Wedding details
Our love story began at Forsyth Central High School. My brother, Jeffrey, was best friend's with JJ. The boys often spent time together and I was finally introducted to him. Over time, we began a friendship that became something more. We talked almost daily and shared our most personal thoughts and struggles. He became my best friend. Although I hesitated to further our relationship at first (because I was a Junior and JJ was a Sophomore), I slowly realized my true feelings. I began to get excited hearing that JJ would be coming over to hang out with Jeffrey...and Jeffrey did not like that! But with Jeffrey's permission, JJ asked me out on our very first date in February 2005. I graduated high school and began my first year of college at Reinhardt College. With JJ finishing his Senior year of high school, we found it hard being long distance...but we traveled back and forth every weekend. When JJ graduated, he attended Kennesaw State University and I transferred to be at the same school. I only stayed at Kenensaw for 2 months before realizing it just wasn't the school for me. So, as hard as it was to leave JJ once again, I did. I enrolled at The Art Institute of Atlanta and began my degree in Fashion Marketing. I moved back home to Cumming and we began our weekend-only visits once again! JJ began traveling across the USA working as an Audio Engineer. Then, in 2010, I spent 3 months living and interning for a major fashion designer in New York City. Although this was one of the toughest obstacles, we made it through and it strengthened our love even more than we imagined. Through our distance, we learned to cherish our moments together and support each other's dreams no matter what. It taught me to put his feelings before my own and to be understanding in all circumstances. I graduated with a Fashion Marketing degree from The Art Institute in September 2010 and JJ graduated with a Computer Science degree in August 2011. We both found full time jobs and began our adult lives! I work as a Marketing Administrator and JJ is now a Software Developer. After much patience and dreaming, JJ proposed on January 28, 2012. It couldn't have been more perfect.
