The W Banquet Hall is a historic, banquet hall wedding venue located in beautiful downtown Lawrence, Kansas. Just a few steps away from Massachusetts Street, this locally-owned and operated wedding venue offers original, rustic-elegant charm. Matt and Teresa Wolff are the owners of the venue. Matt and Teresa had a hard time finding the perfect place to have their wedding when they got married in Lawrence in 2006. Most people in their small home town normally rented the local community building to host their wedding, but they wanted to take it a step further, which is how The W Banquet Hall came to life in 2011.
Facilities and Capacity
The W Banquet Hall can host weddings and other special events for celebrations up to 275 people. The venue boasts a stone front entrance, exposed original dark wood ceiling, and beautiful stained concrete floors. This space is the only banquet hall in Lawrence that has no restrictions on food and alcohol. Another unique part of this venue is that it is pet friendly, so you can have your furry friend join you on one of the biggest celebrations of your life.
This beautiful banquet hall in downtown Lawrence offers a variety of event services, including day of coordination, bar services, cleanup, event rentals, and setup. The bar services include a bartender(s), and couples have the option to have an open bar and to bring in their own alcohol. The venue provides audio equipment as well as centerpieces, chairs, decorations, tables, china, flatware, glassware, and linens for your event.

My husband and I just got married at The W Banquet Hall and we cannot say enough great things about the rustic beauty of this venue! Our pictures turned out just the way that we were hoping in the space and the owners are so down to earth and friendly. We could not be more pleased with the W Banquet Hall and how professional, and flexible they were for us. It was a great space, it was plenty of room for our 220 guest, and we ended up breaking down two tables to make more room to dance which was perfect. The atomosphere is very vintage/rustic elegance. Theresa was so easy to work with and was great about letting us come walk around The W a few times before our wedding as we were planning. The space is beautiful and was a good size for our wedding of about 100 guests. Everything about The W was super flexible as well-we got the space all day (as opposed to some venues we looked at that had time restrictions and HUGE extra costs for each additional hour), could bring in our own food and alcohol without any restrictions or extra fees, and had tables and chairs included in the price already. Theresa even set them up for us! The flexibility was great for someone doing a lot of DIY to save money. We'd definitely recommend The W!Sent on 12/08/2015

Have you seen our social media post’s about expensive weddings, elopements on the rise, and Lawrence being a #1 destination city… With all this being said, we’d like to present to you The Elopement Event. Imagine this, you are engaged to be married and do NOT want to plan a big wedding (or a wedding of any size). Or, you’ve been married for many years and would like to renew your vows.
Let us walk you through The Elopement Event… You and your guests (and up to two pets😃🐶) will arrive at The W Banquet Hall at your ceremony time. The couple will have their own private ceremony in front of a gorgeous backdrop (think white chiffon, greenery and flowers) with their guests as their witnesses. We will provide the ordained person to perform your ceremony, you just need to bring your marriage license. The couple will then get a mini photo session with the amazing Kelsey Kimberlin Photography! After the photo session and ceremony, the couple and their guests will then enjoy our space doing different activities such as their first dance, taking pictures in a photo booth camper or in front of our selfie backdrop (it will match the ceremony backdrop❤️), or enjoying snacks and drinks. The couple and their guests will receive cupcakes, champagne and snacks! We will also have more drinks available...
