The Venue

Nestled on the streets of downtown Janesville, Wisconsin, lies The Venue, a historic building renovated to make a stunning and inviting venue ideal for weddings and landmark celebrations. The Second Empire-style property, overlooking the Rock River, offers charm, flexibility, and elegance for the big day, with various spectacular event spaces available.

Facilities and Capacity

The Venue welcomes celebrations of all sizes, from cozy and intimate to the more grand and spectacular. Elaborate and exquisite woodwork, intimate lighting, and large, original stained glass all add a sense of refined elegance and history to the building. Balconies allow couples and guests alike to enjoy the riverside vistas as they enjoy the romantic, warm, and cozy atmosphere created. The Venue can accommodate events for between 10 and 350 invitees, with the magnificent Bower City Ballroom being the largest room, complete with restored arches, ceiling, and trim. The 1870s Room is a unique space on the third floor, welcoming 80 loved ones for a banquet feast, with a built-in bar, original hardwood floors, and a tin ceiling that adds captivating allure. Last but by no means least is the Second Empire Room, perfect for more intimate celebrations, with a maximum capacity of 48 guests for a sit-down get-together.

History

The Venue is bathed in history, originally built in 1870 as The Court Street Methodist Episcopal Church. The Masonic Lodge purchased the pristine property in 1905, before the current owners, the Grafft family, bought it in 2013 and set about painstakingly restoring its original beauty and charm.
