About 3 or 4 years ago, Chris and his friend went to a monster truck rally. On the drive home, his friend called me, and we talked for a while. Chris wanted to say hello, so he took the phone and the Oklahoma boy and California girl started talking. Once he got home, we added one other on AIM, and then from there, swapped cell phone numbers. Unfortunately, the friend that introduced us ducked out of our lives, but our bond grew stronger by the day. A few months later, Chris went on a family road trip to San Diego with his sister Chelsea, his dad and his step-mom. Well since I live in San Diego, I agreed to take them to the zoo and show them a little bit of San Diego. After the trip, I flew back to Oklahoma to visit Chris' hometown. Less than a month later, Chris asked me to be his girlfriend, and then two years and a month later, he asked me to be his wife. I've known for a while now that Chris and I were going to get married, but I never knew when he'd ask. I knew it was going to be well through out though, because he was ALWAYS telling me scenarios and ways he could propose to me. Well for a few days before the magical day (September 2nd, 2010) Chris had been saying he didn't feel well and that "if [he could] make it the rest of the day without throwing up, [he'd] be good". Now, if someone said that to you, wouldn't you guess they were getting the flu or something? That's what I assumed, but no, it was nerves that made him want to get sick. Anyhow, so I went to class, then headed to my best friend's house to hang out with her. We were going to go to the mall so I could pick up some clothes for work, but she asked me if we could hang out at her house for a while first because another one of her friends wanted to come too. LIAR! We stopped back by my house on the way to the mall because Lizzie forgot her jacket at my house. I opened the door, and in the doorway was my boyfriend! He said hello, then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, and I said yes (well actually I said "Holy crap" a lot and nodded a lot more).
