When our daughter got engaged we visited four venues in the Ames/Des Moines area. Glen Oaks was the last and we are so very happy we went with them. Our wedding was this past weekend and we feel like we got the Golden Ticket. The venue is gorgeous (we had the ceremony out on the croquet lawn), the food was fantastic, and every staff member was kind & accommodating. I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed working with Shannon, their catering director. It was like having our very own coordinator, wedding planner and friend helping the whole way through. We'd do it again in a heartbeat. Add Bella Flora into the combination and prepare for perfection!!!

The most wonderful place for a wedding! The food was amazing, the location was central to all our friends and family so more people were able to attend, and we were able to have the ceremony and reception all in one place, which was so convenient. If I had to do it over again, I would pick Elmwood every time!

This event vendor is a great option to have for a reception! With food service included and so much more it was quick and easy to book! We are so excited for the event!

Centennial did a great job helping us plan our wedding reception! They were very quick with their responses and accomodating! We had a lot of compliments on the facilities and the food. I would highly recommend their pasta bar! It is delicious!

This was the best possible venue for the area we were working with! The staff was so nice and personable. We couldn't have asked for a better place.

We used Brown Deer for our ceremony venue and it was GORGEOUS. Didn't have our reception here though because the inside venue space was too small and the food is catered through the Marriott and WAY out of our budget. But our outdoor wedding there went off without a hitch, and the staff was so great to work with. Our only issue was that our day-of coordinator was slightly hard to reach. I couldn't get in contact with her the whole 2 weeks before our wedding and finally got a phone call the Thursday before we got married, and she didn't come to the site until an hour before the ceremony, but that was our only hiccup. Also its good to know that it's a flat rate of $2000 to rent the event space regardless if you use it ALL day or just for the ceremony in the afternoon, but there were still golfers driving while our ceremony was happening so its not like you buy out the whole golf course. So ya, it was pricey, but I still think it was worth it to get the golf course's beauty, you can take pictures all over the course, and there's a built-in contingency ceremony space inside in case it rained! Overall, very happy with this venue.

The staff was awesome, the food was awesome, there was enough room for everyone and they had fireworks the night before for us!~

This venue is absolutely fantastic for a reception. The club overlooks a beautiful golf course and is great for pictures. In addition, the staff are helpful. They set up all of the tables and chairs for us and all we needed to do was decorate. The fully stocked cash bar was also a convenience as we provided beer but liquor was available if those in attendance wished to pay for it themselves.
