My husband and I got married in Charleston nearly a year ago with Virgil as our photographer, and frankly I am appalled and disappointed in myself that it has taken me this long to write a review. In no way should my failure to submit this in a timely fashion be considered a reflection of the level of adoration I feel for Virgil and the enthusiasm I have for recommending that you hire him for your wedding, which is beyond measure. I cannot emphasize enough how integral Virgil was to the overall success and joy of our wedding, and proved himself to be the best investment we made by FAR. We were forced to modify our plans entirely the day before due to extreme weather (a "King Flood", to be precise), and when s*** hit the fan, Virgil did not hesitate for a second before stepping in to assist with coordination, making calls, setting an example for other vendors for how to execute under pressure / amidst chaos, and always offering us words of assurance along the way. He was truly beloved by our families, bridal party, and our guests, and we continue to stay in touch and consider him a friend to this day. Our wedding photos feel so timeless and like a true capsule of our day, which is such a testament to Virgil's talent and spirit. Hire him and rest assured you are in the BEST hands!

My fiancé and I did our engagement photos with Virgil. I have been following Virgil’s photography over the years and it has been a dream of mine to have him take our photos. He has this ability to make you feel comfortable in the awkward moment of pictures. He captures more than just pretty pictures – he captures emotion. We are so happy with our pictures. Now the hard part is picking our favorites.

Virgil & team were absolutely amazing. He worked so hard to capture all of the day's special moments and gave such a nice personal touch by knowing the entire family and (very large) bridal party's names by the end of the weekend. We also hired him to photograph our rehearsal dinner which was so worth it. The photos were stunning, and he delivered a much larger number of photos than a lot of other photographers I have seen. He also shot on film (as well as digitally), which a lot of photographers don't do because of the extra labor and cost, and these photos were unique and beautiful and some of our favorites. He is well worth the investment!
