Wedding details
Our story is one of fate. At least, that is how we see it. On October 6th, 2008, I received a last minute ride to an off campus party from a friend that would later be the key to our story. Little did I know the validity to the six degrees of separation theory. This friend's boyfriend just so happened to be my future fiances' roommate. As cheesy as it sounds, that night it was love at first dance. But it wouldn't be that easy for us. For several weeks Eduardo and I would just narrowly miss an opportunity to get to know each other. On Halloween weekend I learned a friend of mine had been in a car accident and was back on campus. I went to visit him and see how he was doing, not knowing he was roommates with Eduardo as well. That night our friend informed me Eduardo had asked her about me and seemed very interested. This was wonderful news since I was very interested in him as well. Too bad that night I would make a complete fool of myself. Needless to say, I left an impression. It was clear to his roommate that I really wanted a chance to talk to Ed and develop a friendship. On November 2nd, I received an instant message with Ed's AIM screenname (yes, that is how old we are) and a suggestion to reach out to him. I took a leap of faith and sent the first message, striking the beginning. We finally got a chance to talk in person that night, spoke for hours, and continued to do so every night for the next two weeks. A weekend apart during my trip to Cortland proved we were not fond of distance. After a "date" to the mall, Eduardo gave me a sheet of paper with a puzzle on it. I was given instructions to decode the message before the offer expired in three days. This was the TOUGHEST puzzle I had ever seen, and I am a huge fan of them. I was stumped and felt the clock ticking. After 28 hours and a little bit of help...ok, he gave me a HUGE hint...I cracked the code. The deciphered puzzle read "Will you be my girlfriend? If yes kiss me." And on November 15th, 2008 our beautiful journey reached a new level.
