This church is GORGEOUS. The pastors are wonderful and fun. You can be any faith as long as you do the ceremony with joint pastors. You have to do pre-marital counseling at the church. They seem pricy at first, but in the end it's worth every penny. The live organists, the amazing look of the sanctuary, a day of wedding coordinator to keep you on time and tell you where to go.... In the end it was perfect for our wedding day.

The only draw backs are that you can't have any recorded music so you you either have organ only or have to hire musicians. We hired to two trumpet players and it was epic. The other draw back is that the photographers have to stay behind the last row of guests or be in the upper level pews. I haven't seen my professional photos yet so I can't comment on the impact that this rule has.

In the end I can't imagine having my wedding anywhere else and I'd book it again in a heartbeat.

Westminster is a GORGEOUS French gothic cathedral built somewhere in the 1920s, complete with gorgeous stained glass windows! It is a bit pricey, but it compares well to other wedding venues. Pre-marital counseling is required and a part of the fee, but it is well worth it. Even if you are not religious or of a different faith, their counseling sessions are non-biased and non-judgmental. We enjoyed them so much that we were surprised how quickly they went by and we were sad when we found out we weren't going to have any more! As far as the venue itself, as others have said, no pre-recorded music is allowed. However, the pipe organ is incredible and if you can splurge to hire additional musicians (trumpet or guitar players), it would make it that much more awesome. We couldn't splurge, but the organ was beautiful all on its own (and honestly, I was so nervous walking down the aisle, the only thing I remember is trying not to fall and just waving hello at everyone). My only complaint is that one of the coordinators was a little less than professional when dealing with the bridal party. She snapped at my girls because we were running a few minutes behind schedule (as most weddings typically do). She thought she had been clear about getting them to line up, but she wasn't and she came back and snapped at them when they were just waiting to be told what to do. Considering that they are used to doing a LOT of weddings, I expected a little more decorum than that. Aside from that and a lack of proper air conditioning in the reception hall, those were the ONLY hiccups and everything else ran smoothly. The pastor is super nice (and funny!) and the rest of the staff is wonderful. I would absolutely recommend Westminster to host your wedding ceremony if you are looking for a gorgeous gothic cathedral with incredible stained glass windows and an exceptional counseling session that will help prepare you for your upcoming marriage.

Gorgeous gorgeous church. Photographs really nicely. Rev. Twining Campbell co-officiated our wedding and he was really easy to work with. Just a heads up, if you want to get married at this church, you have to take 5 pre-marital counseling sessions ... which my husband and I actually ended up enjoying. We got to know more about each other during these sessions and talked about certain issues that were never brought up in the 5+ years we were dating. The ceremony coordinator and reception coordinator were both very professional and made sure the entire wedding from start to finish went as smoothly as possible.

I was happy to have my wedding at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. The staff was helpful, responsive, and easy to reach. The church provides a ceremony coordinator, reception coordinator, and requires that you use their pastor to officiate (you have the option to select a co-officiant of your choice). The only drawback is that the sanctuary does NOT have air condition; the reception area does have A/C). It gets VERY hot in the sanctuary, albeit, my wedding was in August. I would recommend this venue to a budget conscious friend.

This church is truly stunning, both inside and out. The pastor and staff were very nice and professional, thought at times it took a few tries to get a response. Though it is pricey, you do get premarital counseling, which was really helpful for us. We loved the Pastor and the church coordinator was also great. They do have rules and restrictions, but they are basically the same as most other churches. The only thing brides may want to know is that pre-recorded music is not allowed, but they do provide an organist and as they promised, we got our full deposit back within days of the wedding. I would definitely recommend Westminster!

The church itself is amazing. Everything about it is beautiful, from the stained glass windows, to the long aisle.. i was in love with everything about this church.

Overall i had a good experience with this Church. However there were a couple things that i didnt like.
* I wasnt very happy with my assigned coordinator. I was never told who she would be, only that i would be contacted 6 months before my wedding. Well only 3 months before my wedding, i was finally able to talk to her, after having to goto the church myself 3 times and talk to the actual pastor. Overall the coordinator was not very helpful, and never remembered anything about me or my "event" as she called it. On the day of my rehearsal, she was really pushy and rude, and i couldnt figure out why.. until she told us that she was leaving early because she had tickets to see a show at the Pantages! I was shocked that she would even tell us that, and instead of re-scheduling with me, she just rushed us through the rehearsal.

Day of the wedding was okay, mostly because i had hired my own Day Of Coordinator and didnt have to talk much to my church appointed one. Martha, the pastor who married us, was wonderful to work with and everyone loved our service that we designed with her. I also enjoyed the "required" pre-marital counseling and felt as though it was really helpful.

The church was amazing, the pastor was great to work with, but for the price you pay for a 3-hour window, you'd think you would get better service. I would recommend, but with caution.

This is one of the most beautiful churches I have been to. They have a beautiful gothic cathedral look inside their main sanctuary (they filmed The Wedding Planner and The Wedding Crashers at this church). I fell in love with this church and this was the first venue that we booked after our engagement. However, what couples need to be aware of is that this church requires a huge security deposit and they are VERY strict about the rules that they have (and they will deduct fees out of your deposit for every infraction). Their calendar is fills up pretty fast. Our wedding rehearsal was booked back-to-back with another rehearsal. The other wedding party arrived early and they were moving around the chapel during our rehearsal. As soon as we were done, we were rushed out of the chapel - that we had to finish some of last minute touches on the wedding in the parking lot. We have beautiful pictures from our wedding, but we're still debating if it was worth having our wedding at this church.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
