Richard Winsted was awesome and so helpful. Everything went smoothly. I hardly had to do anything to set up except tell him what I wanted. The food was AMAZING! I am still getting complements on it. The pricing was awesome too. I didn't have to pay a fee to rent the place. We had the ceremony and reception there and all I had to pay for was the bar, food and an optional $300 for an extra hour because we wanted to be there for 5 hours. The view and scenery was so beautiful as well.

I HIGHLY recommend having your reception at The Whitetail with Richard as your banquet manager. If your wedding is anywhere in Upstate New York, this venue provides THE BEST prices you will find for superior quality. Richard was very accommodating with all of our requests and very generous with his time. He was also patient with me through my nervousness.
They have a huge dance floor built onto the banquet room and an amazing sound system we were able to use at no cost to us. They removed the bar stools from the tavern and the TV's were "broken" the night of our reception to encourage our guests to dance.
We didn't choose to have our ceremony at the golf course but that is also available.
The staff did the majority of our setup in advance and was very accommodating as to when we could bring our decor in. I had some extra decorations that Richard used all around the room and made it look gorgeous. Everything he did was to help us SAVE money- there were no hidden costs, up-charges, or ridiculous policies. He wrote us a very nice email a couple of days after our wedding to tell us how much he loved providing these services to us and wishing us a happy marriage.
The food was beyond any banquet expectations. I can't say that enough. Hardly anyone remembered to clink their glasses at us during dinner because they were chowing down on the delicious meal.
I wasn't a big fan of the chairs in the dining room but we used chair covers. It was a worthwhile expense because we spent about half the money on food compared to every other venue we looked at in the greater Syracuse area.
I have absolutely nothing negative to say about my experience with the Whitetail. If you are considering this venue, put your money down NOW before someone else snatches your date!!!
