John and I met 14 years ago. Freshman year of high school. John was dating a good friend of mine at the time, they dated for years but i always liked him. I kept my distance never saying anything. Fast forward John went into the Navy after High School and I moved to Maryland. I never forgot him and thought of him often. 9 years later we finally started messaging through facebook and agreed to meet up for drinks. We did this as friends once a week for months. I was completely head over heels. John wasn't there yet. I had some personal things going on in my life which caused John to keep his distance. a few months later after being completely heart broken over the possibility of being together was completely erased. A few months later John wanted to meet up for drinks. We had a good time like we always did. He messaged me later that night asking me out to a movie. (A REAL date!!!) We had a good time then as well. The rest is history. We are now engaged. He proposed at the top of Mount Falcon in Colorado. It was amazing. I cannot wait to marry my high school crush lol
