We had both our wedding and reception at the Dark Horse Distillery and would do it all over there again in a heartbeat! We were so impressed with the space and all the Dark Horse staff from beginning to end. The amenities at the space are top-quality and set the perfect ambiance for our intimate, evening ceremony. Mary and her staff guided our family & friends with any questions about setting up decor in the space, and took care of every detail that I normally would have had to instruct. She was quick to suggest moves to allow our guests to fully enjoy the space, and they did! The bartending staff also wow-ed us with their skill and creativity, providing way more than simple beer pours. We can't say enough about the space and the staff, and our guests continue to talk about how amazing this venue was, as well. Worth every penny.

The new event space at the Darkhorse Distillery looks from the outside like a single story brick building in a small industrial area, but inside it was immaculate. A wonderful mix of metal, glass, wood and upscale textures and artwork - this space had one feature that we couldn't live without, upholstered chairs! These chairs were much more comfortable than the traditional folding or chivarri chairs, and our guests were happy to be comfy for our plated dinner.

Although there are the usual snags you would expect from a new space, they did a good job of working with us and our vendors to make our vision come to fruition. My only complaint, which actually came from my mother and aunt who were setting up while I was getting ready, was that they were giving tours while we were setting up for the wedding. This made a couple of the staff unavailable to them to answer questions and provide some of the needed items in a timely manner. Since we were not able to get into the space earlier in the day, it was much more difficult to not have access to the key staff we who had the answers. There was also a snag with the correct linens for the tables, which tells me the reservations weren't made in a timely manner, but again I think that is just the growing pains of a new space.

Otherwise, the event ran smoothly, they worked with us to get our slideshow up on the wall, arranged things the way we wanted and overall we were very happy to have our reception here. I would certainly recommend them to other brides.

We picked this space because of how beautiful and unique it really is! They really sell this place as an event space well in the beginning, but we ran into some big road blocks about two weeks before the wedding that really upset us. The cost is pricy and originally we thought it was worth it because we were made to feel the gal that was working with us also would be there to help coordinate things and act as a planner for the space on the day of. Low and behold two weeks prior we met with a completely different person that was to be in charge of our reception that we had never met or talked to before. Then all the extra hidden charges for some of the things we were told were included came up. After dealing with all that I really felt like we paid a whole heck of a lot of money for a space and for the staff to move furniture around for us and then to stand around during the event, and then jump on cleaning up before last call and and hour and a half before everyone was required to be out. I gave this a low review because the things we were made to feel where included in the price we paid were not. This place is beautiful, but be careful of all the hidden costs.
