Wedding details
We met and began dating during our freshmen year of college in 2001. I walked into the classroom late and did a quick survey of my surroundings (military training kicked in). I saw my FH sitting in the middle of the class with a bucket hat on and paid him no attention! Lol! At the next class meeting, I began to move towards the back of the class and he began to follow me until he was within 1 seat away. He would slide in a compliment as often as he could to try to make me smile but there was one day in particular where it all changed. I used to work out prior to making it to class and I always put my hair in a ponytail until it dried. This day was different because I had actually taken off the hat, the ponytail holder, and had my hair straightened. He stood there smiling at me and said "you look different." I said "I combed my hair today" and he stood there with a smile and said "it looks nice." Within 10 minutes of class beginning, he had written me a "yes, no, or maybe" note asking me to join him on campus for dinner...it read "how about you and your hair joining me for dinner tonight at Stevenson?" I thought that it was the sweetest thing especially since I hadn't seen one of those in over 10 years at that time. :-) We have been through a lot of changes over the past 11 years including my deployment, remaining in a long-distance relationship, and a breakup. Once we began to grow and mature in every area of our lives, I know that is when the Lord began to bring us back to one another. I'm grateful because my very first prayer when I met him was as follows "Lord, I don't want to be with anyone else. I want this to be my husband." I'm very grateful that God knows what's best for us, how to prepare us for what's ahead, and has the best timeline for all of His children! The proposal came this year on my birthday and it really could not have been any better! We had gone to dinner for my birthday and I had a few close friends and relatives present but it truly was a night of surprises! He had arranged everything the days prior to us arriving at the restaurant and when the night was ending, he asked me to marry him! :-D I cried and hugged him for nearly 15 minutes! My aunt was crying 'hallelujah!', everyone was crying, including every man at the dinner table with us! It was amazing because I had been having dreams about our children and I would share them with him...he told me that I was having a nightmare and that I should go back to sleep! Lol! The night of the proposal, he revealed to me that he was having the same types of dreams and when I shared them with him, he would stare at the phone and wonder how it was that we were having the same dream. I exclaimed "that's from the Lord!!" :-D We would always say that we wanted to be together until we were old and gray! :-) It's been a good run and I'm looking forward to the next phase of our lives together.

I should have done this sooner but...I am back in married! No, I did not have a big wedding, I had a small gathering of friends and family at City Hall in New York City. The weather in the morning was...
FH's female cousin and I went Sunday to get my flowers for the bouquets and bouts. She put them together for me and sent me pics. I just wish I could share them with y'all cause they are beautiful....
All this planning is getting on my nerves and makes me just want to elope!!! I would like to know why you eloped and if you regret it??
