Exceptional!!!

It was the best decision I made to have Townsend hotel host my wedding and reception ceremony. From the moment we started, it was outstanding treatment and service by Merritt Rosenthal! She made this whole process for us incredibly smooth and easy. She was very respectful and kind which I found rare in this wedding process. I truly applaud Townsend on their customer service during our wedding and reception. It was beyond exceptional! Of all the vendors we worked with throughout the wedding process, Merritt’s work, work ethic, and her compassion stood out from any one else we dealt with. She made the whole process so seamless and was genuinely nice. She took every detail so seriously and was on top of everything months in advance! I would recommend doing any event at Townsend because they really take the time and go the extra mile to make things exactly how you envisioned! Merritt, I cannot thank you enough and Thank you Townsend Hotel!

this place is a serious operation. lizz was amazing from A to Z she covered it all. the townsend had everything completely covered, and literally never said "we can't do that" or "no, sorry" ONCE! they are a smooth sailing ship and well worth the money. only downside was space- wish we could have had more people attend our special night! this is an incredible and perfect place to get married.

Our dream wedding became reality at The Townsend Hotel! It was an incredible experience throughout the entire planning period. Everyone we worked with was very professional and went over & beyond their duties to ensure we had exactly what we wanted. We couldn't imagine having our wedding at any other venue. It was such a beautiful and elegant spot! One of a kind!

I am SO HAPPY with my choice with going with the Townsend for my wedding back in May 2014. If you want an intimate venue, this is the place. I had 165 guest and about 50 stayed at the Townsend and the others stayed at close hotels. I loved that I could walk down the halls and see my guests/family walking to their room or the restaurant inside the hotel. It felt like it was our own personal hotel, just for us and our wedding. The service is BEYOND anything I have ever seen in a hotel. I would call for 10 champagne glasses and before I could hang up the phone, someone was knocking on my suite door with glasses on a beautiful tray. These people are NICE people and really care about your satisfaction. We served salmon and steak and it was DIVINE. We also got our cake from their bakery, and even though I barely got to eat it, it was AMAZING!!! There is a salon right across the street where all your bridesmaids can get pampered and then walk right back over. Such a great location!

This review would not be a review without mentioning Lizz, the catering manager. She is the reason I chose this venue because of her excellent customer service. She treated me like a princess and really made me fall in love with the venue. She is very responsive to emails and I hope she eventually sees this review. Lizz, thank you sooo much for everything! The Townsend is VERY lucky to have you! If it wasn't for you, my fairy tale wedding would not have been complete!

I didn't have my wedding at the Townsend, but I worked with them to reserve a block of rooms for my guests at a discounted rate. The staff at the Townsend are wonderful. They are very helpful and provide impeccable service. They passed out welcome bags to the guests checking in without a fee (some hotels are known to charge for that). All of my guests were extremely happy with the hotel and the discounted rate. The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are luxurious.

Also, they sent champagne and chocolate covered strawberries up to the bridal suite which was a really nice touch.

I highly recommend staying at the Townsend!

The Townsend truly was the perfect place for our wedding. The food was amazing and two weeks later we are still recieving compliments on how delicious everthing was. From the very beginning Lizz Smith was beyond organized and was a crucial part in making the wedding such a success. I cannot say enough about her attention to detail, and how prompt she was in answering questions and responding to emails. The service on the day of the wedding was amazing and everything flowed right on schedule. The Townsend was the most expensive venue we looked but was worth every last penny! My only "compaint" was that they forgot to deliver our wedding cake pieces to our room at the end of the night, but given that we had the executive suite and they let our party go to 1:45 am , I was not about to complain. The Townsend was the best!

We had an outdoor ceremony at Cranbrook, but didn't want to chance a tented reception with it being October and all, plus I liked the idea of a hotel for the convenience of having everything with me, not needing transportation at night, etc., so we decided to find a hotel for our reception. This was challenging for two reasons: we were having a small, intimate wedding (60 guests) and I really like dramatic, elegant settings- the kind that usually only cater to larger groups. Finding the Townsend felt very lucky because they were able to accomodate our smaller group, but also provide the elegant setting I wanted. We rented the first two salons of their ballroom which also gave us use of the entire foyer as no one else booked the other half of the ballroom. The biggest perk was the complimentary executive suite they provided us with for 2 nights, which is a huge 3 room suite with 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies and TONS of room to get ready in! Each night we came into the suite they had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us! Their room service was delicious and I felt like an absolute princess staying there for my wedding, they make you feel very pampered. The reception went off beautifully. We even had a celebrity wedding crasher who was staying at the hotel, which couldn't have happened anywhere else! Our guests commented on seeing several famous athletes there during the reception as well! We worked with Joanie Sams and she was absolutely amazing, quick with emails and very accomodating. She was able to get us great block room rates for our out of town guests. The hotel is gorgeous and sophisticated, which real crystal chandeliers everywhere and amazing european decor. Everything has a very high end feel which is exactly what I wanted. The food was delicious and we received soo many compliments on it, our guests really enjoyed their dinners! We also used the Townsend Bakery for our cake. Their pastry chef, Taylor, was amazing. We had a cake tasting and everything was so delicious that we decided to do a different flavor cake and filling for each tier of our cake! I gave Taylor a color swatch and he made the frosting an exact match, it turned out beautifully! Also, the beds in the rooms are the most comfortable I've ever slept in! We went on a very extravagant honeymoon and stayed in 5 star resorts, but we kept commenting that none of the beds at these places were as comfy as the beds at the Townsend! I couldn't imagine a better place for a reception! Even if you don't have yours here, I would defintely recommend at least staying here for your wedding night! There is no other hotel as nice in the area, and their cozy beds and marble tubs make for a pretty romantic setting!

We reserved a room block at the Townsend for the night of the wedding. I also stayed there the night of the wedding as well with my new husband.

All in all I was really disappointed by the Townsend...i've always thought it was the pinnacle of customer service. Instead we found out that they turned away our guests telling them we didn't have a room block when indeed we did. They then resolved that situation only to shortly after call us to complain not enough people were reserving rooms....uh...you just turned them away. So we ended up being so frustrated that we just suggested to our guest they stay elsewhere.

I did still stay at the Townsend that night which the room was very nice but a bit overpriced...I really was expecting more!
