Cake was one of our lowest-level wedding priorities, so we didn't want to break our bank for some big fancy thing that most people wouldn't eat anyways. We ordered two half-sheet Ultimate cakes from Wegman's--one chocolate, one vanilla--about a month before, and picked up a simple 9-inch cake for cutting the day of. Everyone raved about it, and we had a ton extra from our 180-person wedding. Affordable and delicious!
