Fernando and I met on an online dating service and ever since then I have known that he is the Love of my life...and As far as I know...he feels the same way. I mean he did put a ring on it. :P This is the story of our Valentine's Day engagment.... We had just gotten on the road to a “Surprise” Valentines Weekend and I had no idea where we were going. He had this all planned out and if you know Nando, you know he doesn’t do that. :P That in itself was a nice change for me. We had been having a conversation on our drive about our Taxes. He had mentioned that when he gets his tax check that he was going to start saving for our future, for things like MY RING. I instantly felt sick. I thought for sure tonight might possibly be the night he might ask me…but I guess not. As we were driving, I felt bad that I was disappointed even though he went through all this effort to plan this little weekend getaway. So I tried to stop being a pansy pants and suck it up and enjoy our nice weekend. :) We got to our Destination and he took me to the Beautiful Missions Inn in Riverside. I was blown away. It was just so beautiful there that all my disappointment had gone away and all I could think of was how impressed with his planning I was! :) We had gotten there and I asked him if he would like to open his gifts. All he could say, was…”Awww babe…you didn’t have to get me anything…I didn’t get you anything” I didn’t even care…I was in the most beautiful place ever and with my love! I was good! :) He opens his 3 Heart Boxes of Candy, a Dodger Jacket and Wine. At this point it was probably 10…so kiiiinda passed my bedtime. I was getting tired and figured we had a pretty long weekend ahead of us…so I was just chillin and he wanted to go look around. So we walked around the beautiful resort. All the old architecture is amazing! We stood outside of our room which was a beautiful view of their pool. He held me from behind and couldn’t stop telling me how much he loved me. I was a happy girl! He just started to ramble on and all of a sudden I could feel his heart beat in my back. He kind of turned me around and told me he loved me and that he was so happy that he was there with me…that he hoped I was surprised and loved it. All I could say was “Oh my gosh babe…DUH! Of course I love it…Look at this place! YOU DID GOOD!” HAHAHA! He started to get a little fidgety and weird…he got kind of red and looked like he was sweating and I asked him if he was ok. He went on… “Yeah I’m fine, so you know how much I love you right? I really love you!!!.....So Ummmm….I was wondering…..What are you doing for the rest of your life?” I kind of laughed and said, “Uuuuuh…be with you?!?!?!” Then he got on one knee and opened the box with my beautiful ring inside. I couldn’t breathe…and I probably waited for what seemed like 3 minutes to say YES! I couldn’t believe it. I just hugged him and couldn’t let him go. I think I hugged him tight for 5 minutes before I let him breathe again. He showed me that he had engraved the ring with my favorite word…HOPE. He is my Hope and my light at the end of the tunnel. I can’t wait to Marry and spend the rest of my life with my best friend.
