Located in downtown Marietta, Georgia, the William Root House is a historic wedding venue. Dating back to 1845, the home was built by Hannah and William Root who were among the earliest to settle Marietta. Today, the property is operated as a museum, complete with elegant gardens, and a private event facility. The home and grounds have been lovingly restored, making the property ideal for rustic wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, showers, and more. Located adjacent to the Marietta Square Market, the town square can be reached in five minutes by foot. In addition, Atlanta and Hartsfield-Atlanta International Airport are a roughly 30-minute drive.

Facilities and Capacity

The William Root House offers both indoor and outdoor event spaces. The courtyard is a versatile space surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens. The courtyard can accommodate up to 70 guests for a seated meal or 150 guests for a ceremony or cocktail hour. For smaller, more intimate events, the venue features a beautiful indoor space with seating for up to 24 guests. The room features a vaulted ceiling, white shiplap walls, raw wood floors, and a kitchen area with marble countertops, and a log cabin accent wall.
