Beautiful Venue for Bridal Shower

Such a beautiful space. My maid of honor hosted our couples shower here. We had about 50 people there, drinks and snacks. There is a full bar. It’s super beautiful with all the live plants and modern design and furniture they didn’t have to decorate at all. It was perfect. I honestly wish I would have known they hosted weddings here because it would have been easy and beautiful. Love the owners they are responsive, professional and were super helpful.

Just looking for another reason to host an event there again!

Wax Space is an incredibly versatile space for events. We rented the space for a company party and we were able to make it a multifunctional space -- complete with a ping pong table, MarioKart station, dance floor, and bar.

Agostina, Grant, and Doug could not be more communicative, flexible, and wonderful to work with. Just delightful people. :)

I look forward to when I can work with them again!

More headache then its worth

I have written/posted maybe three reviews in my entire life. I'm writing this because I hope to communicate that couples should not use this vendor for their wedding. I picked this venue because they seemed flexible and unique, yet they ended up being the most stressful part of my wedding planning experience. They were not responsive to communications and made it difficult to coordinate when to visit the space. They have basically no kitchen or appliances needed for hosting catering and did not want us using their fridge to keep items temp regulated. Over the course of my engagement (following me signing a contract with them) they added in three, large permanent furniture installations that could not be moved, a full vending machine, and altered the main bar area. This forced me to rearrange my rentals and floorplans multiple times - even the day of. Even after asking them on multiple occasions to tell me when they were making changes to their facility I heard nothing from them. The only reason I learned of any of these changes was through constantly checking their Instagram. After my event they charged my card with bogus damage fees related to pipe damage from artificial greenery clogging their drain - I had no artificial greenery at my wedding. In all, I was so happy with my wedding weekend and every other vendor I had. I really post this in the hopes that no other couple has to deal with the nightmare and stress of The Wax Space for their wedding.

Locked out of the Waxspace during our booked time!

DO NOT LEASE THIS VENUE FOR YOUR SPECIAL EVENT!!! I leased this place for my birthday party. I paid for 4 hours, 7pm to 11pm, signed my contract and paid in full. I reached out to Melinda Dexter, the event coordinator the week of the event. The email bounced back...so I drove to the venue to confirm we were good for my event that upcoming Saturday. I emailed again to Melinda using a different email, and she responded that I was all paid up and everything was good to go on Saturday. I ask follow up questions about where to dump trash and for the projector use.

Saturday, the day of my event arrives, and NO ONE SHOWS UP FROM WAXSPACE TO LET US IN!!!! Yes, you read that correctly. It is 7pm, my guests, my dj, my food, and my family are locked outside of the Waxspace with NO ACCESS!!! I called the number on the contract...it is disconnected! I call the Waxspace directly, it is a google voice number and no one is available. I call one other number I find, it is also a non working number. I email Melinda, and of course, no response. In fact, it has been 4 days (yes, a weekend in between), but NO RESPONSE from any Waxspace representative.

Saturday, embarrassed and upset, I told all of my guests to go to another location to have my party. We started to gather all of our food and party items when a guy walks up and we ask if he knew how to contact people at the Waxspace. At this time, it is around 7:40pm. He said that he did and was actually able to get us in because he had a Waxspace rental. He calls the owner, Grant K., and tells them our issue and around 7:45PM, we gain access to our space finally.

The place was unprepared for guests. The sink was full of dishes and there were newspapers and trash on the countertops. The a/c was no on to cool down the venue.

Around 8pm, an employee from Waxspace named Jack runs in looking like he just smoked crack before he got in. He had a big white tee on and boxer shorts or something and flip flops on. Way to look professional. Yet, he was kind and did what he could to make up.

My guests and I followed the contractual agreement to the T. We cleaned after ourselves and were out of the venue by 11. Yet, Waxspace is far from professional and far from giving a damn about your special occasion. Do NOT give these people your money or your business. They do NOT deserve it and they will ruin your special day!
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
