🚨 VIDEOGRAPHER SCAM 🚨

Alright guys. I’ve had it with my videographer, and I highly recommend this post be pinned so other brides do not get taken advantage of.

Jamice Ivie & his ”wedding videography” business called You&Ivie is officially a scam based on multiple reports, now including my experience. https://www.youandiviefilms.com/

I booked him last fall for my wedding this upcoming September for $1200. I know that’s really cheap to almost be questionable but he said he was out of the wedding business the last few years during the pandemic and wanted to better his portfolio. I have other vendors around the same price and they have been amazing up until this point. Price does not mean low quality. Also videographer was then not a priority for me so I was willing to take my chances.

He sent me a contract, and I paid a $600 deposit via Stripe. The contract even guaranteed full money back if he didn’t show up for the wedding (added to photo attachments).

Because of this post, I also talked to another wedding videographer who had the same experience with Jamice. Photos attached.

I called Jamice about these allegations and he explained his side for both people in a somewhat believable way. I gave him the benefit of the doubt but also have been suspicious this entire time.

Two months away from my wedding, I’ve been trying to schedule a meeting with all of my vendors regarding a venue tour. Since Jamice has not videographed at the venue before, he was required to make this tour. He has been dodging my calls, emails, texts, social media reach outs since then. See photos attached. He did join a virtual itinerary call with my planner and videographer a month ago but he was late to it. As soon as an in-person attendance was required, such as this venue tour, he started ghosting me.

Do not book him. He has scammed so many brides out there, and I should have believed the other people. Tried to give the benefit of the doubt and got screwed over.

SCAMMER. Took $1000 worth of payments/deposits and did not show up on wedding day. Claimed he had a car accident. Is now refusing to answer any phone calls or message and has not sent refund over a week later. This guy is a scammer do not trust.

We were thrilled when Jamice reached out and offered to help out. We put a deposit down and then heard nothing from him. It’s 3 days out from our wedding and we can’t get ahold of him. This has created so much extra stress. No bride should endure this. DO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY.

CON ARTIST ALERT!!!. If i could give Jamice and his company negative starts, i would. We booked with this company for our wedding that was supposed to happen in April of 2020. Due to Covid, we had to reschedule. We had paid Jamice the deposit to film our wedding. When my planner reached out to get confirmation about his availability for the new date, he told her that "he had inquiries for our date" but he had no one booked. He told her he looked forward to finding a new date and when my planner told him we had already booked and move every other vendor to the new date, without problem, he decided to just stop responding. She emailed him several more times without a word back from him. I myself have text him, emailed him, and called him and was hung up on. He STOLE our money. Ran away with our whole deposit because he would rather get paid more by a new client he hadn't even booked yet, then to hold up his end of the contract for us, the clients who have already paid him. After investigation, he had worked with another company prior, which that company had awful reviews and no planner or person in the event industry wanted to work with them. We are now having to take him to court to get our money back. No bride should have to worry about a court date while they are planning their wedding. He is absolutely awful and if I were you, I would look else where. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN OR HIS COMPANY!
