McKenna did our engagement pictures, a separate fun project, as well as our wedding pictures and was INCREDIBLE. She made us feel so at ease, was professional yet so fun, and delivered us absolutely beautiful pictures (we heard from many people that our engagement pictures were the best they'd ever seen!). She did a gorgeous job of capturing the emotion and really giving us photos that feel like a time capsule right back to each small moment. Anyone in the Charleston or Charlotte area - you will not regret choosing McKenna for all of your photography needs! -

We had the pleasure of having Mckenna as our wedding photographer and let me tell you, she was everything I thought she would be! I orginally found her on the knot and fell in love with her candid, vintage style of photography and had to have her for our big day! She is very down to earth and your biggest supporter through it all. Immediately after meeting her she made us feel comfortable and we jumped right into shooting. During our engagement and wedding shoot she directed us into poses that were so natural that you would've thought we had been in front of the camera our whole lives! The quality of the photos were so crisp and so colorful and I especially loved her editing style. We have so many wonderful photos that I'm now having trouble trying to choose which ones we want to hang on our wall ❤️ Mckenna was timely, professional and great to work with 10/10 would recommend her to anyone we know! -

Literally the best photographer we could have ever asked for. If you are still looking for a photographer, look no further. You will not regret it. We cannot say enough wonderful things about McKenna! From the very first meeting, she put us at ease with her warm personality and clear passion for her craft. McKenna took photos for our elopement, engagement shots, bridal portraits, and also wedding day. On the day of the wedding, she was not only professional and organized but also made the experience so enjoyable. She is so sweet and easy to talk to - it feels like talking with a friend.
McKenna has an incredible eye for detail and captured every moment beautifully, from the candid smiles to the breathtaking shots of our venue. Her ability to blend into the background while still capturing intimate, heartfelt moments is truly remarkable. Her style in photography is unmatched and she will genuinely listen to your vision.
When we received our photos, we were absolutely blown away. The lighting, composition, and editing were stunning, and she managed to tell the story of our day perfectly. Looking through our album felt like reliving the best day of our lives all over again.

Best of the best
McKenna was everything we could hope for in a wedding photographer! What first stood out to us was her photography style and fair pricing, but upon meeting, we learned she's also a wonderful and easy person to work with. She gives such good direction for people who may not know what to do on camera besides smile. I'm also convinced she can make any setting (whether that be the top of a parking deck or the side of a building) look like a set that was meant to be captured. She was also one of few photographers I could find that includes an engagement session with a wedding package! As for the day of the wedding, she made the absolute most of our 8 hours together. Plenty of locations, a variety of candid moments, and great at directing a large family and wedding party. Once we got our gallery back, we were so pleased with the balance of portrait and candid photos. We'll be finding another reason to book with McKenna again!! -

McKenna is truly the sweetest photographer to work with! Her energy is so positive and happy and she makes you feel SO comfortable!! We did engagement photos at the beach and our wedding photos in the mountains with her, and she absolutely crushed both! She gave great direction for posing and allowed everything to feel very natural for us. We were laughing the whole time, and from the sneak peeks we've received, we are OBSESSED!!! I cannot express how incredibly thankful we were for choosing McKenna to capture our big day. McKenna was so friendly and charismatic from the start and she fit right into the craziness and chaos of our life without missing a beat. She was flexible and super communicative, especially when it rained on the day of our engagement photos, which really helped to calm our nerves and make the session comfortable and fun. She stepped right into the flow of things on our wedding day and kept everyone on schedule and in good spirits. The photos came back better than I could've imagined and our guests haven't stopped talking about them. Amazing to work with and AMAZING photos
McKenna and her team were absolutely amazing. I was the bride who did not want to stand around and take a million photos. When I tell you that they got in, got the job done and got us to the party, It was wham bam thank you ma’am and we got some AMAZING shots. These photos are pure artistry, I can’t believe it’s me in them. They are nothing less than spectacular and she didn’t miss a beat from the entire day. -

We were disappointed by many of our vendors on our wedding day (a story for another time), but McKenna was an absolute bright spot! She was wonderful to work with - she remembered the priorities we discussed before our wedding day, and was great at rolling with all of the unexpected parts of our day. Selecting a wedding photographer is a very important decision, I should know, I’m a California wedding photographer myself! Usually, when a wedding photographer selects another photographer to photograph their wedding, they go to one of their photographer friends. However, when you are getting married in a completely different (I live in California, my at the time fiancé lives in North Carolina) state where you have no photographer friends it becomes a different matter. We kept our guest list small (mainly because when we started planning COVID was a major thing.), our expenses low except for the most important aspects, and bringing one of my photography acquaintances/friends along was not going to be a thing…
Selecting the wedding photographer for my wife and I was my task. And when I say I reviewed a lot of photographer’s work, I reviewed a “LOT” of photographer’s work!!!
I chose McKenna because she was the best, not a I’ll settle for, or a she will do, but she was the best! I like to joke around and say I selected the female version of myself lol! But really, I saw a lot of me in her and the way she works. McKenna‘s use of venue and surrounding areas was exemplary! It immediately shows that she does her due diligence.
McKenna is very talented, very responsive, and extremely easy to work with. She gives direction extremely well which makes it easy for her clients to understand what it is she’s looking for. And again, I know, I do a lot of the same thing myself. It’s one thing to be the photographer, it’s another thing to be the photographer’s client. And as HER client I felt that her direction was very easy and intuitive to follow. Additionally, she had an assistant photographer with her who was very friendly, very professional, and just as easy to work with! When her assistant wasn’t taking pictures, she would check on my wife make sure she’s okay, bring her and I water if needed, and was just overall wonderful! This dynamic duo many times anticipated our needs before we even knew we had them!
We are extremely happy with our engagement pictures (we had a small snafu but that was on our behalf, McKenna was amazing!), and EXTREMELY happy and beyond blown away with our AMAZING wedding pictures!!!
When we’re back in North Carolina visiting family, and we’re in need of some amazing pictures, McKenna is definitely the top of our list to call! Additionally, when I have clients who need a photographer in North Carolina, McKenna will definitely be my go to referral.
I cannot think of enough good things to say about McKenna, and I don’t think they’re actually enough words to represent how happy we are with our selection!

