"Right in the middle of ordinary life, love gives you a fairty tale." Should be more like, "Right in the middle of your lunch break, Love gives you a fire man. Because, that what love did for me, gave me Matt on my lunch break. Originally I was going to go to Jimmy Johns on my lunch break, but than I saw Panda Express. Figured it would be something different, however, when the girl behind the counter messed up and gave me a plate instead of a box to go, I am glad I didn't say anything. Shortly after I sat in the table alone, outside pulled up this gorgeous black truck with fireman ribbons and a mural on the entire back ground. I half expected a guy my dads age to walk out, but instead walked out this extremely handsome tall guy dressed in all black with an orange shirt peeking through the black jacket he was wearing.
When he walked in to the restuarant, I became a little school girl. I knew I shouldn't be staring, but I couldn't help myself. I always joke that all that was one sappy love song shy of a movie scene. I watched him walk past me, but little did I know that the entire time in his head he was trying to build up the courage to ask if he could sit with me, but instead of asking me, he simply kicks the cheair behind me. The noice made both of us jump and make eye contact again. At that point I knew, apparently so did he. I wrote my number down on a napkin, slipped it on his table and walked away. Walking very fast but repeating, don't run, don't fall, don't run, don't fall. Getting into my truck, I called my best friend and quickly drove away.
Inside the restuarant, Matt thought the napkin was a suddle was of saying that he had sauce on his face. So he picked up a different napkin and wipped his face, Didn't see anything, so than he assumed he dropped the napkin. Then when he went to move the napkin he saw all my information, he than very quickly packed up everything on the table and went to chase after me, but I was gone.
Two days later he called me, and then we spent the rest of the weekend texting eachother and finding out that we had a scary amount of things in common. That following Monday Sept 1, 2008 he took me on our first date. We climbed up Blackwell's Mount Trashmore, watched the sun go down. We dined at Golden Wok II, and although it was the first time we had ever gone out, there was a peace between us, like we had always known one and other. After dinner we went by a lake, just talking and looking at the stars.
For the next ten days things were going great. We accidently walked into what we though was just a resturant, turned out that it was an extremely expenisive steak house. The night before we stayed up talking all night, becuase he was trying to help me keep my mind off of what was happening to my grandfather. While we were at the restuarant that friday night, he filled out a card left on our table by our waitress. He filled out his address, his phone number, but stopped when he came to the anniversary. He turned and looked at me, "Should I put September 11th? It would be easy for me to remember, and it was only yesterday." And now, 2 years from that date, I am going to complete at least this section of my fairy tale.
