Trollwood Performing Arts School is a banquet hall venue located in Moorhead, Minnesota. This facility plays a key role in providing the local community with exceptional arts education, and in addition to its goal of providing education and entertainment, this facility also manages the Bluestem Center for the Arts. Both art centers offer a simply relaxing and refreshing escape. Due to its prime location in a park-like setting, Trollwood provides not only an exceptional educational experience, but also a serene site where couples can host the ceremony and reception of their dreams.
Facilities and Capacity
Trollwood Performing Arts School has many sites that are perfect for hosting not only the ceremony and reception, but also the bridal shower, engagement party, rehearsal dinner, and wedding dances. Due to its private and peaceful setting, intimate elopements are also welcomed. Couples will find indoor, covered outdoor, and uncovered outdoor settings to choose from on the property. Due to its large size, the venue is ideal for hosting smaller sized ceremonies all the way up to larger weddings with up to 300 guests. Inside, couples will find a board room, dance studio, a living room, and more. Outside, the wedding party will get to take in the scenic views of the nearby Red River and grassy meadows. The Schlossman Pavilion is one outdoor setting option that you can choose from, which provides clear views of this river.

Additionally, the venue equips couples with many of the basic items that they will need. Dream Wedding Venue!
Our experience got off to a rocky start when an initial scheduling mistake on the venue’s end led to us being asked to cancel and reschedule our wedding after we had already sent out Save the Dates and booked our vendors. While this was an incredibly stressful situation, Trollwood handled it with absolute grace. They took accountability, worked to make things right, transferred us to a new point of contact, and ultimately allowed us to keep our original wedding date. We truly appreciated how they handled the situation and turned a stressful beginning into such a positive experience.
We eventually began working with Macy, and she was absolutely wonderful! She is so bubbly, kind, helpful, and supportive. She made us feel heard and was accommodating to so many of our ideas. We wanted to hang wisteria from the rafters, and they said, “Go for it!” We wanted to rent a side-by-side to drive our guests up to the pavilion, and they said, “That sounds great!” We never felt like our ideas were too much, and we loved having the freedom to make the space feel personal to us.
Beyond the wonderful staff, the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. The outdoor space is expansive, with so many beautiful trees and a stunning natural setting that made our wedding feel so special.
Overall, we are so grateful that we got to celebrate our wedding at Trollwood. Despite the initial hiccup, the way the team handled everything and supported us throughout the process made such a difference. We had a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend Trollwood to any couple looking for a beautiful venue with a team that genuinely wants to help bring your vision to life!
