WELCOME TO THE TANNERY BARN!

We are located in the heart of Carroll County, right in the Main Street district of Taneytown, Maryland. Modern design and original historic details unite to create a remarkable, one-of-a-kind venue. Neutral and contemporary elements woven through our indoor and outdoor spaces create endless options for your personality and love to shine in this chapter of your story. We've created beautiful gardens, a modern courtyard with the ambiance of cafe lights, preserved every historical detail of the original barn and added a light and airy, four-seasons pavillion to host amazing celebrations, big and small.

- Indoor and outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour options

- Temperature controlled pavilion

- 8, 12 or 16 hour rentals (including setup and breakdown)

- 2 Getting ready suites

- Variety of tables (long and round), folding chairs for outdoor ceremonies and beautiful crossback chairs for the receptions

- Welcoming parties under 50 for the Historic Barn only or up to 230 for the Pavilion (includes access to the whole property)

- Hosting only one wedding per day and welcome weekend reservations as well!

- Off-site parking with the shuttle service included in the rental cost to create a valet experience (safe, quick and weather-protected)

October 2024 Wedding

Having our October 2024 wedding at The Tannery Barn was the best decision we made while wedding planning! From our first venue tour, David and Victoria made us feel so welcome. David was so incredibly helpful throughout the entire year and a half that we were planning, I can honestly say that he made this process so much easier and less stressful. He is so knowledgeable, creative, and made our wedding day so much fun . Having him there to lean on for our wedding day gave us peace of mind that everything would go smoothly, and it did! We could not be happier with our choice of venue. It was beautiful, especially after Victoria worked her magic with florals! One thing that was very important to us was that we had an indoor ceremony option that we were just as excited about as the outdoor ceremony option, and The Tannery Barn gave us exactly that!

Wedding of our dreams!

We got married on May 2024 at the Tannery Barn and it was truly an amazing experience from the day we booked them to our wedding day! We knew when we saw the venue for the first time that it was the one for us! The venue is beautiful inside and out. The staff are professional, experienced, warm & welcoming, accommodating, and went above and beyond for us! We loved the packages the venue offered such as their rental decor collection and hiring a wedding coordinator through the venue staff. It was great having one of their own staff help us through the wedding planning process and work with someone who knows the venue best! Our wedding day was magical, the staff went above and beyond for us and we were truly impressed throughout the day! The venue gives you their preferred vendors and we were so happy we went with their recommendations! The Tannery Barn made us feel so special, and made our dream wedding come true! We can’t say enough how happy we were with our entire experience and would highly recommend choosing the Tannery Barn for your wedding!

Highly recommend The Tannery Barn!

From reaching out to set up an initial visit at The Tannery Barn, through the days following our wedding, everyone was extremely helpful and responsive. They kept us in line with when everything should be scheduled and met with us multiple times. David helped us tremendously with putting together our final timeline and communicating with the vendors in the weeks leading up to the wedding. The day of the wedding, The Tannery Barn team worked hard and kept everything on time. David was always there to help us make decisions and made sure everything went smoothly. We loved having our wedding at The Tannery Barn!

Amazing venue to work with!

As a photographer, this was a beautiful venue to work at! Grounds are big for different backdrops and the scenery is amazing, especially a sunset. very helpful staff as well.

The perfect location!

The Tannery Barn was a beautiful location for our February wedding! We had unseasonably warm weather in February, so we were able to take pictures in their outdoor space, as well as have guests use the courtyard during the reception. The indoor spaces at The Tannery Barn were absolutely beautiful and were spacious enough for our ~120 person wedding and reception. The on-site getting ready spaces were perfect and so convenient. The Tannery Barn staff, especially David and Colleen, worked well with our wedding planner both leading up to and on our wedding day to ensure we had everything we needed and that our day went perfectly. A cute little touch was that they had a birdhouse for us to sign on our wedding day to place in their garden!

Tannery Barn is beautiful

The Tannery Barn is an absolutely amazing place to get married. The staff was so helpful, responsive, and so professional. They were always asking what we needed and if we wanted anything. We felt so welcomed and cared for!

Beautiful venue, wonderful staff!

This gorgeous venue made our wedding day truly magical. The rustic-elegant aesthetic combines beautifully with the surrounding farmland to create and environment both peaceful and fun. We chose to have our ceremony and reception in the same space. The team flipped it during cocktail hour, leaving it completely transformed. The getting ready spaces were great - very comfortable with lots of natural light. The venue staff was fantastic. They're personable, detail-oriented, and so much fun to work with. They really thought of every detail and knew just how to maximize the different spaces in The Tannery Barn (such as a secret hallway to enter the reception!). Amazing Venue for our Wedding!

The Tannery Barn was a terrific venue to hold our wedding! From the getting ready rooms to the outdoor gardens and the spacious, airy pavilion it really offered everything we didn't know we were looking for. The team was easy to work with and made sure our day was perfect!

Prior to booking my only hesitation was the location. Taneytown was a 60-90 minute drive for the majority of our guests and the town doesn't have much to offer by way of accommodations or restaurants. But it all worked wonderfully! We did multiple room blocks, both at a B&B in Taneytown and hotels in Gettysburg, arranged for a hotel shuttle and clearly communicated about the offsite parking. Our guests raved about The Tannery Barn and none of my location concerns ended up being a barrier in any way.

We couldn't have found a better place to hold our wedding!

One of the best

I had my wedding here in October 2020 and it was everything I could have hoped for and more. The venue is beautiful inside and out, and amazing staff to help guide you through you perfect day.
