Looking back at how I first met Jordan is quite comical. I was a resident on the Rainbow floor, the LGBTQ-Ally floor at the University of Southern California. My neighbor was a spirited sort, with a personality almost as big as my own. Every Sunday, the floor would get together to play beach volleyball behind the apartment complex; my neighbor always rallied everyone to the court. On one occassion, he ushered in a new player whom the floor had not met, his boyfriend Jordan. Jordan stood at just under 6' with cornflower blue eyes and bee stung lips. I was instantly attracted to this brooding character, my neighbor's boyfriend. Jordan and my neighbor dated for quite some time after and I didn't really give him much thought. That was of course until my neighbor, Jordan, a fellow friend and I all went out to West Hollywood. Under the influence of a little alcohol, I made my attraction known flirting uninhibitedly and testing his loyalty to his boyfriend--in front of his boyfriend. Needless to say, Jordan was barred from ever hanging out with me again. After a stint back East helping to take care of my grandmother, I returned to the University of Southern California. It was my 5th year and I was completing my "victory lap" (as they say...). I came across Jordan's facebook--for some reason he was going by Jude on the social network. We had already friended each other previously and I thought 'Hey, why not do a little cyber stalking'. To my surprise, his LTR had ended. And that was all it took. I had signed his dance card almost a year prior and I intended to get that dance. We had a quaint little hang out bonding over Buffy the Vampire Slayer and getting to know one another and then we were inseparable. We have been ever since. My life hasn't always been simple but this is always what it has been leading up to. I had to persevere through and through, in order to meet Jordan. He's changed me, for the better. He's changed my life, for the better. And I'm confident that things can only get better from here. All the king's horses and all the king's men They came marching through They offer the world just to have what we got But I found the world in you I found a world in you
