Perfect in every way!

When I began my search for a wedding venue, I knew I wanted historic charm and elegance. I have never been a fan of those cookie-cutter wedding ballroom venues- the ones that have massively tacky, corporate-looking decor. The Wainwright couldn't be more opposite.

Driving up for the first time I remember thinking, "This is it!" From the statley entrance with expansive bay views to the regal interior, the house is exquisite. They also have a beautiful tent which we didn't need to use because my guest list was under 50 people. We truly enjoyed having our wedding inside the mansion- utilizing the home's different rooms and grandeur feel. I will also quickly mention how professional and personable the staff was. They also have an inhouse catering company (Bartleby and Sage) which is beyond top-notch. My vibe for my wedding was elegance and romance and the Wainwright House met my expectations 100%.

Thank you!!

The perfect wedding venue!

When I imagined my dream venue, I pictured a large estate that felt like an elevated backyard wedding—something warm, intimate, and personal, without any hint of a “wedding factory” vibe. That kind of setting was proving hard to find in the tri-state area… until I stumbled upon the Wainwright House on WeddingWire.

It was everything I had hoped for and more. The venue checked every box—and then some. We received countless compliments from our guests, who were blown away by its charm and uniqueness. One of the most special aspects of Wainwright is that you get access to the entire house and grounds, which gives you so much flexibility to tailor the space to your guest count and overall vibe.

While the venue does come with a few more rules and regulations—which can be a bit of a process—it’s 100% worth it. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat to have our wedding at the Wainwright House.

Beautiful Wedding at Wainwright House

We loved getting married at Wainwright House; it was the perfect venue for our wedding. Echoing other reviewers, any negative reviews were from before Bartleby & Sage became the point of contact for Wainwright's weddings. Wainwright was such a beautiful space and easy venue to work with that we decided to also have our departure brunch in the manor.

Wainwright House is absolutely stunning. The manor itself was a beautiful setting for family photos and our first look. We used the second floor rooms and library to get ready. It was a clean, comfortable, and large space. The house is in good condition and there are multiple bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. There's also a bedroom where the bride and groom can stay. It was perfect for the bridal getting ready photos.

The grounds overlook the Long Island sound and have a view of the Manhattan skyline in the distance. We held our ceremony and cocktail hour on the grounds before moving into the tent. One note is that the outdoor ceremony space is on grass that slightly declines towards the water. It wa perfect visually and acoustically, but guests with limited mobility might need some help getting to their seats. The grounds have a beautiful sunset over the water. Wainwright has an outdoor tent with the same view. Outdoor music does have to stop by 10pm, but we seamlessly moved indoors for an after party with a DJ in the manor. The venue is 5-15 minutes from hotels in Rye, Greenwich, and White Plains. Rye has a lot to do for guests, as well as bars for guests who want to continue the festivities.

We absolutely loved working with and getting married at Wainwright House!

Absolutely beautiful venue

This is an absolutely incredible venue with beautiful views - we couldn't believe how lucky we were to be able to have our wedding here at a reasonable price. There are a few drawbacks biggest ones being no amplified music outside and additional rentals needed if you're having a bigger wedding. But, the alternative of having dancing inside or spending a little extra is a wash compared to other venues that have those things built in but is more expensive overall.

Our wedding here was a dream and would definitely recommend!!
