Our story begins 4 years ago.....  We both worked at a State Prison, he was an officer and I was a nurse.  I hadn't worked at the prison very long, as a nurse I would have to go to the buildings to do pill pass.  Well....  at the prison the officers loathed taking the nurses on pill pass, they would scatter like roaches when the nurse walked in!  We were assigned the same building for a month at a time, and every time I went to do pill pass Jeff was waiting on me!  I just thought "awww poor thing he's new, so they are sticking him with the nurse".    I even joked to him about it saying " lol did you draw the short straw again?"  He would just look at me....  Jeff was an active Marine for 12 years, served 2 terms in Iraq.  So his demeanor is not of the friendliest type, to be perfectly honest he appears to be a raging asshole!  The first pill pass we ever done together I actually went back to medical and asked who the bald headed asshole was that I did not like him taking me on pill pass because he wouldn't talk to me!  So many pill passes later and still MAYBE 20 words from Jeff, I looked at him and said "There's a few of us going out tomorrow night to eat and then go dancing, if you would like to bring your girlfriend or wife you are more than welcome to drive and join us" ...... He just looked at me and said " I dont have either"  then crickets for the rest of the hour and a half  pill pass.  At the last cell door he looked at me and said " What time are you going to pick me up?" I thought to myself   "omg what an ass? why do I have to pick him up? we are not friends? he doesn't even know my name for Christs sake?"  So, after we got off of work he walked to my car to get my number and as he was walking away I said "By the way.... My name is Danielle."  and he said " I'm well aware of what your name is"  I was CLUELESS!!!!!!   I just thought it was a casual friends going out type of thing.  Being the good friend that I was I went and picked him up, we went out to eat, I tried to pay for my dinner, he looked at me like I had grown a third head....  I tried to pay for my cover at the door, again third head look.  We all got a huge table had been there for about two hours and a slow song came on, a woman that I worked with said "you two go out there and dance together"  We did and he laid one on me! THEN and only THEN did I GET IT!!!   I was in no shape, form, or fashion looking to date any one, I was recently seperated, 3 boys - one of whom is autistic.  I was 33, and I found out I enjoyed being by myself!   So dating was not even in my vocabulary at that time.             It's been 4 years and Jeff and I are still together, neither of us are at the state prison.  Jeff now works at a Federal Prison and I am a stay at home mom of our 1 year old son, Parker.  Jeff has a set of twins from a previous marriage - a boy and a girl, I have 3 boys from a previous marriage and together we have Parker.  Making "us" a grand total of 8!!   We have lived together for over a year and a half. Jeff isn't a raging asshole like I suspected, He's actually everything I never knew I needed or wanted.  I love to watch him with our kids, to see this big built tough Marine get in the floor and roll around with Parker, or to see him piled up on the couch with all of our kids watching a movie, about kills me.  I am very thankful to have him in our lives!  We both enjoy working out, running, anything outdoors.  Saturdays are deemed SEC Saturdays, in a house hold of 8 you can imagine it's pretty much a free for all!
