WCC provided the perfect venue for our mother's 70th Birthday celebration. The atmosphere was fantastic and Lori was such a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend WCC and thank them for helping to make our celebration a memorable event.

We loved our venue! It was very spacious and easy to get to. They have some pretty high requirements when it comes to the catering which caused us to increase our budget in that area. But other than that I feel very comfortable recommending this venue to others.

We chose the Civic Center as our venue due to our large number of guests and ability to be inside in case of rain (which it did). For the amount of space you get and the flexibility to bring in your own food and alcohol, the value was fantastic. There were a few bumps in the road as far as setting up. Be sure to obtain all parts of the contract when signing, as we were not aware of the need to buy an insurance policy for providing our own alcohol until just a couple of weeks before. The staff is relatively friendly and helpful when you ask questions. Donna is great and incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. We had some run-ins with Lori and I as well as a few others involved in my wedding were not thrilled with the attitude we were given when asking questions and coordinating issues. All in all, the event space is great and allows you to transform the room any way you would like.

I am a Waxahachie Resident and I decided to get married in the same town to make things a little easier. The contract needs to be read very carefully because providing any kind of alcohol is fairly difficult with this location. They have very many rules that come into affect if you are planning to provide alcohol of any sort to your guests. One of the rules is purchasing a 1,000 insurance policy to be responsible for your guests.
One of the main problems I had with the Civic Center was communication. Response to Voicemails and Emails is very slow. I have waited up to 2 weeks for a response just to book a dance floor. Other than that, the customer service was appalling. Almost every time I met or spoke with someone that worked there I got attitude right from the start. The very large, older man that works in the back where you load was especially rude when we came to drop off some décor to my planner the day before my event. He was angry because he had previously explained how to open and close the garage to another group of people prior to us and was very demeaning to me and my mother. After my reception when our guests were waiting outside with birdseed we noticed the hallways inside the building reeked like raw sewage. My parents and mother and father in law were appalled because the rest of the family and friends were in such a hurry to leave because of the smell. My experience there as a bride left me feeling very unwelcome and belittled.
