We got married at Twenty Mile House and honestly, I do not even know where to begin because this venue exceeded our expectations in almost every way. From the moment we first visited, it felt magical. The towering trees, the creek running through the property, the rustic atmosphere, the train tracks cutting through the landscape, and the history of it being an old Pony Express stop made it feel like something out of a movie. The vintage and antique furniture throughout the lodging spaces fit the vibe perfectly and made the entire experience feel cozy, historic, and intentional. We booked our wedding about two years in advance while living all the way in North Carolina, and Twenty Mile House was incredibly accommodating from the beginning. Before we even signed a contract, they allowed us to come tour the venue during the off-season with only a couple days notice while we happened to be in California. That flexibility honestly played a huge role in us choosing this venue. It had also been recommended by a friend in Lake Tahoe who is a photographer, and after seeing it in person, we understood why immediately. During our planning process, we initially worked with Rachel before she went on maternity leave, and then Ashliegh took over coordination. Ashliegh was wonderful. Planning a wedding from across the country could have been incredibly stressful, but she made it feel manageable and calm. We had both a planning meeting and a follow-up Zoom meeting because of the distance, and she always made us feel heard and supported. There was one very small communication hiccup about six weeks before the wedding involving an email with incorrect names that briefly made me panic and wonder if our date had somehow been double booked. The issue was immediately clarified when I reached out, and after that, everything continued smoothly. Honestly, for a two-year wedding planning process with a busy venue managing multiple couples, having only one tiny issue is pretty incredible. Our guests absolutely loved the atmosphere. One of the biggest perks was having lodging directly on site so people did not have to drive winding mountain roads late at night. The property itself is stunning from every angle. The ceremony site under the trees is breathtaking, and crossing the bridge over to the reception area afterward made the flow of the day feel so special and intentional. Our wedding day ended up being rainy and cool, and the venue handled it beautifully. They had elegant tents, heaters, and even clear umbrellas available as it started sprinkling during the ceremony. Somehow, even with the weather, everything still felt romantic and beautiful instead of stressful. The food was phenomenal. Truly 10 out of 10. Same with the desserts and cake. They even saved us slices of cake for breakfast the next morning, which may have been one of the best decisions ever because it was THAT good. The photography, which was included in our package, also completely blew us away. Our wedding photos came out absolutely stunning despite the rain. Some photos included umbrellas and some did not, and every single one still captured the magic of the property. We even arrived to the area during a county-wide power outage, and thanks to the venue’s generators at the main house and Mountain View house, our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner still went on without issue. Now for the honest part that future couples should know. This venue is definitely an investment, and while it is marketed as all-inclusive, there are optional upgrade costs for additional decor and customization items. Things like upgraded linens, plate chargers, candlesticks, specialty ceremony arbors, decorative doors at the ceremony site, extra barrels, expanded floral packages, and additional dessert selections beyond what is included can all add to the final cost. That being said, the upgrades are completely optional, and you absolutely can bring in your own decor items, which the venue staff will happily set up for you. We really appreciated having the flexibility to personalize things while still getting the convenience of an all-inclusive experience. One area that could have been communicated more clearly was the lodging pricing. During the booking process, we were shown the all-inclusive wedding total, and underneath that was a separate lodging amount. The way it was explained initially made it sound like the lodging number was simply showing how much of the overall wedding total was attributed to accommodations. What we later realized after signing was that the lodging amount was actually an entirely separate cost in addition to the wedding total itself. The lodging is also handled entirely through the couple rather than guests booking individually through the venue. Guests would need to reimburse the couple directly if you choose to split costs. Lodging also requires a deposit and is booked as a full package rather than allowing individual one-night reservations. Ironically, both my husband and I work in contracting, and even we misunderstood that part at first. That being said, I would still choose Twenty Mile House all over again in a heartbeat. The atmosphere, scenery, coordination, flexibility with weather, and overall ease of planning made it worth every penny. Wedding planning can be unbelievably stressful, and this venue somehow made ours feel almost low stress, which is honestly priceless.

We got married here in September 2024 and got to reserve the whole place for our family and friends. We opted to have all of our wedding events on site to maximize the time with everyone. This venue, while expensive, will wow your guests and provide a unique experience where they can connect all weekend long. Emily is very organized, a clear & direct communicator, and made sure that our event was a success. The staff are amazing too and provided a lot of help during the weekend with serving, bartending, and moving tabes & chairs. Our families were able to relax and many said that it was the best wedding they’ve ever attended.

Absolutely wonderful and helpful staff. We has the pleasure of working with Callie and always was absolutely amazing! They answer every question no matter how small. They are very reliable to make sure you are getting exactly what you are wanting for your day. Incredibly greatful for everything they did for us! Most perfect venue to host anything at!

My husband and I met at Piper's Opera House, so for my 50th birthday, we renewed our wedding vows on the same dance floor. I LOVE this venue. The staff is amazing, especially Whitney, who is truly wonderful to work with. The ballroom is enchanting and unique. I was able to have BOTH a DJ and a live band! My guests really enjoyed the ball, the history, and Virginia City! If you're looking for something out of the ordinary and memorable, I highly recommend Piper's Opera House.

Best location in Las Vegas for any event. I had my wedding there and it is literally so beautiful. It's a hidden gem in the desert. I would choose the place over any other in Las Vegas. Our wedding was perfect and our guests had so many good things to say about it and the service they provided. Debbie Deal was great to workout.
