History
Built around 1910, as Kunkel’s Hall, The Springfield Banquet Hall has a rich and diverse history, having been a staple of the community for over a century. This space was used as a school for several years, before it tragically burned down and was rebuilt as Firemen’s Hall, where the town was able to host dances. In 1947 the building was turned into Primack Dress Co. for fourteen years before returning as Kunkel's Hall. When the Kunkels sold the hall around 2000, it was renamed The Springfield Banquet Hall. Its current owners kept the name when they purchased it in 2016, shortening it to "The Springfield."