Fun and professional!
McKenna is an absolute must for you’re wedding day or any photo session honestly. She did our vow renewal shoot and I’m so obsessed with our photos! the absolute BEST
McKenna was INCREDIBLE to work with for our engagement photos as well as our vow renewal. She not only takes beautiful photos but she is encouraging, efficient, and made us feel very comfortable in front of the camera. She responds quickly and she was flexible with both a venue and date change due to COVID. I cannot imagine how our big day would have gone had McKenna not been part of it. Best wedding decision we made!
McKenna is by far the best photographer out there and an even better person. Her talent is insane, and her professionalism and passion for what she does is amazing! She made us feel so comfortable during our engagement photos, and had so much fun with us! Our wedding day was 10xs better because she was the one guiding it all, and helping us bring the fun! She got every single extra shot on my silly shot list (I was being extra) , and helped me deal with all my family drama on the day of! 😅 If you’re second guessing, don’t! She truly was the best decision we made when it came to our wedding vendors!! Our photos are absolutely perfect and we’ll treasure them forever! -

Do not hesitate to hire McKenna for your photography needs! She is full of energy and will make you feel so comfortable in front of the camera! One thing I love about her is she is always up for an adventure to get the perfect shots! She braved a windy flurry for our engagement pictures and also a foot of unexpected snow on our wedding day! I was worried about some of my vendors backing out but one person I knew would make it is McKenna! From the moment she heard snow she was actually MORE excited.
The quality of her work is amazing! Her background in graphic design shows through in her editing skills. She absolutely captured the beauty and love of our day and also made sure we had some fun, real moments on camera as well! I hope to have the opportunity to hire McKenna again in the future and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer in the Carolinas! -

Comfortable
McKenna was so easy to work with, making the wedding planning process, at least I’m terms of the photography, so easy. Everything you need to do for payment and contracts is all through a professional site and so easy to use. Even more importantly, she showed up early on the wedding day, and helped get the guys back on track when they were hanging out in their athletic attire about 10 minutes before their photos were supposed to start! McKenna and her team were fun, sweet, and directed me when I didn’t know what to do with my hands! The pictures thrned out better than I could have imagined and the best part is, we were able to download them in high quality straight from her site to our computers so we will have them forever and can print them on our own! I can’t say enough great things about her! -

So thankful for 1828 Collective!
When the pandemic pushed us to downsize to a small backyard wedding a MONTH before the date we had picked, we figured no one would be able to photograph the ceremony under such short notice. Enter McKenna, who saved the day! She was so easy to work with, both beforehand and on the day itself. We were really looking for candid shots, and Mckenna was so good at hanging in the background and capturing my family enjoying ourselves as we all hung out in the backyard. And we were so, so pleased with the results (some of which she gave the day of!) We will treasure her work for the years to come. We HIGHLY recommend 1828 Collective! -

You need to book with McKenna ASAP!
I don’t cry easily, but I cried when I got my photos back from McKenna. She will be my life photographer, meaning all of my family’s big moments, I want HER there to capture them. Whether it’s a vow renewal, my best friend’s wedding, my husband’s band photos, the announcement of a pregnancy, I want McKenna’s work framed & up on the walls of my house for the rest of my life because she’s THAT GOOD. She makes you feel incredibly confident & comfortable in front of the camera (which does NOT come easily to me.) Her work feels super light but with this beautiful artistic contrast that makes it stand apart from everyone else. I can always recognize it because I love her photos so much. She’s also incredibly kind & responsive. McKenna loves what she does & that makes all the difference. -

Stunning photos, and great customer service
Wholeheartedly recommend McKenna and 1828 Collective! I (groom) initially reached out to McKenna to secretly take photos when I proposed to my wife. Our engagement photos turned out so well that we decided to ask McKenna to do our wedding as well. McKenna is super friendly, happy to work with you, and genuinely cares about her clients. And the photos themselves are truly fantastic—you will not be disappointed. We got married in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, and McKenna was incredibly accommodating and flexible as we figured out how we needed to change our ceremony and reception plans. We ended up making some drastic, last-minute changes, and she worked with us to help capture our special day even in the midst of the unpredictability. We had to cancel part of our reception because of the pandemic and substantially downsize the ceremony, and McKenna treated us very fairly in negotiating adjustments to our photography contract. Overall we had a fantastic experience with McKenna and are truly in love with our wedding photos. We get compliments on them all of the time—people are amazed at how stunning they are. -
