Wedding details
Don and I met on New Year’s 2010 in the Philippines at a night club called the "Salty Boot". The place was packed and I was with a posse of friends. My friends and I were standing around and listening to the music when Don approached and asked me to dance. He says I was swaying around like I wanted to dance but I don’t recall. Given that we were surrounded by other military people I was hesitant to dance but gave in to the dimples. After our dance it was almost time to ring in the New Year so we headed out side, snapped a quick picture and went our separate ways. I woke up the next morning thinking of the “mystery” man and asked my girlfriends for details about him but no one really knew because he kept to himself. The same day Don and I crossed paths at the dining hall and gym. We exchanged a few words but nothing much. None the less I felt chemistry so I pursued him and we scheduled a movie night. On that night everything changed because we learned more about each other and couldn’t get enough. We instantly started spending all our extra time together. We watched movies, played cards and sports but preferred to sit and talk for hours. In April 10, I left the Philippines for Alaska but the physical separation didn’t change our feelings. In fact, it brought us closer; Don and I both adjusted our schedules to accommodate our precious talk time. In May 10, Don traveled to Alaska and spent three weeks with my daughter Chelsea and I. During that time we confirmed our compatibility and love for each other. When Don left I was overwhelmed with emotions & after taking him to the airport booked a trip to Hawaii in July. On Sunday 18 Jul 10, Don surprised me and proposed in Hawaii on Turtle Bay. In September, Don visited Alaska a second time and met my first brother Kody. Kody is very near and dear to me so I was thrilled. Our next stretch seemed the longest but November finally came and we met in Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. On this trip I met lots of Don’s family and saw a little of him in Beverly, Kami and Dante. I can’t wait to be a part of his wonderful family! In December, Don met my family and now we are planning our dream wedding. We want our wedding to be luxurious, classic with some romance and lots of fun.
