I feel like the city club is the hidden gem of Milwaukee. To say this place is beautiful is an understatement! It’s an amazing mix of old Victorian meets modern touches in the best way and the views from the 6th floor lounge can’t be beat! Leah guided us through the planning process with such friendliness and helpfulness. Literally not a single bad thing to say about this place. PLEASE consider this for a potential venue!! I promise it will meet and exceed all expectations!

We first toured the University City Club in September of 2018, 2 months after our engagement. From the start, Event Director Larry was welcoming, courteous, straightforward, and joyful. We decided to sign the contract the next day, Larry meeting with us in his office on a Sunday to accommodate our out-of-town status. Over the next 2 years, Larry was ever responsive to our every request, question, or concern, available both via email and phone at all times. The University Club requires use of their in-house catering. I was a little apprehensive of this when we signed our contract. All of my anxieties were quickly quelled at our tasting, at which us and four of our bridal party members enjoyed dishes as appetizing to the palate as they were to the eye.

When I was informed in April 2020 that Larry was no longer with the Club, I was nervous that all of the excellent customer service we had received would be gone with him. Instead, Matt, the Club's Executive Director, went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable with him orchestrating our event. He had everything in hand and was on-site and available all day both the day before and the day of our wedding.

The University Club was flexible and accommodating during the COVID-19 crisis, letting us put a soft hold on a second date, adjusting the catering minimum to account for our reduced number of guests, and reassuring us that should we wish to proceed with our original date, they would be there. Though we booked long before global pandemic was a threat, we couldn't have asked for a better venue to work with during all of the uncertainty. We would absolutely get married at the University Club again in a heartbeat - the beauty, the service, and the food were unbeatable!

Larry and the UClub team genuinely care about making your wedding or whatever event you have perfect. They care so much that even your other vendors and your guests comment on how rare it is for a wedding venue and coordinator to truly care about nailing every bit of detail and executing perfectly. The UClub was flawless and on the ball with every detail every step of the way. Food was superbly prepared for all guests from the beef at dinner to appetizers and even specially coordinated food for specific diets. Our guests raved about the beauty of the venue, access around the venue, tasty food and their interactions with staff! Simply top-notch! I highly recommend their stellar services to anyone and would gladly plan another event here!

I can't say enough good things about The University Club of Milwaukee. We chose to have our small wedding of 25 people in the Sixth Floor venue and could not have chosen a more perfect location. Everything about our experience was top notch, from our initial conversations with Larry, to the event itself. I appreciated the excellent service, the amazing views, the delicious food, and most especially, the staff. Thank you to the University Club, highly recommended.

I would highly recommend selecting the University Club for your wedding! The club made all of our dreams come true and we had such a fabulous wedding. Lawrence, the events coordinator at the University Club is a class act and will work with you to make your wedding absolutely perfect. The University Club was our first choice and we are so happy that we selected them as our wedding was absolutely amazing!

Lawrence Kreiner and Chef Ross were wonderful to work with. Larry thought of everything from using the proper chairs to the most beautiful outside setting. Ross's food selection could not have been better. Our guest are still talking about how perfectly done the dinner was. The staff down to the bus staff were extremely professional. This was the last of our children to get married and this was by far the most professional, well run wedding we have had.

Larry is an outstanding professional who is very reliable. Our daughter's wedding was picture perfect. The terrific view of Lake Michigan, the cuisine and service were amazing. In addition and very importantly, upon our request, Larry recommended outstanding, bands, florists, photographers etc. Since we are from the north suburban area of Chicago this was very helpful. Many thanks to Larry and his entire staff.

We were absolutely thrilled with our wedding at the University Club on Saturday, May 18. My husband and I hosted our son's wedding at the city club. We began working with Larry Kreiner in January, and while I have extensive experience with event planning and execution, it was reassuring to have Larry at the helm. Early on, we knew we were in excellent hands. Larry was always quick to respond to phone calls and emails, prompt with correspondence and answers to inquiries, and eager to ensure our wedding would fulfill our wishes.

And it did. While our May weekend weather was not ideal, everything at the University Club exceeded expectations. The staff were wonderful, hors d'oevres and meal delicious, venue accommodating for all our guests. Larry and Onella were there making sure every detail happened as planned. Our new daughter-in-law's family cannot stop sending their thanks for a lovely, elegant day. We were thrilled!

We do not take for granted this commitment to excellence at the University Club. It comes with a strong hospitality mission and commitment to service. Thank you to everyone, especially Larry, for making our wedding a weekend to remember.

To say my daughter's wedding held at the University Club of Milwaukee was" perfect" would actually be an understatement. From the start, meeting with the banquet manager, Lawrence, set the tone. We felt very confident with his guidance and eloquence. Planning the wedding was very organized. Now let's speak about the venue. What other location is set on the shore of Lake Michigan? There are not many. The view was incredible, the architecture of the building was beautiful, the many rooms available for different uses was hard to beat. The groom's family travelled from afar and were all able to stay in the hotel- like rooms at the club. The food was not only delicious but was presented like art. I have one question, why would anyone not choose to have a wedding at this perfect venue? In summary.....WONDERFUL

The wedding package, gave us access to many of the building features. The entire building features antique furniture in an elegant setting. The top sixth floor was perfect for our cocktail hour featuring a half circle of windows with beautiful panoramic views of Lake Michigan. Having the entire floor, you also have West views of the city. The built-in center located bar was perfect for our cocktail hour.
It was very convenient to have booked overnight rooms right there for the wedding party and family. The variety of rooms available we were able to pick from gave us a selection that fit a variety of guest arrangements. Included with the rooms are two separate preparation suites for pictures of the wedding party early start of the big day. The female suite of three rooms has one room with wall to wall large mirrors for elegant pictures of the bridesmaids in preparation. The male suite had its own elegant stateliness for the groomsmen to prepare in too.
The Ballroom can be opened up to an L configuration. We used the main section for our 120 guests for dinner. Extending into the L section with its large mural on the inside wall, we used that section for our live band with dance area. So no chairs needed to be moved out of the way for the dancing after dinner.
