Upstairs at Midtown is a versatile building that offers many different events spaces. These all share a distinct style that builds upon the property’s history, elevating its original architectural features which are still intact. A quintessentially Charleston venue, rich pine flooring, coffered mahogany ceilings, and striking brickwork define its interior. Its owners have chosen to let the building speak for itself, decorating it in a classic, yet minimal style. Spacious and accommodating, it can welcome sizable parties of up to 125 guests for an upscale cocktail reception throughout its many rooms. Seated dinners for up to 66 attendees can also be arranged, and there is space for a wedding ceremony including 50 loved ones. Boasting views over King Street, the venue truly feels at the heart of the city. Furthermore, there is a secluded rooftop terrace that welcomes outdoor gatherings in the sun. There is also a range of stylish furniture rentals available for parties to avail of including tables and chairs.
The management of Upstairs at Midtown is proud of the venue and excited to welcome those celebrating their wedding. They offer their support throughout the day’s events and can even provide a ceremony director when needed. The staff is also happy to help with the setup of events and can provide access to high-tech lighting and sound equipment.
The management is proud to have an exclusive catering contract with King Street Catering Co. Serving locally sourced fare with style, their offerings are skillfully prepared and will delight guests. Their menus are season and change according to what is fresh and available. The group can also provide expert bar services including top-shelf libations created by knowledgeable mixologists.

Historical, Charming, Beautiful Venue + Incredible Food and Staff
We had our wedding at Upstairs at Midtown in November and it was a magical, joyous and gorgeous affair. While this was not our original plan, location or state - our wedding turned out to be absolutely wonderful and essentially everything we envisioned for our special day.Sent on 12/17/2020
The Upstairs at Midtown venue is gorgeous. It's intimate, historical, charming, and is a great blank slate to make it your own or just let the natural historical beauty fill the space with elegance. We loved having the outdoor rooftop and market lights - such a great touch!
The Upstairs and King Street Hospitality team was outstanding. Honestly, I think almost every single person that attended our wedding raved about the food especially - the chicken and waffle appetizer was the star of the evening! I had people trying to bribe the team to give them the recipe, it was that good! The staff was wonderful, the service was wonderful, the setting was wonderful - seriously an all together wonderful team, space and evening!

Wedding Day of our Dreams
My husband and I chose Upstairs at Midtown for our August 15th, 2020 wedding day, and we truly could not have chosen a more perfect setting and team to help bring our dreams to reality. We actually had to completely change our wedding plans due to Covid, and booked Upstairs at Midtown roughly a month out from our day, and both Kathleen and Sofie made the entire process as stress-free as possible, guiding us through every step, sending out friendly reminders as we got closer to our day, and ensuring we were fully taken care of on our wedding day. The entire team went above and beyond to take care of not only myself and my husband, but also all of our guests. I hadn't even reached the door when one of their kind servers made sure to get my drink of choice, and they ensured we had a drink in our hands all evening without ever having to ask. Sofie was extremely on top of things, and helped coordinate every step of the evening for us - she is incredibly sweet and kind, and helped to keep me calm when I was stressed! The food was INCREDIBLE and my guests are still raving about it! The venue itself is absolutely stunning and truly doesn't need much of anything to be beautiful, and was the perfect backdrop for our intimate 30 person event. Weeks later, my husband and I still can't stop talking about how amazing our day was, and so much of that is thanks to the King Street Hospitality team.Sent on 09/01/2020
