WHARTON is located one hour's drive southwest of Houston on U.S. 59. The Wharton Civic Center, 1924 N. Fulton St., is the premier meeting and convention facility in Wharton. It is just minutes away from the lodging, fine dining, the lively arts, shopping, antiques, museums, and our historic courthouse district.

Wonderful location for us. The hall has a large foyer and good sized ballroom. Plenty of room to eat and dance. Staff sets up furniture with tableclothes for you.

The venue is very pretty, but it can be hard to get them to visualize what you want. I had a hard time explaining that I wanted two colors of tablecloths and for the colors to alternate. However, you can rent white tablecloths from them for $5, which was very reasonable. The HUGE drawback is security. Even without alochol, we had to pay $375 for officers to sit around and do nothing, and eat our food without asking or being told it was OK. With alcohol, it would have been almost $1,000 for security. It's definitely a ripoff.

The venue is attractive and has a nice, elegant feel. However, security is expensive and you are required to have it no matter what.
