caterer. Everyone loved it!

We are so glad we picked 28 event space for our wedding and reception! It was extreamly convenient! We had a Friday wedding, and had access to the space Thursday morning. We were able to set up early and not stress the day of! The bridal suite and cave were gorgous and super accommodating! We had a bridal party of 18 and everyone had plenty of room to get ready and relax! Maura was extreamly helpful and ensured the day went super smooth.

The venue was wonderful. Maura and Renee were fantastic to work with. The only thing I would suggest is being careful with your candle wax, if you use candles. Your deposit will be deducted $20 per damaged linen. Other than that, which I'm not complaining about because I understand, we had no issues! They helped make our wedding day so special!

We had the MOST beautiful wedding (no ifs, ands, or buts)!! It was a little difficult to get a hold of them at times, but they are booked up regularly, so that is understandable! My main problem was that - once we got into the space - things were a little hectic and were getting done at the very last minute. They were still cleaning up from an event the night before, the table cloths weren't set out and steamed like we were told they would be. It delayed decorating, and put some unnecessary stress on me as the bride, but other than that, it went swimmingly! I want all of my friends to have their events here!

HINT: Spring for the full package! You won't regret it!

The main event space is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! As soon as we walked through the door, I knew it was the perfect venue for our wedding. Karly was very helpful and responded to all of my emails typically within 24 hours. The bridal suite is a MUST! We had our wedding on a Friday so we were able to access the space on Thursday at 11am and didn't have to be out until Saturday at 9am. That worked perfectly because we were able to come in a set up everything Thursday afternoon, hold the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner Thursday night, and wake up Friday morning ready to go. The staff the night of our wedding were also amazing. I received many comments the following day from guests about how professional and great the bartenders were. We were allowed to bring our own alcohol for the bartenders to serve; at the end of the night they closed and boxed up everything for us. Although the price tag may seem high, it is definitely worth every penny and I would highly recommend considering it as your venue!

I loved my wedding at 28ES! The staff want you to have your dream wedding and will do what is needed to give you that. I was a fan of the fact that we got to do everything all in one space, from set up to sleeping at the end of the night. The all-inclusive package is expensive, but it is worth it!

I had a wedding planner/DOC, despite being told one wasn't strictly necessary b/c staff would be there direct things. I don't know how things would have worked out without a planner dictating the finer details, but I can say that 28ES staff stepped up and filled in when my outside planner bailed on her job (she did not honor the terms of her contract). Renee did everything from helping direct folks during tear down to passing along the tips to my DJ and outside shuttle drivers (neither vendors to which they had any connection or obligation). Not her job, but I appreciated it!

If forced to give a negative, I'd say the timeliness of responses. They always did respond, even to my inane questions, but it sometimes took longer than a panicked me wanted. I got the impression that they cared about all of their bridal couples but they didn't always have the time to deal with them. When it comes to dealing with drama, you want them to think everything is old hat, b/c they are professionals who will get things taken care of. When you have a 3am whim, you want them to acknowledge that this is a big deal b/c this is a new experience for you; which may not be a realistic expectation.

I recently got married at 28 Event Space. I loved the flexibility and unique setting of the venue. It was also easy to work with Maura. She was very attentive and helped piece together a few things that I couldn't. I received a lot of compliments on the venue after the wedding.
There were a lot of great things about 28 that helped it stand out against some of the other venues in the area.
Overall we had a FANTASTIC evening. There were a couple behind the scenes things that hiccuped, but I did not notice. The bathrooms in the suites could have been cleaned a bit more, but nothing major. Most people probably wouldn't even notice. (damp rug, missing towels, minor things).

Overall 28 made my wedding dream come true. They worked with me during the wedding planning and helped make my dream come true. Maura was very attentive to any questions I had. She also helped me see some things that I wouldn't have on my own. (placement of tables, easiest way to do center pieces, etc.).

I loved this venue! I could not be more happy with booking our wedding here. We had our wedding at the Station and I find it SO elegant. It has a beautiful marble wall and a fresh, clean look to it. We had about 150 guests, Oscar style seating, which makes it SO much easier for transitioning. I worked with Karly and felt like I was definitely taken care of. She always answered my questions promptly and was very helpful to ease my nerves. They provided awesome bartenders and we used Icon Event for our DJ (HIGHLY recommend. They MAKE the wedding people!) We had an AMAZING time! Everyone loved the venue and our DJ! My girls loved the Bridal suite as well! Lots of lighting and room.

I would say the downfall was the cleanliness of the bathrooms at our arrival. My makeup artist showed up before we did and there were cookies left in the tub, on the bathroom floor, with pee in the toilet. That was a bit shocking since no one should have even been in the rooms the night prior. Kind of made us question the cleanliness of the bed BUT it was very comfortable and we had no issues sleeping. Another downfall was the inability to use the space due to a Friday event. We didn't get an opportunity to do a "run through" because of this. HOWEVER! We didn't really need one. We did just fine with Karly and the DJ making everything run PERFECTLY! I do however think some people would find this to be a huge problem ( we didn't care really! ).
I wouldn't change a thing about my wedding day. They do have two spaces, so I'd be clear on which location to go to. I think a few of my guests unintentionally became wedding crashers :)

We really liked our venue and how they worked with us throughout our special day. I thought they were really friendly and did a great job supporting us out of town. It was a busy weekend with ours being one of two weddings for that venue and so we didn't get to do our wedding rehearsal which would've given a perfect score. With that said, everything from the shuttle service to the photo booth our guests and the millions of things in between are still being talked about by our guests. The space is amazing and the day of coordination was perfect!
However, we were charged an additional $1,200 for things outside the contact, we were not expecting.

Overall, we had a great experience at 28 Event Space. It is a beautiful decorated and unique space that allows us to decide who we want to have caterer and buy our alcohol from. We loved the bridal suite area. It was great space before the wedding to get ready and also the perfect space during the reception for grandparents and young children to hang out away from the noise of the music. This is a smartly designed area for large groups to be comfortable with. We had a few glitches the day of our reception as the 28 Event Space staff coordinators had been recently hired to take over staff that had just left. Overall the ladies did great, but we did have a few issues with the videos and the air conditioning to keep the dance floor space cooler. Everyone worked hard to make this a successful evening.

Although they said they would coordinate the day of, I was the one noticing that the caterer forgot silverware and that the liquor store brought the wrong alcohol. Did a great job with timing of the ceremony. I think the venue was overpriced, but I loved the back rooms to hang out and get ready.
