How Katie & Christian Found Each Other... Katie : I've always been a skeptic of online dating like everyone out there is! However on June 29th of 2011... a small advertisement on the side of facebook caught my eye! A little website called Veggieconnection.com. I had been vegan for 2 years and thought I would take a chance to find someone with the same lifestyle. With the encouragement of my mom saying "what have you got to lose?" I thought, I'll go for it! After customizing my search to result into the perfect vegatarian man, I clicked submit! The very first person at 100% match was a handsome man from England named Christian. I thought to myself, he is cute! It was late though, and I quickly pressed the "favorite" button and went to bed. Meanwhile in England... Christian was home bed-ridden after recovering from appendicitis amongst other things... Christian : I signed up for the veggie dating site as I was bored and looking to meet like minded people with no great expectations. My membership was about to run out when I woke up and saw some American hotty had "favourited" me... so for the record when people ask, she hit on me first! ... I was immediately captivated by Katie's profile and we shortly started exchanging emails. After getting her to send me a signed photo of her holding a daily newspaper... I was finally convinced she wasnt some online predator trying to groom me! I plucked up the courage to shamelessly invite myself to stay in America for 3 weeks so we could finally "meet". I had no problem in making that decision to come over as I felt so comfortable talking with Katie. I could just tell how sweet and wonderful she was and how much her friends and family meant to her. We shared a lot of the same values and ideals. Spending 4 hours writing emails had never been so much fun, and waking up to find the green light on my phone informing me I had a new email... was the best part of every morning! In late August, the time finally came for me to board my flight and set off on what was an adventure I would never forget... even if Katie turned out to be a 350 pound 60 year old man... I made my way off the plane to the arrivals area, and in all the excitement I managed to spill a massive chunk of pasta sauce on my pants which made for an interesting introduction.... Katie : I arrived at Sacramento Airport earlier than I thought, which gave me enough time to calm my nerves which were out of control! After pacing back and forth with excitement anxiously watching the escaslators for a handsome face... he finally caught my eye. I couldn't believe it was Christian! We immediately embraced in a excited hug, followed by many nervous "hi's!" It was an instant connection! I felt like I knew him even though it was our first time meeting each other in person, I couldn't have been anymore happy at that moment! After meeting my parents, I brought Christian and I up to a look out spot where we had a lovely time talking and watching shooting stars in the sky. We had our first kiss that night and I truely felt with all of my heart, Christian was someone I could see myself spending the rest of my life with. ...Fast forwarding now through numerous fun vacations to such places as; Disneyland, Santa Cruz, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and all over England... we come to July 23rd 2012... The Day Christian Proposed : Christian and I had just come back from a family vacation in Santa Cruz. It was a beautiful night, and Christian had plans to suprise me with a picnic at a gorgeous look out spot. He brought delicious goodies, blankets, and wine glasses! We layed out under the stars just like the night when we first met. After reminising about our fun trips, and times spent together, Christian got down onto one knee, and said "Katie, will you marry me?" and with a fluttering heart and a great big smile on my face, I said "yes! of course I will marry you Christian!" We kissed and noticed that fireworks from the California State Fair were shooting off in the distance. It was incredibly magical! I can safely say when Christian proposed to me, fireworks went off!
