 Pascal and I met at a bar. The Vault in Asheville to be exact. It was a cool evening in August 2009 and I was had decided to go out with a girlfriend because she had been complaining about not meeting any guys. I myself was not interested in meeting anyone, as I had very recently decided I was done trying to date for awhile. I got ready and picked up my friend and we met some other friends at Scullys. After staying at Scully's for a few minutes we all decided to go to the Vault. I remember as I was walking into the Vault that there was a tall, dark, handsome man checking me out. He made eye contact with me, and I smiled at him. I went on into the bar, but not before I noticed he had some friends. I thought that this was a perfect opportunity to have my friend meet some guys, as one of the guys had been checking me out and would be "easy" to talk to. Pascal came up to the bar, at which time I asked if he wanted to come join us in the back room. Now, HE says he talked to me first, but I'm not sure :) SO, he came back into the back room where my friends and I were hanging out. We talked a little, and then his friend, Lucas came to get him because they were going to Scandals. I had introduced my friend to Lucas, and he and Pascal asked if we wanted to come. I was hesitant, but decided to go for the sake of my friend. At Scandals, Pascal and I danced and danced! I remember thinking that I liked this guy cause he was not afraid to boogie! At the end of the night he got my number. I went home and got back to normal life. Then I got a phone call. He wanted me to come out with him. I turned him down - remember, I was NOT looking to date anyone. He was persistent. I think I turned him down two times before I finally decided to go to dinner with him. We went to Papa's & Beer. We had great conversation and really enjoyed each others company. After the initial date, we hung out a few more times but I was still very adamant that I didn't want to date seriously - that we were just hanging out. I told him not to put his life on hold for me. Then, one night about a week later we were hanging out at his friends place when I noticed he got a text message from another girl asking about their "date" for sometime in the future. I asked him about it, and he said "you told me not to put my life on hold, so I asked this girl I know on a date". It was at that time that I realized I did have feelings for this guy. I asked if he would mind telling her he couldn't make it - and I let him know that I wanted to talk about things. He agreed and we set a time to hang out the next afternoon. We met and went out to Lake Powhatan. Once we had hiked back to the lake we sat down on the grass and started talking. I told him I was scared, but that I was having feelings for him. He expressed that he had WANTED to date me exclusively, but that I had told him no. We agreed that we both thought there was potential, and decided to make it "official". The rest is history :-)
