My fiancee and I met through mutual friends in 2010. Although, there was an instant connection, I didn't realize we were meant to be more than friends at first. It wasn't until a few months later when I saw him without his shirt on while on a rafting trip that I looked at him differently. It took about 2 months of flirting on my part to get my point across, but he finally took the bait and kissed me at a party in Oct 2010. We were inseparable after that.....up until I left for a 6 month deployment in Dec 2010. We stayed together throughout my deployment and tried to pick up where we left off when I returned in July 2011. Things were a little shaky at first, but with some honest communication and quality time, we were able to get things back on track. Over the next year, we met each others family and friends, traveled together and decided to share a home. Two months before our two year anniversary, he proposed with my grandmother's engagement ring and I happily accepted. I left for another 6 month deployment in Jan 2012 and will return in Jun with a plan to get married on Oct 12, 2013 - almost 3 years to the day after our first kiss.
