Her Side It was 2007, and I was a sophomore at Indiana University as well as a member of the Student Athletic Board. One Sunday, I decided to work a big track meet that IU was hosting that weekend. It was a cold February day, the meet lasted awhile, so needless to say I was tired and also regretting giving up my entire Sunday for this event. So I’m walking around, helping out where needed and I noticed Kyle walk by. I'd seen him around a few times, but never really knew his name. I turned to a friend of mine that was working with me and the first thing that I said was "Wow, he's really cute". My friend Kasey laughed and we kept working. Soon after that, he walked by again, but this time he stopped to talk to me. He asked me my name and what I was doing there. I thought he was a nice, respectful guy and very handsome. He informed me that "he'd won Big Tens" that day in triple jump and that his family was there and I should come and say hi to them. I was taken aback because I had just met this guy, yet the first invitation that he gave me was to come meet his family. WELL, needless to say, I never went to say hi. I honestly brushed off the invite as small talk and didn't think more about it. Later that night, I logged onto Facebook before bed, and I had a message…FROM KYLE. It asked why I didn’t stop by and say hello. I was so caught off guard because I was sure that he’d probably forgotten. We talked through facebook messages and decided to do homework together that next day. The next day came and he did homework with my roommate and me, and on that day we laughed and laughed for hours. I don’t think we actually got any homework done at all. From that day on, we grew to become best friends and were pretty much inseparable. How We Met His Side I was a Junior at Indiana and it was the Big Ten track meet. I’d just finished jumping in the triple jump and had won Gold. Needless to say I was more than happy. Danie and I had a few mutual friends and I’d always heard that she was a really nice girl. She just seemed really nice and down to earth. And not to mention she was beautiful! I noticed that she was at the meet that day, and I’m not sure what made me go up to her that day, but when I walked past her and her friend I decided to stop and say hi. I wanted to meet her and I also wanted her to meet my son and family. I invited her to come meet my family that day and when she didn’t I was kinda confused. So I asked my roommate if I should write her on facebook, and he said that I should. So that night after my family left, I wrote her. She answered shortly after, and we decided to meet that next day to do some homework. We did homework with her roommate, and I definitely thought she was a cool girl. We pretty much laughed more than we did homework and immediately she started giving me a hard time because I wouldn’t take a picture for her phone. She finally got me to take a picture for her phone so that when I called, it would pop-up. This is when I found out that she was a little bossy, but regardless I thought she was a very sweet girl. From then on, we hung out non-stop. She would come to my meets to support me and became like a best friend.
