Wedding details
Andrew and I have known each other for a number of years. I first met him when I was fifteen. He was a cousin of a good friend and I thought he was beautiful from the moment I met him. I never, ever thought I would ever have a chance with him as he was 21 at the time and I felt like a little girl. Nothing would ever come of it, it was just an older guy that was really attractive. That was that. Off to Uni I went and ended up in a long-term relationship. As the years went on Andrew became very good friends with my brother. They would spend the weekends surfing and every now and again, on my visits home to my parents house I would be pleasantly suprised to bump into him in the kitchen or preparing for a camping adventure with Leigh (my brother). The older we got, the smaller the age gap seemed to get and every time I saw Andrew I beamed inside. The years flew by, my relationship came to an end and off home I went. I got a part time job working in a bar and again was really pleased to find out that Andrew often came in with another friend. I would serve him his drinks and casually flirt over the bar... I was now 23 and he was 29.... The age gap seemed nothing now.... although I still thought I'd never have a chance with him. AND he had a girlfriend :-( I started seeing more and more of Andrew as he was friends with my brother and his fiance and we all had a similar group of friends. A few months later, I attended a party of a friend and Andrew was there. It was a fancy-dress party and I was dressed as Pocahontas and Andrew was dressed as Fred Flintstone. We got chatting and he started asking about my love-life, where I hesitantly told him about a guy I'd just started seeing. That relationship fizzled out after a number of months. Another year passed and I was making preparations for my mum's suprise 50th garden party. My brothers fiance Claudia and I had one off shopping buying the last few touches for the event... candles, napkins, lanterns etc... The sun was shining and once we had finished Claudia suggested we stop of at her house and chill in the garden for a few hours with a cold beer, but frustrated with my failing relationships i said, "No Claudia, I'm never going to meet the right man sat in your back garden!" So she agreed and we ended up sitting in a beer garden of a local pub.,....No men to be seen anywhere. I gave up and we decided to leave as the drink prices were high and we could relax for free in Claudia's back garden. When we got there, Andrew and Leigh were sat there too, having a beer and having a mess around with a ball. For a few hours the four of us sat around having a laugh and a joke and drinking beers. Playing with hula-hoops and generally having a lot of fun. I could feel a lot of Chemistry between Andrew and I... I was in my element. Then, Leigh and Claudia dropped the bomb that they had plans for the evening and so I left and went home alone. Andrew left and went home. After such a lovely afternoon I was now at home with nothing to do. My sister was going out with friends. My parents were out for the night and I was feeling deflated. I reluctantly grabbed my laptop and logged onto Facebook, just to see if there was anyone around doing anything...... Andrew was online..... could this be my one chance to make a move?? No, I wasn't brave enough for that... instead I updated my status..... "I'm really bored now." Within minutes I had received a private message. It was who I wanted it to be, Andrew - "Do you want to do something?" Perhaps I should have taken longer to respond but I immediately replied "Yes". We arranged a mini summer festival in my parents back garden. Just Andrew and I, a bottle of Jack Daniels and lots of music. We stayed up until about 4am chatting, dancing, taking silly photos and having an absolute blast. We have been inseparable ever since. I later found out that the night at the fancy-dress party he was going to ask me on a date, but when he found out about my new fling, he backed out! A year and a half later we bought our first home together and adopted two kittens who we named Bill and Ted. Another six months later, on Christmas Eve 2011, Andrew proposed. I didn't expect it, but was over the moon, and it was the best Christmas present I have ever had.

2483 days agoCan they? I'm asking so it's not advertisement. Don't review it - just share the link if you bought something from a specific store. And speaking of Etsy - who purchased an invitation to be slapped on "another" invitation site? How does that work?...
