My daughter was married on Honeymoon Island but it is the same company that runs the weddings on Sand Key beach so I wanted to share my great experience with the company as a whole...Thanks to Kristina my daughter's wedding day went smoothly and was just perfect - it was everything we had imagined and more. We live in Michigan so when my daughter expressed her desire to have a destination wedding in Florida, I became a little nervous about the distance. Luckily, after getting to know Kristina, my worries melted away. Kristina went through every detail with us by email and phone. She would even offer advice and help us through decisions we weren't sure about like décor options and the best time for sunset photos. Honeymoon Island is a beautiful beach and we are so glad we chose this venue. My daughter had her fairytale wedding and I couldn't be happier - Thank you a million times over to Kristina and the Honeymoon Island/Sand Key Beach team!!

The staff at Honeymoon Island and Weddings on Sand Key Beach is amazing!!!! Several months ago I inquired inside the South Beach Pavilion about my upcoming wedding. The cashier referred me to Kristina, she was located in the office next to the Pavilion down stairs. I did not have an appointment but I thought I would give it a try. I walked in and there were 2 ladies sitting at desks one was talking to some people and the other asked if she could help me. This was Brittany. I told her about my plans to get married and so she immediately took me on a tour of the venue which is absolutely beautiful. When we came back the other lady which was Kristina sat me down and we talked for an hour about all the options and everything they have to offer. It was such a nice experience. They both made me feel like family. I was so excited to tell my fiance and as soon as I went home I did. We booked the wedding and 5 months later we were married. Kristina and Brittany truly knew how to make our day the most incredible memorable day of our lives. Even on such short notice. We can't wait to come back in a year and celebrate our anniversary! To anyone looking for a beautiful venue and a great experience along the way you have to reach out to these girls. Talk about stress free!! Thank you thank you Kristina and Brittany!!

We are from the Midwest but knew that we wanted a destination wedding on the beach. We wanted to have both the ceremony and reception on the beach, and Weddings on Sand Key Beach gave us that option. We knew exactly what we were signing up for -- rain is a possibility, it could be cool, there may be clouds and wind, and Sand Key Beach is a public beach. We selected the first week of November for our wedding because we wanted the best of both worlds -- sunshine and warm and a beach that wasn't crazy busy.

We communicated via email for months prior to the wedding. Sand Key was great keeping in touch and answering any questions that arose. We met with Rachel and Shayne the day before our wedding to take care of last minute details and drop off some of our decorations. They provided all of the decorations, but we had some additional things like name cards, guest book, candy, etc. The forecast for the evening was cool and windy, so we asked about heaters. They arranged to have heaters on site and ready to go once the sun set.

The ceremony site was beautiful and hassle free. They took care of the set up and break down - our extra decorations as well (items from the sand ceremony, aisle runner, flowers for arch piece,etc.) Because of the date we selected, the beach was not busy at all. There was a wedding from another vendor on the next boardwalk over, but our ceremony with an amazing set up, live violin music, and outstanding officiant was much better :)

Food was great -- we were not 100% sure what a catered dinner on the beach would look like, but everything was delicious! Our reception package included a cake from Chantilly Cakes, and it was exactly what we asked for! The staff was great -- very friendly and helpful throughout the whole evening.

We definitely recommend Weddings on Sand Key if you are looking for a beach wedding. Thank you Shayne, Rachel, Debbie and staff for a stress free evening and unforgettable experience!

The wedding ceremony ended . Up being perfect and Debbie w as really sweet BUT:

- we were told we were the only couple getting married that day on the beach, that the whole beach was ours. The day of our wedding every boardwalk had another sunset wedding at the same time as ours.

- we kept confirming information asked in emails over and over again for the same info.

- she took a while to respond to emails

- we thought we had a lot of perks in our package that we didnt have (officiant & sand jars). BE SURE TO ASK WHAT RESPONSIBILITIES ARE YOURS BEFORE YOU PAY.

- my husband accidentally over spent on the chair rental and asked to refund 10 chairs the day after we realized and they didnt allow it.

The pictures posted on their websites of the tents are NOT accurate. False advertisement. We showed up to a barbecue tent with food trucks set up directly behind it...which...is where the food comes from....the day before our wedding. When talking to Tina, she was not accommodating and offered to put up a tailgate tent for the bar area. They were very defensive when we expected to get what we purchased. After speaking with the foreign owner, he told us to "shut up" four times and hung up on us. After the fact, we heard they changed tent companies MONTHS ago...meanwhile...our original wedding planner "walked out"... and never told us about the changes. We were clear that we wanted the high peak tents, which was clear in the contract. RUN!

This company is a complete joke and would not recommend them to anyone. Our original wedding planner left after everything was planned, they tried to up-charge us on rental fees after our contact had already signed, and told us we were no longer able to have our reception (as planned) on the beach two months prior to our event. I'm not sure if they treat everyone to this degree of disrespect or just same sex couples, but their poor communication and unprofessional behaviors would never allow me to promote their business. In addition, our new wedding planner Tina Wilder was not available for our rehersal nor the ceremony, so I'm not quite what her actual job is. Thank you Susan for helping us last minute but overall we are disappointed with this experience.

I had my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour through Weddings on Sand Key Beach and there was nothing enjoyable about the experience. They are unresponsive and VERY inflexible. They have a cookie-cutter selection and do not let you have any input in the process. I heard more "NOs" from them than all of my other wedding vendors combine. They only have outside space and if it rains there is no cancellation policy - so you have to have your wedding under a tent that you(and your guests, wedding party, photographer) still have to walk a distance to get to in the rain. Luckily, it did not rain on my wedding but they have no contingency plan, your just SOL. Not only this, but the photography that comes as part of the package (because there are no changes allowed) DID NOT SHOW UP! I had my own photography that did a great job, but I paid for that part of the service and it was not provided. This company doesn't not care about providing a memorable service for your special day. Actually they created more stress throughout the whole process.

my wife and i recently had our wedding on sand key beach in clearwater beach florida. i would strongly recommend looking else where to have your beach wedding. when we met with our planner before the wedding we asked her on multiple occasions whet the beach looks like on a saturday around 5pm, she stated that the beach could be crowded but the space given to us by her company gives more than enough space for the wedding guests to be comfortable and to have a little bit of privacy. this was not the case, when my groomsmen and myself arrived i found multiple people sitting directly in front of our alter and completely surrounding our "large space" which was not loarge by any means. obviously, i was not happy with this, when i had asked our planner to help me move some people out of the way she responded by saying she cannot help me becasue it is a public beach and if i wanted people to move i had to ask them myself. now, when i say that my guests were surrounded by beach goers they were litterally surrounded. there were people sitting about 5 feet from my guests sitting on the ends of the rows in full blown beach gear getting ready to watch the wedding like they were invited. after about 15 minutes of asking people to please move i had to get on with the wedding. i was able to clear a decent amount of people away, but with no help at all from the planner provided by the company. ( advantage leisure services, they have a trailer on the beach that says weddings at sand key beach) also, when we had the rehersal the night before the planner decided to tell me that their backup plan which is a large tent that could fit 100 people in it was destroyed last week in a storm. when i asked what the back up plan is now, she only stated that no rain is in the forecast for tomorrow. awesome, so the plan is to hope that it will not rain in florida in june? if this sounds bad enough it gets better. obviously after i arrived with my groomsmen and saw the white trash-ness that had now
